WTAF is going on with the women's team. We let Alesia Russo go, ona Battle, and now Lucia Garcia and Mary Earp's.

Seem to be stagnant at the moment.

Earp’s was always going to leave at some point. Still a new team to women’s football compared to Chelsea, City and Arsenal so I think unfortunately this is just part of the process in the woman’s game.

I wouldn’t exactly say it’s part of the process. More a symptom of lack of funding and not being viewed as important. For instance, the woman’s team have just bern kicked out of their training facilities so the men’s team can use them while Carrington is redeveloped. Doesn’t exactly give them the impression that they’re valued.

Is Zelem out of contract too?
Letting the key players in the womens team leave for free whilst retaining players like martial for years (I know he hads left now) must be demoralising for the players. Hope they get a good plan together and show some more ambition following the fa cup win this year.

Earp going is not a big loss. The back up goalie is pretty darn good and earp is not what she used to be and has had a few howlers this past year. Handing out new contracts to aging players at mega money would have been a bit of the same stuff we have been doing.

The training facility thing is a bit embarrassing and unfortunate to be in this position but what do you do when the men's team is the priority and no hiding from that.

The issue is that the women’s team was started as a pr exercise because the club felt like they needed to have one. At best it has been treated like an afterthought by a club reluctant to invest in anything. Any player that does well at the club will look for a way out because they know that other clubs treat their women’s teams with more respect and professionalism.

Who is the back up goal keeper to earps? How often have you seen her play?
As for training facilities you have to put up with the rain to see the rainbow.

Tumble

American girl name escapes me, She is good and I have watched a few of the ladies games and she was starting, when earps was out with some sort of injury. She will start and I believe the club was always planning for earps leaving.

We also have pretty good keeper at under 18s and name scapes me but have watched him quite a number of games and expect him to make it. Anything Else:)

Ahmad, Elyh Harrison is the under 18's keeper, and he looks a real talent.

I think the keeper is the hardest position for an academy player to breakthrough into the first team.

Unlike most other positions there is only one keeper slot in the starting 11, it's probably the position with the most responsibility and accountability. Every single player makes numerous mistakes in every game, yet when a keeper makes one its the only mistake that is talked about.

Harrison will need a couple of good loans over the next few years if he is to reach his full potential. Maybe by the time he's around 21 with a two good seasons as first choice on loan he might be ready to challenge for the No.1 spot at Manchester United.
