Love these, thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much Sepp!}

No Eth, interesting.

{Ed001's Note - he never made the shortlist.}

A top post ED001.

I wonder if Luis Enrique next challenge will be in the EPL. If Guardiola goes, he could end up there?

{Ed001's Note - good shout, I could see him getting that gig and doing well with it.}

ed001,

They fit like a glove.

{Ed001's Note - very much so.}

Ed001,

I wish the same could be said about Utd. No one even EtH reallys seems like the right fit.

If course things take time, but I see EtH more as a manager sorting this out for the next manager.

{Ed001's Note - yeah I think you need that though. I am not sure anyone could really jump in and get it right just yet. But a few months down the line, it will be ready to start climbing back up.}

Ed001 surely he won't even make the longlist if you ever make one ???.

{Ed001's Note - depends on how long the list was, there are only about 20 teams per league remember....}

ED001,

I think this season I'll likely be another transition season, providing EtH gets Utd playing, otherwise he may find his position at Utd untenable should Utd go on a bad run for a prolonged period.

I'm hoping Ugarte makes an impact straight away. It's time the rest of the players stood up.

{Ed001's Note - do you not think he is only there until they find his replacement? For me, it feels like he would have been replaced in the summer if there was someone they were sure about to replace him.}

I agree there is some stock ahead of him.
When he was being appointed, one of the Ed was very positive about Eth (can't recall which one) .
In any case, if he does manage to maintain employment and continue to drag UTD out of the mess they are still in, does he not deserve credit?
He might not be on the top 10, but I would say he isn't too far away from entering it.

{Ed025's Note - but how much rope do you give him Jimbo?, the performance in the league last season was pathetic for Man Utd mate and for me it should have spelt the end for him, but he won the cup and the supporters were thinking this was the turning point and he was the best thing since sliced bread, it turns out that it was just a stay of execution imo as this season has started how the last exploits in the league ended, just my view of course..

ED001,

Ultimately results will determine how long he is at the helm for.

I do get the feeling that he is there to do the dirty work, sort the squad out etc with the help of INEOS.

My main gripe lack many others, is what is his Philosophy. He likes to play a high press, but Utd can be so open to getting caught on the counter. Surely this shouldn't be the case now.

Understandably Utd missed Martinez last season, along with Shaw at lb. That shouldn't be an excuse either for how poor Utd were.

I'm not sure whether it is down to EtH trusting. Players to play a certain way or whether the plays turn up and think, nah I can't be bothered today.

I hope EtH can get the team playing again and win the league, but I do have my doubts.

{Ed001's Note - yeah I wouldn't ever consider putting money on Ten Hag to win the league, it does seem he isn't quite able to coach the players into playing his style. At Ajax, most of them came through the youth system playing the same way, so all he really had to do was slot them together with a few chosen transfers. That is unlikely to win the league in England as the level is higher and Ajax haven't produced the players for him to sign that are good enough to win it. Though he is having a good guy at putting an Ajax team out there to find out!}

Well Southgate is free now Ed, I have a gnawing feeling it is going to happen.

Spaletti, Nagelsmann, Schmidt don't even get a mention? And what about Luis de la Fuente and Scaloni?

And lastly, and also the biggest exclusion, GARETH FREAKING SOUTHGATE ?.

{Ed001's Note - Schmidt is out of work Seamus. You should know that. I wasn't including international managers as it is a totally different game, though someone on the Leeds site asked me to do one for those, so I will do that next. I am not sure what Southgate is, but an exclusion is as good a word as any, I suppose. He certainly is not a top 10, or 20, or 50, in any list of football managers, unless it involves judging them on their ability to fail when it matters or the ability to get the media on side no matter how much of a gimp you are.}

Manchester tug of war for Enrique next summer?

{Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}
