Missed the game unfortunately as the channels i have were all showing different cl matches.

Was looking at live score and really happy to see the score line and was surprised as it started to tick up.

All and all a perfect night by the sounds of it. good football, guys who needed minutes got some and guys who need their scoring boots on for this season got some goals. Martinez, Mainoo, De Ligt, Amad, Zirksee, Mazroui got some needed rest and should be fresh for the weekend and no new injuries.

Saw the line up and interesting to see eth making line up changes in terms of mid field set up. Imo it will come very handy as the season goes on and we will make adjustments for specific games.

Hoping to keep the momentum and a win at palace could be vital even its early season. It will be much harder than tonight.


I was really impressed with Villa and Liverpool in CL. Sounds weird but want the English teams to do well. it will most likely open the door for a 5th spot in cl for next year assuming spurs, Chelsea and United also do well in the other European competitions. All 3 have plenty in their squad to make a run at winning it.

Yes it was only Barnsley, but how often have we struggled to put teams away?

Rashford and Garnacho looked very lively and Eriksen ran the show, Cas also had a very solid game. The defence and Ugarte had very little to do. Both of Rashford's goals were quality, lately we are used to seeing him miss these kind of chances.

Antony was given a chance and didn't really take it, lots of effort bit little impact.

Really enjoyable to watch, if Rash and Garnacho are in forms we will threaten anyone.

Tony - just goes to show how different people see things
Rashford a little more lively but nothing outstanding - he did his job
garnacho, his passing was short and looked laboured at times until his goal perked him up;better second half tracked well.
Antony, always an outlet and willing runner when balls over the top, master stroke from rash to give him the penalty, confidense booster? again willing to track back.
Eriksen surprising but the good thing in midfield was the tenacity and work rate of ugarte.
AAll in all a decent performance and though it was barnsley, league 1 side they were simply there due to the draw and had to be beaten to go forward. This game hopefully give confidence to a few players that needed it.

Really glad we decided to keep Eriksen after last nights performance. I would argue he controls a game better then any of our other midfielders, its just a shame he isn't 5 years younger and have the legs to do it at the very top level for 90 minutes. I know it was only Barnsley, but he will be invaluable to us for squad rotation with Europa League and Domestic Cups.

Funky, yep, we all see different things. I've given Rashford some stick this last 18 months, but I thought he was so much better last night, a threat every time he got the ball.

The difference is that Rashford looks confident and took both goals really well.

Regardless of the opposition, Rashford finishing had been shocking. Last night's game could be the catalyst for Utd. We will find out against Palace.

No idea how anyone could watch last night and think Antony was better than Rashford and Garnacho, and say that Rashford didn’t do much, if you think that then you decided that before even watching the game imo.

tony as said he was lively and took his chances well - thought he tired before being subbed but he did his job- hope he can carry on this weekend and going forward. The fact is that he generally scores in runs/ batches so heres hoping.

You have to be fair and objective rashford was good last night. The whole team were good amd seemed to be enjoying themselves for the 1st time in over a year imo.
Some of the play was really enjoyable. Yes there was a gulf in class so not getting carried away.
2 more easier fixtures before we gave spurs and villa. I hope we build on the last 2 wins 10 goals 2 clean sheets great opportunity to build some momentum.
