Hello Ed, how do you see Rashford's future playing out over the next 8-9 months?
{Ed001's Note - I actually think Amorim is the right guy to get him going again. He has that ability about him to inspire his players to play for him.}

Does Amorim not want his attacking 3 to do a lot of tracking back? if so, I don't think Rashford has shown much desire to do this the last few years!

I mean, if the guy gets a hat-trick in the next few games, it's amazing how quickly he'll be our top striker again. :p
Personally I don't see greatness in either Hojlund or Zirkzee, you can go on about how young they are but I've seen no evidence to suggest either can be the main man for this club.
Fair point, I doubt anyone could say that about Gyökeres whilst banging them in for Coventry in the Championship either.

That's the word ed, inspire.
These days, players to be inspired and to feel loved. Amorim seems like that guy.

ED001,
Do you think Alphonso Davies would be a good pub for Utd, even tho8gh he looks RM bound.
I think he would be perfect for the 3r3 formation.
{Ed001's Note - yeah he is about the best left sided option.}
5.) 19 Nov 2024
19 Nov 2024 15:44:19
Ed001,
Do you think he will join RM?
I.
{Ed001's Note - I would expect so.}

Rashford has always responded better to a manager who puts an arm around the shoulder than a stricter disciplinarian.
He probably played his best under Ole, had a good start under EtH but got worse the longer that went on.
He's posting positive things on social media after the first training session or two. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him get back to his best under Amorim.

I think we’ll see Rashford playing up the middle under Amorim. I keep saying it, but firmly believe that’s here he ought to be.

Rashford is the least of our problems. He is home grown has a ton of ability and will either kick on at United or leave for a big fee.
We will spend on midfileders this summer with ericksen leaving and cas going into his last year of contract. probably also a winger/ wing back coming in. If Hoiland and Zirksee don't perform under amorim then probably another striker coming in as well I would think.
Very excited to see us play on Sunday and saw Amorim's interview. looks like a top guy and hoping he adjusts to the pl and the united job.

By all accounts it will be a CB next with the Branthwaite thing getting some traction again. Personally felt although we need CBs for this system and a few will be leaving, other areas seem more pressing. But I also like the idea of the club going for it's specific targets, regardless of the order they fall in.

I would think inacio would be bought at much more reasonable cost comparative to BR. Don't really see the wow with br. we are most likely losing lindelof and maguire and then kind of short on right footed cb. Shaw and martinez are both excellent left sided CB. It will interesting to see what amorim does come summer.

The last contract we gave Rashford is a problem, nobody is going to pick up the £300Kpw wages if we decide to move Rashford on. His best season was under EtH in 22/ 23 when he got 30 goals in 56 games. Rashford has shown an unwillingness to track back, whether this was a tactical choice by the staff or lack of effort, only time will tell. My opinion is that in the best interest for the club and player we should look to move him on.

I hope we do get JB. He will be 1st target I think.

Diomonde the Sporting centre half should be bought if possible. Going to be a top top player.

I'm not convinced by Branthwaite either Ahmad. But by the time we've got Quenda, Gyokeres, Hjulmand and Diomande I doubt they'll be up for giving us Inacio too :p by all accounts though, Martinez fulfills the same role at Utd?
{Ed025's Note - Branthwaite is miles above what you have at the moment spenno and that includes Martinez mate, he will cost you £70-£80 million of course but there is a reason for that...hes exceptional..
16.) 20 Nov 2024
20 Nov 2024 19:07:45
I guess you're having a cheeky laugh with both of those observations Mr Ed! :D.
{Ed025's Note - im really not spenno, if you do get him he will be the new Duncan Edwards mate mark my words, thats if you can remember him of course.. :)
17.) 20 Nov 2024
20 Nov 2024 19:21:51
If he signs he will finish his career at united as a club legend imo. I really hope we get him.
Salford I agree he like luke super player too.
Ed025 I think maguire would be a good signing for Everton do you agree?
{Ed025's Note - im not a fan to be honest Ken, we have Tarkowski and Keane who are of a similar ilk (bang average) and O,Brian who is young and talented i think, we will need a replacement for Jarrad but who is the problem mate..
18.) 20 Nov 2024
20 Nov 2024 20:06:50
I remember the last Duncan Edwards we got, the 'future England captain', they said.
Don't mind Branthwaite in all honesty and it looks like he's the one they want, so who am I to suggest otherwise. Would you go for some kind of Maguire / Branthwaite swap Ed, loan or otherwise in Jan? Not comparing them and I doubt HM's wages would be another problem for Everton to worry about, but seems both could be on the move sooner rather than later?
{Ed025's Note - we want £70-80M for Branthwaite spenno, if we take Harry we will want £100m mate, thats how highly i rate him.. :)

You can't be serious. BR a legend. Jesus English football and their views of their footballers is so deluded. Duncan Edwards is turning in his grave, god bless the man. He will go for 40 mill in 2 years.
I Irish lad at Brighton was 100 mill too 12 months ago. They will be lucky if they get 45-50 mill for him. I actually rate him though.
Rews
Name a winger in European football with a 30 goal season in the last 5 years besides, Mbappe and maybe salah I think maybe done it once. Some of the stuff said here is so far from what the metrics are. A winger that scores you 25 goals a season would be worth 150/ 200 mill in the transfer market. A 15 goal a season winger on a consistent basis is like gold dust and very few around. salah is exceptional imo and one of a kind given his consistent numbers.
Saka who everyone rates and is a wonderful player has scored 16/ 14/ 11 goals last 3 years. This year he has 3 so far with quarter of the season gone.
Vini Jr best output in la liga is 17 goals playing for the best team and in a less competitive league.
300k wage for rash is never going to be an issue if we decide to move him. There will plenty of top teams who will pay that including some in the pl. Go check out the wage bill of the big European clubs and you will be shocked what some players get paid.
{Ed025's Note - its nothing to do with him being English Ahmad, jarrad is special mate and trust me i do know my onions, by the way BR is is a very weird way to abbreviate Jarrad Branthwaite???, on other matters i know you think the sun shines out of Marcus,s arse but for 2 years now he has been an absolute disgrace to himself and the club, i happen to like the lad but lets not defend the indefensible my friend..
20.) 20 Nov 2024
20 Nov 2024 20:45:49
Fair play Ed. I actually think HM would do a great job at Everton, he’s not Beckenbauer no but gets a lot of unecessary flack IMO. But in the end I think (like a few Utd players) wages make a move really tough.
{Ed025's Note - wages are certainly the problem spenno, if he was very good im sure you would have a few suitors mate but the fact is he is cumbersome and i have seen milk turn quicker, just my opinion of course..

lol I don't think the sunshine comes out of his arse. I was at an event last night and ran into Evra and Silvestre and we talked quiet a bit about united now united back when they were playing, amorim, players etc etc.
Its always interesting to hear what some of these ex players think of the current squad, players and managers. They all generally really rate him as one of our best players. They blame the ownership and structure of things for why we are where we are and in general think bankers ruin football teams.
They did curb my enthusiasm about Amorim and going forward until such time we buy some of the best players in the market and don't see much changing till then. Silvestre's view was we are currently 4th or 5th choice for the best players and its years of who we have bought and quality of squad and even the good players look poor because of what's around them.
So when people talk about spending 70 mill on BR its no starter for me and a bit of the same from the past. He is no where near being one of the best CB's in football if you look around European football. Even looking in the Pl you can argue there are quiet a few better CB's
They all do punditry but never say this stuff in public and interesting to hear stuff when they speak freely. Not going to get into names but both don't think much of quite few players in the current squad.
{Ed025's Note - im actually a big fan of Rashford Ahmad and think hes a very talented young guy, but i cant dismiss his form and body language over the past 2 years mate, he has been awful and very sulky and i agree that its probably more to do with the club and the players around him (and ETH of course) but he has fallen off a cliff from where i think he should be career wise..
22.) 21 Nov 2024
21 Nov 2024 11:33:45
I do reckon a great many top coaches would fancy taking Rashford, simply because of his scintillating form in that season a few years back, and trying their hand at getting that out of him again.
His position clearly is up for debate. He's undoubtedly more effective on the left. But in Amorim's training session he played up front. You could argue that Hojlund and Zirkzee was absent from that session so there wasn't much choice, but I reckon there's a good chance he goes with that on sunday. But it's vital that he ramps up the energy if he has any intention of hanging around. I don't know how much of the moping around and body language is an issue that can be ironed out, he's been this way for a couple of years.

Heyup 25!
On Jarrad, his progressive carries and passing stats aren’t that great but defensively off the chart.
Is this due to Everton’s playing style?
What’s his weak spots?
{Ed025's Note - he actually carries the ball well UR, when he is allowed to of course because our manager does not like players going forward, he reads the game very well and has great positional sense and is strong in the air, if i was being picky i would say 1 on 1 with a very quick forward could possibly be his Achilles heel, but that could be because he tries to cover for others around him mate..

He goes to ground too often in the box. Good ones stay on their feet.
