Would be crazy to start Yoro.

I suspect Dalot will be in there along with Erickson given his recent form instead of Ugarte. Only other possibility at this early stage is Mainoo?

Caveat being that’s not what I would want!

Slightly controversial perhaps, but I'd go for Mount alongside Ugarte. Or Mainoo if Mount isn't fully fit.

Casemiro doesn't have the legs for this role anymore IMO.

I'm less interested in the team he puts out on Sunday than I am the team he puts out on the first day of next season.

Once he's had a chance to assess the players he has, train them, and bring in a few new ones to round out his team.

He is not going to be playing our wingers as wingbacks. said harder to teach wingers to defend compared to fullbacks going forward.

Ahamd, I wouldn't be so sure that he won't play wingers at wingback.

In his Sporting squad this season he had two players who could be considered fullbacks, Fresneda and Reis. Fresneda has played 74 minutes across three sub appearances. while Reis has made four starts, all at LCB.

While the players to start and play the vast majority of the minutes in the wingback roles for Sporting this season under Amorim are all wingers who have been converted to wingbacks (Catamo, Araujo, Quenda and Nuno Santos) .

Initially he tended to use fullbacks in the wingback positions, but over the past 18 months or so he has tended to use more natural wingers in that role.

Maybe he'll do something similar at United, start with more traditional defenders while the rest of the squad acclimatise to the new system. Before eventually moving more towards more naturally attacking players once the rest of the team have mastered the system. Or maybe his approach has changed over time and he now just values the attacking threat over defensive solidity.

Consider his Sporting side had scored 39 and conceded only 5 goals in the league over the 11 games he has managed them this season while exclusively playing with wingers as wingbacks, this would suggest that maybe he thinks that attack is the best form of defence.

Scoring 3.5 goals a game while conceding 0.45 goals a game while only fielding 3 special-ist defenders makes for interesting reading.

Mounts best season at Chelsea was playing off the striker in the 343.

He suits a similar role under Amorin as his workmate and pressing ability really helps the team start pressing from the front.

The width in Amorins team cones from the Wi back not the front three. I would not be surprised in time if Garnacho fills the left WB role.
