Guys yes Morrison and pogba have impressed in reserves and last year in youths but everyday day I here there names being mentioned .
Why aren't they on squad
How come there not starting

It's all very annoying now. You guys put so much faith and pressure On them.

They obciously are not ready. If they couldn't hold a place in the carling cup team then why Put them in the PL and in Europe?

Some of yous have such high expectations and I'm afraid that no one here will be extremely satisfied when they get a chance!

According to Andy Green United will only lose between £15m-£17m after going out of the CL early. We earned 53m euros in the CL last season as runner up, this season we will earn between 33.4m euros to 36.5m euros. So we haven't took that much of a financial hit, not like many believe.

Firstly, well done to the boys....

You can only beat what is put in front of and finally we did that with some style and rigger...

The only criticism that I have is not actually to do with those who played......
what the hell have Gibson, Giggs & Park done in recent games to merit a place in the squad.... the sooner they are left out and replaced by a couple of the youth boys the better for the club now and in the future....
seriously, pobga and morrison should be getting some game time or loaned out in Jan..... look at jones......... both pogba and morrison are 1 year younger than jones and if they can get that experience between now and the end of the year that jones got at Blackburn then next season we could have something very special

Red man your not The worst of it but I don't appreciate the thought police comment. We have problems no getting away from it. And when I talked of whiners it wasn't aimed at all the constructive critisisms. It was the this players crap not fit to year the shirt dead wood we didn't buy we didn't buy. You've been there before but I don't agree with your doom and gloom were going down. We have youth and in terms of cleverly we are not relying on him if anything it only shows we need back up for him because we found a formula that works for decent attacking football. We have plenty of very good youth. Valencia supposed to be finished. Played well today. Evans not worth the shirt had a decent game carrick move him on ran the game. I bet even park will step up with some form sometime. And fletch can make runs into the box can come up with the odd goal. We will see better from him. I ask you is there anything wrong with me looking at it like that? Cause you got to admit. It could go your way. It could go mine. I choose this view you choose yours.and I believe that the negativity from the stands does have an affect or even from these pages. I'm trying to get behind my club in trying times. Not act like we have a God given right to see great football. And by the way my opinion. We pay the money to support the club not to have right to great football ..constantine..

It isn't propoganda or american have a nice day niceties. 1 Its from a genuine belief of the bigger picture 2 I think the players we have can step up more. Personally i think its disgraceful the lack of belief in the players the manager and club. ..constantine..

A free flowing game in which Wolves gave us space in front of their back four to work in and we used it.

Jones continues to impress and Valencia had a better game. Rio looked more like Rio of old. Carrick had a very good game and it was good to see Friars getting time.

The problems still remain and a win against Wolves is not going to hide what the issues are. Of course pointing out the shortcomings makes us whiners according to Sydney and Constantine , incredible.

We always bounce back stronger, now we need to get Cleverley and Hernandez back and we just need to get a few more players to complete the team and squad. Three and we would be sorted. Must say tho, Rooney played awesome, Nani played awesome, Carrick played great and controlled the game and Jones and Small turned out yet more class performances. Good to see Zeki make his Premier League debut too. Gilly

Even based on todays good performance i think we still have some obvious problems. I would just like to mention though how outstanding Carrick was - i thought he was absolute class. But, we have very good wingers, and regardless of what you say they do put very good balls into the box - we just have no one to put them away. So for me, this January i'd be glad to just see a strong powerful center forward who has great movement and can compete aerially with the likes of Kompany in the area. For me the players is Cavani, an all round striker, but we may have to explore different options. Llorente would be a more realistic target and at only 26 he has his best years ahead of him. So thats the first area i would like to see altered slightly.

Secondly a goal scoring central midfielder is needed, if you look at our goals its normally only Rooney, Hernandez and Nani that get the majority of them 0 with some from Welbeck and other areas. But we have nothing consistent in the middle in terms of goals scoring. Thats where i think Sneijder would have been useful...but i dont think he is the right player for us anymore, not at his pricetag. Equally a real young talent like Eriksen may not be productive for some of our young players. And the player needs to fit into a 4-4-2 formation - so on reflection the afordable, and realistic targets have to be Montolivo, Marchisio or the best option being Martinez. Martinez could definatly moulded into a first class all around midfielder who is not just solid...he has that spanish flair that we would love in our team.

Better performance today from the players. It looked like there was les complacency in our play today and I hope we continue like that. For too long, we have been going into games thinking we will win without breaking a sweat. That has to stop and hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

The whole team worked much better today, and Nani was much more dangerous. He needs to do that every week. Phil Jones gets better and better. He can play anywhere, and at 16.5m, he is an absolute bargain. I wonder if Rooney getting his ban reduced will help him with his form? It's hardly coincidence that he went off the boil after the 3 game ban he got. 2 great goals, especially the second one. Antonio Valencia looked like the 2009/10 player he was. Taking players on and getting 3 assists. Smalling, Ferdinand and, in parts, played very well. De Gea looked a little shaky, but again it's understandable. His talent is undeniable, and he will be a very reliable goalkeeper in the next few years.

It's the first step towards getting back on track, but we need a fresh face in January.

As Fergie says, we do have enough depth in the squad to cover defensively. To be honest, i think we've had the best out of Vidic, he's too slow. Time for the next generation to show how good they are (ie; Jones and Smalling, not Evans !). The problem is this is the worst centre of midfield with the exception of Cleverley that i can remember. Don't want to rush into a signing in Jan or panic buy but we need two quality players bringing in before next season and just hope for second at best this season.

Good first half

Im actually enjoying the game seems like its been a while since i said that

Nani is returning to form looked ok in the week but has looked a danger today.

Carick is bossing the game as he should when given time on the ball hes good against lesser teams to be honest we missed him in the week he protects that back four better then anyone else we have.

Rooney passing good but I cant understand why he has to keep trying to chip the goalie its somthing he trys all the time rather then put his foot through it and it stops him scoring.

Smalling for me is special he has great feet hes quick gets stuck in I think hes a top top talent people saying we need a RB are crazy

Now for a shock Welbeck still getting back to fitness and getting games under his belt but today some of his passes in the final third have been class ive counted 3 perfectly waited passes lets hope he really kicks on now is his chance.

Jones for me has to stay at cm at least until clevs is back he ads speed and steal and gets forward I would like to see him in there with clevs.

Rio might not be playing his best football but at least hes fit and playing week in week out at the moment if hes gonna get back to his best he needs games.

Velencia for me just not got a footballing brain at all its like hes been programed to do one thing if he trys anything else he short circuits.

Divvy the red

If only we had got the draw in the week we cud have turned this season round but our record in europe is very good as of late so we can allow one blip I still firmly believe we will win the title. If we win the europa is that such a bad thing? not what we want but still a good trophy

Just a quick thought, in 2006 January transfer window we made possibly our two biggest January transfers in vidic and evra, and this season was the last time we crashed out of the CL so a player being brought in this Jan woudnt be too surprising, especially seeing how badly we need some creativity and or a solid defender. Food for thought

I'll support SAF as long as he's at the club. But for f*ck sake, he's taking the p*ss putting Macheda and Giggs (played 90 minutes mid week and is 38) ahead of Morrison, if I were Ravel I'd be fairly f*cking annoyed at SAF's blind faith in two players who have contributed very little this season. Not to mention Park and of course Young (thought he was injured)

Can Pogba please start today Fergie? If he isn't good enough to play against Wolves at home at the age of 18, then he will never be good enough to play against the top teams. Get him in now or we risk losing him! Fletcher alongside him please so he can express his creative freedom, thanks.

Watching Soccer Saturday.

Le Tissier reckons Uniteds Prem all over with the loss of Vidic-Could be Right

Merson-Doesn't rate us one little bit

Nicholas-Balanced opinion thinks our experience is lacking Retirements etc-Probably Right

Thompson-Thinks we will be back-Probably he is hoping the opposite but has to remain impartial

One valid thing that I believe now has come out of this nightmare we are having. We have 5 games between now and January 1st, we could be either still be in it or right out of it. I am not over confident particularly with going to West London twice, and our home form now letting us down also.

How ambitious are the owners, if the games go our way for the remainder of December and we sign the right people in January all might not be lost. Time to see if the Ronaldo money is still there, because regardless of what anybody tells me, we spent the prize money for the premiership in the summer and we have actually saved on wages, with retirements and sales

I'd like to see United go out all attack. Try to bring back the form with which we began our season.

Lindegaard (cant afford more de gea mistakes, give him time to settle)

Jones (as he'll be against Jarvis)

Smalling (hes a great CB why play him out of position, Do we play vidic at rb or lb ?

Evans (hes a s**tty defender we all know, but playing ferdinand would get him injured)

Fryers - has potential, and with Evra playing awful, its time to test him.

Nani

Carrick

Fletcher (play him in the middle, he isnt playing great as a striker)

Rooney (as a left winger, young isnt doing the job well, and some touches on the ball and space could well do the job for rooney, cutting in etc)

Welbeck

Morrison (give the guy a start to see if he could do something, we're lacking the spark and noone is in form, and he could well be the answer, when hazard and goetze can do the same at his age then why not him ?, SAF have the guts to try, we need young and vibrant to win us games)

#It was the young legs of Ando and Cleverly and Jones that helped us get from 2-0 to 2-3 up vs City.

Okay I am sick of reading your posts about not winning anything and the season being a disaster.

We are coming second to city by five points.

We are in th midst of changing our team.( 6 new players challenging for places than last year)

We have gained 9 points out of a possible 12 against top 5 clubs.

A lot of players injured.

+ it's only december.

Remember this post in 5 months when united are leading the PL by 3 points, and are in the FA cup final or europa

Is there any chance we could offer macheda, pogba or morrison to bolton on loan for second half of season. They have a lot of injuries not doing well in league and look at the players wilshire and sturridge turned into during there loan moves there? Only reason for not loaning such players out is in my opinion to treat the europa league as a dummy cup and play youngsters in that. But the way this seasons going I don't think we can take any cup for granted :( what's ur thoughts? Mostly interested to see what people think about trying to get youngsters to bolton.

Bit of a debate guys here. If (and I'm just using this as an example) Sir Alex was to retire at the end of this season, who would you want as the next Manchester United manager?
I personally really want Mourinho, I rate him as best in the world at the moment, won the league everywhere he has gone and looks set to do it again this year. All the players seem to graft their hearts out for him and he brings the best out of people (drogba, lampard, essien, ronaldo, ozil to name a few) plus he is good at bringing confidence bk to players, look how well benzema is doing now.
I kno alot of people will say Guardiola, but if u really think about it, he's never managed a team that hasn't got lionel messi in it, I think things wud b alot different if that little fella never existed.

So go on guys, who do u want?

There are many people here saying that Pogba and Morrison should be played in the first team. I think they should first be loaned to a championship side.

Now i know this will be a bad example, but Jonjo Shelvey of Liverpool was not at all top drawer. But, he went on loan to Blackpool, where he put in some really good performances against team like Leeds. Now , a lot of people were saying that Pogba and Morrison need the first team players to shine. But, Shelvey did not have any SUPERSTAR alongside him at Blackpool. I was scrolling through the reserves results yesterday and saw that he had scored a brace for the Liverpool Reserves.

I think Pogba should be similarly loaned for 6 months to a championship side. Then, noting his progress, he could be sent on a loan to a Premier League side or hopefully directly integrated in the first team.

given current form and vidics injury do you think we should put young on the right so he can get used to going past defenders again. would then use nani on the left and valencia at right back (would mean jones can stay in mid and cb pairing of rio and smalling and evans stays away from starting lineup!)

dags
ps i am aware that jones can play @rb but feel with carrick he solidifys our midfield like keane and butt used to (as in 1protects as other drives forward)

if valencia were to improve his defensive side do you think he could move back permanently and use the twins as wingers? i ask coz valencia has a much better build than the twins and is not injured as often so would get a more settled back line
also de gea could use his natural tongue with him and help avoid mistake like the second bassel goal

Looking at some of the "available" players in jan and I think the following could all do job for us.

Erik Pieters - Dutch Lb solid and defensive- £5m
Jan Vertogen (sp) - Belgian Cb who can also play in mid £12m
Lukas Podoloski - can play Lw Am or Cf almost identical in style to RVP est £12-18m
Rodwell- £15-20m
Moutiniho (sp)- am £20m
Marvin Martin - £10m
Sissoko - box to box player £15m
Mvilla dm £15-20m

Oh and before Liverpool supporters come on and tell me I will be supporting United in the Blue Square League, I don't care, I love my club like you do, and I will give my club unwaivering support, no matter what!

I wish Vidic and Lucas a speedy recovery, as there is nothing worse (in football) than class players suffering long-term injuries!

are you SERIOUS? You an person if you think welbeck aint good enough. If he aint good enough, then neither is jone, smalling, clevery, henandez or de gea. They are all young and will improve. Personally, id pick welbeck over chicha as he has more to offer.
Welbeck will be part of united's first team for a long time, if you dont like that then maybe you should look for another club to support or look forward to seeing alot of welbeck.

I think this is a major test in terms of the Glazer ownership. Vidic out is a huge blow, and with Rio's historic injury problems, if we really are a top club, we need to go into the market to cover our centre defence. It is too much to ask Smalling and Jones to carry the rest of the season without support, and Evans isn't good enough imo. Cahill is the obvious realistic short and/or long-term answer. Lets see what happens.
