Historically reliable Spanish radio station Cadena COPE have reported that Thiago has signed for Bayern.

Strootman has also agreed to sign for Roma. {Ed007's Note - 'Historically reliable', does that mean they know the dates wars started and stuff like that?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I reckon 99% of the people who post on this site have never heard of that radio station!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bond - That cracked me up so much my brother came storming in to shut up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta love the eds lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey folks

Long time admirer first time posting.

Like most of the people on this website I really want thiago to sign and this news about thiago signing with Munich made me think.

So I did what anybody would do and looked up the radio station.

It's a pro Madrid radio station! The fun doesn't stop there! Last season they accused the Barcelona team of doping and drug use lol!

I know my opinion probably means squat but I reckon this is just a bit of good old fashioned media mischief.

Also glad to see the Edds are back on scene.

Hassan.

Agree0 Disagree0

The title of "historically reliable" came from none other than the radio station itself.

I've got to say if the news just breaking on thiago and strootman is true then that's disappointing as they would have been perfect for us. Worried about what the plan b would be as there is not anyone around like thiago. Although it seems like we've been used to do the running for ze Germans. Anyone who wants fellaini over strootman needs a head check. Usually to be optimistic but a bit gutted. Mr e

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why are people believing a rumour about him going to Bayern with no quotes or anything when there have been 100 stories of him signing for united in the last week?

Agree0 Disagree0

GDS

Stories are stories whether it be us or Bayern however despite weeks of speculation with us as supposed "front runners" it hasn't happened which does make you wonder

Typical transfer window

All the hype about signings is just MEH. There will be NO signings. If we just face facts then all the nonsense rumours will fade away. I can't stand to see another a eider saga of will he won't he

Our club is laden with debt, nothing will change that.
Maybe if we had a Russian tycoon or a prince of Abi dabi then we can can start talking about transfers.

Way I see it is glaziers want more money coming in than going out. Don't believe me then look at there stats for American football more out than in.

I wish we could compete in the transfer window

MU4LIFE

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dude seriously, what is wrong with you we can easily compete in the transfer market. The club is not laden with debt at all it hardly effects the club in any way. If you want a Russian tycoon who just chops and changes managers go support Chelsea and if you want an Asian prince who chops and changes managers and players or whatever go support Man City. We are Manchester United and we are a self sufficient club who build our own success.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a regular reader of this site and don't post very often but I have to now, I am sick of some people on here questioning our transfer stuff and why we haven't bought anyone yet, dude it's the 11th of July! And as for everyone saying thiago is away to bayern all I have to say is for weeks he has been linked with us and as soon as one radio station says bayern have got him chaos kicks in, we are united and we can challenge the market as well as anyone just keep that in mind. Utd4Life

Agree0 Disagree0

Abi Dabi, didn't he used to play at Arsenal?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is it with some united fans?
Or are they Scousers in disguise?
I always read posts on here about how our team can't compete this. no midfielder this. centreback this.
We have a team that can compete. we won the EPL for crying out loud!we got robbed in the champions league. Consistency is key to the success of the club. not this chop and dice crap by oil rich and tycoon owned teams. now grow a pai plssssss.

In my opinion a raised bid for Leighton Baines is investing money in the wrong position.
Evra will be at Manchester Unites next year and Alex Buttner will offer plenty of cover and also we do not know what lessons have been learned by Fabio the Silva, just look at the progress of his twin brother. If I remember correctly I think Rafael has been quoted as saying that Fabio is the more talented of the two. If the season kicks off and we have acquired Zaha (excited), anyone with a different way off working with the ball to set Kagawa alight, even if that player is a determined Wayne Rooney or a new man then that will do. We don't need much, we will rule Europe next year.

1 attacking midfielder - maybe Alacantra

1 defender - Maybe Garay but necessary really.

Lets not get greedy, play too much Football Manager or whinge.

Lets keep the red flag flying high and we will party like 99

Keep it Sweet

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Keep it Sweet - I disagree about it being money invested in the wrong position. Evra was by far our weakest player last year and the year before and his cover is not good enough to step up, Leighton Baines is a top class left back with an immense delivery meaning more crosses for the forwards and RVP doesn't have to take the corners. Thiago is better off playing deeper dictating the play and not in a forward position and Garay is a very good ball playing centre back who will allow us too play a higher line and is still young for a defender but has top level experience.

Can I just ask why mate? We are the premier league champions and I can't wait to see how the new united are going to look next season.

You are deluded if you think we won't sign any of our targets this summer, I would expect 3 maybe 4 players in especially if any players leave.

Your posts are getting worse and worse by the day, there is no humour to them, no passion for the club, it sounds like you don't really love united or enjoy discussing them, so could you just answer me why you bother posting on this site?

I get the feeling more and more every day that you aren't really a united fan, I have seen posts from scousers trying to wind us up that say more positive things than you do about our club.

Maybe I just struggle as I read this site and I hope people can feel my passion for the club, I can feel the passion of Sydney, gav, weggy, shappy, moon, red man, zee (wherever he may be), even nomidfield it is clear is a massive fan and kloot who may show it in a different way but clearly loves the club. I have missed a few off here but you know who you are, and with you boarshaw I just don't see where the passion is, what exactly do you want? Why do you support the club when you get no happiness from it.

Supporting Manchester United in the last 20 years I feel so lucky and everyone who has followed them through thick and thin must have enjoyed being a fan, so when I see posts like yours I just don't get where you are coming from.

Enlighten me? {Ed007's Note - I wonder where Zee went, I liked him, and he certainly wore his heart on his sleeve. Maybe he is doing exams or something.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GDS - I have been reading this site for about 4 years now on a daily basis and I have just registered and this is my first post and I can not agree more with what you put. I do not understand how a so called passionate supporter can sit there and say he is spending money on decking instead and be so cocky about it instead of his season ticket for the so called club he loves based on our transfer activity. Boarshawred - go support Man City or Chelsea if you base your support on Transfer activity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 - Hi I would just like to say how much I appreciate you and the other Ed's influence on these pages and the voluntary effort you put in and it is noticed by the people who care. (On another note) Zee was brilliant for this site and he was so positive and everyone enjoyed his input. {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much George and welcome to the site.}

Agree0 Disagree0

George,

Glad I helped you want to sign up and post, get involved in the banter, it's quite addictive and a nice little community we have here. Everybody has their own opinion and everybody's opinion is valid, sometimes they just make no sense to me.

Does anyone think the thiago deal will happen? It's been dragging on a while now. The longer it drags on the more less likely I feel it will happen. Looking at the squad for the tour we def need a quality midfielder.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I believe he will go Bayern or chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Bore,

There's a surprise. I think he has 2 options, united or stay where he is. I would say 90% united 10% barca, we just need to agree the tax fees.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard all over again utd court him and Chelsea get him into bed. no value again anyone?. andog

Im a massive fan of the site but rarely post but I just want to give my two cents on the thiago situation from what I have read on the site and various sources so far. As it stands Thiago wants to join Manchester United the problem is negotiating with Barca. Problem being is the buyout cluase in Thiagos contract is not as straight forward as some might like to think, basically Thiago has to buy out his own clause at 17m so Manchester United would have to give him that plus tax, tax on that being around 7m so Manchester United would rather deal with Barca to find a equally benefitng slolution but Barca don't want to play ball due to them being resiliant in loosing a future star. I personally think Manchester United will still sign Thiago but may need to bite the bullet and just pay a bit more like some have said on the site.

Utd Dan {Ed007's Note - No, you have been misinformed.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The eds always say its best not to discuss finance, I have a feeling this is definitely one of them occasions, it's very confusing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry. But as I said i'm just going off what I've read, I don't pretend to be in the know. But I am interested to see what everyone else thinks on the matter and if we will actually sign him I really hope we do as many on this great site do. Being as its gone a bit quiet on the site latley.

P. s I really do hope the eds come back soon they do a really fantastic job and do not get the thanks that they deserve and hope they cone back soon. Fingers crossed!

Any1 else fed up of this transfer window already,, just seams like same old story. Where never willing to pay the asking price for quality players. It sounds like we av now missed out on thiago to bayern because we can't even pay the release clause. Where not going for strootman because where looking at cheaper options, we don't want to pay the baines asking price,,, makes me laugh now when we hear Ronaldo, bale, cavanni, falcao rumours. Asiff we would pay that. Very sorry for the rant, I will always back united

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No I love the transfer window, checking sites and then finally getting all excited when we announce the big signing. Thiago won't go to Bayern I have no idea where that daft rumour has come from, it makes no sense other than pep being there I suppose.

I think if we want strootman we will get him, none of this is to do with money.

Just worrying me that no one has been signed yet!

I believe no top class quality player will come and play for moyes that's why he is holding on to rooney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sid

Nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Sir Alex was the only selling point for Van Persie, Rooney, Kagawa, Ronaldo, etc.?

Of course not! The players chose Manchester United because of the club, the fans and the team. Not the manager, yes Sir Alex can convince some players more than David Moyes but players will join us for the history and the club as a whole.

We will be making signings this summer, yes they maybe taking longer than expected but don't worry.

Last summer we signed RVP last minute didn't we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god, do you actually believe this or just posting as a wind up?

Agree0 Disagree0

So before he even identifies his own targets an buy sayin Rooney isn't for sale no top players will play for his are you serious chap! We are working behind closed doors on our targets an they will take time. don't get me wrong I would love to see a new player in already but we haven't end of really, so just sit an wait instead of completely jumping the gun an posting nonsense this page is already covered in this sort of drivel

I may be leaving my hand out for an almighty slap here but is there any reason we haven't sold Anderson yet? I mean he has added nothing to the team or even squad for that matter in the last few years and in my opinion (which obviously doesn't count) there's a spot there I would love to see filled by a young potential or a genuine quality consistant midfielder. why are we wasting our time on a player who tbh seems washed up and hopeless (possibly a bit too harsh) that can't seen to get it together! Opinions welcome?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have to agree. I can only think the fact we paid over the odds for him and cannot move him on is the reason he is still there. I know he has had injuries but he isn't exactly pushing for a regular spot. I've got an app on my phone if he needs a cab to the airport!

I know that moyes has said that there is a lot of work going on behind the sceenes but it would have been great to have had both strootman and thiago in the tour squad. I just hope that our penny pinching does not cost us potential signings again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi I read this site a lot just started to post. I enjoy the input from everyone and sometimes it's interesting to get other people's views. I'm wondering everyone wants to get a defensive midfielder. But what happened to tunicliffe?

What is with all the negative comments regarding our transfers.

Everyone knows united do there business quitely behind close doors.

Our targets would have been identified months ago and moyes will have in mind who he wants and the board will be doing all they can to get them.

and as for our rivals are doing there business quick. who exactly have they bought that are world class and will have a massive effect on the title race

Imo my fellow reds just relax and sit back and don't worry about other teams, enjoy pre season and look forwar to the new era.

Moyes has already said were working on sigings so to me that is all I need to hear.

Opions welcome guys

SPB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm with you, i've not been on here much lately, as the whinging about transfers is getting boring. We all want some quality signings but the window has only been open 10 days, you'd think it was the 31st August, going by some of the suicidal posts on here.

We will make some very good signings, it won't be Ronaldo, Lewandowski etc but there will be 2 maybe 3 quality signings, aswell as another youngster I would say. Thiago will join, depending on how Moyes wants to use Jones will determine whether we go for another CM in my eyes. Garay looks quite likely as Rio's long term replacement and I would say another wider attacking player, especially if Rooney goes.

Lets calm the negative posts just a little guys, the signings will come. Our rivals aren't setting the world alight transfer wise either yet. In my eyes Spurs signing Paulinho has been the best deal so far by any PL team and they won't even be challenging for top spot.

Brendan81

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people are anxious because of what has happened in the last 3 years. We have been heavily linked with players that would really help the team and everybody says its a done deal. Then these transfers get dragged out and then another team swoops in and takes the player. Thiago looks just like a host of other potential great transfers that go up in smoke

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree brenden, such a long way to go yet regarding transfer window, imo I imagine we will sign someone either during the tour or just before the rio testamomial.

Get thiago, and garay and if roomey goes which personally I think he will stay ill go for someone more experiemced like defoe. just my opinion.

I also think we will try again for baines and I really like falaine (spelling) box to box and really strong, he would add a whole different aspect to our game if needed!

Not a rumour but just an observation. Christian Eriksens agent has now said that he is prepared to leave Ajax if the buying team can improve him. Surely he should be worth at least an enquiry, wouldn't cost the earth, is only 21 & a very good player. MIDDLETON RED. {Ed007's Note - Personally I think he is off to Barcelona and Bojan going to Ajax on loan was a sweetener for it.}

Centrally, would people be happy with options of:

Carrick, Jones, Cleverly, Anderson, Thiago, Giggs, Fletcher, (Powell)?

If we are to get Garay this implies Jones has a year or two in midfield until space free's up at the back with Vidic & Ferdinand going. With seemingly no interest in Strootman, little in Fellaini and very little elsewhere apart from Thiago I cannot see much movement. Kondogbia perhaps? Is it true that we have put in a bid for him ed? {Ed007's Note - Not that I know of Fresh. Arsenal Chelsea and Juventus were interested to differing levels and Man City see him as a long-term replacement to Yaya Toure.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed. It's going to be very interesting to see how things develop over the coming weeks.

have just seen squad for the tour and very disappointed that there's no new signings on it. doesn't reflect too well on moyes and new chief exec that no one has signed. I know transfer window has just opened, but nearly every other club has signed up players, or had them already lined up and don't agree with previous posts that moyes only started on july 1st and was on hols so couldn't sign anyone. both pellegrini and mourinho ok'd transfers when they weren't officially in charge.
I don't see many signings coming and definitly no top quality players as moyes just wouldn't attract them the way fergie could.
expect a couple of average players, who will be hyped up and then flop. ie baines.
Vidic not on tour to me says he will be sold, with a less than great replacement in Garay coming in.
Looks like a battle for fourth next year.

depressed red

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All the early signings have been made by monaco and PSG. Chelsea and City are the only 'other' teams we need to worry about and they both declared interest in players before confirming their managers. United are taking their time because Moyes wants to make his own signings, rather than players identified by Fergie. This can only be a good thing as it shows that he wants to put his own stamp on the team. I also think this is why interest in Strootman seems to have tailed off. I honestly think that there is still time for United to make a few very good signings. Have faith.

Matt

Agree0 Disagree0

This sounds like a bit of a WUM or ABU?

Still though, seeing are you're probably a 'pool fan "Depressed Red" seems about the right name for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you. First of all, we were told transfer window doesn't open till 1st of July and all the time, other clubs were buying players. Then we were told wait until Moyes starts on the 1st of July. Then we were told wait until Moyes holds his first press conference last Friday. An no doubt, we will be told wait till Moyes gets back from tour, by which time, Thiago would have stayed at Barca or gone to Bayern, Strootman and all the other targets would have magically disappeared and signed for other clubs. ANd we will be left with Baines and Fellaini.
Welcome to the new season!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you had been taken notice of my recent post regarding incoming signing you would not be too surprised at where we are now it happens every year dilly dally hope to get quality for next to nothing then we panic buy ie 7m for bebe has I have said don't hold your breath on buying the quality we obviously need and i'm not a bitter Liverpool fan just a very unhappy united fan

Rumour has it that Fulham are being bought out by a foreign billionaire. Are they going to be spending well this summer? They haven't done much business, but have released a lot of players. Berbatov has said he wants to stay so what will they be spending this summer?

Sydney!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sydney!

The owner in question is Shah Khan and he also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars in my home state of Florida (I'm here now). If he does buy it don't let his fortune confuse you as he doesn't spend ANYTHING on that NFL franchise.

The part that will make sense is he is also a very eccentric personality and will fill the shoes of Al Fayed perfectly.

I doubt they will be much of a concern this year.

Did anyone listen to David Moyes interview on talksh1t? I got to be fair he impressed me with how he spoke, I think its obvious that he doesn't want to rooney to leave as do most United fans, however I think this is down to rooney himself really. Anyway he did say they have are working on a few transfers behind the scene, hopefully we might get 1 or 2 top players and same again with some youngsters. So hopefully but he just came across well and sounded very excited about building and winning for the future. So come on let's get behind him.

Just wondering, can a player join up with the touring squad if signed whilst we are away? I expect deals for Thiago & Garay will be completed whilst we are away and your and I would assume they would be flown out to join up with the squad, or is this against club policy?

The interesting is that when ever moyes is askd about our transfer targets he mentions that manutd will always be after best players in the world. I thnk we can expct world class players in this summer

Sid

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wouldnt read too much into it sid. he also said he's luckier than most because he's taking over the champions of england so it may be that he thinks our squad is fine.
I do think we will make one or two signings but probably not marquee signing like bale or ronnie.
Tbh i'd be happy with thiago and fellaini at least then jones can focus on being a cb.
I think the reason for our lack of movement in transfer market atm is because we don't know what's happening with rooney and the outcome of that could change our targets

I think it wil be hard for us to replace rooney in current transfer window with majority of strikers joining other clubs.

Falcao- monaco
Cavani- psg/chelsea
Lewondoski-bayern
Higuain- arsenal (not an option though)
David villa- athletico madrid

There are no big name to replace eooney and if sell him and RVP gets injured then we could be in trouble. So I may be we won't sell roney due to lack of option.

Sid

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think Rooney needs a like for like replacement. We have Kagawa for that anyway. Thiago will also be able to play further forward if need be. The Rooney money should be reinvested in a world class winger in my opinion.

The one and only thing Nani is missing right now is CONFIDENCE. In fact he has zero faith in his abilities. What a player he could have been? Its a shame if such a talent goes for 12m. I wish our wingers were initially not told to stop taking their man on.

Deeps,

Zero faith in his abilities? I would say he thinks he has ability that he hasn't got and thought he was going to be the next Ronaldo. One thing I would say he does not lack is confidence.

I have a different take on this mate. When he came in, he was certainly not short of confidence. Infact he chanced his arm everytime he could. But in the recent past, especially last season, there were moments when you could see that depressed look on his face. It was like, can I really mix it with the big boys? He still tried his usual quota of shots from outside the box, but never looked convinced that he really could. My take is, constant failure, and self doubts have crept in. Talent wise, that goal against Chelsea (Capital One Cup), my word was one of the best goals United scored last season. I would want him to move on for sure. but feel bad for him. A huge talent gone to waste.

Deeps.

Three appointments booked at Bridgewater today, one coming from Madrid straight by helicopter, the other from Barcelona by rocket, and the final one from Lisbon by jet fighter. So expect three signings!
Where have all the proper rumours gone?

Just popped over to the LFC page out of sheer boredom (I know, it's got that bad). Seeing Ed002 in full flow really shows what we're missing on this site.

This is not another winge or begging post to the Eds. I just hope the world class persons who decided to abuse the best source of info on this site are happy.

Roll on the beginning of a new season, Karma will win this battle in the end.

Just to cheer ya'll up before bed time, one optimistic poster thinks they'll get £15M plus Ibrahimovic for the Buck Toothed Cannibal! Yeah, good luck with that.

Does anyone think that a p/x deal for Lukaku would be just about the best business we could hope for with Rooney. Imagine Lukaku leading the line with RVP absolute powerhouse front two.
