Hi Man Utd. fans... well, I don't normally come on here but just seen your new kit and a Liverpool fan has commented that you'll all look like 'human picnic baskets!!' So I went to have a look and it's true!!!

Now, don't make a MEAL out of this...
I'm sure it wont HAMPER any efforts trying to win something next year!

I'm thinking the Liverpool kits going to be a disaster this year, so I'm sure you'll get your own back soon! ;-)

Who I think we will sign:
Clyne 3m
Kagawa 10m
Sigurdsson 12m

Who I would like us to sign:
Am-Hazard/Erikson/Ganso/Muniain

Cm-Martinez/M'vila/Vidal/Sahin/Banega

Lb-Izaguirre/Baines

As I understand things United have around 25million to spend.. I reckon this could be streched if hazard wants to join us, although this is very unlikely.. There will be stock sold on the singapore stock market, in the autumn i think, which will give us extra cash for the transfer kitty for 2013.. I could be wrong and some of these funds may be made available this summer but when have we been pleasantly surprized by the glazers.. If any of the glazers is reading: Give us money ya miserable auld b*****ds!

My mate who I go to Utd with, over last couple of months of season has been saying there is something wrong with Hernandez as he's not the same. Now I see Mexico have agreed he shant be called up for the Olympics so wonder maybe there could be a problem,Utd have also said only Giggs will be allowed to be called up as an over age player

Yeah. Lets sell Nani and buy Hazard. Someone with no work ethic and is unproven in our league for our third best player, who tracks back and is great on his day.

The thing about Nani is that for Portugal and when he's at his best, he's playing in the floating role, going where he pleases. When he's stuck rigidly on the wing and his less favoured left wing, he's not as effective.

Hazard have the consistency of Nani, he could be a flop, or he could be utterly world class. Are we willing to sell one of our best players to get him? I don't see why we can't have both. Being our first choice right and left AM/wingers.

One last thing, shame on you Moon. We all expect players to be loyal to the club yet just discard players who show that loyalty at will. He's one of our best players and loyal, nobody should be arguing. But it's like they say, the grass is always greener.

Does anybody on here have an issue with the new United kit?

Surely when they're running around in it, it'll just look like a normal red strip so I don't see what all the fuss is about. it was the same when we had the shield behind the badge and when we had the 'V' on the front. people making things out of nothing because it's United?

What does everybody else think of it?

Ed just want to know if scouts were sent to the final last night.
Pls sir Alex should not look at transfers that might not workout such as Hazard, modric etc.
There are other midfielders in th EPL such as cheick tiote, sidgurdsson, dembele, cabaye and many others who could be cheaper options and also good players.

I am not sure which team formation would suit us more. In a 433 we have more midfield domination and in a 4231 we are building the team around our best player - Rooney...}

What about Fabregas? Apparently, he is available at the right price. Wonderful player, who knows the PL and has thrived in it. He has been shown a severe lack of respect by Barca by not being one of the 7 untouchables and does not get to play week-in/week-out for the full game.

Why is everybody saying "If we sell nani" or "we should sell nani"

He has the second most assists in our team behind valencia and has been our most prolific midfielder infront of goal this season... Love him or hate him he gets the job done even if he is a little inconsistent.

He is an integral part to our team and I know I dont want to see him leave and im sure fergie doesnt either.

Ok, seems like a bit of sense has been restored to the site regarding the terrible banter that has flown about the last couple days between rival fans and just wanting a break from the same questions, quotes regarding hazard and Kagwa, I have a question - Manager of the season?

Traditionally it goes to the manager who's team wins the league which I've never agreed with and to be honest, if city win it, I don't believe Mancini should get it genuinely because of his incidents with Balotelli and the way he has massively backtracked over Tevez, for me, these situations are not good management, yes they could win the title but for me he shouldn't get!

I don't believe SAF should this year if we win it, yes he has done wonders with a squad which is pretty much accepted as being our weakest but this hasn't been a vintage season for us!

So with this in mind I would opt for Pardew if Newcastle get Champions League and if not, Brendan Rodgers!

Who's your thoughts lads?

This is something that i have touched on before, but feel like going into it in more detail, see what you guys think. Its a formation and system change, to that of Barcelona as i think with a couple of additions we have the squad to do it. The formation would be a 4-3-3 with two wingers playing either side of Rooney, someone sitting deep in front of the defence and then two slightly more attacking minded midfielders ahead of the person sitting in the hole. Most of the players would need to have a good work ethic. For me, in this formation, this would be the dream team in terms of what we have already with very expensive/gettable additions:

_______________De Gea
D. Alves__Smalling_______Vidic__Alba
_______________Martinez
_________Eriksen_______Sneijder
Sanchez_______Rooney_____Hazard

Now before people start saying that would never happen, WAIT. I'M NOT SAYING THAT IS IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE. I think that at the very least we could get a central midfielder and a left sided player to fit that formation, however i'd also like a left back and a DM.

This is realistic:

______________De Gea
Rafael___Smalling____Vidic___Alba
___________Carrick (Martinez)
_______Cleverly____Kagawa/Sneijder
Nani_______________________Hazard
______________Rooney

That would mean that we shell out on a left back, a central midfielder and a left winger with the other option being a defensive midfielder. Rafael and Alba would provide good width getting forward, and Carrick could sit (If we can't get Martinez to play there, we could get Fellaini). Cleverly would be more of a box to box player and then someone like Kagawa or Sneijder would be creative and float a little more. The front 3 could move around and cause problems for the opposition defence.

Equally players like Valencia could come in and give us constant width in some games, Young would fit in as would Welbeck. Hernandez too as for me he is in the super-sub mold. That all together would cost £60 million or so (less if its Kagawa and not Sneijder). That would bring us closer to the days of attacking play with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney that we all enjoyed so much.

Thoughts?

RedDevil19 {Ed004's Note - I agree that 433 might be the way to go in the future as it offers us more domination in midfield area. If we were to go with that formation I would try and get Izaguirre as I feel Alba is going to Barcelona, Martinez, Kagawa, Ozil/Eriksen and Rodriguez and sell Nani if we needed funds to buy those players but we would already be recouperating quite a bit if we sold Anderson, berbatov and Evra.}

Out of curiousity say a bid of around 30-35 million came in for Nani and the option was there to use all of that money to buy Kagawa and Hazard would people on here sell Nani or would they keep him? I am not sure whether I would take the money and buy two quality players with it or keep Nani. I rate Nani highly and he speaks of our great club with a huge amount of respect and he speaks of the manager highly and is seems to be working hard to become a regular first teamer. Yes he has poor games but when he finds his consistency I think he will be world class. You also never hear of any attitude problems with him. So I am not sure, my head says sell but my heart says keep him....

Few things i've noticed about Liverpool fans of late

1) They tend to hang around the bigger clubs pages like a bad smell. Clinging on to any success they can, as it makes them feel like they are still are competing with the likes of yourselves and City.

2) When they can no longer have meaningful banter about present day football, they are reduced to meaningless banter and sniping.

3) As the years have ticked by, they are starting to celebrate other teams losses and downfalls as oppose to their own 'triumphs'. For example, they now have City as their 2nd team and will supoort Bayern in he Champs League Final. Whereas I honestly beleive that the majority of United fans would be happy to see us beat Bayern on the 19th.

4) When a team is having a bad season, like ourselves at the moment, they will spend a lot more time on our page than your own, this is due to them suddenly being in 'competition' with us.

5) They are VERY witty! It is a known fact within Liverpool that they are by far the wittiest people in the world with a fantastic sense of humour.

As i said, these are the things i have noticed lately. There may be more and if there are i urge you to share them with everyone so that we can be wary in future. Good Luck, here's hoping we have scouse free day.

just a comment on the articles doing the rounds today about how much s****y have spent to get where they are.And the fact that the only club currently in the prem who are not in debt are wolves. Everybody i talk to thinks the state of english football (financial state )
is all down to chelski and s****y these two clubs are certainly contributing to the ongoing mess everyone finds themselves in trying to keep up but they are not the causeof the mess were all in. That honour in my opinion must go to the club that got relegated on monday Blackburn Rovers and the original Mr sugar Daddy Jack Walker. He proved if you throw enough money at players they will sign and if you get enough of them you may just win something them. Getting relegated proves that eventually when the outside money is no longer there then dependant on the amount of debt your left with sooner (ie Leeds/Portsmouth ) or later (blackburn )
your club will not survive so if either s****y or chelski ever have to stand on there own two feet they will be in deep sh*t. So for everyone out there that wants a suger daddy be carefull what you wish for! I,d just like someone to own us who would rid us of debt and take sensible dividends/bonuses whilst allowing us to stay competitive in the transfer markets thus allowing us to be sucessfull on the pitch

Police in Portugal are planning to question Manchester United about the club's €9m (£7.2m) signing of the striker Bébé from the Portuguese club Vitória Guimarães, as part of their criminal investigation into the deal.

The judicial police national unit for combating corruption, part of the Justice Ministry based in Lisbon, is investigating the 11 August, 2010 transfer, by which United paid that fee for a player whose only competitive experience was a single season in the Portuguese third division.

Bébé's agent, appointed days before he moved to United, was Jorge Mendes, also agent to Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson, who moved from Portuguese clubs to Old Trafford in previous seasons. Of the €9m United paid to Vitória for Bébé, Mendes was paid 40%, €3.6m (£2.89m). It was reported in Vitória's subsequent general meeting that Mendes's €3.6m comprised a 10% agent's commission, €900,000, and the further €2.7m because Mendes had also just acquired 30% of Bébé's "economic rights", part-ownership of the player.

it scares me the ammount of speculation along with suggestions from other man utd fans that we want leighton baines. he is mediocre. along with this i think we need to understand we dont have that much money so strengtening the important areas such as cm is far more important than signing a brilliant winger (hazard). if we was to spend the same as last summer (around 60 million) then i think the following signings should be made..
Tiote-20mil
Clyne-2 mil
Kagawa-7 mil
gaitan-15 mil

then maybe a player such as eriksen.munain DEPENDANT on if nani stays or goes.

I'm tired of having to scroll through 70% of the page to even get to something relating to transfer gossip or similar.

I, Personally, have no interest in reading petty bickering between United and Liverpool fans. Over half a page of replies comparing how sh*te our players are, to how sh*te Liverpool players are? Not for me, sorry.

Blair -

the Fickle debate:

Well, honestly I think we're both as bad as eachother. I've criticized 99% of the United squad and the only people I've never criticized are SAF and Vidic for two reasons; SAF put us in the position we're in and without him we would still be midtable, why would I turn against the man who put us in the position we've been in for the past half a century. As for Vidic, I've just never really seen him have a bad game.

And while we're on the topic of buying rubbish, I think we've both bought some terrible players in our past. Personally I don't think we can judge players like Cleverley, Shelvey, Smalling, Kelly, Jones, Henderson, Carroll, etc. because they haven't really been given the opportunity to show what they're capable of on a consistent basis. who knows, next year Cleverley might be the best midfielder in the world, or Carrol might score 100 goals. I mean I'll banter about the price tags but I wouldn't exactly judge them on a season or two.

If we're looking at terrible players and paying over the odds we've got to look at players who have played and gone or are about to go. players like Babel, Djemba, Bellion, Robbie Keane, Diouf, Poulsen, Veron, etc.

I also believe that for every 1 awful player we've both signed there have been 2 or 3 really good players that we've signed for value; Reina, Vidic, Roy Keane, Crouch, Enrique, Lucas, Smalling, Coates, Hernandez, etc.

So, you've bought some rubbish, we've bought some rubbish, we've bought great players for value and you've bought great players for value.

Have a great day guys!

The Moon.

Liverpool fans say we're in decline...yet we have more points than last year and we are joint top only behind on goal difference... when we tell them this they say it is because they premier league isn't as good as it was last year... well if it isn't as good as it was last year then why are your mighty Liverpool doing so s**t in a league that is supposed to be sh1t?

your the ones in decline...

what is also pathetic is that the first fans you run to when you manage to win a game is united fans.. it seems that your so obsessed with trying to make us think your a good team.....that's the difference between united and Liverpool supporters.. we don't go running to other fans trying to prove we're good..we know we're good.

my take on City and Hazard:

what City and Chelsea done to English football should see majority or football fans and pundits alike left in a state of disgust!......Instead everyone is biastly backing the horrow show of Man City for some reason. And its clear for all to see that any players they buy now are of the money grabbing, big headed and quite simply stupid kind. Why anyone would choose that club over other clubs I dont know.......your a footballer so Money shouldnt be the SOLE reason any move happens.

Players are treating it like business from their point of view now too and thats ridiculous. If Hazard joins City over other clubs just because of an extra £30,000 a week more then clearly the other clubs are better off!....why would you want a player that has no loyality and only wants your cash!?............Toure's revelation about wanting to go back to Barca ASAP proves that....he has been their best player and the reason they look like winning the league.......how can you respect that?

There is an excellent article in the Telegraph today about what it has really cost City to win the league and it is closer to 950 million. But the point I am making is not to criticise City but to awaken people like Sydney and GDS to the fact that if the Glazers had not taken over we could have bought an 80 million pound player every season and still be in profit. In the past 5 years you would struggle to find teams that have a less net spend than us. Please don't anybody be stupid enough to believe that UEFA's fair play rules will come into effect and stop City. They are just laughing at them and will ride all over them. They will keep adding the best players in the world to their squad whilst we talk up youth players and players who are well past their best. There were always too many supporters out there who turned their heads away from the long term effect of the Glazers ownership as long as trophies were in the cabinet. People had a go at me banging on about the long term damage these sperm of the devil were doing to our club. Well I wonder how many of you now are thinking you know something he may just have had a point. Lets look at facts City are only going to get stronger. They are trying their best to land Jose by making him the highest paid person in football and a bottomless transfer kitty. He has turned them down this season but for how long. And would he really want to come to us with our squad knowing that he will not be allowed to bring in world class players unless they will accept 1st division wages. We can only prey that there is someone out there with an obscene amount of money who can buy us without putting us into debt and then return us to where we belong. I personally think at this point we are the furthest we have been away from a great side since 1992. This post is only for United supporters. Any of you plastic scousers reading this and thinking of adding some childish comment. Don't you get it we just don't care what you think. I AM KLOOT

I can only assume this Blair guy is tired of his banter with the likes of Fulham, West Brom and Sunderland fans, so he has decided to relive the good ol' days and pretend we are in a two way tussle for the title. Personally, I think he might be Tony Blair. It would make sense, his club invaded other clubs in the January transfer window, hoping to find their weapons of mass destruction eg Carroll Downing Adam. Unfortunately for them they were left with a lot of explaining to do.

Well I am coming round to the Blair way of thinking. I used to think he was deluded, but now I am beginning to see his point. He keeps telling us that all Liverpool players are so superior to those at United, yet Liverpool are 34 points below United. So the same logic would indicate that a team 34 points below Liverpool would be full of stars of total supremacy to those at Anfield. Unfortunately the Liverpool points tally is so pitiful, that this is not possible, and you have to cheat by 7 points, - but surely this is a mere technicality. What you then see is that every Wolves player would automatically walk into the Liverpool team. Are you beginning to see his point too now? They probably would. You see, the fact is clear now that he has pointed it out - Queen Kenny has done an amazing job to keep them from relegation, in the same way as SAF has worked wonders to get United level on points with a club blessed with a rather large benefactor, and not having had the injuries that United have.
