If the apparent deal for WS has fallen through, am i the only one who would be pleased? I would prefer Cleverley to be given a real chance. I am really excited by how he has matured and fitted into the first team

Evening guys. Tonight I was lucky enough to be in the audience for a night with Sir Alex Ferguson up here in Dunfermline which was in support of the Mary Leishman foundation. It was a great insight into the time Sir Alex had as a player and his path into management. Much of the night was obviously about Sir Alex's past achievements and what he described as his best time as a player at Dunfermline AFC. There were many anecdotes from former team-mates of and an interview with Sir Alex, all in all it was a very good night.

Anyway this is a United site and as much as I wasn't expecting to hear anything about our present squad tonight, a question was asked about Darren Fletcher and how he is doing as us Scots do need him for the national side. Sir Alex stated that Fletcher is back in training and is likely to play for the reserves on Monday which is fantastic news.

P.S apologies eds I know you don't want posts about Fletcher's health but I hope this good news gets posted.

Rjmanutd {Ed004's Note - Don't worry, Thanks for the update on Fletcher, I am sure I am not the only one who can't wait to see him back in action}

there's still 20 days left in the transfer window i know the sneijder transfer saga is getting a bit boring and frustrating now but honestly do you think saf wants it to go on this long im sure if the player he wants be it sneijder nasri sanschez whoever was available months ago he would've bought them

unfortunatley things take time clubs dont want to lose face in front of fans especially when one of there best players want to leave so what i am trying to say is have faith in saf and man utd im sure whoever comes sneijder or whoever will benefit the team not just for the cl but for the future of the club

btw love this site keep up the good work ed

Personal Opinion. I think Kagawa is the one player that
United should persist. Why? Only 22 years old. Scored 8 goals in 19 appearances. Already plays a large role in the Japanese squad whom are producing great players lately. His touch and dribbles are out there with passing skills that we need. Also to mention he can shoot out the box. He is the future.

we shouldn't buy anyone else,
lets give the younger players a
chance. They performed well in the
second half at Wembley, especially
Cleverley.

After watching the Germany Brazil game it is very clear the best natural cm (Sneijder is an attacking mid) is Bastian Schweinsteiger. Very experienced player and if your willing to spend 30 odd million pounds on a player to replace Scholes id rather Bastian because he plays similar to him and can even play a deep roll like against Brazil. I think if we get WS will have to change our natural 442 to accommodate him. I know we probably wont get Bastian because German players dont like to leave Germany but i think the only player in the world that has the most chance of filling Scholes boots at the moment is Schweinsteiger(only other is Xavi but didnt mention him because hes 31, and Iniesta is more like WS)

Im beginning to feel that United are really in for Nasri Like an earlier post i read.... He's got prem experience, younger, re-sale value, hungry and already in the UK.... Something is just telling me that Nasri would be a better option than WS. I feel if United and The City boys went in for Nasri, he would come to United. I just feel he would fit in better and not a big headed money grabber like WS who may upset the dressing room. Ive actually gone of WS. He is MONEY orientated. I want a player to come to United for UNITED NOT for money. I just feel a surprise bid coming soon

Have you not noticed (like i have) Mumbles mate. That the posts have dwindled dramatically since Sydney was found out with the "City hijack Sneijder Deal" bullsh*t?

I tried to warn you all along that Sydney is fond of telling the odd porky. Now do you believe me?

Ps. Nice to be back lads.... {Ed004's Note - You were gone??? Hadn't noticed ;)}

I've got a question , a lot of people would like us to make a move for gotze, kagawa etc.... ( i would def like gotze) but why do people think we have'nt made a move for these players in this transfer window( so far) even tho they would be a lot cheaper than sneijder.
My own thought is they are not any better than the other young players we have got at the club both in the first team and coming through the ranks .
anyone else got any ideas.

Do you guys think we really need Sneijder?

Bit confused as to why some posters ie Sydney would not want a world class midfielder like WS. We know it wont affect SAF bringing the young players through and they could only learn from a player such as him and it sends such a clear message of intent to all clubs all over Europe so why do you not want WS?

The hype regarding his wage demands is just that? He's already said he will take a wage cut so that he can play at Utd, just wrangling with Inter but deal done weeks ago re personal terms etc. Announcement iminent.

I just dont understand why you would not be exciited about a player like this. He's won it all and has experience at every level in football all at the age of 27 which is still young for a seasoned CM. In the world cup he played 4 games and in each of those games won man of the match. Scholes described him as Brilliant as did Young, Keane said he would be ideal in our Midfield. Are you saying Scholes and Keane dont know whats needed in our Midfield?

I can't see Berbatov leaving unless we get offered a good amount for him.

I think Snjeider would be a good signing even though i have posted before on here saying that i am against him signing for us. But i think afeter a few games we can't put all our hopes on Cleverly and Anderson. We need experience in the midle. CArrick isn't capable of driving the team forward and we need Fletcher to sit in front of defence.

Hoping Fabio pushes Evra hard this season for the LB position as Evra hasn't really had anyone to challenge him.

Hes not signing

Note the "if" no name poster, seriously these no named posts are justndoing my nut in

=v1=

Couldn't agree more =v1=.

Saw bits of the French game. M'Vila looked very good, strong, fast, tackles efficiently, excellent passer, has vision, has everything a good DM needs. I think it's Mik (sorry if I'm wrong) who often mentions him on this site. He would be a fantastic signing.

Just watched the Scotland vs Denmark match and if the deal for Sneijder doesn't come off we should switch to Christian Eriksen. He was very good in the U21 championships and he was fantastic tonight. Couple of really good intricate passes around the area and an excellent delivery from set pieces.

Next summer will see Berbatov, Owen and possibly Park leaving the club. Also i think that Giggs will retire. This will mean more players will have to be replaced..Berbatov and Owen hopefully will have been succesfully replaced by Macheda and Welbeck, perhaps one 'oldy' will be brought in to supplment what we have. Don't think anyone else will come in though up top, however Rossi is a possibility or an unkown signing.

Park and Giggs will leave us with just Valencia, Young and Nani on the wings...Gareth Bale will be the only Major signing next summer. He'll take over from Giggs and Park, he can attack and cover back.

In the center of the park carrick will be getting on a bit, Iturbe, who we have first refusal on and is likely to join will join up next summer after he has had a years experience in Europe with Porto.

Out: Giggs, Park, Berbatov, (carrick maybe).

In: Bale, Iturbe and unknow striker.

I think the events of the last few days have made the WS situation quite clear. Sneijder clearly wants to join United but is treading on egg shells in case United don't come calling. He clearly respects Inter Milan and its fans. The ultimate kick in the teeth for those fans would be for him to come out as he has and say he wants to join United and then move to City for a better financial deal. This would send out the message that he purely wanted out of Inter We now have to wait for United to make their move if at all. Everybody who said that things would move quicker because of the England v Holland postponement are wrong. The source who told me that low key talks had taken place a couple of weeks back was spot on. He also confirms any meeting's scheduled for this week would stand and wouldn't be brought forward. If United are still keen, WS's people are due to meet United officials later tomorrow. The five days off Inter have given Wesley could be very interesting.
