Has anyone got any Ander Herrera or Luke Shaw chants?

Saw one on youtube for Herrera to 'My heart will go on - Celine Dion'

Near, far, Ander Herreraaaaa
I believe, you will scoreeee a goalll.

'Herrera whoahh' works too!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please don't ask people on here to make up chants. It never ends well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pete boyle will come up with one no doubt soon enough, just hope its not as bad as the mata one he did, parp.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm thinking 'there's only 1 Andre Herrera, 1 Andre Herrera' and so on. I think it's quite original

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure we are in dire need of a winger the way some are making out. Yes it would be nice, but for me the far more pressing deficiancies in our team are in central defence and central midfield. We have adressed the midfield partly with the addition of Herrera, who I think is an absolute gem of a player. Shaw was the number one choice at left back, he will be one of the best in the world for many years if he continues to develop at his current rate. What I like about him is that at this stage, his best attributes are defensive ones, which is rare in the modern full-back. He has great pace and a terrific engine, but will mostly need to work on his end product. That is a great start for a young left back.

This might be stating the obvious, but Hummels and Vidal are certainly my prefered signings. Get those two and I would be over the moon. But where do we go from there if we do, selection wise? What we need first is to establish a regular back four with a solid central defensive pairing, and I think Hummels alongside Jones will be the one. Jones is a top centre back in the making, his development has stalled, but he will be top drawer I'm sure of it. This is his time to kick on. That along with our two young, enthusiastic full-backs in Rafa (who has gone backwards slightly but we all know how good he can be) and Shaw will be a solid back four with experience but also longevity. Having a deeper midfield two of Vidal and Herrera, with their boundless energy and terrific use of the ball would be a breath of fresh air and a welcome change. Mata floating in a more advanced midfield role (Kagawa as cover) and a front three of Januzaj, RvP and Rooney, who could all interchange at different points in a game. I think this would be a fantastic team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

CB and CM are still the obvious places that need strengthening but we seriously need a pacey attacker too. People seem to think were ok with Adnan, but he's still raw. He's not a finished article and we still don't know just how good he will be yet. Valencia isn't good enough although I'd keep as a squad player, Nani and young are terrible. So yes we defo need a wide player. Sanchez for me would of been perfect, not sure why we haven't gone in for him.

I personally think Hummels is unrealistic , I can't see him joining us. Someone like De Vrij is more realistic. I think we missed out in Garay, that's who I was hoping we would have gone for.

Vidal is a quality , quality player. One of the best box to box in world if not the best. But the issue we have is we've just bought one in Hererra. Surely Carvahlo would be more suited to our needs. He can protect the back 4 allowing Hererra to strut his stuff. Although there won't be any complaints from me if we get Vidal.

Had we got Sanchez for £32m and Garay for £12m, we would just be looking at an attacker now and business would be finished early July.

Blind would be a good addition as a squad player, given he can cover LB or CDM

Just wondering is vermaelen left footed I think van gaal might want a left footed cb so any change in tactics and formation would be easier especially if we play 3 cbs which I'm not sure he will every game I think he might use it away at the top 6 clubs maybe. We currently don't have any cbs that are left footed and it might be why he is keen on vermaelen for flexibility in the squad just can't remember if he is or not

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes he's left footed and you are wrong about us not having a left footed centre back to, smalling has 2 of them :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 22:57:00
Evans is left footed isn't he? certainly strong on both

Agree0 Disagree0

Evans is right footed but is very comfortable with both feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

It won't be required, lvg will kick their,,, if they don't perform. I think our lot are in for a shock this season.

Apparently Shaw has reported to Carrington to start training a week earlier than scheduled. already liking the lads attitude and hope it rubs off on some of the others.

If we can't get Di Maria I think we should go for Pedro. He would be a great signing. Perfect timing too with Enrique having a clear out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Super player, but di maria is better!

11 Jul 2014 20:59:02
Could next week be one of the most exciting in Manchester United recent history, one theory on the window is that Harera and Shaw were brought in early as the discussions had been going for a while and also shows the intent of the club. This theory follows that we were never going to announce any more until Van Gaal was in place and that we may be very close to one or two that are being held off until he is at Carrington and the world cup is over.if this occurs then it will give impetus to Van Gaals arrival and will be seen as his signings.
Like I say, just a theory but one that I hope is accurate. Although it maybe that we are in for a long summer waiting for new arrivals!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 20:49:43
Are utd still looking at carvalho? Seems everyone is praying for vidal. Shouldn't we be praying for quality cb's? Losing vidic has left a big hole in quality and experience. Wouldn't mind seeing hummels signed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 22:01:04
Thats a good shout that mate, I dnt think I've seen Hummels mentioned on here for that position yet :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think with better protection from a class midfield our current centre halfs will look ten times better to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stratfordender, our cb's are a liability. Each and every one of them. We desperately need at least one new CB

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm warming to the idea of hummels aswel, Top shout :)

Agree0 Disagree0

You cruel, disingenuous subjects ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 19:57:38
Well the papers seem convinced that Angel Di Maria is imminent and whilst the intent to sign big players is great I just don't see him as the premium signing that United should be looking at. He's not had a convincing World Cup, up until his injury obviously, and I think United would have benefited from chasing an enforcing CM first. Vidal will end up being the Fabgregas chase of last season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'll be delighted if we get Di Maria. He's a fantastic player. I know stats aren't everything but he got double figures for goals and 26 assists last season. People are complaining about how high the fee is that is being reported but to be honest I don't care. If the club can afford it then I don't see the issue. The only way I would oppose the fee being reported is if it effects other deals such as a new CM and CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Ghostey. I get the feeling with di maria that it almost seems that he, along with benezema, higuan and a few others, were all players who could have gone on to be the biggest names in world football if they had made the right moves at 22/23. They chose to play 2nd fiddle to ronaldo, and whoever else was the flavour of the month at real madrid. (Currently bale, soon possibly james rodriguez, previously kaka.)

It feels to me that benzema and di maria are now first class "support" players, but will find it hard to recover the kind of confidence necessary to be inspirational matchwinners. I don't see them becoming players in the top 5 in the world at all anymore.

If we are going to pay 50m for a player you have to think they ought to be players who have a shot at reaching the very top.

Someone mentioned di maria is a man u fan? It might help if he develops a rapport with the fans. A connection with a supporter base as big as united's, may help him recover the feeling of rising to the top.

Its also possible that lvg may look to employ van persie as the matchwinner in the united team, as ferguson did. In this case, fist class support players (something it seems rooney has also become in the last 2 seasons, ) would be good for our team.

You have to wander though, is that sort of player worth 50m? If we are looking to sign a "support" player, happy to have less possesion and compliment bigger stars, i'd rather have a pedro for 30m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless he has a short memory he'll remeber the stretford end clapping him threw the tunnel when we played them in champions league so hopefully he might have semi on over that :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I recall the Madrid game in the Champions league several years ago and before it I picked out Di Maria as dangerous. He has pace, something we have needed for a while. We were keen on here to get Reus and one reason was he offered pace which makes defences wary of playing a high line. I think Pedro is a good player but Di Maria would suit us better.
A summer of Di Maria, Vidal and Hummels would indeed be exciting, fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 19:46:40
Mats Hummels, Angel di Maria both been nominated for the golden ball award at the world cup.
With Memphis Depay nominated for young player of the world cup.

Would be nice to see us sign all 3 of them
Along with Vidal as well :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 19:51:28
I want them all!! Please

Agree0 Disagree0

There's reports that Reus is furious as Barcelona have snubbed him for Suarez after he turned down a move to us.

Lets drop Di Maria for £47m and go and get Reus for £30m.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 20:16:00
Well if he turned us down I don't want him

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd. would be happy if PSG came in and took DiMaria at that cost if it meant we then went after Reus and got him.

I would like to see him and Hummels come in and then in Jan when every one and their dog is expecting Strootman sign Gundogan.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be something to shout about Syd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt reus in the same boat as gundogan and strootman?

Agree0 Disagree0

Id prefer Reus. Just a shame he's injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Marea and Reus.just putting it out there! And Vidal please!

Agree0 Disagree0

Reus is out until october

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not have both for madrid di maria plays on the left of a 3 man midfield that way u can have a front 3 of adnan rvp and reus with vidal herrera and di maria in centre. Obv that means mata n rooney are missing out which makes the whole thing next to impossible but it would be a great problem for the manager to have that's for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2014 09:36:30
Suprised James Rodriguez wasn't nominated.

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't care less if Reus is out until Christmas. If there was a chance of getting him I would move mountains. Adnan could fill in whilst he's out injured then get a much needed rest when Reus returned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop press latest news from the most reliable newspaper, The Daily Star( ok I lied about reliable), Vidal deal done £32m + Evra. How I wish

Gary Neville agrees with most of us here that we need 3 more signings CB, CM and a Winger. Does that mean we can all be football pundits too? I'm good at talking rubbish.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No it just shows how obvious it is that we're that bad in those positions! We can all talk rubbish though mate. Footballs based on opinions and everybody has their own

Eds/Guys do you think we will play with 3 CB's and 2 full backs in the PL?

Disadvantages:

- It would require us to sacrifice an attacking player (This can also be seen as a boon because that would further reduce Young's appearances if he stays)

- Even if we were to sign Hummels we would have only 4 CB's + Keane. All 4 of them can be classed as injury prone, so playing 3 of them in a game looks difficult to me.

- We would absolutely need to sign a player in the ilk of Vidal and Pogba (I know we need to do that irrespective of the formation but if we fail to sign either one then there is no way we can play this formation)

Advantages:

- We could probably live without signing an attacking player like Di Maria

- Full backs will have freedom to attack. I think Rafael/Valencia are good for this role and so is Shaw.

- Something new to watch as I started watching United only from 2002 and don't remember us playing such a formation :P

In my opinion we need to sign at least the below players to make this formation work:

1. Vidal or Pogba or Carvalho - I know all these players aren't similar but Herrera's role can be changed depending on who we sign.

2. Hummels - As our main CB

3. Vermaelen or De Vrij - Not a big fan of Verma and heard that De Vrij might be off to Lazio but we definitely require another CB if we plan to play this formation

4. Blind or Rodriguez - I think this is optional but it will be good to have someone challenging Shaw as Evra looks to be off to Juve.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - I do not expect us to play 3 at the back next season consistently. However, there will be occasions were we probably will but it will be the midfielder dropping into defence to make it 3 at the back. I reckon we will sign hopefully 2 maybe 3 new players. I wouldn't be surprised if we waited until January to get Strootman after missing out on Vidal if we can't agree a deal. If I was a betting man I'd say we will go for De Virgl, Blind and Di Maria.}

I may be wrong but I think SAF played 3 cbs with rafel and fabio as fulbacks against arsenal in a cup match.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I also remember in Fergusons last game he played Carrick very deep vs west Brom. He was basically a 3rd centre back that day and we were fantastic going forward. Just poor defensively. Same vs Newcastle but we were better defensively that day}

Also, apart from this world cup has LVG ever played with 3 CBs?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our main targets are Di Maria, Hummels and Vidal. If they don't join then I think Carvalho and Vermaelen are back ups and maybe Depay.

I hope we see a 4-3-1-2 as I have said before with Di Maria on the left of a midfield three driving forward and going wide with the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - If we got 4312 as you are suggesting. I think it will be RVP and Di Maria as the two as that will allows us to have pace in the attack. Di Maria will play on which ever side there is space on. At the start it would hopefully be Carrick beside Vidal and Herrera. Then in January Strootman or Carvalho signed. We would still have the option of switching to 4231 with Januzaj, lingard, Valencia on the bench. Rooney would be cover in this formation but get a lot of game time. Would also benefit Kagawa as well as he could play number 10 role}

Imightbesomeone, Fabio played on the wing in that game

(Pogba said this is the game where he decided he will have to leave)

Agree0 Disagree0

MUMBAI_BOY

No, we won this game, quite comfortably.2-0 I think it was. The game you are talking about I think is against blackburn. I may be wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 16:49:45
It was this game which we won 2-0, looks like 4 at the back.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/9421189.stm

But yea I think Pogba was referring to the Blackburn game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Carrick as the deepest would be good. We will mix it up a lot but with Di Maria we have the option of playing in the 3 and Rooney up top if we decide to.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I was thinking something like: http://www.footballuser.com/1039298/Manchester_United}

ED004

That looks like a very good and a very realistically possible team

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - Replace Carrick with Carvalho or Strootman from January onwards. And against weaker teams drop Carrick and play Januzaj, Rooney or Kagawa}

11 Jul 2014 19:19:28
Ed do you think this would work?

http://www.footballuser.com/1039341/Manchester_United

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - Yes that would work. It is basically 4231 as Mata would play further forward. I just want Vidal more than Carvalho so tried to find a formation for him to work him}

Ed004 if you get time would you check this line up out?
Dependent on opposition strength or specific need during a match replacing the DM with a one of our number 10s for me Mata or Kagawa

{Ed004's Note - You didn't send one in}

Afternoon. I think Chelsea and Arsenal have strengthened considerably, and I am sure City will do so. Liverpool will lose Suarez and he will be difficult to replace. So I hope that we have a lot more activity in the transfer market before the window is closed.
In my opinion, we need 4 top signings to make our team competitive. CB, Winger and two midfielders. I still think we are very week in that department despite signing Herrera.
If we are serious about winning the league next year, then these are a must.
Vidal, Hummels, Di Maria (though I would have preferred Snachez) and Pogba or Carvalho and we could be a top team again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have to disagree with you already nomad and the season has not even started lol. If Di maria is signed he is a better player than Sanchez and we will not sign pogba and vidal, wake up mate.

Vidal and Di Maria will give us a team that can play against anyone especially if we add a top cB in there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Maria would suit LVG style of play more than Sanchez IMO. He is a bit more direct and carries the ball better. Sanchez is technically better and scores more goals though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see Liverpool building on their best ever PL season (successful apparently, despite being top with three games two go, two of those at home, and finishing 2nd) by selling their best player.

Suarez is a great player, so they will be significantly weaker next season. With the loss of Suarez, the mediocre players they are bringing in and the added toll that a CL campaign can have on the squad, they certainly shouldn't be a worry in terms of the top four next season imo. I think they will finish 5th or 6th.

I have always stopped short of calling Suarez world-class though, simply because he rarely showed up in the biggest Premier League games and he hasn't proven himself in the Champions League. For me, there are very few truly world-class players around, so those are among the mandatory requirements to be considered as one. However, now that Suarez is at an elite club he has the chance to get to that level, he certainly has the ability.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 13:22:41
They won't have that many CL games to worry about ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

They'll have enough to be out of the title race by Christmas, CTR. Then on to the Europa League in the second half of the season where they will stumble to the latter stages, harming their league campaign along the way before being knocked out by another average side.

Wonder what price I'll get for that prediction! ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can build on the success of last season but writing them off and saying they couldn't challenge for the title is pretty ridiculous. Suarez is one player, albeit an incredibly talented one, and the rest of the Liverpool squad will remain. They have been active in the transfer window, and in exchange for losing their best player they will gain squad depth. Honestly I think United fans who write off Liverpool this season are being pretty naive but I'll gladly eat my words.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll see, Ruud. They'll flop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe you take the term 'bias' to a whole new level.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe I'm bias. I have an opinion and will always present reasons why I have formed that opinion.

If I am so bias, please pick apart my post and tell me which parts lead you to think that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Luis Suarez is clearly world class love him or loathe him he's a genius, look at how he transformed Uruguay in the World Cup, after being rushed back from surgery, he single handedly destroyed England, he bagged 80 goals in 110 games for Ajax and 60-70 in 110 games for Liverpool, he also out scored Ronaldo at a goal to game ratio of 0.6 last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo (2013/14): 47 games, 51 goals
Suarez (2013/14): 37 games, 31 goals

I think your maths is off somewhere, McRonald.

IMO Suarez isn't world-class. Neuer, Lahm, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldo. These are world-class players. They have made a difference in the BIGGEST games domestically, year after year. They have also all contributed massively in the Champions League and won it along with other major honours. Suarez has done none of that, so can't be put in the same bracket as those guys for me. Yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe
Rubbish, and btw.Ronaldo scored something like 12 penalties. Suarez doesn't take penalties. Theorys squashed

Agree0 Disagree0

He did what with "something like 12 penalties"? He scored? So the stats stand then?

I really hope you aren't suggesting that 2012 English League Cup winner Luis Suarez is a better player than 3x PL, FA Cup, 2x League Cup, 2x CL, La Liga, Copa del Rey & 2x world player of the year winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Are you, Al?

Agree0 Disagree0

Al, how many of Suarez 31 goals came against the other top four teams last season? Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City?

what are everyones thoughts on Cuadrado? I can't say i'm a lover of watching italian football unless its juventus who I put in most of my euro footie coupans on a weekend and I was busy working for all of columbias games so I haven't seen anything off him to judge but I heard good reports about him in the world cup so decided i'd make sure I taped the brazil game to see what he was all about, I thought he was dreadful. was this just a bad game and could he be a good investment?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Decent player at best, World Cup fever in full effect with the likes of Cuadrado imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really seen much of him but watched the brazil game and he was very poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Johndenton

Im glad you said that because I thought he was very average.
Most of the time he just ran into players or had the ball took off him.
His close control wasn't good and a lot of his passes went wayward.
He is no better than Valencia if you ask me.

Agree0 Disagree0

My understanding is Fiore are after a considerable sum for him too, well over what he is worth in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

He can play and will go to a top team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cuadrado played badly vs Brazil, but he was excellent before that. Brazil targeted James and Cuadrado from the start, and the two became very frustrated. Cuadrado tried to do too much after that.

He can beat players and be very creative, and his final ball is often quite good. He is nothing like Valencia, who is fast, powerful, and one dimensional. Cuadrado is smaller, clever in combining and very, very quick.

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as we all keep searching the rumours pages in excitement for the next signing. I think we might have to wait a little while now. I expect the next couple of signings to be announced in the presence of van Gaal so he can show they're his signings and he's making his mark at United. We know Shaw and Herrera were targets before van Gaal came in so I think the next couple will be his choices/ recommendations.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 10:29:16
I think we will learn a lot in terms of the potential Vidal transfer by patiently observing Evra's proposed move to Juve. The transfer opens negotiations between the two clubs - should Evra's move materialize swiftly, I would suspect that Juve aren't interested in selling, on the other hand, a longer negotiation process could indicate that Evra is being used as a sweetener. Some reports claim a deal could be completed as quickly as yesterday, but still silence - room for optimism perhaps?!

Like many on here, I really hope we go all out for Vidal and strongly believe that with him pulling the strings in midfield, we can reclaim the league title.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I really can't see us getting Vidal I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed! I think Pogba will leave and will be gutted if it's to Chelsea! Obviously hope I'm wrong. financially you would think it would make more sense to sell Vidal given his age they will never get a better offer for him than they will get this summer. I would be really happy with Carvalho think he's what we've been craving for years.

Let's be honest tho we don't actually know who we are even in for, whether either or both are actual targets or if they'd want the move! I do think we may have a surprise or 2 before the window shuts.

Eds any info on Pogba have Chelsea bid or agreed a deal with Juventus? Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - There is no deal for Pogba}

11 Jul 2014 00:26:01
Eds, realistically what are the chances of one or two more signings.
Everyone has seen the Vidal, DiMaria, Cuadrado, Mangala, Hummels, Pogba, Perez, Rodriguez.
Realistically are we signing any?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine - all have been dealt with.}

11 Jul 2014 09:06:10
Does Barca signing Suarez have any impact on whether or not they'll go for Reus? Difficult to imagine where they'll fit all those players in an 11 that has everyone in their best preferred positions and still keep the team balanced. Honestly I think they are just being greedy. Personally I'd have Reus ahead of di Maria or Sanchez, and for the fee being bundled about for di Maria, if he was available we should atleast try to sign Reus

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Reus is out until around October, he wouldn't be able to pass a medial, hence why interest has been dropped by everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 08:04:14
Gutted Sanchez is being signed by Arsenal. He is a brilliant player. Would have loved to see him flying up our wings, cutting inside and banging in the goals. Only good news is he did not join the scallies.

So not only is he a great player, he is smart to.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 07:09:21
Hello guys.
How many of u will be happy to see reported 48.7 m spend on di maria?
Good footballer but I myself will rather buy Memphis depay and xerdan shaqiri for that amount. That would add 2 quality explosive and pacey wingers to the squad.
That can easily mean we can include nani in probable Vidal deal without having to look at replacement.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't get it. Why would we spend that on di maria and not go for Sanchez at 35 mill? Can anyone explain this to me?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that spending that on di maria is a waste of money. yeh he's a good player but I just don't think we should spend that money on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 02:48:34
We all need to calm regarding Vidal, I think we're getting to excited reading reports. 002 would tell us if United have made a bid, but the last indication is that no talks have even taken place. All just rumours at the moment i'm afraid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, I don't think there has been any contact, I would love to be wrong, but I think Van Gaal is waiting until January to sign Strootman.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 07:03:47
Everyone Got massively excited after the Shaw and Herrera acquisitions. Given how limited we believe Ed's abilities to actually get someone to sign after the last fiasco. However Given these were targets last year maybe it does just take him 6 - 12 months to get his man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats what I never understood but heres hoping there is something big around the coener I personally believe we should concentrate on Hummels and Vidal first as those two positions are badly need replacements for.

Hopefully Reus objects move to Barcelona now since Suarez has moved but the issue with Reus is that he is injured.

Anybody seen the video of the Holland/Argentina penalty shootout, showing Ron Vlaar's penalty (hollands first) and he actually scores it.

The keeper saves the ball, and the back spin takes it just over the line.

That counts as a goal haha! Absolutely wild.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He headed/shouldered the ball before it went in.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 01:28:17
Is there a rule in shoot outs that once the ball changes direction (goes away from the goal) it is classed as saved? would it be a goal if it hit the post and went in off the keeper?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 02:38:54
i thought it was still active until the ball has stopped or gone out of play?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 02:41:29
I'm not 100% sure he did Doni, thr ball would have gained more pace, where-as it only rolled in from backspin.

Fair enough if he did shoulder it, but if he didn't i'm surprised more hasn't been made of it tbh.

I don't think it did touch him, he looked to dodge out the way, but additionally I am not convinced it crossed the line. Looked to just rest on the line.

Ball is live until it comes to a complete stop as far as I am aware

If it went over the line the refs watch would have buzzed with the goal line technology and he would have known straight away. Think it's clear from the pictures it was close but not quite over.

GDS, there is another angle of it, and it actually stopped on the line lol, unlucky for him and Netherlands if he didn't touch it as it would have counted.

With the signing of herrera which one of carvalho or vidal do u think wil be better suited to our team.i knw vidal is the best mid around but personally I think carvalho is what is required considering our current requiremnt. I know vidal wil be top class signing f

I think Carvalho would be ideal for us with Herrera signing. Hiwever, I think it's like the deal for Mata, not necessarily what we need, but is just too good a player to not go for.

If I could have either, it would be Vidal, as it would be for 99% of United fans, but doesn't mean he's what we need.

A midfield of Herrera/Vidal would be sensational, but I think a pairing of Herrera/Carvalho would be better for us.

Either way, I'd be over 'The Moon' ;)

Well put mpez, the heart says vidal but the head says carvalho ,I think carvalho is a beast in the mould of viera(although technically better imo)is exactly what we need and will go on to be one of the very best ,he is also available and we know how much he will cost and will not make a massive dent in the wages budget leaving a lump sum (in wages)for a 'superstar' signing
