Aside from the score line, how good was it to see the lads play City off the park for 75 minutes?

:)

The thing I like about our squad as apposes to two years ago is the average age is pretty good. With the like of giggs, rio, Vidic and evra moving on. When you think of de gea (24), smalling (25), Rojo (25) shaw (19) blind (24) mata (25) Hererra (24) jones (24) Wilson (19) . Along with the players were linked with such as depay around 20ish, they're all at a pretty good age, with their best years ahead of them

I wish Owen Hargreaves ( Injury Prone Hardknees ) IMO.

Would pay back the 3yrs of wages he recieved while on the injured list not too mention the treatment we paid for eyc

Before he mouths off anymore.

Micheal Carrick was phenomenal today. I really hope he's not injured or next weeks game at Stamford Bridge. Anyone have any news on it?

I read it was his calf. Hopefully nothing serious. Carrick was outstanding today.

13 Apr 2015 07:09:23
If carrick was mid 20's he would be one of the most sought after players in Europe. Typically under appreciated by every england manager which probably goes a long way to explain why the national team is so bad, if carrick had been Italian he would have well over 100 caps by now

So the next Premiership games for both us and Arsenal is Chelsea.could be defining for bothof us. On the flipside should Chelsea lose both it could be squeaky bum time for them!!
Great result today

Marouane fellaini reaches home and empties his pockets On the table: things thrown out of the pocket are mobile phone, wallet, keys and yaya toure.

I read from a previous post about hargreaves views on united.

Here are Hargreaves views on United.

Mostly negative ones and his pre match analysis trying to give a impression that city are far more superior side than united in all possible ways.

Pre match view: United have no answer for silva, aguero, toure and it is just a matter of whether they turn on and today they will and beat united.

Half time analysis: City have a powerful bench and probably snatch a win coming from behind.
when asked why city were bad defensively he said 'i don't know' then he explained some trash reasons

Post match view: United have spent 150 million and fighting for fourth, where falcao, dimaria, RVP fit in this side?

Twisted idiot hargreaves. And slightly bitter.

We gave him so much to enjoy about and he is supporting city now just because of that one season . I watched him blattering all nonsense, how idiotic pundit he is

Absolutely buzzing! Great reaction to going a goal down early on, about time we got one over on city! Big mention to Tony V today I've slated him recently but he proved me wrong today, he was magnificent defensively.

Thought Valencia was maybe a little out of position for the first goal but I agree with you about his performance today overall. Typically hardworking and made a couple of crucial plays to cover for other players. Great game from him.

Why, why, why couldn't we play like this since august, we will walk the league next year if we carry on like this

Its never that simple Imo. Arsenal fans will be saying the same but to be fair Chelsea have looked strong all season and have excellent squad.

Great result and next season there will be little excuse but to compete for the title.

Agree3 Disagree1

12 Apr 2015 19:04:03
Love the optimism but it's not as clear cut as that. Chelsea still have a stronger squad than us and will buy again this summer. Arsenal are picking up, and will improve. But fully expect us to be right up there next year. It's vital we get the couple of top players needed to take us to the next level, who can work in the system LvG likes.

For me. De Gea would be signing of the summer.

What I've enjoyed is the dominance using different tactics. Against Liverpool it was down the right with Valencia, Mata and Herrera, against Man City it was down the left with Blind, Fellaini and Young and against Spurs it was through the middle and both wings.
It's been quite a transformation from LVG using players who I fully expected to be peripheral squad players.
Looking forward to the match up against Chelsea and see whether we can dominate in the same way
Big mention for Carrick and Young today

Me too, absolutely bossed the game and class above them and could have had more. Rooney made a couple off wrong choices in great positions or we could have been seeing 6-1:)

Only concern is I hope carrick is okay and no injury.

Gav

Carrick has always been good and needs a Herrera and fellaini as they will also take responsibility and always be available for the pass and look to do something positive with it. Unfortunately in previous years guys like cleverly would pass it straight back to him and really never were positive. I think he is the glue that joins our midfield and defense and just a very good player.

Lost total left over respect in my eyes.

I tend not to listen to the drivel that cones out of his mouth. We paid mega money for him and he kept our medical staff busy for three years. He gave us very few good games. So his opinion is worth nothing if he can't come up with any balanced views.

This is the first time in last 3 seasons I am feeling very very confident that we are winning this game comfortably with Rooney, herera and fellini to prove very important.
I might just reserved about selection of smelling/Jones above Rojo

I would like to change our discussed topic a little bit .
We have heard many times that players from spain, italy, germany just recently came to know that there is also a club named Manchester City . I read the same thing in Robinho's interview With LVG also recently claiming that he found out about City just few years ago. It makes me think that how on earth was this suppose to happen . I mean EPL is the most watched league in the world with largest fan base . Players from England know almost every teams from the foreign league . Are the foreign leagues so much involved in their own game that they are cut off from the outside world ? A normal fan from poorest of country will know most of the clubs if he is interested in football but professional footballers claiming such makes me really wonder if they even watch English league under any condition. It makes me laugh for poor City but for english league, this is thing to worry about

I still to this day think Robinho just heard the word Manchester and turned up at City thinking 'why is this kit blue, where's Rooney and Giggs!'.

Agree5 Disagree0

12 Apr 2015 08:59:28
Maybe it's a more of a case that players were unaware that City were a good team (rich club is probably more accurate), rather than they had no clue they existed.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Apr 2015 12:14:10
A lot of normal people watch the epl because its well marketed and now foreign fans have more of an idea on who teams are because of this compared to 20-30 years ago. Sky changed everything.

But some teams are more well known because of their history in the game. United are world famous because of Busby, the babes, Munich, '68, Law, Best, Charlton, Fergie, Beckham, The 90's domination of the premier league, the treble, Ronaldo.

Liverpool are world famous because of shankly, paisley, Keegan, dalgliesh, Barnes, rush, their total domestic domination over two decades, the 4 European cups in less than a decade and sadly Hillsborough.

Teams become more famous, and more likely to be followed by foreign fans because of either great success or great tragedy. Both ourselves and Liverpool have had both success and tragedy. City have never had either continued sustained success or triumph in Europe or tragedy so they are less well known. Although sky and recent success is changing this.

Most foreign players only watch English games if they have a friend playing for one of the teams. Am ex club mate or national team buddy. They don't watch it for the technical aspects.

I don't doubt anything that 002 has said regarding potential managerial changes. But Van Gaal does give off an impression that he knows he is going to be backed at least beyond this season.

The hierarchy may decide otherwise but at least he himself believes he deserves to be there, Moyes I feel as if he knew he was a goner.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

12 Apr 2015 01:15:16
KC - the worrying thing is that ED002 said earlier in the season that LVG had upset someone significant in the hierarchy which prompted debate about his future and now there seems to another underlying issue the ED has told us about.

It's slightly concerning that he has only been here for 9 months and already on two seperate occasions his future is being considered even though he is in the top four. How can you go forward with unity if folk within the club are at loggerheads?

I personally think he will be here next season but if the right candidate becomes available Utd may be tempted to cash in on their Dutch chips. A little ruthlessness never hurt a team like Real Madrid.

Agree3 Disagree1

12 Apr 2015 08:52:52
Hard for us to know without knowing what the issues were, who with and hoe serious.
All we knows that at present Lvg is performing well. if we get 3Rd that would be the target hit.
Let's hope whatever happens the team continuevthis to the end of the season andinto next

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Apr 2015 09:21:03
JMB , what you are saying is pure speculation. Ed002 did say that LVG had p@##ed someone off. SAF p@###ed several people off during his time at the club , especially in the early days.
The "other" underlying issue that the End has mentioned , we know nothing about as he has not given any details about. This is the bit you are speculating about. It may be nothing to do with anything that LvG has done , or not done.
I too am only speculating , as I know nothing about either issue . But I am not pretending that I do.
The truth is , there will be a lot less desire to get rid of the manager if we end up 2nd or 3rd come the end of May. , that if we were to finish 5th or 6th.
If the future of LvG , or any manager for that matter , is under threat because of personal disagreements with a "suit" , then there is a bigger problem than just the manager.
Personalities often clash , but ultimately , if the manager is achieving his targets , and his conduct is not in question ,that should not be an issue.
We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes , so there is little point in trying to guess. That includes me , so I guess this post is pointless really. ha ha.

We know nothing about any of this but I'll be surprised if lvg is not here next season and beyond. I know some of his close friends here and they all say he's very happy at United.
