Ed002 - Why do you get so much stick from Chelsea fans? Just looked at the Chelsea page and there is a bit of hostility aimed towards you. Do they blame you because Sanchez, Aguero etc didn't sign? How can they put that onto you? I am surprised you give them the time of day.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Hopeless isn't it. All clubs have a vegetable quota of supporters that they need to maintain.}

Hi Guys
I personally can't see anyone major coming in,in January.Its no secret that Fergie doesn't like doing business in January.The only signings maybe a couple of youngsters for the future.I think there might be some players leaving and they could be,
Macheda
Diouf
Gibson
Kushack

That said I still think we need a world class centre Midfielder.

Good evening Guys
Well just 3 days until the Scousers biggest match of the season.
If they get a result I expect we will have to listen to them telling us that they are back and they are going to win this and win that.
I am hoping that it might be our turn to take the spoils after a couple of defeats there.
It will be great if Fergie can rub the salt into Kinky Kenny and then maybe the Scousers who come on here giving it large might disappear back to their own site.

Ronaldo to return at the end of the season after Barca dominate yet again. Berbatov, Owen, Park, Carrick, Gibson, Giggs and Kusczack will all be off the wage bill by then - that will more than cover for his wages. A fee was fixed into his contract for a buy back - typically shrood SAF.

Why can't people get of rooney's back,people have done worse than that and got no tongue lashing like that of rooney.
Was carregher's challenge not as bad as rooney's own?
how about zinedine zidane?
So you all especially liverpool fans slating rooney should get a grip of your selves.
Rooney is only human and no one should expect him to be perfect.
That aside,i can see liverpool fans coming here and saying how erique would cage nani,to me its just how short sighted how liverpool fans can be,if nani could rip ashley cole to shreds then what makes enrique so special?

I was on the Liverpool page earlier and the amount of times they referred to United and our fans as "spam" was disgraceful. I'm glad none of the lads and lasses over here resort to that crap.

I never thought I'd say this but the Liverpool lads that visit this site regularly for a bit of banter are ten times better than 90% of the neanderthals over there!

Mumbles {Ed002's Note - From my standpoint I always change the word "spam" to "spam" - so another Editor has let those occurrences through.}

Manchester United and Chelsea are among several clubs who have moved to distance themselves from Liverpool's proposal to break from the Premier League's model of collecting television rights revenue.

It is understood that Manchester United, who claim to have 333m fans globally and have targeted overseas sponsorship revenue as a route to increase income, will oppose any moves to challenge the status quo under which the Premier League sells television rights overseas on behalf of all 20 elite clubs.

A spokesman for Chelsea said: "We are supportive of the Premier League on this and want to continue with the way they sell [TV rights] collectively."

United insiders pointed out that their chief executive, David Gill, had repeatedly underlined the support of the club's owners, the Glazer family, for the collective model. Appearing before a parliamentary inquiry earlier this year, Gill said: "The collective selling of the television rights has clearly been a success and it has made things more competitive."

It is understood that Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will continue to back the existing arrangement that last season paid each club £17.9m.

The public stance of other big clubs will come as a disappointment to Liverpool, who were understood to believe that others would support them. Liverpool's managing director, Ian Ayre, said that clubs in other countries, notably Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, have a growing financial advantage over English clubs because they secure TV deals individually.

Without the support of those who stand to benefit most the idea would be dead in the water, because none of the League's smaller clubs would vote for something that would hugely disadvantage them.

Overseas revenues could outstrip the domestic deal, currently worth £2.1bn over three years, for the first time when the Premier League launches its tender process next year.

Liverpool would need to persuade 13 of their fellow Premier League clubs of the merit of the plan in order to force through the change since any significant change to the Premier League rulebook requires a two thirds majority.

Ayre became the first representative of a leading Premier League club since Peter Kenyon at Manchester United in 2003 to challenge the collective sale of overseas TV rights, which brought in £1.4bn over the three years to 2012-13.

Ayre said: "Is it right that the international rights are shared equally between all the clubs? Some people will say: 'Well you've got to all be in it to make it happen.' But isn't it really about where the revenue is coming from, which is the broadcaster, and isn't it really about who people want to watch on that channel? We know it is us. And others.

"At some point we feel there has to be some rebalance on that, because what we are actually doing is disadvantaging ourselves against other big European clubs."

Sorry for the copy and paste, but I feel this is relevant to our discussions.

ed i hope you can correct me if im wrong but looking at ayres comments and he wants the 4 biggest teams (liverpool, united, arsenal, chelsea) to get a bigger share. i think its fair that the bigger teams do get a bigger share but do you think its something to do with man citys and spurs recent improvements and liverpool hoping to make more money to try and build a gap between the 4 and the other 2 in financial income. tv deals are done on a 3-4 yr base and if the 4 teams could get one of these deals done it wouldnt come up for renegotiation until after the FFP rules have kicked in and the effectiveness of citys owners have died down.

GMN {Ed002's Note - Forget the FFP rules in respect of this. What Ayres is saying is that the money made from selling the games overseas should be distributed on the popularity of the games - and by the nature of of it the most popular teams are generally those who have the highest profile and it is generally those who are most successful, ergo the teams you mention.}

Vidic has decided to retire from international football. I think it's about time Rio did the same so he can put United first. This will give Jones & Smalling their opportunities for England. So we have a 30 year old Vidic and a 30 year old Park who have both put their club first to prolong their club careers.

So John Henry has declared his money grabbing hand. Wanting Liverpool to negotiate their own international TV rights deal disrespects the other clubs in the PL and the principle of fair competition.

Without the less glamorous clubs taking a fair share of TV monies we end up with the Spanish league scenario.

It is hard enough for other, less high profile clubs to compete, especially with the "sugar daddy" club ownership. What makes our league so attractive around the world is that on any given day, the smaller clubs can beat a top club.

Liverpool are blinded by self interest and envy of others success. Their abject failure to take advantage of their global commercial advantages is down to poor management, both on and off the field. This has led to their limited sucesses on the field over last 20 years. That is not the fault of other clubs, it is wholly their own. Their proposal reflects the desperation of this once great club.
So what next for Liverpool, change the iconic name of Anfield to "The Standard Chartered Stadium"?

I am pleased to say that Sky are reporting that they understand, the club with most to gain of any in the world from negotiating their own TV deal, my club, Manchester United, is happy with the current system.
