All the best and a speedy recovery to Darren Fletcher. Can't help but feel we've missed him dearly in the Champions League finals against Barca. Could have changed the results in my opinion- big game player.

Mail reporting Torres for sale £20 million, Id take him to Old Trafford for that amount, I know we need CM's but that would be a bargain

Just like to say Carrick has been playing like a man possessed. He is quite fairly IMO judged to have been under performing over the last 2 seasons but when in form he is undoubtedly one of the very best in division. He has all the attributes to be a consistently influential CM, it seemed as if he didn't believe in himself anymore. Gladly though he seems to realize that there is a starting job up for grabs.

Firstly I wish Darren Fletcher well and that he recovers from his illness. There are some things more important than football and your health is one of them. He may not be the complete footballer in my book but always gave 100% on that I couldnt criticise him.
I think the clue all was not well was when SAF said we have to prepare him properly to play.

There will be more speculation than before and if we needed a midfield player before that just increased substantially.
January is difficult and more so now it is obvious we are in effect nearly desperate. In these circumstances I would have expected SAF to bring someone who can hit the ground running. We need a creative player but I can see a Rodwell type coming in or even a loan. Whilst I would like to see a Ganso type the situation does add pressure for any signing to start quickly and a Brazilian arriving in January is going to take time to settle.

If I was going to guess I might look at Madrid, not at Diarra but perhaps at Khedira possibly on loan.

Get well soon Darren Fletcher. I want to see him on the pitch kicking Gerrard, & Gerrard kicking him back even harder lol. That's where he belongs, on the pitch.

All these Krasic rumours are nonsense, the price tag and the loan certainly are. 12 million is a crazy price.. at least 20.. we desperately need a CM, RB and a winger. Valencia has no end product what so ever.. he might work hard but very rarely puts in a good cross.. he needs to go.. Are there any rumours about the positions i mentioned Ed? {Ed004's Note - This is a rumours site, probably best to check the rumours page, am only kidding... I haven't heard anything}

I also think we don't have enough consistent scorers. Yes we have Hernandez, Rooney, Nani, Young, Berba and Welbeck, but out of them only Hernandez is a regular scorer. Rooney, Nani, Young and Berba score in bursts and Welbeck doesn't score enough. Look at City, Balotelli, Aguero, and Dzeko all score regularly. We need a striker! Gilly

I would like to wish Fletch a speedy recovery and hope he pulls on the red shirt again sooner rather than later!

Will fergie now sign a midfielder in Jan as i am now hearing that Utd are giving Cleverley until the new year to prove his fitness otherwise he will have to have an operation which could see him miss most of the season!

Now more than ever we need to buy. We need two centre mids. We need a left back and we need a centre forward. For centre mid a creative centre mid and a defensive centre mid would be perfect. For each position I am putting a less expensive but more gettable player and a more expensive but less gettable player. I think one more expensive option and the others less expensive option would be most probable. For creative centre mid, I would go for Mario Gotze or Marvin Martin. Ror defensive centre mid I would go for Javi Martinez or Moussa Sissoko. For centre forward I would go for Edinson Cavani or a cheeky bid for the Drogba. At left back, I woud get either Jordi Alba or Marcel Schmelzer.

I would personally buy Martinez, Cavani, Martin and Alba. What about you?

The Man City fans who used to support Chelsea who supported Arsenal before that are not sure if they should be Chelsea fans again.

Would any one agree with me now in saying that we HAVE to get another centre mid in now that Fletcher is taking a welcome and much needed break? Surely this will force SAF's hand, and don't refute with "we/you don't have no money" as we do, its the willingness to spend it from either SAF or some rat looking fellows higher above that needs to be questioned. Sorry ed(s) i know you will most likely of been asked recently but have we shown interest in any one as of late or maybe if youd like to share a "gut feeling".

After watching the match last night I think that the game changers for City are Silva and Aguero. They bring the creativity to the side. Without them the squad looks pretty average. But their best player wud be Balotelli. He may be arrogant but he's fun to watch.
Having said that I dont find any of the players who are linked with United being as good as Silva.

I would like to send my best wishes to Darren Fletcher and hope he has a speedy recovery. Nothing is more important than your health not even football, he has given so much for our club and we owe him our support at this time. I hope to see him one day pull on the red shirt again but if not then I will always remember a player who gave his all for the club.

Its sad to see Fletcher take an extended break from football. Get well soon Darren. Not the most skillful of players but always gives his 100% on the pitch.

With this blow i am becoming increasingly sure SAF will buy in January.

Some people react to far too many things on this site, and far, far too easily. People need to just calm down, and not react to some posts which are written to cause a stir. If you dont like it, don't comment, and they will eventually get bored and stop writing these posts.

Chris hoy (the olympic gold medal cyclist and national hero) has been getting vast amounts of abuse of thick as spud crap spurs fans on twitter, who have confused him with the referee Chris Foy. I genuinely cant believe this has happened, so dumb its unbelievable. Has any one seen that gold fish "Spurs guvernor" lately. The gooners will be loving this.

lots of names floating about who we would all like, heres mine;

INS

Vertongen (Ajax)
Erikson (also Ajax but a super talent who should be a star of euro 2012 will be alot cheaper in jan)
RVP (worth a cheeky bid surely if his contracts running out. granted Arse in CL but money talks)

OUTS
Berbatov (cash in now if we can i guess)
Macheda (never been a fan, not utd class)
Evans (fergies lovechild has to go)
Gibson (matter of time i hope)
Diouf (sure blackburn would have him!)

Im sure none of the above will come in but if those plus more go for cash plus free up wage bill then something could happen.

i know it is sad that chicharito is injured and that he has provided crucial goals but is it just coincidence or that his absence has caused rooney and nani to play more freely on saturday?

Martinez would be ideal as he could be a defensive midfielder who can pick a pass, and could play alongside anderson in a defensive formation or with cleverley in a more ambitious lineup. Then, if you want to add another attacking player you'd assume it'd either be a natural left footed winger or an advanced central midfield player like Ganso, Goetze or Hazard. Personally I think we're much better off with Young as a backup on the wing, centrally and as a second striker, but I don't know if he's the answer to our starting XI. Chicharito desperately needs to improve his control, possession, passing and build-up play as even when he scores in matches he rarely creates for others or is useful in breaking down stubborn defenses. He's a fantastic predatory finisher, but he doesn't help us much in other aspects. We need to get healthy, sure, but we are still a few signings away from being able to legitimately compete for both the PL and the CL. Agree?
