Unlucky today, almost feels as if city have cheated. I know they haven't but for the arab guys to come in and spend all that money in 1 season to create a team to win the league.

What is going on with everyone we only lost on goal difference not by 10 pts. Relax and take big deep breath. Well done city for winning but now the pressure really starts. What's next for ye,the pressure of winning the champions league and trying to keep the lid on the dressing room. I can't see tevez, silva, balotelli, augreo staying as spainish and Italian clubs come calling(remember ronaldo left us after winning 3 titles and champions league) so its nothing to do with winning things. Also look at the way some of the city players like milliner,Johnson,Barry and Richards have been badly treated. If kompany was injured for 80% of season like vidic would they have won the title ? We have all said from start of season that we need to do something bout midfield, now take fletcher,Anderson, cleverly out as well and shows we actually done really well this season. We know we have to strengthen our team and we will but cities biggest problem is that the players they will want to keep will prob want to leave.

Got back from Spain early this morning, and what a day to come back to..........

glued to my seat until the very end...... true united, even with this squad and the injuries that we have had to cope with during the year we take it to the last minutes of the season.....

although it is hard we must congratulate city on their league win. ( i hope it is their last)..lol

although we all know that this squad needs serious work (a world class mid, a lb and 1 more mid, striker would do) what would have been if vidic, anderson & clev's would have been fit all season..... we will never know.

i hope that we are greeted with some good news in the coming days about new arrivals as I think we could all use this.

As i have not seen any sport or papers during the past week, is there any new interest in players, or concrete news on new arrivals, and what is the latest with Pogba?

many thanks for any replys.

Well now that I'm properly calmed down (kind of), I'm gonna give my opinion on the season.

Player of the Season: Rooney - 26 PL Goals
Best Buy: De Gea
Best Game: Arsenal 8-2
Worst Game: City 1-6
Most Improved: De Gea then Welbeck
Most Missed: Vidic or Scholes

Hopeful team for 2012/13 Campaign

-----------De Gea-----------
-Rafa--Small---Vidic-Evra-
-------Carrick-Martinez------
-Tony-----Kagawa----Nani-
--------Rooney---------------

Outs
Berbatov 8 mil (heard rumor of swap with Kagawa?)
Park 2 mil
Giggs? retire
Scholes? retire again
Rio? Doesn't he have offers from US and China?
Nani - it's just me, but I think Nani is the type of player that wants to play week in and week out, but at the end of the season, Young had been performing better, thus getting the majority of the playing time. I think that if an offer of at least 25 mil came in, he may be tempted to leave for a guaranteed starting place.

Ins
Kagawa 10
Martinez 30
Cylne Free
Hazard 30 mil

Heartbreaking. Thats the only way to describe today. I woke up this morning resigned to the fact that the league was out of our reach. My heart was in my mouth from the 70th minute and, although I never thought we had won it, I dared to dream. It wasnt to be though. City showed character to grab 2 late goals and, although I hate City with a passion, they did what we have done on many occasions. They showed a spirit and fought until the final whistle, something we failed to do on a couple of occasions this season. So lets say well done to City but don't get used to it as next season you will be back playing second fiddle. Until then.....I couldnt care less about football and my sport of choice will be bowls ;)

Thats why the premier league is by far the best in the world. It might not have as much quality as it used to, but there is no league in the world that could have produced such a climax. The money won.....this time. I would suggest there is a fair bit of work to do at Old Trafford to compete next year. Liverpool? Well, where do you start? Well done.

Villarreal have been relegated. Just wondering if anyone thinks it would be a good idea to bid for Rossi? We will probably need a striker if Berba/Owen go. Do you think he would be interested in a return, possibly for a cheaper price now that they are relegated?

Let's all get behind Chelsea now! Not cos they're an English team and I want them to succeed but because of the reason that if Chelsea win spurs don't get 4th and bale wants champions league football which we can offer, I don't think he will go city cos they don't play with wingers or height that's why dzecko and Johnson don't get in he's my first choice signing I don't care how much he is, with his and Valencias service we may see Rooney heading 10+ in a season and 25+ goals for sure also it may help welbeck.

How is Barton a disgrace? He shouldn't have been sent off at all. Its that little person Teves' fault. Did no one see him running and kicking him when the ball was no where near them? And Barton's elbow didn't even catch his face, so why the f*** did he go to the ground holding the ugly thing?
Man City should have lost today. I'm not being a bad loser, Barton just shouldn't have been sent off. That ugly f***er Teves should have been if anyone was being sent off.

This might horrify some fans especially today but have seen how De jong will leave city this summer. He would be a good edition to the united team, creating cover on front of the back 4 and beefing up midfield a bit. I know he is a city player but we need a player like him. he is experienced and proven premier league player and he wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

Hi,

Manchester City being the top team in Manchester is not acceptable. Fergie needs to sign some quality players in the summer to catch up with Man City.

My main target would be Lucas Moura from Brazil but I think he will cost too much and might not want to leave Brazil yet. Therefore Kagawa would be a good signing for around 10 million to play in an advanced midfield role.

Then I think we need some cover at left back if Fabio is going out on loan. Clyne would be another good young English signing and because his contract is out at the end of next year he would be cheap as well.

I would love Hazard and if we can beat Man City to his signing I would be delighted. However if not I feel that James Rodriguez would be a good signing and can play attacking midfield or add a creative presence to the wings.

Finally I think we need a target man up front as we were lacking one this season. My first choice would be Llorente as he was immense in every Europa League game I saw him play this season, however due to his price I think he will either stay loyal to Bilbao or possibly end up at Real Madrid. I know I'm going to get some stick for this but if we can't get Llorente I think Heskey would be a good option. He's on a free and I think his raw power up front would provide United with a different option up front and he had a good goalscoring record when at his last good Premier League club (Liverpool). Finally he would be a great role model for the young kids like Will Keane to learn from and aspire to.

Do you think this is realistic eds? {Ed004's Note - I think it is, I honestly think a lot of money will be spent this summer. Wasn't it a few years back when we went a trophyless season and SAF bought Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and Tevez on loan?}

Still struggling to come to terms with what actually happened today! As a United fan I am absolutely gutted but as a football fan in general it was a simply amazing day of football. Credit to QPR who themselves will be wondering how they managed to lose today, it was a valiant effort however I must congratulate City. They thoroughly deserved to win the league this year, you can't underestimate how difficult it is to win the Premier League and Mancini has done a terrific job when you consider everything that has occurred across the road. So, hats off but we'll be back nexy year and they do say there's nothing worse than a wounded animal!

From our own point of view I must say that given the current standard of squad we have to lose out on goal difference shows you the mentality of MUFC. This isn't one of SAF's strongest squads and yet we take it to the wire and City narrowly win the league by a last gasp winner so we are not a million miles away especially when you consider the mass amount of money City have splashed out. The season as a whole has been one of disappointment. The League in particular we had it and we threw it away, that's the harsh reality. 4-2 at home to Everton, we shouldn't be throwing away points , 1-0 away to Wigan, again a big moment. The Champions League was a disaster! We have to learn from our mistakes which i'm sure we will, last time we failed to make it by the group stage I seem to recall SAF investing heavily and us going on to win it a year or so down the line. Domestically the Carling Cup was a failure, losing to Palace at home is so unlike us but again we will learn. FA Cup was another missed opportunity. Am I the only one who misses our name on the cup?!

In SAF i trust and always will he knows more than any of us on here so I look forward to the summer. I think and hope that this season has shown SAF that we are short on quality in the centre of the field as well as in some areas at the back. We are desperately crying out for a CDM and either a playmaker or a CAM. People ring off name after name, SAF will have his own targets, word has it that Kagawa is a certainty, on the whole this makes perfect sense. He is very talented and from a marketing and merchandising point of view it would gather more investment by boosting MUFC in Japan. In defence A CB and LB are required and possibly a RB. In attack we need a poacher. Someone who will guarentee 20 goals every year like a Van Nistelrooy. Huntelaar, De Jong or Van Wolfswinkel would be ideal. Just a few thoughts heading into the summer. Enjoy it City because we want our title back!

Well......what can you say apart from that it was a heartbreak.

To be fair, I believe that in a situation such as it was today, the team who has done better of the two versus eachother deserves to win, and City beat us 6-1 and 1-0...

Over the course of the season they played better, scored more, conceded less...nothing else we could have done.

On and upwards in the Transfer Market and for next season.

Ps. Atleast Liverpool gave us another reason to laugh at them today ;)

As usual boys I will post my thoughts as honestly as i can.

Im sure your all gutted and dissapointed by todays results and more pertinently the fact that you must have thought youd won the league today. It must have been tough, but it wasnt meant to be, even though I know you must be hurting.

If Im honest, I am pleased by the general response of all the decent man united supporters on this site who have given credit to citeh's result.

It shows class and honour, not an easy thing to do in the modern era and the unfortunate circumstances you find yourselves in.

Take pride in the fact that there was no one near you in the league and you only lost it by the smallest margin.

I have never thought that the united team were good enough to win it this year, and i told you all on many occassions, but you have surprised me, and the table does not lie.

You almost got there on merit, by amassing more points than the rest, it was just hard luck. It happens

Show pride in your team , accept that you cant win everything.....but most importantly keep supporting your team vociferously....like the rest of us support our own teams..... and lets all dream our own dreams.

Well done Citeh, hard luck United, must do better Liverpool

Congratulations to City they were the better team and deserve the title.

It was tighter than expected but when they said 5 minutes injury time and they scored I thought they would get another, just that sort of season. That has given City not only the belief to win it but also keep going to the end of games a spirit we have benefitted many times from. We did well to make it that close but they now have a belief that only we had previously.

It will also be mentally shattering for our boys who did the job today. We made a good effort but were not good enough. The player that scored their winner is a top striker and cost 38m , he was value in a market where there wasn't any

The Glazers and Gill need to be brave decisive and spend what it takes to compete

Well done to city now we see how we respond

Well congrats to City, over the course of the season they deserved it we took it to the wire with injuries and a sub strength Utd squad. We will live to fight another day. I think with some decent signings in summer we'll be a force again, I can't really see who City could sign to improve their starting XI bar Ronaldo or Messi which isn't going to happen. We're so close, Oh my God!

People may not agree with me, but, the season(Premier League) wasn't that bad. We had to deal with injuries and lack of quality but we still managed to fight on the last day, wow.

We need reinforcements, yes, we need. City, Chelsea, Arsenal will be stronger next season and SAF can't think otherwise.

But We'll be stronger next season if we bring World class players, this stories about only young players may cost us again the title for one or 2 season until they gain enough experience. We must mix young and experienced and proven players to help us next year in Europe as well.

we need to sign some world class players so this is what i think next seasons line up should be.

de gea
walker vidic hummels banies
martinez
valencia bale
snjider(spelling)
rooney falcao

but saf wont want to buy 7 new playes that would cost over 200m but this would mean that we would have 20+ goals a season strikers in rooney and falcao and the we would have snjider crating the goal along with bale and valencia while martinez would sit in front of the back four and try and break the other teams play.

so next seasons team is most likely to look like this

de gea
clyne vidic jones banies
carrick
valecnia gatain
kagawa
rooney hernadez

this team would cost us over 50m but i dont feel that clyne would be a good singing as he i not proven in the prem and could turn out to be another flop, he looks a good prospect be we need to buying world class players like city have if we want to win the title next season or man city willl dominated it until thier owns sells them on.

a few other players we could look at:
kadhira -r.madrid
ozil - r.madrid
gomez - b.munchic
cavani - napoli
di maria - r.madrid
huntelaar - schalka
lewandowski - b.dortmund
hazard - lille
rvp - arsenal
cisse - newcastle
modric - spurs
pique - barcelona

another thing we could do is get some new owns that dont take 500m out of the club a try and get some one that will put 1b of thier own money in to the club we will be looking a getting someone or a group from russia or the middle east.

overall we need som that will take on a few player like ronaldo did we thoungh nani was gonig to be able to do it but he has not been able to.

I f**king love supporting this club! Today is disappointing, and certainly a dagger to the heart of us all, but we are Manchester United. We move on. We accept the challenge and try to overcome it. We have seen 2 injury time goals beat Bayern Munich in 1999. We have seen our first title in 26 years in 1993. We have seen legends like Best, Charlton, Cantona and Ronaldo. We've had the greatest manager there's ever been. We've won 12 titles in 20 seasons.

Yes, it's City's day today and well done to them, but it's taken 800m for them to beat us.

This was a cheap lesson, ladies and gentleman. Sadly, it looks like city may have the stones to hang around for some time. Nonetheless, to have come so close with so much going against us . . . this season can and must be viewed in a positive light. The youngsters will be ravenous to prove themselves next year. The necessary signings will be made in the summer. The tactics will be tweaked accordingly and we will be battling down to the wire with City with renewed fervor. Honestly, its exhilarating to be in such a moment, gutted as we may be. Since it has become clear that Liverpool are no longer the force of old, I find myself somewhat riveted by the prompt ascendance of a new rival to spur us on - particularly when City represent such a universally loathsome opponent. The gauntlet has been thrown down. The challenge has been spelled out. I fully expect us to respond in kind. After all, we are Manchester United.

Well, Im sure the Ed's are going to have a busy day and I'm trying to take my mind off of what just happened and remain positive.

First off, congrats to City and their winning of the title. Best team wins at the end of the day.

Overall, our season was disappointing. First time in a couple of years that we have ended trophy-less. The lads played well over the course of the season, but there were a couple of eye opening performances and results. Crystal Palace, Basel, Bilbao, Everton, Blackburn, and the list goes on.

Some may point to Fergie's tactics and team choices throughout the course of the season. I believe that these allegations do have substance and are justifiable. But, I believe that Fergie did the best with what he had.

This comes to where I think we fell short. Our captain. Once we lost Vidic, our team was nowhere near as strong. City had Kompany, and it is easy to see his influence in their side, and it is evident to me that we missed our influential leader and captain. Evra is no captain and will never be. He did not show the same amount of leadership ability and influence on the field that Vidic has. How did Evra get the armband of Ferdinand? With a leaderless squad hit by injury, no wonder we didn't win anything.

Anyway, *sigh*, I'm going to have to smoke something and get it on with the woman to calm me down and forget about it and look forward to next year. Hopefully we can add some players, not many. Maybe 1 or 2 first team players, and a squad player or two. I think that's all we need. With Vidic coming back (I tore my ACL in December) he'll be back to normal. I get great treatment for my injury, so I kind of laugh to myself when I think of what kind of treatment he gets! Anywho lads, now this site will be fun with the crazy rumors and speculations.

Cheers,
Sparty On {Ed004's Note - I am only on less than 5 mins and have banned quite a few people already. However, the United site is far busier than the Man City site other than some Pool celebrating in another teams success and some ManUtd posters congratulating City it has been quiet over there. Hi Guys
I cannot believe what I've just witnessed.2 goals in injury time I really thought we had done it.I feel so deflated right now. That said congratulations to City as we always say when we win it that the best team over the season wins the league. Now we will see just how much fire Fergie still has in his belly by who he goes out and buys in the window.Midfield needs attention and maybe a class striker but we will see.

He's beaten Liverpools record of 18 titles, he's fended off the challenges from Mourinho's Chelsea and Wenger's Arsenal and he will take Mancini's Man City down aswell

Bring on next season!

For all those who are down, we will be back next year, you have to believe that SAF will accept nothing less than the Championship next year. None of the Liverpool fans can say anything, they finished eigth and won the trophy that is on par with the Community Shield which we won.

We played great and i think thats the type of football that we can look forward to next year if not better. Young and Giggs swapped all the time, that will be Young and Kagawa next year or even Hazard and Kagawa. Rooney will score a hat full once again, we will have less disruption in the back four and the youngsters like De Gea will be a year older and will use the hurt to spur them on.

Its not all doom and gloom lads, we will do it next year, you mark my words.

Ed what do you think of this?

"Sports broadcaster and writer Tim Long has completed a mammoth study (ww w.thesportscaster.n et) into the effect incorrect refereeing decisions have had on this season's Premier League title race. Replays of all potentially important errors were watched up to six times in slow-mo and super slow-mo. For penalty decisios, he viewed footage from several different angles. His criteria was to support the referee's decision where this was at all possible.
His conclusion? Incorrect decisions cost Manchester City two points and Manchester United six. If City are crowned champions today, United fans can console themselves with the thought they are the real champions."

Whatever happens today we are still Manchester United and should be proud of that but we are in a desperate position when it comes to squad strength. We will only be signing players on low wages and re signing older players on lower wages. Other chairmen in the Premier now call us No Money.Com. As we do not like spending money. Of course we will be linked with everyone mostly by agents trying to stir up business but it also helps the Glazers if supporters think we are seriously attempting to buy players. I wonder how many of our purchases will have Mendes involved? Fergie will do all his fist pumping and make statements about how we will be coming for City next season but he also said that we never go into a game for a draw just before that pathetic show at the Council House. I ceased to believe anything Fergie says a long time ago. This is no criticism of him as a manager, I believe him to be the best but as a person I think he leaves a lot to be desired but maybe i am prior to more info about him than most and as The Irish race horse owners found out it is not good reading. What it does do is allow the Glazers to treat him as a puppet knowing he would never question them. The difference is my friends is that me and you lot out there will still be here supporting United when Fergie and the Glazers have gone. We do it for love not money. I AM KLOOT

Forget young promising players, you can't win things like that anymore, city will just buy more class cause they have an unlimited supply of cash!

If Nani was to be sold this summer as some people are suggesting on here. Who would people wish to sign to replace him. I am unsure who I would buy to replace him. Di Maria may be leaving madrid this year and he has a good left foot on him. Bale might be leaving spurs this year and Rodriguez looks like an exciting talent. Or you could go for the French league player of the year. Hazard. He has 17 goals and 16 assists in 36 league games and he has been involved in 49% of his teams goals this year which is the most onthe league. I am genuinely not sure who I would choose out of those 4.

Just opinion here no stories.... Personally I think that we should look to cash in on the following players.... Nani, Berba, Anderson, Kiko and then some fringe players.... I know Nani has some moments that allow us to think he is world class but his inconsistent form frustrates alot of people and one of our best players, valencia can sometimes suffer... with the wage space and money from these sales we should look to kagawa, a LB, a defensive minded midfielder and a striker also...

Just looking around the papers today, I really hope that Ferdinand signs a new deal as his experience is going to be invaluable considering we have the youngsters coming through in the back line such as Smalling and Jones. Their energy is great, but they are a bit raw sometimes, thats where the coaching staff and watching players like Ferdinand comes in. I think it is right for him to take a pay cut though, but maybe 30k would be more reasonable than 50k which is nearly reducing his wages by half.

Keeping some experienced players is vital, next year we will have Vidic, Rooney, Evra, Giggs and Carrick as definatly being the experienced. There is certainly a big question mark over Ferdinand now, also over Scholes, we don't know if Park will be here, Fletcher might not recover enough and Berbatov will be gone as well. Losing Pogba, Scholes and Fletcher from the midfield would be a massive loss i think. That would leave us with Carrick, Cleverly, Anderson and Giggs, two of which are very injury prone so work would have to be done. Since Kagawa looks quite likely, i'm hoping that we get someone powerful to play in midfield as he is not the most powerful of players. Fellaini looks a good option..

I must say i'm very apprehensive today, and will be about the whole summer, i'm hoping it goes well for us.

The problem this season is we have had to rely too much on very inexperienced players in defence who have made crucial mistakes in important games. De Gea home to Blackburn, Rafael home to Everton, Smalling away to City, and Jones's general drop off in form. Mistakes from younger players and dips in form are absolutely understandable, but the difference is that City haven't got that level of inexperience in their squad defensively, therefore individual mistakes have been rare.
In fact, when you consider that the Vidic injury has probably cost us, it is a remarkable acheivement that we on the same points as City, but basic defensive mistakes have cost us dearly from a winning position.

Was just reading down the page and someone has once again mentioned that Welbeck will NEVER be a prolific goal scorer. People have also said that we need a forward which I agree to but that would just be blocking Welbecks progression. He is still young and granted has a way to go in terms of his finishing but once he sorts that part of his game out(which I believe he will)he will become the goal scorer we need. His positioning is good, he is strong, quick and his link up play is good as well. All he needs is a bit of time instead of signing a "finished article" and sitting him on the bench.

This is one optimistic fan lol

"Would be a great addition. Would like to see 3 or 4 new fresh faces next season. Kagawa, Hazard, Baines and Eriksen should do!"

*Talking about Kagawa. This is from Sky Sports Website.

Premier League target Eden Hazard has taken to Twitter to announce that he has two games remaining in Lille colours.

Hazard's future has been the subject of speculation for some time and he has been linked with several of the leading clubs in England, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

There have also been reports of a bidding war between Manchester United and Manchester City and Hazard refused to confirm which club he would rather join earlier this week when he said he could wear red or blue.

But it does seem certain that the playmaker's time at Lille will come to an end when the season finishes, after he confirmed his exit plans.

"Two games more to play in the colours of LOSC [Lille] ...Sniff," the 21-year-old tweeted.

Hazard joined Lille from Belgian side AFC Tubize in July 2006 and made his professional debut under coach Claude Puel at the age of just 16 in November 2007.

Lille have already secured a place in next season's Champions League but must win their penultimate match at league leaders Montpellier on Sunday to stand any chance of retaining their Ligue 1 crown.

Hazard has been named Ligue 1's Player of the Season by L'Equipe after scoring 17 goals and contributing 15 assists in the league.

Lille boss Rudi Garcia believes the Belgium international has gone from strength to strength this season and still has room for further improvement.

"He should be part of the best players on earth, it is his destiny," Garcia said in L'Equipe.

"He has learnt football is not always played with ball. On a tactical level, he has hugely improved.

"He has moved better and his team-mates can find him more often. During the last few weeks, we also changed the system and he is at the heart of the game."

Copied and pasted from Sky Sports Website. Atleast its not bullshi**ing about him saying he will be wearing blue next season.

I watched him play at Old Trafford and felt he was ok but a bit sluggish. Allen was better but still not good enough. If we are to beat the challenge of City we must get away from the idea that someone who has a decent season is good enough to make us great again. Sigurdson had a look of Adam late of Blackpool and look what happened to him

Red Man

I agree on Siggurdson, he always seems a bit slow, selfish and lazy to me. But Allen looks top class, and has been better this season than any of our midfielders, he's brilliant passer and a little scrapper as well. But that isn't my point in this post, I've made enough about Allen and I'm starting to feel like Ed 007 about James McCarthy.

My point is, why should we not consider all options? Just because a player isn't hyped by the press does NOT mean they're bad. For example, who was a better signing Ronaldo, or Berbatov? Keane or Veron? Quality is quality regardless of price. Buying supposedly world class, will not necessarily work (Berbatov, Veron, etc).

I'd rather see Allen here than Sneijder, Sneijder's played about 10 games this season through injury. Yet fans still think we should buy him for 20-25 million and pay him 150K a week instead of someone like Allen, or James McCarthy. It's snobbery, media stirred snobbery.
