Josh king has just got a great hat trick against stoke, good to see an ex united lad playing well and although he wasn't at the level we need I can't help but feel we could do with a bit of his pace upfront!

We do have his pace up front, he's called Wilson but he can't get a game.

I think Wilson has had a fair bit of game time this season. Like the rest of the forward line he needs to get the ball in the back of the net.

To follow up Jackson's post, can I also say, please don't associate him/her with the rest of us from our beautiful province!

All these posts that we have to finish top 4 at all cost.
Dear me you can tell the younger fans, had one year out of the top 4 and they will sell there grannies for a top 4 finish.
What about building for the future, never mind top 4 what about winning titles and CL, does this team look any where near that.
Has lvg been able to get any improvement out of the current squad despite the biggest spend in world football in the summer.

Is there any thing to suggest that we will improve enough to challenge chelsea city munich madrid etc next season?

We have had a fantastic run of results over the last 12/13 games playing many of the "lesser" teams while our rivals have dropped points playing each other .
And the result is we are in the top 4 by a MASSIVE 2 points.

Our performances are poor and we have some tough games coming up against good teams teams that have improved and are finding some kind of form.

If some fans could take the red tinted biased glasses of and give an honest assessment of the how teams are playing, games left etc they would see top 4 could be a struggle unless we do something we haven't done all season and improve our play.

But then i think some are that use to success have known nothing else that they are unable to see it.

we are capable of top 4 with these players but unless something changes i think we may drop short
.

I think a big problem JRed was our summer spend we have signed players without having a clear vision of how we were going to play and set up.

I think last summer there were plenty of players available who we should have tried harder to get through the door who would fit well in this team but instead we bought erratically.

Having said that I myself would consider myself a 'younger fan' but you can't underestimate a top 4 finish this year. It counts for revenue, reputation, club attraction and confidence.

My biggest worry is we slip down the ladder the way Liverpool and Arsenal have done in recent years if we do not get our act together.

We will make top 4, if you look at it positively, we are playing so bad yet we ar3 3rd. Imagine when we pick a bit of form we will smash teams. I honestly believe we will make top 4, teams like southampton and tottenham will feel the pressure soon.

Our last 10 games
Spurs
Stoke
Yeovil
Southampton
Qpr
Cambridge
Leciester
Cambridge
West ham
Burnley.
3 hard games in there which we drew 2 lost 1.
Im not sure we played well in any of them 10.
Our next 10 will be a bigger test if we don't improve and we might , we may miss out .

The biggest issue is scoring goals. If the strikers had taken more of the chances over those games we would be better off. Spurs game is the big example.

Jred, top 4 really is that important. Firstly for the amount of money we'd gain being involved in the champions league and secondly it's a major pulling point for signing any top quality player. Missing out on champions league is more likely to make us decline further, that's hardly a good plan even if we're building for the future.

We do need to change, but I cannot see it happening this season under LVG. But while we're still winning the majority of games while drawing others we're on target.

Other teams such as Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool may be finding form, but it doesn't matter whether they beat a team 1-0, 2-0, or 5-0. You only ever get 3 points for a win and as long as we are winning too; and we beat the likes of the teams i mentioned above, even if playing ugly that's all that matters right now.

I'm hoping that we manage to get CL football, then potentially get Ancelotti to take over in the summer, or Klopp but that seems less likely from what i've read.

Cannot believe people are advocating moving to a 4th manager in less than 2 years. Why not simply make the mangagerial change an annual event . perhaps we can get a sponsor for that and throw in a TV vote as well.

When watching the Dortmund game last night I noticed that Marco Reus (who was fantastic) kept making this diagonal run from the wide areas through the middle into the opposing half with the ball at his feet. By doing his he was constantly opening up space for the players around him by dragging opposing defenders towards the ball and out of position.

It made me think of what a huge difference that type of tactic or player would make to our team. By doing this we would open up so much space for players such as Rooney, Mata and Herrera (when called upon). The big problem at the moment however is the only player we have with the pace and engine to do this is Di Maria and it so happens that he is the one who would benefit the most from someone else running 'Reus' style.

If anyone watched Dortmund last night and seen what I am talking about I would very much be interested to hear your views.

Januzaj has made some of these runs as well recently but usually he just ends up running into trouble, he needs to start passing a bit more.

Andy- Januzaj is probably the only other one with the pace and ability to make these runs but he just doesn't have the stamina. He would be exhausted after half an hour. Your right though, he does need to get his head up and spot the simple pass.

Agree4 Disagree3

A player like Reus is a necessity in the summer as this would give us te scope to play a 4-3-3 which I think we need to do to move forwards. For me, we currently only have 1 of our front 3. Reus + Benzema would ideally complete it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Januzaj (on current form) is no better than Grimes, Chadwick, Milne, Graham, Barnes etc. Not sure what he has done to warrant his recent pitch time.
