dublindevil, i never said we would win the euros, (we have a slight chance but i doubt we will) but what i was getting at is the spanish are crying because we beat them by scoring off a set piece and playing defence all game, but what do they want us to do? we would have probably been slaughtered if we had tried to play an open style against them, we might of been lucky with the win but a win is a win and like i said id rather win ugly than lose pretty.

PS: i never once said we would win the Euros nor do i think we will.

What do people think Robbie Brady's chances are of making it at united? He's quick and a real handful in the box and great in the air even though he's not the tallest, also he's a proper left footed winger. Personally i think he stands a good chance but feel he needs a loan to a decent premier league club(or at least someone who tries to play good football). What do you guys/girls think?

Obviously we need a LB and a DM to shore up our leaky defence and have a better foot hold in midfield we also need a creative player to bring more spark going forward, now depending on you view on this it could be a striker left winger(competition for young/rotate) or a central attack minded midfielder. Personally i'd like to see a midfielder who can play centrally or on the left when needed. The question is which 3 players would you like to see?

At the start of the season i wanted Khedira, Marin and Izaguirre
but now i'm leaning towards Rodwell, Gaitan and Alba.

Just goes to show how quick football moves on, although i'd be happy with any of them.

Who would you like to see?

"He had the best stats in the EPL for goals and assists. Wilshere had the worst, yet is Wilshere described as inconsistent? Nani is consistent, but people expect him to be great every game. No player is great in every game. Nani will finish the season with more goals and assists than David Silva, yet you and one or two others will call Nani inconsistent."

If you actually watch the games rather than study statistics then you would see that Nani is inconsistent. After all, statistics say that Berbatov was one of the top scorers last season so why on earth would he be on the bench?

Recent rumors have us linked with Javi Martinez, Mario Goetze, Christian Eriksen and Ganso. All would be fantastic additions to the squad, but if we could only pick two, which would it be? Martinez seems like the only one with any defensive awareness, so Im guessing the AM role would be down to the other three. Who should we go after?

Just a thought, when we don't sign a player, we then don't sign another one similar. When we didn't get Silva or Ozil, we didn't get any midfielder, and when we didn't sign Nasri, we didn't sign any midfielder, and I think we need to stop doing that. We are harming the quality of the team almost. Gilly

Good news that United have today helped save a local school boy club by paying the £1500 pitch fees for Manchester Boys Club. Only a small contribution when you consider Uniteds wealth but its good to see the club helping local grass roots football.

Just on the city site, there linked to every player under the sun. I wonder if they get up in the morning and say "I think i'm in the mood for carroll and Hendersen today, £55 million should be enough!" ohh wait even city know thats to much for those jokers!

there's a reason people are doing all england teams for the olympics. The northern irish and scottish fa's are refusing to have anything to do with it despite fifa's assurance it wont affect their status as independent nations and now the welsh are getting wobbly. We'll have to see what happens. But lets face it how many players from those three would get in anyway?

my opinion on the G.B team:
Amos
walker
smalling
Cory Evans
Gibbs
Beckham (Desrves it and prince william we back him up)
Wilshere
Ramsey
Bale
David Healy (Not a personal choice, but due to the success he has had with N.I)
Wellbeck

Subs: Giggs (Legend statue, but may dacline the offer, if he does Rooney or hart in his place)
henderson, carroll (Not going euros)
Morrison (Hope)
Bannan
Kelly
Phil Jones

I have chosen this team on what i believe is good enough, but when it comes to it, none of these players could go as the managers wont allow them, due to the forthcoming season.

Wenger want let Wilshere (espiecally injured long into the season) or Ramsey (also welsh board) go
Fergy May not want his players to go as i can see them all in the euros.
The only manager i can see relishing the olympics is Kenny Dalglish, as non of his players will be included in the euros and he will want them to get competitive games in for the new season, as they will be to used to friendlies.

When doing the team i also tried to consider all the home nations, that is why i included Healy and Evans.

Cristian Erikson being linked with united and city. Now i know that top players are wanted by top teams, but this city wanting every player united are after is sad.
Only a small handful of players choose loyalty and succes over money, and when city destroy the game by offering him big money its going to be hard very hard to persuade the player to move. Its almost as if united have to sign players totally obscure to the rest of the football world, a very hard way of business, because everytime we say where interested or make a bid, the team the player plays for, sees it as their oppurtunity to make more money and inform the papers and opposing teams that united want that player. I wish fifa ould sort it out, maybe installing a transfer limit. they could take the profit and sales made by the club, and place a limit for the transfer not to exceed the profit made, this will include sales of players, revenue and wages.
Also nigel de jong is wanted by real madrid, do you see this being a swap with Di maria or do you think there is a chance of ozil, kediara or pepe leaving.

Funny how people on here are near enough naming a full english team for team GB at the olympics.

I think Bale, Ramsey and Bellamy are the 3 best players for Wales but can only see Ramsey and Bale going.

TBH i can't see many Scottish players wanting to play for team GB. Who would people like to see from scotland, NI and Wales?

i see the spanish are making excuses to why they lost, saying that england played too defensive and only could score from a set piece.. well what do they want us to do against a team far superior to us? we wouldn't of won if we had played our normal game, i see it as good tactics from capello, might not of been the prettiest to watch but we got a result in the end. (all be it a friendly but still a good result)

i kind of see what spain are trying to do here, they want every team to play attacking against them cos they know they will probably win, but soon as a team wins by playing defence and tries to score from a set piece they start moaning and trying to make the team that beat them look bad and say they don't play football the "right" way. but to be honest i would rather win ugly than try and play pretty and lose.

More a comment than a rumour but anyway. Im already dreading the papers and various websites linking us with every player in the land over the next few months, sure it gives us chance to share opinions and have a little debate but more often than not we're left disapointed. I for one hope SAF has already set the wheels in motion for any arrival and the first we hear of it is when it flashes up that the deal has been agreed and its almost complete. No long, will he wont he saga (sneijder)

Just think, Phil Jones is just 19 years old. 4 years younger than Chicharito, 7 younger than Rooney. Just how good will this kid end up?
