Weren't you the one who criticised Sydney for using stats in the argument about whether Rooney is better than Suarez? If so, why did you use stats to show Carroll is better than Torres and immediately claim you were right, the exact thing you criticised Sydney for?

this is a bit off the wall but we ere talking in the pub about why united dont seem to want to spend any major ammounts of money on world class players and someone came up with a theory that sir alex has told the board that he is retiring in the summer but has not announced it like last time and that the club are saving the money for the new manager so he can buy big and get off to a flying start and this is why sir alex isnt kicking up a fuss about not being able to buy top class players (which certainly isnt like him he usually does whats right for th club and if that means paying a bit over the top then so be it )so he goes with the party line of no value in the market dont personally think its true but last time he said he was going to retire we played sh*te and looked like we do now so i wonder if the players know something we dont about the situation what does anyone think?

So the Torres link returns,now may seem a never in a million years wil happen but its fergie! Berba is goin&people can state the obvious we know he got it all but just doesn't do it,yes top scorer but that came with more like with a 5 or a 3 not spread over the season when utd say struggling 1-0 down away berba no use!so fergie will be lookin&wont hav 40mil for a striker as midfield is shocking! Fergie tried more than once to get Torres from athletico,note fergie statement when all going mad saying 50mil way too much,fergie described it as great deal any club would liked to have done!he knows what he can do&you can forget any statements Torres makes abou utd in past caus scouse connection caus if alan smith will wear red from leeds Torres certainly will! Does anyone think saf is playing Gibson more than we would like to help sell him on in Jan to a sunderland or everton. Then perhaps in Jan a couple of the younger midfielders will be on the bench and getting a few appearances

If that is as I suspect a negative post about our ability to obtain players ahead of other clubs, then it is very foolish of you. Over the years United have beat many clubs to the signature of top players. Most recently I would suggest Phil Jones and Ashley Young? I suppose for you the grass is always greener...

Times have changed my friend. With the huge injection of money into football over the past few years, players and clubs now realize that they can get ridiculous money. There is no such thing as a favourite club, Sanchez said it and went to Barca. If a person has to choose between Spain and England with the same money I think he would choose the former one.We need to offer better wages and more money to get players.
You say we got Jones and Young. Just tell me how many English players are playing in other leagues. To be fair Jones was a brilliant signing but everyone knows SAF wanted Sanchez, but after he refused he had to go for his cheaper alternative Young.
How do you think SAF wanted to reach Barca's level?
Their squad was already better than ours. Still they got Fab and Sanchez. And we got Young and our midfields answer was Cleverly. I dont think Cleverly is bad but alone in the midfield he cant do wonders.
Dont want to waste everyones time so the simple thing I am saying is:
I do not think we'll be signing any class players. But we might go in for some cheaper alternatives and hope they work for us.

So Ronaldo is now unhappy at Madrid, he did get a bit of an ear bashing from the Madrid fans on the weekend so who knows? SAF would definatly have him back and I think Ronny misses the club and the friends he has here. His stint in Madrid hasn't reached the same heights that he met at Old Trafford and for me a return would be fantastic news. If he does genuinly want out, and return to England then we would be first in line for him - I really hope this happens, if it does i'll be a very happy boy!

Its the day of the Man Utd Liverpool derby and theUnited players arrives at Carrington and say to Fergie, "Boss, were having real trouble getting motivated for this game as we always beat them so easily."
Fergie says, "Tell you what lads, you go down the pub and I will play them as I know I can beat them."
So a few hours later, after a pint, Rooney asks the barman f he can look at the score on the tv. It says Man Utd 1-0 Liverpool Ferguson, 10th.
So the tv is switched off again and soon the game is forgotten amongst many pints. Anyway, as they are about to leave Nani remembers the match and they look up the final score.It says Man Utd 1-1 Liverpool Gerrard, 87th.
So the next day at training, Carrick says, "Hey Boss, what happened, you were winning until the last few minutes?"
Fergie replies, "Oh, I was sent off in the 12th minute."

Why would chelsea sell torres, if drogba and kalou are of to the african cup of nations, anelkas been sold, the only recognise strikers will be sturidge and torres.
If they where to sell torres the only option i see them doing is buying higuain from real, and who would you's like to see more at united.
we dont need a cb, we need a cm desperately. lb is needed but not top of agenda and a target man up top, because apart from vidic who actually poses an aerial threat with set pieces for us anymore.

i think torres would defo join us, he left liverpool under a massive cloud. so i dont think he would have any problems pulling on the real red shirt. him and rooney upfront would be amazing strikeforce..
fergie would defo get the best out of him. i hope it happens..
i know SAF said he properly wont buy in january but that was before we got knocked out CL. when that last happened he bought Evra and Vidic..
My perfect January buys would be Torres, and maybe Rodwell. Him and Cleverley in the middle of the park would be a perfect combination for us for the future.. all these foreign names being mentioned are no better than rodwell. most play in a very poor french league, where Darren Gibson would properly shine. if Rodwell's name was rodwellini, am sure people would be demanding we bought him?

Why, if Pogba is so good, is there lots of rumours that he is going to leave in the summer?
Why would SAF not look at Torres? A fit and fighting Rooney/Torres partnership would be the greatest front 2 partnership in world football.
Why is Gibson getting such a long time to prove himself? It really doesn't make sense if the rumours about Pogba are true. I just don't understand it!
Why are the twins always injured? I think they are great, but they are no good if they never play, and should be replaced!

Why so many posts championing a move for Gary Cahill?
We have 2 young centre halves that are streets ahead of him & his current for for Bolton is hardly pulling up any trees.
We should be looking for more cover at RB because I don't think the twins will ever be consistent on the fitness front as good as they are.
I'm not a Rodwell fan but I do think he could provide ample cover along with Jones for the CB & CM vacated by Vidic and Fletcher at present.

the boy should be in the squad infront of Gibson, Park and more recently Giggs anyday......
experience counts for something yes, but there is a lot of experience in the MOD study but none of them would get a game now.........

Sydney, my name is RHJ I want you to know who's saying this so that you don't accuse me of hiding from you. You responded to my earlier post about the likes Elm being a good squad player by stating that you don't buy players unless they are better than what you currently have and then suggest the likes of Sissoko Alba and Izaguirre. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. They are "squad players" at best for a club such as ours none are potential world beaters so I don't understand why you responded to my post like that and then turn around and suggest 3 more "squad players". In terms of quality of depth in the squad we are lacking anybody can see that.

For the record Moussa Sissoko is a box to box CM and hasn't been in good form for 18 months now. He is only good enough to be a squad player for us nothing more. Also Alba's name comes up quite regularly he got destroyed by Sturridge last week, ridiculous to suggest he is an improvement on Fabio the oly thing in his favour is he is naturally left footed. Fabio has been unlucky with injuries so far but i'd take the natural fullback who captained Brazil's U-23 at the age of 17 over the converted midfielder who is suspect defensively all day. Stop jumping on the flavour of the month and suggesting them for us . Notice the calls for Bruno Soriano have dried up.

apparently pogba has agreed to sign new contract which if true is great news, i only worry for the next renewel if pogba still has this agent.
also while back i said we would get rodwell and macheda and gibson will go on loan to everton, hopefully with machedas agent confirming he will be elsewhere in jan this means i was right and that gibson will be going too (heres hoping anyway)
