Nice to see you back Blair. You disappeared for a while. It was around about the time you made your super signing - Henderson - 20m. He really impressed tonight! Haha. I hear Charlie's all but signed as well. And Downing's next? Scary stuff!

By the way did you get a good look at Jones and Smalling?

Ladies, gentleman, and penguin I have heard from a very reliable source that there is no reliable source and unless you are related to gill, SAF or glaziers then you know s**t. I know this is a rumour site and a fantastic site but when people start using sources in the club you automatically lose my attention and most probably everybody else's attention.

Keep up the good work ed's you are all doing a fantastic job on a fantastic site

told you all earlier. even if he supported Manchester United do u really think he will turn down barcelona, undoubtably on one of the greatest footballing teams of all time. Besides, hes south american and would much prefer spain for its climate. A couple of reports and all of a sudden everyone thinks hes signed. thats source was the DAILY MIRROR. A load of s**te in that paper. Did you all not see this coming. first chelsea was signing him then inter then Manchester United then barca then city then Manchester United then barca. This will not end, no doubt it will probably go on another wee cycle before it leads back to barcelona. most people on here are gullible and get sucked into like every report on this site. if sanchez joins barca, that gap in class is significantly getting wider and wider and wider. I don't mean to be a pain but could you at least advise me what was wrong with my post regarding Phil Jones and Jordan Henderson sent approximately 22.25ish.
If it was in anyway inappropriate I apologise I fail to see how it was though.

my mate works as a caddy out in las vegas and he was looking after ashley young and 2 other guys, said young was a complete muppet and very rude.one of the guys was teasing him that he wasn't a united player yet and he informed them he was 90% there but the whole saga is down to SAF he didn't say reason but told them that sanchez would be signed and barca pulled out cause they want nani to go to madrid as they think that wit nani and ronaldo there that ozil will not stay as he doesn't even speak to ronaldo and there hoping nani will push him into making transfer request and they have been informed that barca is only club he will move to and he has something in his contract that he picks the club and that is why he was so cheap last yr.young also indicated that nasri was united bound, i follow everton so believe or not as ya like !!!
------------------------------------------------
I'm all but certain that Ashley Young would not be privy to such information. I also think that even if he was he would not be giving it to random strangers before signing for a new club. It also sounds like a load of rubbish. Ozil was cheap due to him being in the final year of his contract last year when he was signed.

I watched the U21's tonight and couldn't stop laughing.
£16.5 million for Jones who looked quality and £20 million for Henderson who should have brought his own ball cos he couldn't get hold of the official one.

Having watched the U21's games tonight, I am delighted with the performances of Smalling and Jones. They look the real deal.
However, I have am very concerned about De Gea. He looked routed to his line a corners, and doesn't appear to have much physical presence. He looks to me like a keeper who is a good shot stopper, but will have little aerial command of his penalty area. A bit like Gomes of Spurs! In Spain he does not experience the physical nature of a PL penalty area. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but add moving to a new country at a young age, and being a relatively inexperienced player in an unforgiving position, I fear this could be a mistake. His physical appearance is like a boy in comparison with Schmiecal and VDS.

Something rather speculative and seemingly sad. However, just on Alexis Sanchez's twitter account - his official one (Alexiss7)...He follows 27 accounts, among them is MUFootballClub (the only football team apart from Udinese news which he follows). I know we already heard he was a self confessed United fan, but this just backs it up.

Surely if you have offers from 5 different teams, you go for the one you support??

Sanchez deal no where near complete, my source says that the udinese president does business like it's monopoly and david gill has been messed around since arriving in barca. No meeting has taken place yet!! Source also says that we might turn our attention to aguero and offer the same deal as what we are going to offer Sanchez. Wages will probably be a problem in that one.

Inquiry has been made into van der vart but Harry won't let modric go unless the offer is a very large cash deal. Mention of Carrick plus £20 million wasn't enough.

Sorry nothing on the nasri deal from anyone reliable but I don't believe wenger would allow it and it's mainly stories from players and agents.

Ok, Sanchez is a United fan and wants to play for United no? However, the hold up for more money is coming from his agent and club! I dont feel Sanchez will choose Barca because he wont be and automatic 1st 11 starter! With city, he knows in a way are trying to buy titles with all their money and seen upsets in past and recent players at the club! I feel if United go in with a offer to please his club and agent, the deal will go through. He knows by going to United or Barca (not enough cash when their looking at Fab!) will improve him as a player. United will sell him the fact of bringing Ron to United and making him great etc. Ive watch this player for a couple years and United can NOT let him join city! He is a BIG talent and still only 22! We have never aquired a replacement for Ron but this guy has got to be the closest replacement along with Wesley out there and United know it!

Plan A - Sign Sanchez and play him down the left wing... then sign a CAM.

Plan B - Sign both Sanchez and Young. Young down the left, Rooney to drop back into CAM position and Sanchez to partner Hernandez up front.

Plan C - Sign Young and play him down the left wing... then sign a CAM.

These plans will be decided by who signs first out of Sanchez and Young.

I just want to ask the people who keep saying theres NO CHANCE OF SIGNING SANCHEZ, DREAM ON, WE CANT AFFORD HIM etc. Why does the prospect seem so ridiculous?
(a) Ferguson has made no secret that he likes the player and he knows that if he does not sign him now someone else will get him for the next 5 years.
(b) Sanchez has said and i quote "Manchester united has been my dream all my life and they would be my first choice".
(c) Man City are not willing to pay overinflated prices again this year and they value sanchez at no more than £27m
(d) If we weren't thinking of buying him why did Gill fly to Barcelona for talks with his and Udinese reps.

Although some people are talking nonsense on this site and speculating in the hope that they get it right and gain a bit of credibility, evidence is that United ARE trying to make this happen and if the reports are to be believed. They are in pole position for his signature

Chile international Alexis Sanchez appears to be one step closer to a move away from Serie A side Udinese at the end of the season as the player's agent, Fernando Felicevich, has met with Champions League finalists Barcelona, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Manchester City finally stamped their mark on the summer transfer market by opening talks over a £27million deal for Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.

City bid £21m for Sanchez in March but Udinese value one of the most exciting talents in Serie A at £30m. However, club president Giampaolo Pozzo, whose son Gino is heading the negotiations, said City are favourites to sign him ahead of Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus.

'If Sanchez were to leave I would give City the highest percentage to sign him because English football is rich and it knows how to value young talent, ' said Pozzo. 'Inter, Juventus, Barca and City are all after Sanchez but no concrete offers reflecting the value of the player have arrive

Udinese chairman Gianpaolo Pozzo said: "With Chelsea we talked £25m. I want this figure, if not more.

"Yes, there was also interest from Inter Milan, which we decided to stop."

It is thought that Chelsea might be willing to go as high as £22m.

Now today it's united don't believe everything you read just because it says where signing him today.

He is going where the money is, if he was a united fan we would have already signed him. get a grip people.

Paddyred your rumours are brutal mate, so either stop typing a load of fabricated nonsense, or scrap your source (probably your 8 year old son).

Anyway, I'm told that Nasri will sign a new high wage contract with arsenal, Sanchez will be done at a deal in the region of 35m and a centre mid will signed. My source said he doesn't know who the centre mid is, or could be, but doesn't see sneijder happening. Sanchez is the main one though, so fingers crossed my reliable source is correct and all goes to plan because he will be awesome!

ANyone saying Ronaldo might go back to OT must be on something.
He loves Real Madrid. I have no idea why but it's HIS Manchester United.

Really hoping this Sanchez thing is true, although it does seem like an awful lot of money for a club living within it's means, even United.

Very sad that the interest in Rodwell seems to have drifted away. He could be an amazing midfielder at his peak.

Seriously though, the only time we'll see Ronaldo back at OT is if we play Madrid in the CL. We have to move on.

David Gill leaving Barcelona very unhappy and feeling a bit used today. Sanchez was never coming. all those people taliking about madrid reps being in barcelona today were correct. United never had a chance.
Due to our old friend
Ronaldo!...

Dont get excited, going to Shi::ty. The deal, is they back off sanchez, he gos to Real and Ronnie go's the other way. Deal struck in barca as no one would expect it there. In case it never got through easier to keep under the prying eyes of of the press.

Im not asking for you to believe me or be convinced. Im just putting the peices that you keep getting wrong together for ya. Check out ronnies twitter which pretty much gives it away.

Still doubts. Remember how ronnie works. the stories keep coming that hes being courted by a club to earn more money. its denied and not going to happen. then he changes his contract or swears loyalty to the club.

Oh hes been sold !

Any comments on this ED (love to see how you would backtrack on dismissing this if you do) {Ed004's Note - I am going to be honest and say outright, I do not believe this rumour... It is very unlikely that Ronny would go to City, and Sanchez to Udinese}

I don't know a lot about Sanchez but if the youtube clips are a true representation of his game then surely he's worth at least £30 million.

I'd probably go as far as £35 mil as he looks perfect for the English game.

we will sign sanchez, saf has been keeping an eye on him for a while n he won't let city beat him to that one, other teams will be stronger next season n they won't even make top 4 so why (other than just cash) would he want to go there, he's not daft he'l see that. No idea who the centre mid position will be filled by (hopefully 2 players) but we will spend big this season, proably the last time we will for a decade or something but this season we will, have faith guys.......in sir alex we trust.

The centre mid will be filled with sanchez due to the fact that he plays an atticking role in centre of midfield aswell as on the wing and upfront a very versitile player and at 22 a very good prospect!

Hi Guys
I don't post on here as often as some of you but I do like to view my opinions from time to time. Those of you with extremely good memories may remember that I posted to say that IMO United's interest in the likes of Young, Sanchez and possibly Aguerro was based on the fact that Fergie likes to play a game based on fast counter attacking football. Those named added to the likes of Valencia, Nani and Rooney seem to back this theory up.
I'm certainly not saying I told you so because thats not my style but I do believe that not only would this style of football be good for the league but would be extremely useful in europe.
What do you think guys

Barca will sign sanchez.when i woke up and went on this site i seen so many people say we will sign sanchez. Why all of a sudden have we got him?because gill apparently had a meeting in barcelona? Im pretty sure udinese people have had PLENTY of meetings with Manchester United reps AND man city reps AND barcelona reps and others too. And people saying he will prefer Manchester United cos hell start, ur wrong. Sanchez will replace pedro in the front 3. I REALLY hope im wrong, cos i would prefer we got him if barca or city dont get him than getting a cm. Whats te point in getting an alternative to sanchez if barca get him. They get stronger while we continually get 2nd choice. How will that topple barcelona!!what i dont understand is why fergie didnt get him 2 years ago wen ronaldo left , he would be a better player and would cost like 8-15 million.

Just so you know, i was on here before the World Cup saying United had an interest and were looking to sign him as well as Sneijder and Suarez (liverpool) you can't get them all but we did have an interest but Hernadez development put an end to that. Refrained from a bid last summer due to post WC syndrome and to watch his development. the Chilean miners thing was to push this through. Trust me when i tell you he is coming, however, he hasn't signed yet as some are suggesting.

I'm told that Manchester United have been given permission to talk to Alexis Sanchez after having a bid accepted. The fee is unclear at the moment but is thought to be in excess of the fee paid to sign Dimitar Berbatov. Berbatov himself looks to be on his way out to raise funds along with Nani who will be used in a player plus cash (£22m) deal in an attempt to capture the signing of Wesley Sneijder.

As a United fan I'd be very happy to see Sanchez and Sneijder signing. I can't help but wonder why Sir Alex would want Ashley Young over Nani though but who am I to question his judgment. I'd also like to see one of Pato or Aguero brought in to sure up the team for the foreseeable future. Milan are known admirers of Berbatov and as such I can't help but feel a player plus cash deal could be arranged (similar to the deal aiming to bring in Sneijder).

I know this sounds a lot like fantasy football - but given the money we have to spend we may as well go all out and create a team capable of beating Barcelona!

If United get Sanchez, expect Nani to leave the club. There's no way United can keep Valencia, Nani, Sanchez, Young and Park happy. Young and Sanchez would have just been bought, and Ferguson really rates Valencia and Park (for work rate in big games), therefore Nani will be the one to leave. Plus Unted could get a good fee for Nani.

He will either be offered as part of a deal for Sneijder, or be sold for straight cash. If the latter happens, I'd expect United to then try for Nasri/Modric/Sneijder. Nasri would be the better option IMO if he's actually interested. He'll be cheaper due to his contract situation, and is better played in a central role rather than out wide.

I think we'll have two strikers up front next season as Hernandez isn't good enough yet at general play to be on his own. There are then two options. Firstly we could play Rooney with Hernandez and then buy a CAM. I want this to be Sanchez as hes been most effective for Udinese there and he is a great player already.
Secondly we could go for Rooney as a CAM and then bring in a new striker. For this option my number 1 choice would be Higuian as we all know hes a great goalscorer, hasn't had the greatest of seasons at Madrid and isn't overly expensive.
Don't think we need any one else once De Gea and Young complete as well as then we'd have enough depth to cover everywhere easily with good players. Nani and Berbatov will probably go, maybe as a px.

All teams go through a lull period, all teams. What separates the 'class' fans from 'fans while we're winning' is their knowledge, understanding of the game and objective analysis of games. When are Man.U. fans (are there any in Machester, or all they all travellers and armchair geniuses?) going to have enough class? Too young, or bad memory that your sir Alex didn't win a thing for the fist five years?? Don't begrudge Man city their wealth (that's what made you successful, remember...?) and don't gloat too much at Liverpool's temporary demise. You've won so much, why do you still have an inferiority complex towards them?....Dalglish will rebuild with money, hard work and maybe a little luck, if Man U doesn't take it all...Be happy you're successful, for now....

Has anyone considered the other effects if we get Sanchez?

1) We get one hell of a player
2) We show City we don't care what they think n steal one of their targets
3) We deny Littlepool one of their targets. After all, if City get Sanchez, Johnson could very well be off and go to the Losers. So if we get him, City don't get Sanchez and Losers don't get Johnson :)

Apart from the fact he's brilliant, that sounds a good reason to sign him...

This is what I think will happen or hope will happen.

Nasri will stay at arsenal- cesc is leaving
Sanchez will not come to united overpriced- douglas costa will arrive instead.
Wesley sneijder will not arrive to expensive- a midlfielder in the 22-25 year old age range will be brought in.
Berbatov will be sold- a young striker in the 20-25 age range will be brought in, not in excess of 10 million pounds will be paid for him.

For people who are wondering why United are linked/buy world class wingers and ignore central midfield....imo Fergie has always been of the opinion that he likes his creative players to be either up top or on the wing. Apart from the Ginger prince (who was converted into a top bracket midfielder) we have always had our Robson's, Ince's, Keane's, Carrick's, etc sitting in a defensive/withdrawn role. We have never used Sneijder/Ozil type creative central players unless on a once off. This policy has served SAF well over the years and hopefully Young and/or Sanchez can continue this success.

United to make Sanchez bid

Manchester United are making an audacious bid for Udinese's Alexis Sanchez in a bid to pip Man City and Barcelona.
According to reports in the Sun, United chief executive David Gill himself has flown down to Spain to try to wrap up a £27million transfer for the 22-year-old Chilean.
Gill met with Udinese president Gino Pozzo on Tuesday in Barcelona to discuss the fine print of the deal.
This latest development will frustrate the Citizens, who were under the impression that their willingness to splash the cash would seal the deal.
The player's agent, Fernando Felicevich said: "An agreement with City? Sanchez's future is still very much wide open.
"We are working on it and, after meetings with City, we have other new appointments."
So far this summer, Manchester United have already earmarked £55 million to acquire Ashley Young from Aston Villa and Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers, and are expected to snap up Atletico Madrid custodian David de Gea.

I hear people suggesting that we couldn't afford anyone else once Jones, Young & De Gea sign. This is not true. Yes our "reported" transfer budget has been exhausted more or less with these deals but we will sell a few to raise more funds. Also people forget that with the retirements of experienced players, their large salaries are now off the books. Replacing Neville's salary with Jones' means that we will probably save £2/3M per year. That adds up and means we can put a bit more into the transfer kitty for the right players.......just a thought.

It worries me that we will be left short in this poition!!!!

Not a rumour but I would just like to know everyone's opinion on the Sanchez issue. It's a near certainty that Nani will be sold if Sanchez and Young arrive. In my view, neither are as good as him. Does it really make sense to sell him and buy players who are not as good? If both sign, where do you see them playing. Valencia, having limited ability, can only play on the right. Sanchez has never played on the left and would not get in ahead of Rooney as in the middle.

Eds, Sydney, MPez etc...how do you see them fit in and how do you see us playing? {Ed001's Note - personally I think Sanchez is a class above Nani, he would walk into any team in the Prem in my opinion. He is probably the most exciting player to watch in the world right now, not necessarily the best, but the one that gets you off your seat the most. I have made a point of watching Chile play a lot, for a silly reason admittedly that I got the job of managing them in an early version of CM or FM. Since then I have always kept an eye on them to see if their youth players were really as good as they were rated in the game. Sanchez has always stood out as head and shoulders above anyone they have, he is a top class player and I really hope someone in England gets him. I want to be able to watch him every week.}

Ah lad,
You apologised, but now you seem to be starting off all over again?!
I'm hardly "bigging" myself up lad when i said i was nearly 15 stone of slightly out of shape muscle - seriously come on now!
If i was bigging myself up i could have said a lot more than that but i don't need to as i'm not a "keyboard warrior".
If you met me in person you'd be surprised i bet as i'm a very approachable person - it just so happens i don't take carp off anyone!

I'm a Liverpool fan on a Manchester United banter page trying to provoke football banter not a Celtic fan on a Rangers site or vice versa trying to stoke nationalist s**t up!
But unfortunately some people lower the tone!
Mpez, i am sorry if i suggested you were the trouble maker - that was an error due to me being very tired today & unable to remember so i am sorry if that offended you!
Oh by the way i am only on yer banter page because yer fans keep coming on our site having a go & some banter so i'm just returning the "compliments" lol!

I'm not so sure myself but i couldn't care less really to be honest as i have had it before & i am aware that the vast majority of people aren't like that!

I lived in London before for a few months & English people treated me very well (only met one bigot).

I also lived in Germany 14 years ago for a few months again & again experienced bigotry, this time against an English mate of mine whom i stood up for (i wont go into what happened there as it was quite messy & i could incriminate myself lol - just kidding, sort of).
Theres always a minority unfortunately!

All i will say after this is that i would dare anybody to approach a big strapping Irish lad like myself (i'm nearly 15 stone of slightly out of shape muscle lol) & call him a leprechaun in a broad English accent.
Like a red rag to a bull!

It'd be the very last thing that they would see that night in most cases i believe (unless the Irish lad is a big girls blouse lol).

Anyway cool, forget it as ya say!

IMO Udinese and Sanchez will make a decision by the end of the week. United, City and Barca representatives have all met him. I think Sir Alex is in a good position here. Barca offered a player+cash deal. But it seems Udinese want the full 28m.

City can offer him and Udinese anything they want. The important thing here is that it appears he's not interested in a move there. Ofcourse Udinese would love to sell to City.

Then there's a move to United. The club he supposedly supports. The only stumbling block I can see is the fee. But most of money should be recuperated from the selling of Nani anyway? Wages won't be a problem.

I guess we're going to find out how much Sir Alex has to spend this summer.
