Manchester United have agreed a £20m-plus deal for Benfica's Argentine winger Nicolas Gaitan, with Fabio da Silva and Federico Macheda moving to the Portuguese club as part of the deal.

Anyone know if this is true? Bad deal if it is, Fabio is good and Gaitan isn't overly good imo

Night folks!
I do respect everybody opinnion but I don'y agree with some of the too and the most scary I saw today is about Guardiola accept work under SAF for a couple of years before take over.

Lets be honest and realistic about ourselves:
Guardiola is the captain of the best chip in the World(still is) and will be under SAF? We have a great history, tradition... But c'amon!!

SAF is a huge Manager but Guardiola is a very prospect good coach too(wondermanager).

Many people may not agree but I enjoy it more when SAF takes a gamble on a younger player and it pays off, a bit like De Gea ATM. (only if they have already signed another experienced player first though). Berbatov will leave next season and Welbeck and Hernandez are unreliable a lot of the time. A good young striker to sign would be Leandro Damiao. He's already 22 and got 5 caps for Brazil and I think he has scored 20+ goals in 50-60 games at club level. When gains more experience with us he would become a devastating striker and the attacking line below would be virtually unstoppable. (if Gaitan doesn't come just swap Nani over).

Young/Gaitan---Rooney----Damiao----Nani/Valencia

This site does make me laugh at times, and the stupidity of Syd more than anyone.
Guardiola would be happy to be under SAF for a couple of seasons, why would he do that when most of our players are not fit enough to lace Messi's boots.
SAF doesn't need to sign a top CM because of all the young talent we have at the club.
If that is the case why is our best player a 37 year old who has come out of retirement and probably saved our season.
Some people on here really need to get in the real world.
Cleverley and Pogba are not world beaters and I haven't seen anything of them to suggest they will be. Yes Clev needs a run of games but personally i'd keep Scholes and Carrick in the middle, they are clearly the best combination, we actually keep the ball.

I hope SAF realises that the prem is becoming more and more about the powerful strikers. drogba has done it, holt is starting to do it, jelavic is doing it and yakubu is doing it. people will argue that we have rooney but we need more of a target man, such as llorente, hulk or pato.

Man Utd Likely Summer Transfers

In :
Eden Hazard from Lille (£24-26M)
Jack Butland from Birmingham (£3M)

Out :
Fabio (Loan) to ?
Tomasz Kuszczak to Watford (£1.25M)
Zeki Fryers to Tottenham (Free)

Note - Utd scouts have repeatedly visited Athletic Bilbao games which confirms an interest in EITHER Javi Martinez, Iker Muniain, Ander Herrera or Oscar De Marcos but it is unknown as to which ONE of these they are monitoring.

Pogba and Zeki both starting for the reserves tonight, Were 1 nil down after 15 minutes, bad defending but were playing well, Really hope we keep hold of pogba and freyers, im always impressed with petrucci, keane, cole, lingaard aswell, We have some great talent coming through.

If you had to pick 1 youth player at the moment that you thought could make it in our 1st team who would it be?

Hi all :)
Just a quick word to you guys regarding summer transfers for MUFC. As you all know, for the pas 1-2 years I have given you guys the correct information regarding transfers (such as Berba to United for 30m).
This year, SAF will buy two players, and let 3-4 go.
These are as follows:
In - Gaitan 25m + Macheda
Higuain 25m

Out - Scholes (RELEASED)
Berbatov - 12m
Owen 3m to Sunderland

I obviously cannot guarantee these rumours for sure, but these are what my man on the inside at OT has heard from SAF.

who will be the manager for utd when the legend SAF retires he cant do it forever.

i think SAF should get a manager like avb to join his staff to be his assistant so he can teach him the tricks of the trade so when he retires he has his spawn to take his place.

why do some people think because fabio goes on loan fryers will get games
fabio isnt getting games now so why would fryers next season he may get carling cup but i dont see him getting much in the prem

i think SAF can easily get a hot young talent to utd just by discussing with them that he can make them into the best in the world just like he did with giggs, scholes, rooney, vidic, beckham, ronaldo and many more just what he will do with de gea, jones and pogba if he stays.

I know we are not in the running/interested in signing Modric but I would like to see us attempt to sign him but not for 50m as I do not think he is worth that but a player like him could really improve our squad as he would improve also like Young did when he joined us.

Everybody should just let the Pool fans get on how they like, and complain about Young. YES he over-exaggerated....but also, YES it was a foul...and therefore a penalty.

If they can't accept that their team are in the wrong just as much, if not more...then leave them to it.

do utd fans not think that english players in general are still well behind european/worldwide players in technical ability and skill , i mean england need to bring old scholes out of retirement , while hoping super stevie g gets into better form and fitness , and heck even frank high iq-3 gcses ,well its good for a footballer -lampard still looks good, and if spurs play the best football in the premership then god help us all , it affects us all as more needs to be done to bring young english players upto a higher level , now form an orderly queue and answer...............lfc {Ed007's Note - That's a very good point from you lfc for a change. After careful consideration and analysis all I can really say to that is.....Who gives a f##k about England?}

I think we should sign this Joel Pohjanpalo youngster from finland. Liverpool wanted to sign him after his trials but he rejected them.

Paul Pogba's recent comments (cut and paste) during an interview....promising :-)

Robbo

"There are not many tall players who can be skillful with their feet but I think that is my strongest point. My highlight was signing for United, it was a dream for me. My aim is to be a regular first team player, to be a top player for Man Utd, be a legend here, try to finish like Cantona, hopefully! I get on with everyone here, this club is very warm, all the team we just laugh together, even the first team players sometimes, I like everyone, they are all my friends. I love big game atmospheres, I love big games, you have to show big (opponents) players who is the best on the pitch so I just wish to be better than them."

Just a thought Ed's, Syd and co, if, as anticipated, 'Arry takes up the reigns with England over the next few months I think it's inevitable Spurs will sell one of their prized possessions. Could Luka Modric end up at Old Trafford? I highly doubt we could sign Bale, personally I think he is over-rated but he would be a good signing, so do you think Modric or Bale are potential signings or have we got other priorities in mind? Please though don't let the reports regarding Gaitan be true!

Wanted to give a special mention to Michael Carrick as I thought he was exceptional against Villa. He's such an important player for us and really excels when playing with Scholes in the middle.

To be a Manchester United player you must have a good attitude, Hazard doesn't have that. He is like Taarabt, petulant, moans all the time and causes disruption. If Gaitan is the man he will fulfill the criteria in terms of ability, work ethic and attitude. Hazard would let the club down and then run to Madrid at the first opportunity.

I think this latest Gaitan rumour is one of two things. Either its journalists jumping to conclusions, or there is some truth in it. And to be honest, I think that I am starting to believe it, something is ringing true. The price has gradually come down to a price you could see us paying. Macheda and Fabio need game time and Benfica would be an excellent place to get it. Gaitan fits the bill in terms of being left footed and versatile also. He'd be easier to get than other left footed targets like Rodriguez as Porto would get every penny that they could. If Gaitan does come in we should all welcome him, I don't think anyone was waxy lyrical when Valencia came in, but look how he has turned out. Gaitan's signing would also mean that Nani wouldn't have to leave, I think he adds another dimension to our attack, he will score goals, make assists and win games for us. He is also very commited to the club, something that the likes of Hazard would not be.

so with meulensteen coming out and saying fergie has watched hazard play and is interested, my guess is united wont be bidding from him..usually happens when rene talks about a particular player..

with fabio leaving on loan..who do you think should be the new left back? Ive read reports of city being interested in the Lille leftback..were united scouting him instead of hazard?
