anyone know if jesse lingard is still injured.
big shame about the injury. he started well in th pre season and prem

Believable0 Unbelievable2

17 Jun 2015 06:37:28
I believe he may be getting loaned out to preston I've heard. Would be a good loan for him, preston were playing attacking football, though whether they can produce the same football now they are rightfully back in the championship. I think lingard could possibly help get them in the prem through playoffs this deason maybe.

17 Jun 2015 09:00:19
The press have indicated Newcastle due to the McLaren connection as he had him at Derby last season. If he is to make it with us, which is doubtful, I think showing he can cut it in the premier league this season is important.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 09:45:49
He showed early promise but like Red Man has said it is very doubtful now that he will ever make it for us. Move him on for the lads sake if nothing else I say.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 21:30:22
Early days yet so no great rush but the better clubs do like to have their team finalised well before the season starts. Two years ago I thought Bale overrated and overpriced. I don't think that anymore and perhaps we should really push the boat out to get him, maybe £100m would do it. He's the right age and is the real deal. We've lost Falcao's wages off our bill. DDG to follow and maybe 4/5 others. We still need a RB, a CB and at least one midfielder but now is the time to get Bale.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

16 Jun 2015 23:05:46
We have lots of work to do on the squad this summer. Maybe, just maybe next summer would be a good time to make a move for Bale? Perhaps one more year at Real and he'll be thinking of home?

Wishful thinking on my part!

16 Jun 2015 14:59:02
Ok, scenario.
We sell adm to let's say psg for let's say 60m(just go with it). Now, do we go in to the new season with depay(new to this league), januzaj(young, inconsistent and inexperienced), young(not good enough) and mata(not quick enough for the wings)?
Or
Then who do we buy? I know everyone is going jump in with bale as the answer but that's really improbable. So, here's the question. Who would you buy?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

16 Jun 2015 15:10:57
Griezmann. He is the best out there and has proven himself in consecutive seasons.
Felipe Anderson is still not ready.
Firmino is a good player and I would like him but haven't seen him play on the wings.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 15:15:29
Don't watch too much foreign football anymore, but I always liked Konoplyanka, Draxler - on a domestic level , hmmm Sterling (linked well with Rooney the other day and it would be hilarious), but my first choice would be the Ox.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 15:15:52
If we were in that scenario, I think we would have to take a punt on someone or pay well over the odds for a player. Realistically, there wouldn't be too many players of the calibre we would like available from clubs who would do business with us. I would be inclined to give Andreas Pereira a chance and make sure we really tightened up at CB and CM so the spine of the team is strong which would hopefully allow Pereira and Januzaj a bit more freedom when they come in.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 15:30:52
Bale, hands down, no debating

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 15:39:55
I love it Harry, just dismissing the whole point he made about don't bother putting Bale.

I don't think we have a chance in hell of getting him though.

I agree about ox. He's going to be a fantastic player but it would be very hard getting him from arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 16:31:43
Don't see Di Maria, then we don't have that problem.

But the one winger I'd like to see here that isn't a Bale or a Neymar is Griezmann.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 16:51:49
If Marco Reus was not so prone to injuries, then I would want us to sign him. Griezmann is among the best young wide men, and I would love us to sign him, but he would be expensive. Failing that, Lucas Moura, Felipe Anderson, Pedro, Cuadrado, Turan, or Candreva could all be good options. Obviously though Bale has to be the first player we look at if we want to sign another winger, even if he costs £80 million. For me if we sign Bale, we win the league, and such a sign of intent might even convince Dave to stay. A forward line of Bale, Rooney, and Di Maria would be scary good.

Agree3 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 16:56:14
I'd love to see Reus here.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 17:19:44
We need a right wing so either Domenico Berardi or Felipe Anderson for me. Roberto Firmino for the Fellani position, Firmino is actually very hard working defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 17:44:45
Totally agree with Firmino taking Fellaini's place in the side.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 18:32:29
I agree Griezmann been saying that here for 3 years now, though I don't post much anymore.

Wish we would go for vidal though, probably the best box to box DM for the 3 years before this. Yes he had surgery last year, yes he rushed back too soon for the world cup, yes he was poor early last season started to play much better from xmas on. IF he passed the medical and i'm sure he would, we could get him cut price.

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 18:57:40
Well put Grund, Vidal has improved throughout this season, and he now looks back to his best. Incidently he scored 2 goals and created another goal for Chile against Mexico in the Copa the other day. Vidal is so much more than just a box to box defensive midfielder. Obviously he is superb defensively, but he is fantastic as a creative and attacking force as well. IF we signed him, a midfield of him, Herrera, and either Strootman or Schneiderlin would really give the likes of Chelsea and City a fright.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 19:42:17
Bale on he left and The Ox on the right. Will never happen but I'd love to see this.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 22:07:18
Griezmann Plays left forward or striker we need a right wing so he doesn't fit the need.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 14:14:41
Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 16:21:27
The guy is perfectly capable of playing on the right Rewz. Plus I think we will keep Di Maria and sign another winger anyway. If we signed Griezmann then Griezmann on the left, Rooney through the middle, and Di Maria on the right would be lethal.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 14:19:31
Just saw on TV that one of a pundit was claiming this Chelsea side is one of the best he has seen around . I really tend to disagree with that .
Yes! Chelsea are a very strong team but to level them as one of the best is truly ridiculous . Such team should be able to score tons of goals against weak teams i.e 6-7 goals against most weak teams and scare their rivals as Bayern do (I know bundesliga is weak ) as well as Barca and Real. Chelsea did win many games but it was by margin of 1 or 2 goals the most . Played very defensive against us and struggled against many teams (though they won ) . Only difference was they were far consistent and clinical .
I reckon with three top class addition we will be very close to them .
On a side note: How good is game of thrones ? :p

Believable2 Unbelievable1

16 Jun 2015 14:33:07
well the we must be a great side too then as we were the better team in both games. The pundits are as fickle as they come, love you this week and hate you the next.

Srestha - I'm rattling through Game of Thrones, it's immense

Onto the real stuff - Chelsea are benefiting from having real leadership, consistency in their selection and players knowing their roles. All three of these things we lacked last season, along with the majority of teams in our league.

When Terry retires they will suffer. They were terrible to watch last half of the season and frankly should give us very little to fear if we eventually start to attack at pace!

Can't believe another season of GOT is over. With the demise of a few more leading characters they are going to have to bring in some reinforcements - it's a shame the transfer window isn't open yet. Right now it's looking like the women rule, at least as far as the Canadians are concerned, but things could change when Brienne of Tarth follows Sepp Blatter's advise and pulls on those tight little shorts.

Agree2 Disagree0

Beast

Whilst this is a football website GOT is the best programme around. Read up on Azor Ahai and think who it might be.

Chelsea are functional, organised and control games by smothering the opposition. It worked very well last season but they need more flair if they want to win it again and challenge in Europe. Terry is a key player and if they have a run of injuries then it will challenge them. Still one or two top additions like Griezman who has notably improved at AM will set them up very well.
We have a big gap to bridge.

Never watched g.o.t. But currently holidaying in Dubrovnik and Split (among other parts of Croatia) and there are signs, banners, tours everywhere to do with it. Maybe I'll have to give it a watch upon my return, since everyone is raving about it.

As an aside, I was sipping an amoretto sour this morning on Hvar island and Martin Skrtle was drinking corona on his yacht right next to me! Should have given him some abuse after his "anyone but united" comment but I left him in peace, lucky boy 😊

Otamendi is good when the ball is on the ground. He is fast and makes good interceptions. But I'm not sure if he's good enough in the air. The defenders in the Spanish league are not tested so much in the air but in England he might find it difficult.

Not sure where you got your description of him. He is a beast in the air and leads the spanish league in headers by a defender both offensively and defensively mate. He is like Vidic in the air. He is not as good a passer as hummels but quicker and has that nasty argie streak which is good for a defender.

If we do not sign Kane and Wilson has a breakout season then next season nobody will be calling for Kane to be signed.

Hope he can stay fit and kick on.

If we do not sign a striker and keep RvP then keeping Wilson as 3rd stiker makes sense as both Rooney and RVP aren't the fittest of strikers.

However if we do sign a striker and do not sell RvP then we should loan Wilson.

Given the talent we have in mid and wide areas it does makes sense to play with just 1 striker who imo should be Rooney.

Same with Januzaj, if we do sign a striker or Firmino I do not see Januzaj making lot of appearances and so he should be loaned.

Hi all, thanks to the Eds as always for the site.
Firstly can I clarify why Ed002 not posting on here anymore? Is it down to the trolls? Ed002 offers great perspective this time of year so I hope this is a short term status?

Secondly, several sources are suggesting that our most likely signings in different positions are:
GK: Lloris (should De Gea leave)
CB: Otamendi
RB: Coleman
CM: Scheiderlin
CF: Kane

If this is how the Summer were to play out I'd be happy, but can Eds confirm whether these players will be signed?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

16 Jun 2015 14:13:51
I don't think any of the eds can confirm that these players will be signed they can only tell us if they are of interest to us. As for Coleman I haven't heard any rumours suggesting he could be coming clyne is probably the most talked about rb.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Everton were asking too much last I heard on Coleman and United baulked at the price.}

16 Jun 2015 14:16:45
How does anyone posting make a difference to who we sign. You guys need to grow up and leave it alone.

No one including any off the Eds could tell you with more than 30% certainty what we are up to. Herrera, Falcao, Rojo were all signings last year no one mentioned. We are the only club that is silent on all matters and that is unique about us like many other things. Scousers are a bit like that too. I guess it all is down to tradition and history.

I mentioned shaw being a sure thing in jan 2014 when everyone was posting bs about his love affair with Chelsea and going there. That was from someone from within the club on social event here. I guarantee we will sign players people most people have never mentioned one utter word about.

Stop grovelling and get on with it.

GCU,
I'm confused, are you feeling ok? I find this site particularly helpful with regards to runours etc and have asked questions here before that are nearly almost all directly answered by an Ed or a another fan who can offer an insight.
I find your post totally un-necessary, but congratulations on the 'Shaw' front. Blimey, hadn't realised it was all about you, perhaps the Eds should rename the site 'GCU-Rumours'.

King

My point is if the guy does not want to post here get over it and get on with it. It has nothing to do with me and that piece of info just happened to be shared given the circumstances. In all honesty I have no Idea what we are up to but believe Ottamendi being the only true interest we have but will never pay the release clause as it is exorbitant and if we end up doing a deal it would be at a lower number. I also believe Benzema and Bale being targets but the latter looks unlikely but Benzema might end up being the big transfer. Don't be surprised if you start seeing Verrati stories come up as the window opens.

Common sense mate, we are after a key a striker and that was proven with the Falcao purchase last year which did not work out.

I think we will end up buying a right back no one thought about.

What seems to have got lost in Eds write up regarding Firmino on the euro pages is a good write up about the current situation with Gundagon aswell.
Seems Bayern or United bound to me. What concerns me is with Arsenal and City unlikely to take a risk with his fitness should we have learned our lesson with players like this, Hargreaves, RVP, Falcao etc. plus we seem to have a back like full of injury prone players.
What you guys think, is Gundagon worth the risk at the right price or not?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Jun 2015 12:23:34
Yes, I think so. At the right price the risk would be minimal, and I am sure we would do extensive tests on him. Good player, wonderful player before his injury, if he gets back to that form he could prove to be a bargain.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Jun 2015 13:24:09
For a club like ourselves anything under £20 million is not a huge risk in the grand scheme of things. I'd suggest that he is worth it, but there are others I'd go for first.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 13:34:44
I wouldn't touch him. I think he's not the same player he was pre injury and we'll be making a huge mistake.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 15:32:15
Personally I would prefer us to sign Schneiderlin or even Strootman. Obviously Strootman has had his own problems with injuries, but I think he would suit our team far more, so he would probably be less of a risk, and as for Schneiderlin I think he would also suit our team much better and he hasn't had many injuries concerns at all. If we signed Gundogan I would question where that would leave Herrera, who I think is absolutely superb, since I don't think Gundogan is quite good enough defensively to play as the most defensive midfielder in a 3 man midfield. Plus if we were to sign a creative midfielder as well, I would prefer us to sign Miralem Pjanic. What would you think of a midfield of Strootman/Schneiderlin, Herrera/Pjanic, and Mata.

So talk over the last couple of days, in the media, has been that Real are going to come in with a bid of around £13m for DeGea, and don't seem to mind if it is a drawn out process. Now, IF that is accurate and we are willing to sell, we need to be strong for once and set a deadline for the deal to be done, if not he stays the season. We can't be having it drag on and on as we have a CL qualifier etc to prepare for. If they want to mess about with a pathetic offer, then it is up to our boys to get tough.

Do any of the eds have any idea on what is happening, and if the media talk is correct on such a pathetic offer?

Cheers chaps and chapesses.

Believable10 Unbelievable5

16 Jun 2015 09:46:09
Absolutely right.

We need to tell them our (reasonable) price and tell them and DDG a date until which the offer stands. If they can't complete the signing then DDG stays.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 09:48:25
Not saying we should accept that type of derisory offer Brendan but at the end of the day mate he will be going whether that figure be £13million or on a free next season. It's all well and good to say we should stick to our guns but a loss of whatever De Gea could potentially sell for is still a loss regardless of the amount.

He won't renew, if he was going to he would have done so by now. Do we really want to keep a player who doesn't want to be here? If he stays will he still have the professionalism to play with 100 percent commitment for a club who blocked his move back to his native family home? I hope so but you can't be 100 percent certain.

At the end of the day mate De Gea owes United a big sweet nothing. He has done his job well and both parties have reaped the rewards for that being the case. Do I want £13million for him? No I would want more. But do I want to let him go on a free and risk an unhappy player in the squad for the season we should be competing for a title? Hell no. Be it large or small we should get some cash for him and that's where our men dealing with the negotiations should be earning their stripes.

Agree6 Disagree9

16 Jun 2015 09:56:15
Real Madrid don't see all players as being equally as important. Goalkeepers and defenders aren't thought of in the same way as strikers and attack minded players. As such they won't pay as much for them. Perez has a idea that every summer Real Madrid need to sign a superstar to create a buzz around the club and to push the marketing and off field revenues.

I have no doubt that Real Madrid will want to sign De Gea this summer but they won't want to spend a lot of money on him as they will want to spend there money on a more commercial player such as Pogba or Aguero or someone like that.

We won't get 35m for DDG from Madrid, the most I expect we will be able to get would be 25m and that's likely to be more like 18m with 7m in add ons. Real Madrid just won't pay it. They would just keep Casillas and Navas for another year and sign DDG on a free next summer.

The fact remains that De Gea will end up in Madrid either this summer or next, so de we do what Dortmund did with Lewandowski and cut our noses off to spite our face or do we make a deal.
Personally keeping DDG here when he doesn't want to be will just spoil what has been a good career with us and leave us with a sour taste in the mouth. Dortmund took a strong stance with Lewandowski but look at how its changed now with Gundogan. Maybe they've learned something from that experience.

As much as I would like to go f**k them and make him stay, it is not in the short term or long term interests of the club for us to do that. If DDG want's to leave then we should wish him well and sell, then we can move on and start building for the future.

{Ed001's Note - you forget, they pay more for Spanish players, as that increases their marketing value.}

If we only get 13m then keep him for another season. He has won us many points this season and if we gel as a team and get quality significant game having him may be the difference between winning or losing a trophy. Secondly it may mean Madrid sign another keeper instead because frankly Casillas is past his peak. Third De Gea won't lose out as he is still young and would get a very nice signing on fee for whoever he signs next year. Lastly he may decide to stay with us next year if he sees big improvements to our performances.

I understand the lure of Spain and his home city but for somebody who I always thought a decent lad he had left us in the shit. The club stood behind him throughout the tough and torrid times and he repays us by allowing his contract to dwindle down to a year knowing that we will sell this summer. For everything we have done to develop him to the player he is today, I'd expect more respect from the lad to be honest but then again there is no respect or loyalty left in football.

Sell him is the only option.

Another point of view would be to look at the bigger picture. A very cheap sale would make us look weak. Then some spanish club would want mata for 20m or januzaj for 10m. We should simply tell ddg that we have set a price for you and have no intention of blocking your move if madrid pay that price.

I think you're also forgetting Shappy that they haven't had to buy a first choice keeper since the 90s. De Gea is hugely important for them because he's replacing their club captain and first choice keeper for a decade and a half. Plus I seem to remember that Perez paid a huge amount for Ramos.

If De Gea wants to leave that's fine, but if Madrid think they can steamroll us into taking a miserly offer then f**k them and let De Gea rot on the bench for a year. Anything less than £25m is an absolute no go. We need to set a precedent that if Madrid want to buy our players, they have to pay through the nose like Arsenal did with RVP.

I think we should keep him unless the clubs valuation is met.

Regardless of whether he would be unhappy about another year in Manchester or not, he needs top performances under his belt with the Euro's looming next year.

Just remember, we could always do a deal with Atletico, that would put him back in his home city, if that is what he truly desires.

KingCantona ,

You say he allowed his contract to dwindle down but the club also allowed this situation to develop by not dealing with his contract situation sooner
Also there's no point getting annoyed about player loyalty anymore , that's just the way it is in football now . After all our current captain is a player who tried to get a move out of the club not once but twice

Danny, Perez paid the buy out clause for Ramos and it was the only way to sign him as he had 3/4 years left on his contract if I remember correctly.

I agree that they may be willing to pay more for a Spanish player, but the fact remains he still only has a year left on his contract.

People saying he has treated us poorly, how? He hasn't let his contract run down we have. We could have opened talks about a renewing his contract at any point over the last three years but we left it too late tryinf to save us money. Now it will cost us money as we won't get anywhere near what he's worth.
As for sticking by him when things didn't go to plan when he first joined. Well isn't that what any sensible investor would do with a long term investment. We signed him when he was young so would obviously have to stand by him while he learned. Also its easy to say about the time and effort the club put into him, but what about the time and effort he put into improving himself? We can't take all the kudos for how good he has become, he was born with a natural talent which he has worked on all his life to get where he is now, so we help with that for 4 years. We didn't do it for his benefit but for ours.

He doesn't owe the club anything. And we have no right to deny him a return home. He isn't our property, football isn't slavery.

16 Jun 2015 12:25:50
You're completely right Shappy, he doesn't owe the club anything. But the club doesn't owe him anything either, so if he has his heart set on Madrid, they pay the price or De Gea spends a very unhappy year in Manchester and they have to make do with what they've got.

The fact of the matter is that Madrid need a new keeper far more than we need £13m (especially because a replacement will cost us considerably more than this).

Plus the point about Ramos is that Madrid are willing to pay big bucks for defenders and keepers provided they are high priority. De Gea is high priority for them.

JMB, my post wasn't about the money pal. It was about us needing more than ever to have all our first team business done before we start preparing for the qualifiers. Nothing to do with money or anything else. We need to say 'offer a what we want (whatever that is), by this date or he will be our number one next season' or we could prepare using Valdes instead if it isn't decided. What we can't have is disruption, getting a difficult tie and going out as that will cost us a lot more than losing £15m on DeGea by keeping him for the final season of his contract.

Agree4 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 12:42:03
Bilko, he was offered a contract last summer along with Nani etc. He didn't sign then, he didn't sign when we offered again in January, and he hasn't signed since. It's not the club, it's the player. I heard this earlier in the season and Paddy Crerand mentioned it again last night on MUTV. When should we do renegotiating of contracts? 1 year into the deal?

Agree4 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 13:59:20
Remember Real Madrid have never paid more than 8m for a keeper, so they aren't going to just jump straight in at 30m. Its negotiation, I expect it was us who let slip the bid amount in order push it up by creating a media storm around the situation. Madrid would have known full well that 13m would be rejected but they had to gauge what is the right amount. You always go in low and see the reaction and then go in with a higher bid.

De Gea was offered a new deal first in September and then again in January as the current board have decided to leave offering deals for players until they have between 18 months to 2 years left on their contracts for key players and 12-18 months for players not deemed key players. This was done to save money on wages as they didn't want to give a pay rise to players with 3-4 years left on contract. We should have given him a new deal after Sir Alex retired, but the club wanted to try and save a couple of million on wages. Now we are left in a situation where a club can pretty much bully us in to selling a player below market value.

Or we can cut our nose off to spite our faces and keep him. Thus we have a potentially unhappy player in the dressing room, and uncertainty in our defence. And what would we gain? The moral high ground and a 20m loss.

We can moan about the situation all we want but we can't blame Real Madrid for trying to get a player for the best price possible, and we can't play DDG for wanting to return not just to his home country but his home city. We can blame the board and the directors who should have seen this coming and done something about it to protect the club.

I tend to agree with some of your posts but have to completely disagree on this one. It is perfectly fine for a player to want to leave and go elsewhere but not at the expense of us getting ripped.

I would sit him in reserves if there is any indication of collusion on his part to force a sale. Let's see how he is after sitting his ass on the bench for a year.

One thing it does it establishes for all existing and incoming players that there are guidelines and rules to how you go about things.

BTW have you seen anyone else in Europe of his profile creating a circus like this. Do you think Clubs like Bayern or Madrid themselves would accept something like this. 35 million is what they will pay from what i understand.

A club our size can afford to play hardball mate and that is where you are mistaken.

If Real want to offer 13m for him then i would rather see him leave for free next season . That 13m would not make any difference to a club such as ours. And to all posters saying that it is better to sell him rather than keeping one unhappy player is ridiculous . Yes, he would love to join Madrid but he wouldn't like to leave Man Utd either . His family , gf and other personal issues are one of the major factor in his decision and i have no doubt he would love to stay with us . Who knows he may even do a U turn and sign a new contract . Remember Suarez did same with Liverpool when he wanted out but signed a new contract after Liverpool's super season seeing him go out for much higher fee . We can do same with De Gea . He will surely not be unhappy to play with us and I would rather finish his contract than selling for 13m . Even Cech at chelsea sitting almost every game at bench will bring 11m to their bank account

I think madrid need ddg not just because he's a great keeper but because with everything that's gone on with Casillas, the fans now expect them to sign ddg. He's going to be the keeper for the National side. There really are no alternatives for that exact reason.
Worst case scenario if we don't sell ddg is we'll lose him for free. I don't think he'll be unprofessional with the euros coming up. Also, if he doesn't perform this year here, madrid may not want him next year.

I think the problem is that people think Madrid have us over a barrel, when it's the other way round. Madrid have acknowledged that they need a new keeper and De Gea is their target. Not their top target, but the only player they are targeting. It would be difficult for them to wait until next season because their current keepers just aren't good enough (and I'd love to see the fan outrage if the lack of a quality keeper led to another trophyless season.

Madrid have three options: buy De Gea, or stick with what they have and get him for free next season, or move for another target. The first option is the only thing they're considering at the moment because they think that we will cave and let him go for a pitiful fee. If we stand firm and make them weigh up the alternatives, we will get a far better price for him. Arsenal proved it with RVP, if the player wants me to move to a specific club at a specific time, you can still get a good price even if their contract is running out. Madrid need De Gea this season, if we stand firm they will pay up.

Perfectly put Danny. I would love to keep De Gea for a year for two reasons. Firstly he is the best goalkeeper in the league, and he knows he will have to perform to start for Spain and to join Madrid next summer. After all if he plays poorly, he won't start for Spain and Real won't necessarily want him. Secondly I hate Real as much as the next person, they are a vile club at the best of times, and as much as I still love Ronaldo, I wouldn't mind his club going another trophy-less season because we didn't sell them their first choice keeper. We should stand firm, demand £30m, and set a deadline such as July 31st, or he stays exactly where he is.

I think people are missing the point.

Say you want to leave your current work place for personal reasons. And they say no, you have to stay for another year. How would you react?

Players are people they aren't slaves. We can't treat them like that.

People say we need to send out a message? Okay what message that we will bully players and make them stay when they don't want to so we can make a few extra quid out of them.

Yeah I'm sure that's going to make plenty of players want to join us.

DDG is a very good goalkeeper, arguably the best in the world atm. But he isn't the only goalkeeper who could do a great job for us, and he is entitled to perform his profession where he wants.

People need to remove their emotions from the situation. None of us want to lose him, but he wants to go. And refreshingly not for financial reasons but personal ones. We need to respect that.

Let him go, by all means we should try and get as much as we can but if that is only 18m or even 13m. We need to let him go and move on.

A quick question for Ed001/2/4/7/25 or whomever. I know we don't really chat about finances on here (I had a look at the Rangers page yesterday and all I can say is it is damn good that we don't) but I was just wondering if you could clear something up with a simple yes or no.

Remember a few years back when Carlos Tevez's wage slip while he was at City was leaked, was that genuine or not? I know it's not really related to United or anything on this page but myself and a few mates were chatting about it the other day. If any you lads could clear it up that would be great.

Cheers.
