A move for Shaqiri would make sense right? Especially if he plays well and really impresses us in Basel - we signed Ronaldo after he played against us so we could do the same with Shaqiri.

Quite a large debate on here about the shape of our squad. I think without signings then i'd like it to look something along these lines:

-----------------De Gea------------------

Smalling-----Ferdinand------Vidic------Evra

----------Cleverly------Anderson--------

Nani-----------Rooney---------Young

----------------Chicha/Welbeck-----------

This is what we played in the early part of the season and did very well in doing so. People seem to think Jones will play midfield alot, I can't see this somehow, his passing isn't smooth enough for me. A defensive midfielder in there like Tiote or Javi Garcia would be good in the big games as Cleverly and Anderson like to bomb forwards a bit too much which leaves us exposed against the better sides. A defensive midfielder is a must against someone like Barcelona. So with a signing i'd like to see it go this way...

--------------De Gea-----------------

Smalling --Ferdinand ---Vidic-----Evra

-----------------Tiote-----------------
-----------Cleverly------------------

Nani------------Rooney--------Young

-----------------Chicha---------------

That would be a side with a good balance of flair and solidity.

Would just like to say Evra's performance yesterday was a joy to behold, so glad he is back. I think the worries about LB will be gone for a season or two if he continues in that form.

Next season will be even more exciting, Morrison and Pogba could be ready by then so they will have a bit of play, especially if they go on loan in January. Our squad will be youthful but with experienced players in it also. :) And Bebe will be back to kick all his haters arses! :)

Just when we thought we had seen the back of El Adj Diouf, the last piece of filth Liverfool introduced to the Premier League , they come up with another excuse for a human being in Suarez.

Hey all,

I've been thinking lately about our squad and I would love to see Nani, Young, Rooney, Berba, and Chica on the field at the same time. With running a formation of 4-3-1-2 i think the creativity of Rooney and Clevs, touch of Berbatov, and the speed of Nani, Young, and Chica on the field at the same time, I can't think of a team in the Prem that could stop that

------------De Gea-----------
-Rafa---Jones---Vida---Evra-
-Nani---------Clevs--------Young-
-----------------Rooney---------
-------Berba-------------------
------------------Chica-------

Nice to see UTD's young Goalkeeper Sam Johnson keeping a clean sheet for my hometown boys (Scunthorpe) yesterday in his 7th game for the club.... It's good to see he's getting game time.... HERBIE

I can't believe that liverpool supporters are coming on our site defending that piece of filth Suarez. That shouldn't surprise us as Liverpool is a city that made its money from the slave trade and in the American civil war supported the South whilst Manchester supported the North. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Never mind an investigation by the F A ,is racial abuse not a matter for the cvil courts, with a custodial sentence if found guilty?
Suarez has denied the offence, however this is from someone who also strenuously denied sinking his teeth into the flesh of an oponent when all the world could see the incident on camera and was also caught on camera pulling Rafaells hair in the coresponding fixture last season.
If the alledged offence is proven , then a 12months ban would'nt be too much for such a dispicable act.

I noticed yet again Berbatov was not involved. Why on earth did we not sell him in summer? The only explanation can be that Berbatov would not leave because it meant taking a pay cut.

We are now carrying at least three or four players, namely Berbatov, Kuszczak, Diouf and Gibson and their wages add up.

In all the childish nonsense from the wind up Liverpool fans we seem to have missed that we had to make do with a midfield including 37 year old Giggs plus Fletcher who is no longer the player he was and should not be first choice. The Liverpool game is behind us and we should still be asking why that is still the case.

ed004 de gea is still a long way from filling his potential.the saves he made were average most keepers in the prem could have saved them but just becose of the blunders he's made they make out he was superb

e.g reina,vorm,given.cech.scenzney.freidiel,begovic
would have all saved it.there just a few

craig {Ed004's Note - It is not just this game, but the majority of Pool fans who, I have talked to, on the issue agree with the statement that he had a very good game. Not only this game but look at the game against Stoke and in particular the save from the deflected shot. I doubt many keepers would have saved that}

Is incredibly happy that after all the pre match bulls**t we had to put up with from all the fool fans, saying how improved they are, that suarez is the best player in the league and that we were going to get steam rolled and taught a lesson. Its safe to say everything they said was fabricated and made them look foolish (again). Their strongest team could not break down our considerably weakened team, that Suarez is a horrible human being and a contagiously good diver and that Andy Caroll is being saved for their next european cup tie LOL.

You're forgetting Mark E Smith, a City fan from Salford, and the single greatest musical entity to come out of this city. I'd trade them a billion Mick Hucknall's to get Mark E back on the red side.

Danny Pughnited...............Mr Pughhnited i admire your devotion to Mr Smith you share it with Frank Skinner but to call him the greatest entity to come out of our city is a little ambitious. He needs to knock that massive chip off his shoulder for a start. i have to go with Noel and Liam for my favourite Manchester band the wonderful World of Twist who were a wonder to behold as anyone who was at that famous Ritz gig will agree. As for the most important person in Manchester's musical history then that must go to a United supporter from Salford Mr Anthony H Wilson. The sooner we have a statue to the great man the better.RAINFISHTROMBONE

Admittidly liverpool were the better side but were still not good enough.

Once we have Cleverly and Anderson back in midfield i think Liverpool would struggle due to our high tempo and quick passing which has been missed since Cleverly has been injured.

I looked at our team yesterday and thought that Fergie was going for a draw so i think he will be happy as we need to win in the CL on tues and beat Man City on Sunday.

It would have been nice to beat Liverpool but a point away at Anfield is good, in fact Liverpool needed the 3 points more than we needed them.

Though Rio had a great game so it will be good to get alongside Vidic which will only make us stronger.

DE Gea great display in goal hope people will now get off his back.

Well where do I start? I was shocked when I saw the line-up yesterday dinnertime, but still had faith in the team to at least come away with a draw. Liverpool played their strongest possible line-up and we left many first teamers out and they failed to get the three points that their fans were expecting. They were always going to make chances being the home side, it's the same when we play WBA & Fulham away, mid-table teams will always create chances when they are playing at home. Giggs should be made to go in goal in the next training session and all of the players should pelt the ball at him. I cannot stand it when players swerve a ball, being afraid of a very lite bag of air is low. The whole point about standing in a wall is to block the ball. But after a tremendous career I suppose we can forgive him for it. Adam went down because he couldn't drag his fat, lazy ass any further. He knew Liverpool's only way of scoring was from a free-kick. Quite surprising that Liverpool struggled to penetrate a Jonny Evans defense. As the Liverpool fans have been saying for the last few months, Rio is passed it, De Gea is dodgy, Evans & Evra are cr@p, Suarez is god, well he couldn't score against them could he?

But if I am honest I am very happy to be where we are currently, okay we may be 2nd, but we have played "on paper" seven tough games out of eight. If SAF was offered 20 points at this stage of the season, he would have taken it. No question about that. He may have even taken 15 points. We have played the likes of Stoke, Liverpool, Bolton & WBA away, Chelsea, Spurs & Arsenal. Chelsea are yet to play Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool. City are yet to play Arsenal & Chelsea. So it's all to play for lads. I was impressed with Evra's performance yesterday. Cannot wait to see Vidic return, he is a great player and will sort our defense out. Glad to see Jones get a run out in midfield, I did say he will be used their in certain games, especially when Vidic and Rio are fit. So what is our typical best line-up? I think Jones, Cleverley & Rooney are a great midfield triangle. All English so it's a great spine. The beauty of this team is when we are defending corners or free-kicks, we have four CB's on the field.

It makes me laugh all these liverpool supporters telling us how lucky we were and we ar not as good as we think.

What you fools need to understand is you are right the current United team is nowhere as good as previous teams. But Liverpool still didn't beat an under strenth United team that isn't playing at their best on your home ground(which gives you a huge advantage)so how poor is your beloved Liverpool.

As i have said in previous posts United will still finish higher than Liverpool come the end of the season,so winds your necks in telling us how poor we are and we are in decline because we are still a better team than Liverpool END OF! Marky Mark

Isn't it funny how music has mirrored football. you had you're moments of glory with the Beatles and the Bunnymen but that is all a long way in the past. Joy Division New Order, The Smiths, Happy Mondays, World of Twist, Stone Roses, Oasis, Courteeners. We just go from strength to strength. Apart from Oasis and Johnny Marr all reds. No doubt Herbie will come on and tell us how great Frankie goes to Hollywood were. Manchester is the centre of the world for football and Music and all you scousers can read and weep. Oh and by the way who did the Beatles sing about? I will tell you. Matt Busby.....RAINFISHTROMBONE

Good morning Guys
I thought a draw was probably a fair result yesterday I didn't think either team deserved to lose really.
I was wondering all those people that were doubting David de Gea recently are they holding their heads in shame this morning.Sure he has made some mistakes and will do again at some point in his career
but can anyone argue that he has the potential to be a world class goalkeeper.I think people forget he is only 20.He was the main reason we left with a point yesterday.

"No name you are an ignorant coward, at least RFT leaves a name grow some.... HERBIE"

Sorry Herbie

My "name"

Sir Alex x

You said "may the best team win" on Friday to your mates on the Liverpool site, and you are supposidly a United supporter?

So, I will challenge you to shout that out on the Stretford End next Sunday v City, "MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!". Lets see if you are the real coward.

Ask any supporter of a great rivalry whether they would say, like you, "may the best team win" or perhaps a "tally ho" or "chucks away chaps" or "lets have some pims after" before a Celtic v Rangers, Madrid v Barca, Roma v Lazio, City v United or any other match.

Every supporter, especially involved in a great rivalry couldn't care less if their team plays well or not as long as they win.

If you are a United supporter, and I hope not, you are not a species I am aware of!

Hope I haven't been too much of a coward for you.

Sir Alex x
