I was just thinking that with all the young midfield talent coming through who would be picked. Out of cleverley pogba morrison and tunnicliffe, I would prefer pogba and morrison in a 4 4 2 or pogba morrison and tunnicliffe in a 4 3 3. what do you think?

All valid points about glazers they dont appear to be interested except cl final thats about. I know they have excuses ie man utd fans protests but what can they expect after putting club into so much debt. They should Pay off debts wirh floatation and give fergie 100 mill next summer i no fifas new rules come into play by then. Also after sir bobby saying carrington could be renamed would anyone like to hazard a guess to how much we could get from naming rights for carrington ? Syd , eds etc and anyone else

I am very confident city will not finish in 1st or 2nd this year their biggest flaw is Mancini now he says he wants to encourage city to play like united but the problem is they're not united... Still see united,Chelsea, city,Liverpool anybody else have a view

Eds, Sydney, TK, RFT and anyone else who is interested,

I'd like to start a little debate if I may. I personally feel that the Glazers have run this club very well. They have developed us as a business, shown by the latest figures and by the fact that we are the most expensive sports franchise in the world. However, I will admit the borrowed money they used to buy us has hampered our transfer strategy slightly, but not too much, look at the summer just gone for example. But hopefully the flotation will help to pay off most of our debt, and if this is the case and we become almost debt-free, I think we would be wrong to encourage the sale of our club, as the Glazers have been good at running this club. Remember, money doesn't always buy a good financial structure within the club. Take a look at Chelsea, who when Abramovich eventually leaves them, wont be able to fend for themselves. However, with the structure implemented by the Glazers here, should they leave we would be left on a sound footing.

That is my opinion. I know many will disagree, but I look forward to your reponses and hope we can have a constructive debate!

Come on guys no body on this site would love to see those money sucking leaches the Glazers gone more than me. But even I can see that a story about potential buy outs from the Quatari royal family is only going to boost the sale of shares. It is also good for the Publicity Quatar is trying to get at the moment and it is free publicity so they won't complain. The Glazers always let a little story like this slip out when they want to push the value of the club up. Sorry you don't fool me Uncle Malc. When the glorious day does come and you are ousted, it will just happen and then we will find out about it. Don't believe the Hype! RAINFISHTROMBONE

Good morning my fellow Reds
Its my birthday today and I have to say that the perfect present I hope to get is 3 points on Sunday.I was hoping to get a ticket for the game but alas sky sports and Red Nev will have to do.
Normally I'm fairly pessimistic about games with Chelsea because they always seem to get the run of the ball when it comes to big decisions but I have to say as a result of our start I really feel confident and I can see a 3-1 win.I feel with the pace and movement we have going forward we can really stretch the likes of Terry and Alex. The early news is that Drogba is struggling to make it and I think thats good for us.Still I'm going to enjoy today but hopefully I'll enjoy Sunday even more.

Is it fair to say that 'if' we were to win against Chelsea on Sunday, the premier league would then be a two horse race between us and City thereon in. I know it's too early in the season but surely it would severely dent their title ambitions. Just a view.

Does anyone else love the Keeper war we have going on right now? I love the competition we have going between De Gea and Lindegaard. I personally think that Anders is a better keeper at the moment because he's older and has more confidence and experience. I would play him in the league weekly and play De Gea in cup competitions, just because he's younger and needs time to develop. Who do you think Fergie is gonna play against Chelski?

Now with the Chelsea game apon us here is my views on team selection. I apoligise now as this will go on abit. lol

First before we choose our players and tactics we need to look at the opposition. Chelsea have a solid back four and normally play with a three man midfield with three up top. The three up top will be any three of Drogba, Torres, Anelka, Sturridge, Mata or Malouda. Now the important thing to recognise here is that with exception of Malouda none are wingers so will prefer to cut in rather than go on the outside and cross, so it will be vital that our full backs push them wide forcing them to cross rather than cutting inside and either shooting or slidding a pass through. There midfield three will be industirous rather than creative as other than Lampard they don't have any attacking midfielders, so it's important to go with players who can match thier work rate and push them back by being a threat going forward. There back four normally like to hold a high line thus forcing the play further up the pitch which is benifical for them as they have older players who will tire quickly if forced to run around the whole pitch so for this reason i feel it's important to have a forward who will push the defence back thus creating space between their midfield and defence and spreading them making them tire quicker.

So now we know what their strengths are we know how best to tackle them. I would go with a line up like this:

DDG

Fabio Ferdinand Smalling Evra

Nani Jones Anderson Young

Rooney

Hernandez

I've gone for pace at full back as this is vital in being able to push their wide forward players out to the touch line which isn't where they wanna be, this will isolate their other forward players making them less effective. Smalling and Ferdinand will be strong enough in the centre to deal with who ever plays there and have the height to deal with all crosses.

With Hernandez up top it'll force back their back line creating space for Rooney in the position he favours, this will also mean one of their midfield three will likely drop deep to pick him up thus solving the potential problem of us being out numbered in the centre of midfield. Jones and Anderson will be able to match their industry and strength in midfield while also offering an attacking threat. With the movement of Nani Rooney Young and Hernandez will be too much for an aging yet still dangerous side. This formation and personel offers soloutions to their play and a real threat to them aswell.

Let me know what you think, and sorry for the essay.
Thanks for reading.
