as a man utd fan i hate to say this but i cant see us signing clyne, kagawa or hazard. clyne looks set for newcastle, kagawa seems to be playing games and hazard will go were the money is ( Man S****Y). deep down hope this is not the case. there are still players of great calibre out there and available such as dembele, rodrigues, strootman, krasic to name a few.

I don't get people saying OGS should turn down the Villa job to get more experience with Molde.

The only thing going for Molde is the Champions League which is the main reason people are giving for him to saty there to get Champions League experience. But their not actually in the Champions League their only in the qualifying rounds. Chances are they'll end up getting some big time like Udinese or Marseill or whatever and knocked out so it a bit pointless staying to play in a couple of games when he could be here managing in the League and getting valuable experience of being in charge of a bigger club which could end up helping him into the United job in 2-3 years time.

Hey guys, there are a lot of people saying we haven't got the funds for players like Hazrad, but didn't United announce that we will compete with city on salary? Free to reply!

We all seen everytime there's a reported Utd interest in a player then the following day its always City now want them aswell.Well I'm not sure when the Financial fair play rules kick in but this should suit Utd over City with our turnover.So City will have to finally more carefull with what they spend,so think it would be funny if when the time comes everytime City after a player Utd also make an interest even if not.jus to push the fee up by that extra few million!lol

I firmly believe that manchester united will sign eden hazard and he will be our new #7 , I also think the deal has been agreed a long time ago just waiting for the french season to finish. Tbh owen was just occupying that jersey until someone good enough was bought and this transfer window will be one of our best ever just wait and see !!

There are a lot of messages being put up here either wanting everybody in now, then if they dont sign then they are wasting time, money grabbers etc.... People, for your own sanity just chill out a little. As in all succesful businesses a shortlist will have been drawn up of recruits that could improve the side months ago. It would make a lot of sense to get the deals done before the Euro's and I feel that the majority of deals will be concluded before then as well. Lets be realistic, if we got 5 signings in the key areas that would be great. My feeling is (as funds will allow) .....Snjeider, Kagawa, Strootman, Debuchy, and a striker! I would take the Drog myself who would absolutely bang them in with the amo coming in from Toni and a left sided player!! I do get the feeling that Nani may be sold in order for us to bring 2 bodies! Anyhow, lets stay patient and see how we go!! A lot will be done before the Euros...on that you can be sure!!

With reports circulating we could have an amazing summer, according to numerous sources offering numerous bits of information we have nearly signed these players already:

- Kevin Strootman £12 million
- Edin Hazard £35 million
- Shinji Kagawa £7 million
- Nathaniel Clyne NOMINAL

That could be four signing that we have in the bag maybe in the next couple of weeks? They are the areas that i think are of most pressing concern, but we would have until August 31st to see who we off load and see if we want to make any other tweaks. For me its important to have the major signing with the squad for the preseason tour (providing they aren't involved with the Euros) so that they can bond with the rest of the lads.

As for outs, well we've already confirmed the departure of De Laet, James, Owen, Kuscazak will follow, then the likes of King, Wooton, Brown and Berbatov will probably leave. Fabio amongst others will go out on loan and Amos might be replaced by Johnstone as 3rd choice keeper.

It looks as though a lot of work is being done behind the scenes (based on speculation). If we don't come out with what we want i don't think that it will be through lack of trying though, players may go elsewhere in search of more cash. Other than those 4 that i mentioned, perhaps the only other addition would be a center back, but that would be a luxury as well as signing Willems who, along with Fabio, Fryers or Blackett will secure the left back position for many years to come.

RedDevil19 {Ed004's Note - I was discussing what I thought was going on behind the scenes last night with the other Ed's... Personally I feel due to the players we are looking at, the way we started last season and the way we ended this season we will opt for a new set of tactics and formation for the new season. Firstly I will start of with how we ended the season playing a 4-5-1 against Sunderland and I think it was the commentator who stated how the Sunderland players couldn't cope with the United players movement. If the commentators are saying that with the likes of Scholes and Giggs on the park the formation must have been working... Now if you look at the beginning of the season the attacking football we played was a joy to watch and beat many top teams, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and even barcelona in a friendly. Granted it was a weakened side. Now the main problem with it was that we were too open in midfield... Now Fergie has praised Carrick highly which leads me to think he will be our main man in CM next year and it will be his role to be the 'quarter back' figure imo. I think the potential signings we keep hearing about aren't a coincidence. I think Fergie is looking at Kagawa and Hazard because both would fit into this fluid system that Fergie tried to implement with Anderson and Cleverley but it didnt work due to injury. For that reason I can see us having a midfield and attack of, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa, Nani, Hazard and Rooney. Also I know I have been slightly controversial in leaving Valencia out but I feel with wingers like Nani and Hazard who can interchange and even swap with the players in midfield it will add a lot more to this fluid style of play. Obviously Valencia would be brought on most games and started in a lot of games... Now that is what I think we will see next season, I am still holding out for one more, maybe two midfielders such as Martinez and Ozil as I feel a midfield of Martinez, Ozil and Kagawa, with back ups in Cleverley, Scholes, Carrick and Pogba would be the second best in the world and due to the age of it, wouldn't need looked at for years to come but I can not see the money being available for those purchases.}

people seem to be gettin a bit over-exited regarding eden hazard n whether he will sign for us or the blueseats.
I agree he would be a good signing but if the lad decides to go over the road then so be it we move on.
kagawa would be just as good a signing if not better in my opinion as the huge difference in the cost would give us better options in strengthening other areas not to mention the fact the lad is class in his own right.
a strong,commanding cm is a must imo as teams bullied us in midfield for most of last season and once vidic got injured we struggled defensively with high balls so tht needs addressing too
for me strootman,subotic,kagawa and a lb would represent a good summer,all quality,young players with experience.
sorry for the long post

Just a thought guys. We can all see how todays footballers (a la Hazard probably) are attracted to City because of their wages. Just imagine you are a footballer yourself. At the end of the day, we are still giving out wages of between 100-150 grand A WEEK for top players. HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED? I wouldnt know how to spend that much money?! I would be happy with 20 grand a week ffs!
SqueakyBum {Ed004's Note - Look at it this way... Hazard has no allegiances to either Manchester club and the way he is looking at it, Man Cit have the better squad, recently did the double over Man Utd and will pay him more wages. You can see why he would join them over us. Also 10k a week is a lot of money. It is 500K every year.}

how much do you think vidal would cost? Its my first time posting and i think kagawa, vidal, tiote or de jong would be a great addition. As a 4-2-3-1. Play kagawa behind rooney. Vidal can sit and play the scholes role like what modric is doing at spurs. And this lad can actualy tackle to unlike modric and is younger. De jong or tiote are badly needed only to that is near a roy keane figure and we need that bit of steel in midfield.

just a thought.....in recent times man city have delt a few low blows just to get one over on utd i.e the tevez poster in the city centre the hargreaves signing and the tevez signing... i might be reading into this too much but it wouldnt suprise me if city have deliberately started the roumours that hazard is likely to sign for utd just so we get our hopes up then when he dosent we will all be gutted and if/when he signs for them it will give the impression that they have more pulling power when it comes to new signings and they are a bigger/better club (which anyone with brains knows isnt true)..like i said just a thought but could be true? what do you lot reckon? - Rouge Diablo

Even though we all dislike the Glazers you have to admit they are so clever ....... because they bought the club in 2005 valuing the club at around 800 million and they refinanced putting us in 700million pound debt but then took out bond issues of around 500 million which has a smaller interest and they paid off most of the international banks with it and they have reduced the debt to around 400million now well in 5 or 6 years that debt could be gone due to flotation or just pure turnover and the day our club goes debt free we become the most powerful financial club in the world as we generate profit and will have no debt to pay off and then the glazers will have gone from a 800million pound investment to over a 2billion pound investment which is very smart and is why they are mega rich and i am not so the day we go debt free the glazers and man united fans will be happy

Some people seem to be missing the point our profit may be down due to early cup exits but that's ok that's just football .
The real issue is that yet more money has been taken out of the club this time 71 mill taken out of Manchester united to pay the GLAZER debt , they may as well be taken this money and putting it in to there bank account

Gill has always said that Glazers understand that you have to be successful on the pitch to be successful off it and the two go hand in hand. I thought the debt is actually under 400 million now around 370, with the proposed 20% share offer that would clear that debt leaving the income to re-invest and keep it going.

I HOPE !

there is no chance of hazard signing for 45million,fergie would never blow that on a player no matter how good he is.71million lost in the last year,gearing up to be a very disappointing summer,hope im wrong.quinner99

Because of the magic of fergie the glazer effect hasn't been highlighted so much.Now as no trophies this season the figures are being highlighted.which the Glazers hate people to see&leave Gill to try&cover! All can say we lost league jus on goal diff but in truth time is just catching up with us,our squads have got weaker over time&our football is nowhere near what it was. No real investment from glazers jus balanced books on ins/outs. The 50m last summer in todays football can be made look nothing to other big clubs&that aint on World class players brought in.that's trying to buy young players who Utd hope could reach that level. So 71m gone on debt jus in 9 months&50m on players! Jus think No glazers&the 71m+50 transfer fund mayb we could start getting the real players we need!

But I digress, FSG dropped some serious cheese in their first foray in the transfer market. Didn't pan out at all, but I think all will agree that United do not look likely to spend 100m+ anytime soon. For now we may not need to because of savvy management, fine scouting, and a solid core of players that understand the United way, but Sir Alex simply cannot go on forever and when that time comes, I truly, sadly, believe that we will begin to see the true horror of the Glazer sh!t show. We shall see . . .

They are reducing the debt arent they they are reinvesting in the squad arent they ..... what do you want them to do just go out and spend 300million on players
-----------------------
Er, no. Manchester United are reducing the debt. Manchester United have invested in the squad. The Glazers haven't put a cent of their money in our club. Educate yourself before commenting.

Alright, let's cut right to the chase. FSG nailed it when they sacked Kenny and, frankly, it was a decision that more sentimental ownership might have failed to make given the man's service to the club. Now we can all chuckle at the Liverbirds and the inevitable 'wait until next season' chorus that seems to have become their anthem, but - living in American and seeing first-hand the trajectories of both FSG and the Glazers - ownership-wise, Liverpool are in a vastly better situation. The Red Sox were Liverpool x 20. Storied history, tortured fan base (jerks, nonetheless), etc - the critical difference: no titles (then again, they only give out one each year as opposed to the numerous silverware out there in football for enterprising teams). FSG did the impossible and overturned what had been, after nearly a century, something that folks really had come to consider as a curse. They did it smart and in very shrew fashion, as well (though not by employing the moneyball model some suggest. It just didn't happen. They still spent a TON of money relative to the rest of the league. Moreover, this system doesn't apply to football). Cut to the Glazers, nouveau- riche, junk-property leprechaun impersonators who purchased one of the worst franchises (Tampa Bay Bucaneers) in all of sports and kept it there. Now, one can talk about the Super Bowl back at the turn of the millenium, but they had nothing to do with the team's success as American football has a salary cap, professional draft, and Tampa, individually, had a brilliant coaching staff. Moreover, they quickly reverted back into a laughingstock as soon as key players got older/wanted more money/etc. And you know what, in American Football, that is good ownership. It's a small market, they won a Super Bowl (extremely difficult to achieve), and the NFL, in general, makes a boatload of money. They were successful for a very short time in spite of the Glazers.

It is a horrendous bit of luck that they assumed control of our beloved club. Apparently, the numbers added up, so all was fair and good. Who would have known in England what a bunch of clowns these folks were.

Of course, the extreme end of the spectrum is the Mansour/Ambramovich model that probably began with some guys sitting in a room watching City stink it up five years ago and betting that their absurd fortunes could make anything happen. More of a curiosity a la 'Trading Places' with Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy than a truly heartfelt gesture. Sickening stuff, really.

But I digress, FSG dropped some serious cheese in their first foray in the transfer market. Didn't pan out at all, but I think all will agree that United do not look likely to spend 100m+ anytime soon. For now we may not need to because of savvy management, fine scouting, and a solid core of players that understand the United way, but Sir Alex simply cannot go on forever and when that time comes, I truly, sadly, believe that we will begin to see the true horror of the Glazer sh!t show. Hey Ed when the Glazers bought us they refinanced had the debt was around 720million right and now its around 450million so give it a few years or a flotation when the debt has gone we will be ridiculously profitable as we generate profit every year which would then put us back at the top am i right or have i got it wrong? {Ed001's Note - you are right, unless they sell to someone who does the same as they did of course.}

seriously all the hazard rumours why would his manger make such an obvious point in where he is going when hazard has said he isnt saying till monday,

would love him to come united but theres not many footballers out there these days that arent interested in money so i can see him going to city.

united to get kagawa + a cm + a striker would do me fine add that to the youngsters coming through we would have a great squad for next season.

plus hopfully pogba stays aswell!.
