Fergies team talk for Sunday.....

Ok lads first thing first, its not been a good week, Liverpool already in ANOTHER Cup Final, jammy gits. Chelsea beating that team that made us look fools lasy year at Wembley....can it get any worse ?

If we dont win the league this will be one of our worst years in the last 10 years ! We could end up with NOWT, ZILCH, NOTHING, DIDLY SQUAT....do you understand ?

Young Ive already spoken with the ref but have you got your ballet shoes ready ? and this time try not to roll over too many times when no-one tackles you....but most important DO IT IN THE PENALTY BOX numpty....especially when no-one tackles you.

Rooney stop combing your hair(s), concentrate and stop bl***** crying just 'cos Liverpool beat your bluenosed team at Wembley...oh and would you mind at least pretending that you want to score against them on Sunday ?

Scholesey PLEASE dont use your legs before Sunday and stay in bed where you will be safe, weve gotta have you fit or were out of it, I just pray no-one tackles you or forces you to run.

Giggsy, please dont go near a bed.

Degea stop putting olive oil on your gloves, I know it smells nice but leather gloves dont need it, especially yours.

Now Im warning the lot of you, if you dont beat Everton and I end up getting a phone call from Dalglish immediately after the match, Im gonna be well peed off and could end up kicking shoes all over the place.

What the f*** do you mean I do anyway ?

Before I forget, its Howard Webbs sons Christening on the same day and theres a little card I need you all to sign for his son, Alex.

Rooney stop looking so puzzled, just put an X..... he will understand

Was I the only person who wanted us to sign Hazard and Cavani last summer? There is of coarse a chance of signing Hazard but both of their values have dramatically increased this time round and I personally would love them to be here. I know for a fact I wasn't the only man who wanted Martinez here last summer and we could have gotten him for far less also.

Anway, I was wondering who people would like us to idealy realistically sign if that makes sence and what people who have our starting 11 as.

I would go for signing Hazard, Martinez, Clyne, Kovacic, and maybe a ST and a LB although I really can't see us signing Cissocko, maybe Oviedo though.

__________Rooney

Of coarse Young and Nani could play behind Rooney with Hazard on the wing which would be a great bonus.

I just read this post lfc mate, so sorry for the late response. But as usual, you are absolutely on the money.

This is exactly like Question Time mate and we are the panel. So I think we should ask our audience, have they any questions?

1st question is to the man/baffoon in the 3rd row. With the 1994 Stone Roses t-shirt on (I AM KLOOT/RFT).

Yes you sir, have you a question for our panel?

So I've been thinking about the Everton and City games. I believe that both games, we should play the same line up, with maybe one or 2 changes. If we win both, we win the league, and at city. So what should that team be?

Now, I think that we should play a 3 in midfield and that Cleverley has shown good form when he has come on, so him as an attacking midfielder behind Rooney. Back 5 pick themselves. The wings are the contentious part. For Everton I think we should play Nani and Valencia, Valencia will tear Baines to pieces with pace, whilst also giving Rafael support. Nani should destroy Hibbert or Neville. Now here's the real decision, I think Nani should play on the right against city, with Young on the left.

Bare with me, Valencia will pretty much be matched for pace by Clichy and doesn't have the same variety to his game as Nani does. We all know that Nani is more than capable of a moment of genius that wins matches, I think this will be important against the defence that city have. So for the 2 games.

_________De Gea_________
Rafael_Evans_Ferdinand_Evra
_____Carrick_Scholes______
___Nani_Cleverley_Young___
_________Rooney_________

Switching Valencia for Nani and Nani for Young against Everton. If we play Giggs in either match, it'll be a massive struggle, one better off avoiding, he can wait until the last 2 games. Anyone got any opinions on how we should approach these?

It must be said, the Bilbao performances against us were a one off, they were clearly so up for it and wanted it more than us. Thats why we lost, not because they are better. They look abject tonight and have not impressed in a number of games. Nevertheless, i think that Martinez, Llorente and Muniain could make it here, or perhaps De Marcos but i'm not as impressed with him.

Capel has impressed for Lisbon, but i'm not going to get hung up on him. The only player that i'm bothered about from Lisbon is Wolfswinkel who has also looked quite average. All in all i am quite dissapointed with the showing from some of our 'targets' so far.

In response to an earlier thread, posted by Percy - if you want to know what turns people away from Sydney! Please spot the contradiction in this sentence...

"That's right mate they are only opinions, that is why I find it strange when people get touchy when I say something about a player they like. I like Evans and I like Evra, but the facts remain that Evra has been a shadow of his former self for more than two years now and Evans although been magnificent for most of this season was very poor the season before."

If you can't see it then you have no reason to be bothered by Sydney! I have no issue with him, but as Moon said, it's easy to see why some people might.

We spent 18m on Anderson from Porto
He's turned out to be an overweight fast driving/crashing ladies man. Every season I as many other fans say, "this will be his year". I think if he does go on loan to Benfica we won't see him again. Shame.

This is why Ganso or Lucas Da Silva will not be purchased.
Spurs turned down 40m for Modric & B.D turned down 30m for Goëtz so we won't get them.

Eriksen is ready to move & dreams of Spain.

Hazard has been priced at 32m would be our Top buy ala Rio, Roo & Berb. Think we would get that return when he fancies Spain in 4/5yrs. Also will replace Nani maybe 25m next summer. It seems he is getting itchy feet for sunny climates.

IN: Hazard 32m, Lass Diarra 17m, Clyne 3m, Willems 3m Total 55m

PROMOTE: Pogba, Petrucci, Keane Twins, Thorpe.

LOAN: Amos (call back), Fabio (last chance) McGinty, Anderson (last chance) Tunnicliffe, Norwood, Brady, King, Macheda (last chance).

OUT: Kusz 1m, DeLaet 1.5m, Wootton, Vermijl, Fryers (all 1m, Bébé (loan then 2m) Berbatov 6m.
Total 11.5m = wages for new buys.

Owen, Park, Scholes, Giggs will be gone end of May 2013.

W.Keane, Petrucci, Pogba first team squad Aug 2013.

Apologies guys, i know I've been severely rude, narrow minded, ill mannered and more importantly incorrect about the comments i have made about the Incredible, one off, astounding, unconceivable and magnificent Manchester United. I only vent these issues out of jealousy because of how clear it is the Liverpool are going nowhere and FAST! I just sincerely wish i was born into a Manchester united supporting house hold. Don't hold it against me hold it against my parents, they failed me! I want to be the first to congratulate you upon the time you grasp hold of your 20th title, something Liverpool will never ever achieve.

No GAGUS mate, Scholes didn't dive. He saved the ball of the line, with his hand. And was sent off.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96
-----------------------
Yeah I thought you meant a dive, but I remember that now. He did handle on the line, but did he condone what he did? Did he say he was happy he did it? Suarez said he would do it again.

And as for AnfieldUSA, Berbatov and Nani have dived before, and I hate seeing that at United. But they haven't cheated the way Young has the past while.

What would people think of a summer move for real madrids Angel Di Maria. He is a wonderful play. Extremely good and he is a united fan. I think it was ed 2 that stated he was a target for man citY awhile back. However we all want a left footed winger or quite a few of us do and Di Maria has a fantastic delivery with his left foot. He has 7 goals and 15 assists in 25 or so games so he is productive. We will have to get him stronger and teach him to stop going down as easily but some of his assists this year have been brilliant. Would anyone else like to see him here. I personally rate him higher than gaitan.

We allegidly bid for Nastasic in January, any ideas who he is? Any good? Is there any truth in it? If he turns up to be as good as Vidic then i certainly would not say no. Have Smalling, Jones, Evans and Nastasic as for young, but excellent CB's. Sounds alright.

Just saw today that Muniain is meant to be being tracked by Juventus. I'm sure others are tracking him as well, i really hope we go for this guy. He is an excellent player, and has a heck of a lot of potential. I really hope we don't let him slip through the net or him to choose somewhere else like Ozil did.

-- I initially wrote this in reply to a post about diving, however it was so long and I only ever seem to post in reply to people so I thought I would just make this it's own thread --

___________________________________

I think it is interesting that you say it has become part of the game. I agree with this sentiment but I do not necessarily see it as such a bad thing. I don't really want to go down the route of the goal-line technology argument - "it's creates more drama, a talking point!" - but it is a fair argument.

The game grows each year. Like many other sports, football is organic and develops with passing traits, popular tactics and different characters.

For example, look at Hollywood in the last ten years. It seems that comic book film adaptations will never end, and it almost feels like it has been going on for ever - but you know at some point the waters will change again and a new fashion will come in, or a new type of technology will change the way films are made and Hollywood will move on. Hollywood (like FIFA) are very stubborn concerning change, and like to keep things in the dark as long as possible. However, they do not control everything and inevitably change occurs.

I quite enjoy the aspect of diving in the game. I see it as another skill almost, one perhaps to be used sparingly but then you could say the same about being the last defender and bringing down an attacker who is getting away from you, drawing a red card. You don't necessarily want to see these things happening, but they are a part of the game and will continue to be.

Think about how much goal-line technology will change the game. In my opinion, as soon as FIFA submit to this inevitability, a domino effect will come into play. They will be unable to stop many different type of technology entering football - but I am excited to see what football will become.

On another note, basketball has gone down a similar route in the past couple of decades. As the seeming importance of the games increases, there was more pressure on the referees to make contact foul calls. A general social commentary of the game these days would probably go something like "It's not the same as it used to be, if you even touch another player - a foul is called". Sounds eerily similar no? But for all this change I think people are missing the fact that though it may not be the same as when you were younger, it is still basketball - if you do not keep up you will fall out. It is still a great sport, and people and players adapt to it.

In my opinion this ever changing aspect of sport is what makes it so timeless and loveable. It almost feels like a living thing.

I'm sorry this was very long..

Joe {Ed003's Note - Goal line technology is expected to be rubberstamped in late June early July,whether that is enough time for it to be implimented for the next season I dont know,but you enjoy diving??? }

You all need to chill out on the diving topic, it happens, it should'nt but it does. Its not Saurez or Drogba's or even Youngs fault, its the FA's fault for employing idiots to ref games and not following rugby's example (replys, technology, etc). Stop the petty arguments about your team's worse than my team for diving, there all just as bad because there allowed to get away with it.... Anyways, lets look forward to what really matters, winning number 20 then 21. United is our religion, lets focus on supporting them and waiting for that special feeling at the end of the season.... You're a fool if you think that no player would do what Luis did, against Ghana mate. Ask yourself, IF you ever got to a CL semi again. Would you still condemn it, if Shrek did it in the last minute to get you through?

I would have no quams with any LFC player if they did this. It's called taking one for the team and all that. Luis got sent off and suspended. If Ghana would have scored the penalty. We wouldn't be having this conversation mate.

I think you need to realise that Suarez is the biggest C**t in the league. This is a league with Tevez, Balotelli and Terry! That's some going. And by the way, if Rooney ever did that I don't think I would want him to play for us again.

I'd like to set out my Premier League team (of 20 yrs) if I may

I know I'm a bit slow with this but have wanted to think about it carefully and try my best to keep impartial. My thinking is that it should be assessed using a ratio of overall quality of player-to-impact on the PL(including longevity)-to-success. These are the 3 most important factors IMO. Clearly many of the players will come from United due to their dominance over the 20 years but I'll try to be impartial

So bearing that in mind let's go....

GK - clearly Schmeichel for me; Seaman (less successful, marginally less star quality) and VDV (shorter period) deserve mentions
RB - clearly Gary Neville here for me; not many top quality RB's to talk about who dominated the PL for any period of time
CB's - Rio, Vidic, Stam, Terry, Adams and Campbell all deserve a mention; I'd have to go for Rio and Terry though I think based on level of success and longevity, although it's hard to leave Vidic out as he has been of the highest quality at his peak
LB - REALLY hard choice here for me but it's clearly between Irwin and Cole; I'm going to plump for Cole purely because I think he was probably the best in his position in the world for a good couple of years whereas I admired Irwin more for being so competent in every area
RW - Beckham would get it for longevity but I just have to go for Ronaldo here as he is probably the best the PL has ever seen, Ljunberg deserves an outside mention
DM - another very difficult choice here between Keano and Viera but I'd plump for Keane for longevity and because he was the heartbeat of the most successful PL team for many years. If Essien hadn't gotten such bad injuries he may have been an outside bet (but he did)
CM - Scholes just about get's this positon amongst much competition IMO he has by far the most PL success and is our league's version of Xavi at Barca (integral to his team). Gerrard would be a close 2nd despite the lack of a PL title, Lampard (awesome stats) and Fabregas (not around long enough) deserve a mention
LW - Giggs hands down for me; Pires, Overmars and Ginola deserve metions for the entertainment they each provided
ST's - I've thought much about this department and have changed my mind a few times. I did have Cantona in here as he was so iconic and paved the way for foreign flair players in the PL. He was also my favourite player growing up (and why I always had to play no. 7 for my football team, with my collar turned up, lol). However, he didnt play all that many PL games and I feel he has been eclipsed in terms of goals and what he brought to the league, only by Shearer (pure goal machine) and Henry (dominated for years with his flair and finishing). Other mentions need to go to Van Nistlerooy, Drogba, Zola, Fowler and more recently Rooney (too soon)

Sorry for rambling but that is my thinking, so here is my team:

___________Schmeichel__________
Neville______Rio____Terry_____Cole
Ronaldo____Keane__Scholes___Giggs
_________Shearer__Henry_________

So now, you feel that if you were in the Champions League semi, and cheated to get through, won the final, you would be okay with it? No, I personally would be disgusted if a United player did that. I have taken a dislike for Young after what he did against QPR and Villa, and frankly, I don't want that kind of player at United.
