Pirlo is top quality. Great signing for Juve last season. But that was because he was familiar with the club and the league. Perhaps now it's too late for him to make a big change like coming to England.

M.D.

Agree1 Disagree0

Pirlo now? He is about the same age as Scholes isnt he and similar player. I would say Pirlo outside of Italy is one of the most under rated play makers of the last 15 years. Can only personally name less better ones than I have fingers on one hand. A superb player but why an earth would you want to sign a Scholes replacement that is the same age as him?

I am wondering if the Ed's are taking a new stance towards those irritating little insects I think they are called Liverpool supporters but they seemed to have been cleared off this site. I also notice that any posts i make towards them which are normally very offensive are edited. Still if you keep up the good work and keep them off this site I will not bother you with offensive posts about them......I AM KLOOT {Ed007's Note - Abusive posts from anyone are deleted mate, or they should be.}

Milner needs to come off. He's a hard worker and is prone to be in a decent ball from time to time but he has offered nothing going forward for England in this championship.

What is it with all this sell Nani business? 2010-11 season Nani created more goals than any other player in the premiership, 18 assists. 2011/12 he has 8 goals and 12 assists from 27 games compared to

Silva 6 goals 15 assists 33 games
Nasri 5 & 8 from 28 games
Bale 9 & 12 from 33 games
Mata 6 & 14 from 33 games

Are Nani's stats that bad that we need to sell him? After having a somewhat inconsistent season he's still contributed and enough to stand up against the best the premier league has to offer.

Oh and then there was Downing!!

It's baffling isn't it.

Some people need to realise the grass is not always greener. Keep Nani fit and he will be a success. His form at the start of last season was incredible.

I have a feeling that the signings this summer will be comparable to the summer of 2007. Back then, we signed Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and also secured Tevez on a two-year loan. We then went on to win the Premier League and Champions League double.
This summer, we've already signed Kagawa and Powell.
Despite all the transfer speculation about Modric and et al, Fergie might do a double raid on Portugal again and capture Rodriguez and Gaitan to replace Nani and Anderson (ironically!). He's already shown that he has a penchant for signing players from the Portuguese league (with varying degrees of success) such as Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Manucho and Bebe.
Gaitan could be our technically gifted playmaker to dictate the tempo of the game akin to Veron or Riquelme. Carrick or Cleverley could partner him in midfield.
Valencia on the right and Rodriguez on the left would provide a well-balanced look to our side and form a deadly South American troika with Kagawa in the 'trequartista' role behind Rooney.
Players like Scholes, Giggs, Young, Welbeck and Chicharito provide quality strength in depth.

The best Premiership team of the last ten years.....

If we see Nani sold i would love to see James Rodriguez as his replacement ive been a huge fan of him since his early days he oozes class imo he is left footed can play central he is also very direct but also skillfull and has pace to burn he is Nani and Valencia rolled into one pretty much with the directness and skill i think he will become an absolute world class footballer and if we miss out on him then he would be one of the biggest misses in my life time thats how high i rate the lad. {Ed007's Note - Nice to see you aren't taking things too serious there mate.}

Lets get all these Nani rumours straight.

United DON'T want to sell Nani. They will only sell him if contract talks break down.

Nani is to be offered a new contract to stay with United when he comes back from the Euro's and should he refuse the contract... THEN and only then will United listen to offers for him. {Ed007's Note - You do know he nearly left last summer......

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jun 2012 19:18:04
I don't understand why this rumours board is obsessed with Modric....He's almost the same age as sneider (who people are against spending too much £ on), Sneider has a consistent awareness of the pitch that not many other players possess and showed his class throughout the Dutch Euro 2012 campaign whereas Modric showed us flashes against a tired looking Spanish team. Modric's goal scoring capabilities are limited (which Utd would expect from this type of midfielder) plus Sneider has the experience playing domestic and European games week in week out for club and has been the cog in a (much better than Croatia) national team representing his country under immense pressure (eg.World Cup 2010).

Anyway...my point was, why are we going on a bout Modric? We have just signed Kagawa (and not just to sit on the bench and be a passenger). He is a class act at only 23 years old. Yes I know he is only playing in the bundesliga but (having watched a lot of European club football) he looks like he has huge potential to be world class amongst hundreds of ordinary players in Europe at the moment!

The player we need for the first team is a stopper! We have never replaced Roy Keane, after several attempts. Number 1 transfer target should now be Javi Martinez (maybe Mvila 2nd). He has been a cut above the rest (even when standing in at CB) for Bilbao and has looked more than comfortable when representing his country alongside world class players (probably better than Busquets who he would push out of the team if he came to Utd).

Nani - I would only let him go if the money was guaranteed to be well spent! He is one player in our team (along with Rooney) who can do the unexpected. This season we have been guilty of playing in front of teams with no penetration because of Nani's injury, as he can walk past a player with ease. I accept his decision making is bad but it has been consistently improving throughout his career with us (albeit not as quick as Ronaldo!). James Rodriguez must admit not seen a lot of him but dont think he is proven to replace a player like Nani and would expect the cash to be used more wisely...

Had to get it off my chest...what do you all (+ eds) think?

Moz

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Did you just say biscuits is in our team?!

DodgyBanter

Agree1 Disagree0

And when did Sneijder show his class? 1 pass in a game that his tea lost. Remind me how well this Sneijder inspired side did?

Modric however held his own against the best midfield on the planet.

Agree3 Disagree1

Why are you trying to compare sneijder and modric they play different roles. If sneijder was bought then he would be the one to keep kagawa on the bench. Modric is a deep lying midfielder who controls the tempo of the game and wouldn't be bought to score goals but keep possession and link defence and attack. I do agree that we need a midfield general who can play alongside a modric type player, both behind kagawa.
Nathan

Agree2 Disagree0

They are 2 completely different players, ones a centre midfielder the others an attacking midfielder, it's like comparing iniesta to javi Martinez, just doesn't go pal

OTSPY

Agree1 Disagree1

I accept what your all saying but if we buy Modric as a deep lying midfielder I think this will deny us the option of signing an enforcer...which is what we need the most!

Watch Hollands games on replay if you can and you will sneider laid on numerous goal scoring opportunites for his strikers and tracked back trying to lift the team in all 3 games...it's just his strikers didnt put the ball in the net! If rvp scored one or two of them sneider would be praised!

Nathan - Its not liking comparing martinez to iniesta - martinez is a tackler who is good on the ball, modric is just good on the ball (and can be a little bit of a jack russel but cannot dominate like martinez can or Sneider for that matter)

Iniesta should only be mentioned when we talk about messi or ronaldo...he dances around the pitch with the ball and moves only like one other player i have seen - Zidane!

Agree0 Disagree0

I didnt mention iniesta or martinez.

Nani to sign new contract before start of season . No doubts its just contractual negotiations nothing more than that happens at most clubs and it's about both parties coming to a suitable agreement don't believe the hype ! With the new flair and legs in midfield were looking to bring in he is a perfect compliment to this. I know he does not look consistent but it's hard work when you have to be a genius every game and there's not much space to work with. More energy and better quality will give him more space . Have faith SANDY !

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Eric managed to be a genius most games so di Ronny so whats Nani's excuse? Lack of space? Its the same for every player.

Agree6 Disagree0

Well said, I think Nani is a great player and would be sad to see him leave

RR

Agree1 Disagree2

No he doesn't have to be genius every game, its not genius to take a corner that than clear the first defender, its basic skills i learnt at 11. I wouldn't want genius every game, i've only ever expected that of one player and that was Georgie. i'd just settle for Nani doing his job properly.

Agree3 Disagree0

so it looks like nani is going to be sold,he is a good player when he plays well he is very very good but he can be the opposite, maybe the funds of nani could go to someone like m'villa maybe even strootman, i think we need a def midfielder it would stop the likes of silva and nasri maybe even yaya bursting from box to box

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Looks like he is going to be sold because the paper said so?

If everything the papers said happened we would have a squad of 200 players next season!

GDS

Agree1 Disagree0

If we sell Nani then we'd need to sign another winger before even looking at CM.

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on GDS, I am getting annoyed with the fans obsessed with stopping City's midfield. We play them 3 times in a season if that! Why would Fergie sign players just to contain Silva and Yaya? We build our own team to win our way, not to 'contain' City.

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

If we had signed Hazard then Nani would have been sold. Now Hazard has fell through it's unknown what will happen, is there a good enough LW about to replace Nani and is he available? One thing for sure is that this summer would be the perfect time for the club to sell Nani as he has only two years left on his current contract. I think it's highly likely that Nani will be sold, I just hope he is replaced with a better player or someone with the potential to be better.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree1

Sydney

You know I agree

I haven't seen enough of Rodriguez but for me Muniain is a real talent

I get the impression it is United who are stalling on Nanis contract and no matter how many protestations on here SAF will make the decision and I would be surprised to see Nani in August unless we can't get the one we want.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is better than Nani though? Discussions on the official site say Rodriguez lacks Nani's pace, & Gaitan isn't good enough.

Red Spark

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard was the player earmarked to replace Nani. I think that was pretty obvious. I agree that there are not many around that could improve the squad by replacing Nani. Rodriguez or Muniain are probably the two who I would be happy with, but I do not think we are linked to either sadly.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

rodriguez has more pace than nani. Might even rival valencia's. I agree that gaitan is not good enough. Would prefer muniain tbh who i think will be a world class player in a couple of years.
Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

Just did a search to see who is the "top gun" of left wingers. Apparently PSG's Nene scored 27 & made 22 assists last season. I must confess I've never seen him play & he's 30 years old so that pretty much rules him out as a signing. Some statistic though! (source - Transfermeerkat)

Red Spark

Agree0 Disagree0

Mick
I stand corrected if that is the case, I've only ever seen brief highlight clips of Rodriguez. If you have a look at the discussion boards on United's official site though, there are plenty of people praising his skills but criticising his lack of pace. That is the only reason I raised the question.

i hate how people think cleverly is injury prone. He had his foot broken against bolton due to a shocking tackle from kevin davies! Then we rushed him back for the everton game when he wasn't back to fitness. Doesn't mean he's injury prone. If i recall correctly he had no problems at wigan. And one of his championship loans came to an end because of a broken leg again if i remember correctly. A broken leg and a broken foot do not make you injury prone. Cut the lad some slack, injury prone is the likes of anderson.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Mr Penguin I couldnt agree more. Go back five years and anybody would be very excited at the prospect of signing Anderson and Nani as we did. Some players work out, some do, whether these two have is debatable but no doubt the same people excited about signing them are the same people saying sell them and by the next hot name they have seen play just a handful of games if at all, the grass isnt always greener. Personally I do think we need to sign another central midfielder but bar Martinez I dont see anybody about at the moment who is really any good that is even remotely available

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Could be possible, if Nani goes. But the ideal candidate to replace him would be James Rodriguez.

Rafael_Smalling_Vidic_Evra(or LB)

Then we don't have to shove Rooney right up top - as I feel that is a waste of his talent.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Rooney playing in his more recent position is simply a case of needs, must! think back to when he played striker he had a very productive season, IMO he's more than capable of going up top and contributing just as much if not more!

LUKE CHADWICKS LOVE CHILD

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said it before and I'll say it again. In Rooney, we have one of the best finishers in the world, so playing him anywhere but up front would be the real waste of his talent. Yes he can do the job - but that's not where he's best suited.

IMO, Alba is too weak for the PL. He also reminds me of Evra in that he gets forward well, but is often out of position in defence. Anyone that reminds me of Evra I think we should steer clear of! Also, isn't he almost a Barcelona player?

As yet none of us know what the extent of our activity in the transfer market this window is likely to be , however the window promisses to be very proffitable for uncle George again. George Mendis is the agent who brought us Ronaldo, Nani , Anderson , DE Gea and not forgetting Bebe and also brokered the deal to take Ronaldo to Madrid . It now looks as though Nani & Anderson could be leaving with another one of his clients , Gaitan moving the other way to OT. No austerity measures then in uncle George's house.

Raffa

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I'd hate to lose Nani just to get Gaitan who is no where near as good as Nani. Rodriguez or Munian would be the only players apart from the Ronaldo's of this world, i would want to replace Nani. I would much rather see Young leave and Rodriguez come in a this would be a formidable front line:

Nani________Kagawa_______Rodriguez
____________Rooney

Whatever anyone says, Nani excels from the right hand side as he has shown for us and also for Portugal at the Euros. Rodriguez is far better than Young is also. Nani, Kagawa and Rodriguez are all very versatile and would be very difficult to pick up which would make our forward line un-playable.

RedDevil19

Agree9 Disagree3

Bit harsh to sell Young though don't you think RedDevil?

Would be a cracking line up but I really do prefer Valencia's style of play to Nani's so I would just put Nani on the left.

1redarmy

Agree2 Disagree2

Yeah i bet Rooney would love two selfish players who always think of themselves. And where is the defensive capabilities of the two wingers. People think just because some players can shoot and have flair that that's all that matters and don't think of balancing the team sheet for when the flair players have a bad day.

If you only think of attack you'll end up like Arsenal. This is the premier league you wouldn't get away with it. THINK!

Red Joe

Agree3 Disagree0

Id prefer nani in the centre with kagawa on the left.
tony on the right
with rooney upfront with young.
rooney drooping back to link with a new holding mid.

Agree0 Disagree3

Red Joe

I think you'll find that Nani is defensively sound, where as he wasn't 3 to 4 years ago. The same would happen to Rodriguez and everyone who's ever watched Muniain knows about his work ethic.

Percy

Agree1 Disagree0

It would be harsh to sell Young, and it won't happen. And Nani, Kagawa and Rodriguez are all relatively hard workers anyway 'Red Joe'. And its not as though they would play like that every game, Valencia would get a lot of games still.

And to be honest Joe, how hard working was Ronaldo and Nani? And Nani now does work hard as does Rodriguez. Ronaldo did next to nothing defensively..so you don't really have a point at all.

RedDevil19

@RedDevil19

19 Jun 2012 10:40:55
Interesting to read about the Nani and Jamie Rodriguez story. If Nani does go then either Rodriguez of Muniain would be the best replacement for him. Having said that I very much hope that Nani signs on, he has been great for Portugal and has shown his abilities. Hopefully he can replicate that for a whole season. If Nani does go then I would love to see Rodriguez come in, add to that a central midfield and a left back and we'd be laughing (and maybe a young centre back).

So if Nani goes then this is what i'd hope to see:

- Rodriguez £25 million
- Bryan Oviedo £4 million
- Modric £25 million / Cabaye £20 million
- Papadopolous £5 million

With the sales of Nani and Berbatov, we would get around £30 million for the pair. That would give us a net spend on those four of about £25 million which in my mind is very good business.

RedDevil19

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I would be very happy with those players, but I would like for us to push the boat out and also sign a DM too....

M'Vila and that group would transform our team, squad.

Oxred

Agree2 Disagree0

Personally that + M'Villa would be to much of a change IMO. We need to hit the ground running and all those changes would take a while to blend together. I would go for a LB, Cabaye/M'Villa, Rodriguez and maybe a young striker/defender if Nani left.
SqueakyBum

Agree0 Disagree0

Completly agree, but realistically SAF see's Carrick and Fletcher as bossing that role. So I think that is where the DM rumours end, it just isn't going to happen. I wish it would happen, but unfortunatly the 'DM' position isn't the way that we are going to go.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's true that Porto value him at 30m euros, then you would think even though Porto are good hagglers that we could get him for around 25m euros (£20m). If it's true that they are willing to take Anderson as part-exchange then we would only have to spend £10m-£12m to bring him in. Could be a good deal for both clubs and the players.

Ed002, do you know of any recent talks between United and Porto regarding Rodriguez? Thanks.

Can you imagine the free flowing movement between the forward 6! I know I put rooney on the right but I do it as a free position swapping with all. That defence I feel wouldn't even need full backs and Hummels and Silva are very good on the ball anyway.

The only problem I see is there are only two United players in there, wish I could add more but I just cant :(

Its a very difficult task making the 'best team' but this would be the team I would have:

_____________Neuer
Lahm____Vidic_____Silva____Coentrao
___Xavi___Schweinsteiger__Ozil
Messi_______Benzema_______Ronaldo

Mario Gomez and Rooney could easily get in that team as well, but Benzema for me is the best striker in the world and you can't leave Ronaldo or Messi out so there is no real room for Rooney. It was hard to leave out Iniesta, but Ozil is just too brilliant to leave out. Hummels too could get in there, as could Ramos or A. Cole.

Joe Hart is the best keeper in the world for me, so consistant and Casillas and neuer switch off sometimes, you dont see that much with hart.

I left Kompany out as I think the ones I put in are better on the ball, Vidic is my main man in Defence with Kompany just behind him in the pecking order.

Syd get bale off that team haha.

Gomez best in the world? I have heard it all now ;)

Sydney!

Hart didn't do himself justice with that Nasri goal either mind...

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt say Gomez is the best striker in the world, perhaps the best of his type. I certainly rate him about someone like Llorente.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

MD, Have you seen Hummels and Silva on the ball? they would easily push out wide and get forward with Yaya dropping in to cover.

Hard to justify Coentao as the best LB in the world RedDevil.

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry Sydney but Bale is not in the World XI.
SqueakyBum

Agree2 Disagree0

Mario Gomez is so clinical Sydney, he offers nothing to the team apart from the main factor, GOALS. He scores bucket loads, makes intelligent runs and gets into the right position whilst also being very clinical. Apart from Ronaldo and Messi, Gomez is the most clinical finisher, but Benzema and Rooney have a more all around game.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Squeaky, name me a better left wing-back than Bale could be?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

19, agreed Gomez is a clinical finisher and always seems to be in the right place at the right time and I do think he is a top player, but he is very lazy and offers nothing else. Sometimes chances will be hard to come by and having Gomez is like having ten men at times. I can understand why Bayern fan's opinions are divided. He does get a lot of chances due to Ribery, Scweinsteiger & Robben being in the side so you would expect him to score a goal a game in the Bundesliga.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, Just change the formation haha forget a wing back, put Ronnie out left and stick another striker on.

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale should be nowhere near any world 11. I'd have a problem putting him in a premier league 11.

__________Casillas
Richards_Vidic_Kompany_Lahm

_________Ronaldo

Percy

Agree1 Disagree1

Percy, putting Richards at the back is almost as bad as putting Bale in a world 11! He didnt even make an England 23, let alone an 11.

He is a good strong player but isn't a player who would walk into any team.

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

Richards had a niggling injury at the end of the season from what I understand. Unless you genuinely think that Glen Johnson is better?

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I've seen T.Silva and Hummels a bit but not very much in the positions you have them playing.
Great players in Percy's team....except Richards. He's got the concentration of a goat.

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale is not the best defensively, before Tottenham moved him to LW he was very average at LB. My formation wouldn't include wing backs anyway.
SqueakyBum

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok fair play Percy I didnt know about his injury I thought it was just a snub but I still wouldn't have Richards in a world 11.

M.D I still had them as CB's but both are the type that could pass into mid easily our to the wings, with the players infront then they wouldn't have to bomb down the wings.

Ed's, i will admit this is a shocking case of MOTD fever but what is the availability of Ivan Strinic (Croatia's left back)

Sorry in advance.. i thought he played well

Cban {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Must admit, i really like the look of Srna - great right back - gets forward well and puts a decent ball into the box - quite surprised he's still at Donetsk.

At 30 years of age it might not be an attractive buy for the top teams

All the Modric haters on this site i hope you watched the EURO'S.....i think that Mr.Modric has shut a few of you up on here.
Never a doubt...he is a world class midfielder!

Simmo

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Unsure why it needed 3 games in the Euro's, he has been playing like that for Spurs since he joined!

GDS

Agree5 Disagree1

I am not a "modric hater" - and I would like to see him at the club - tho I would much prefer Sneijder :) . But only for the right price .
He is good - very good, but not the miracle worker some seem to think - and certainly not in the same game changing class that Paul Scholes was - and to some extent still is.

Mike

Agree2 Disagree3

I would have no problem with Mods coming in at all but the likely mahoosive price tag likely 35+m is to much imo. As I have stated we need 2 CM'ers as there are question marks over Ando, Fletch, Pogba, whether Petrucci will make the grade (I think he will but not this season), Scholes is getting older, Giggs and Park should not be playing CM at all.

So that leaves Carrick, Clevs and Scholes. If we are looking to play 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 more this season we need 2 players of top quality to add to that Central area and we could get 2 players of that quality like Cabaye and Strootman for around the same price imo.

Plus I have a man boner for Cabaye! ;-)

Jono

Agree4 Disagree0

I have said that before Jono, If we can sign Modric for 30million or less then he is my first choice, if not Cabaye and Strootman or M'vila would be ideal.

I'd be happy with this team next season:

De Gea [Hopefully he improves on his terrible season last year]

Agree0 Disagree0

Errrrrr, I remember Kompany scoring the winner for City in the middle of goal in the six yard box without De Gea making a challenge. Did you see his challenge when Blackburn scored their 3rd goal and winner at OT? To name but 2! Scared schoolboy goalkeeping which cost us the league!

Agree0 Disagree3

Kompany scored a free header because Smalling left him, nothing to do with De Gea that one.

The Blackburn game was a big mistake and cost us points, but some of the saves he made towards the end of the season and him massive improvement were delightful to watch and I would expect a fantastic season from him.

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Multiple saves against Blackburn, Chelsea, Arsenal to name but a few that made sure we didn't lose, seem to remember his save from Matas free kick, which personally I feel is 1 of the best i've ever seen.

Agree2 Disagree0

You can't possibly blame one player for us loosing the league. The whole team seemed tired near the end of the season.

There are a lot of people on here slagging Nani off which i think is unfair on the lad. Yes he can be inconsistant but he can also be brilliant. That said i would take £25 million for him if it meant Rodriguez coming in for the same kind of money. My reasoning for this is not that i think he is a far superior player to Nani, just that i think we really need a left footed winger at the club. We would then have Rodriguez on the left and Valencia on the right and Young who could easily play both sides to give us fantastic opportunities to switch between the 3 of them. Also Rodriguez is only 20 and has lots of chance to improve further. I also cant see us getting a striker this window due to the fact we have in my opinion 3 high quality strikers already along with young who can play up there and if neccessary Nick Powell could do a job in cup games etc so to sign a forward when Keane will be back next year would be a waste of money and would stop the development of Keane when he comes back. Modric wont be at United next season but i believe we will see a less expensive alternative come in but no idea who SAF has lined up as only him and Gill know that.

Hey all,
Today i was thinking about how FIFA could eliminate excessive play acting and card drawing from the game. Living in America, (your) football is my favorite sport, hands down. Listening to sports talk radio, and the sports media over here are starting to (justly) rip professional footballers for over dramatizing even the slightest touches. Not only is it unsportsman like behavior, it also gives the beautiful game a bad reputation over here. This is the reason I am sick of players going down like they have had a life threatening injuries every time they get tapped on the shoulder. Personally, I would like to see refs give out yellow cards to players who go down over dramatically, then return to the play normally after 10 seconds. There needs to be something that makes players think twice about going down clutching their faces 5 times a game. El Classico, although I don't care about the game myself, is arguably the biggest regular season football game in America. The Manchester Derby gets a lot of attention as well. It's a shame that players like Pepe and Bisquits are rolling on the ground 2 times a game. Not only does it stop play, it puts a bad image on the sport we all love. Anyone else have similar thoughts/ideas that could prevent this crap from happening as much?
Cheers,
Sparty On

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I've thought about this before, and I think the only way to stop it is retrospective bans. You can't do anything during a game because you can't be sure how much someone is hurt, or if they are hurt at all. Nothing will ever be done about it though.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only way this can be stamped out totally is by using video and straight ted cards. Now this would slow the game down initially as the ref would need a seperate official to advise him and then issue the red card but if players knew that this would happen after a week i think that play acting would be a thing of the past and then the video would be rarely needed and so the game wouldnt actually be slowed down but is always there as a deterrant. It needs stamping out as it is getting ridiculous now.
Brendan

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been surprised at this Euros about how little (relatively speaking) play acting and diving there has been - it has really improved my enjoyment of the tourney.

Mike

Agree2 Disagree0

I think if you go down injured then the ref should keep you off the field for 1 min. Then people wouldn't fake injuries and if you are injured you can make sure you are ok before coming back on the pitch.

i honestly dont believe we will make a significant sjgning this season other than who we already have in,you can already imagine fletcher and vidic being wheeled out as new signings, read the bleacher report on the ten reporters theyve interviwed about the chances of us signing anybody of significance and they are massively doubtful, such a shame to see how far we have fallen since 2008,morgan stanley wont touch us for the ipo just hope the gimps might sell.
oz.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I wouldn't touch morgan stanley with a barge pole and as for the bleacher report they have no idea who we will can or won't sign. You do not manage a club for nearly 23 years by being an person and if SAF feels players need to go to finance the deals we need then that is exactly what will happen,
I would much rather have this scenario than the one at Chelsea where players are bought buy the owner so please wait and see
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah yes the bleacher report, the source of all truth! I haven't read one thing I have agreed with on that American site, it's ridiculous.

United clearly need more players and will make 1 or 2 more signings, the window isn't open yet remember and even city haven't signed anybody yet!
