What most of you who say you are unted fan do is causing more harm than good to the team.
This is because, before ever the team plays, you have wished in your heart the downfall of a player in the team by name Nani.
You must remember that as you wish him failure so is Man United failing.
Out of 11 players in Man utd.It is only Nani you can only blame.what a shame ........? FANS

Kings of Europe - The Chelsea story.

This program is on now, and I've just heard this wonderful quote from Terry:

"There's been this special connection with us and the Champions League"......

Forget Real, Utd, Liverpool, Barca, Bayern, Ajax....its Chelsea who everyone associates with Europe!

Chelsea, creating history since 2003 :)

StevieK

Surely the kings of europe have won it at least 5 times and own a cup?

Well well here we go again then.

Same terrible CM, same inconsistency on the wing (including Toni tonight), couple of individual shockers inc peno but more so why why why are we still not changing tactics to combat where we are failing in games?

F**king clear as day we were getting overrun in CM AGAIN yet we still refuse to change and put a third body in there! I find it unforgivable that after 60 mins and a few close calls (mostly resulting from their CM bombing on top of ours) that nobody can have the guts to say to SAF that it's not working.

God I wish I was in there!

rubbishe tactics, carp performance, lucky defending and same old problems in the middle.

As I said a while back, this season is going to be a very long hard one!

Oh and we didn't play a powerhouse team here we were playing a very average European team, who are renouned for not travelling well and scraped a win playing terrible football. we have to play better for the five remaining games, simple as that!

Really annoyed yet again. That's 4 games out of 5 so far!

Jono

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Jono all season we have been getting outnumbered in midfield we should lay 433 with Cleverley, Carrick and Anderson in the centre they would be great lots of energy with Kagawa, RVP and Valencia up top.

Agree2 Disagree1

There will be big changes soon once SAF is
moved up stairs as much as I love the man, I can't wait, to see that happen back room staff kicked out the door Dr know and the gang.
I/we all can see what is going on, and
now getting sick of it. Change is needed

Just thought i'd come have a look to see what you all thought of tonight's game, since i didn't get chance to see any of it.

Instead, all i see is this Blair guy embarrassing himself. To come on here and try to give out stick when United win in the Champions League is beyond laughable at the best of times. But to do it when Liverpool are playing on Channel 5 tomorrow night against a team called 'Young Boys'? Well words can't even begin to explain...

I feel the need to apologize on behalf of all other football fans for him.

and by the way, given nani's performance tonight,he will surely start on the right on sunday with valencia droping(poor crossing, too direct)out for giggs.this will happen, whether you like it or not because sir alex surely realised nani was way better than valencia tonight

As usual the Nani bashing starts again when it is clearly obvious to the unbiased that he was the only attacking threat we carried tonight! The team don't play well but Nani gets it again, after creating 4 or 5 decent opportunities, can't think of 1 that Valencia created! Granted he missed a pen but it's only the 3rd worst pen we've taken this season!

Fabs

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Put of 10 i'd give him a 4, and if kagawa wasnt playing he would of got considerably less. Kagawa was the only reason he looked slightly better tonight, it kind of shows that anyone can look good with quality players around them.

Whole teams performance was bad so why to blame nano alone . Anyways this is what I thought abt the players:
Evra pathetic on defence but a couple of good moves in attack
Nani wasteful but a few beautiful balls for goal scoring chances
Valencia needs Chico or Rooney or welbeck in the box to find his crosses
Kagawa good
RVP wasn't dere for the crosses and could've performed better
Carrick good
Scholes gave away too many balls

Believable5 Unbelievable1

19 Sep 2012 22:08:31
So, having calmed down now...

1. Kagawa looks class but needs to see more of the ball. He makes things happen but the game sometimes passes him by. If we can get him on the ball, he will make things happen.

2. Wingers by definition play on the wing. Valencia eventually got going but we need to use pace and get behind defences. Nani wandered all over leaving Evra continually exposed.

3. Carrick and Scholes started well but became a little too static and deep.

4. No idea how Rooney fits in when he's back, best of luck with that one SAF.

5. So far this year too many layers look off the pace. We have quality players who aren't yet up to speed - I have no idea why.

6. As for penalties, so far it hasn't cost us but there's no excuse...

AJH

Nani is clearly low on confidence since we agreed to sell him understandable ofcourse you could see it with the pen and the was one point I was just expecting him to shoot but he slid it across to rvp instead

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 Sep 2012 22:04:13
In the end a win against a decent Turkish team but it was hardly convincing was it. The main problem was that the defence was repeatedly left exposed by our midfield being completely overrun. Against the better teams our good attacking play won't be enough. Hopefully we can hang on until January and then buy someone like Strootman to prop up our middle.

united fans are embarasing, asking for nanis head because he missed a penalty?why not ask for rvp and hernandez?look at the second half and all our chances were from him.is it his fault hernandez cant score?nani put him through on 2 ocassions,2 wonderful passes.comeon, give credit where its due

bk7

Believable10 Unbelievable6

When RVP missed the pen he made up for it with a hatrck, when hernandez missed he broke his neck trying to redeem himself and ended up scoring, when nani missed he continued to wander around the pitch with no intent or ambition to help the team.

Anon

Agree7 Disagree5

Nani played very well apart from the pen. he needs a goal for his confidence but the amount ov chances hernandez misses lately is remarkable yet nani gets abuse for anything he does wrong, u could sense it in the stadium that they wer waitin to pounce before he even did anything wrong yet valencia couldnt find a cross all night and no mention of this. i feel sorry for nani as he must sense the fans are always against him yet he gives 100 percent and has the balls to step up for a pen, show him some support and maybe he will then shine again.....come to think of it dont think we even have a song for him, some fans

19 Sep 2012 21:59:20
We have a really boring and classless football so far this season. Maybe few young guys from the academy would have more energy, passion and desire to win than this current players.

Evra and Nani are useless, Valencia is too predictable and today was really poor.

Scholes can't play 2 games in a row on the same week.

Right now our game is so slow that I doubt if we're capable of scoring goals from counter-attacks!!

If we concede half of the chances Galatasaray had, to Liverpool, we'll be beaten nicely.

But the worst thing of all is that Evra will keep getting games and Nani, ah, I prefer to shut my mouth.

Well that was interesting, another missed pk by a another taker. Why didn't RVP take the pk? Did he defer to Nani? Rooney would have taken it. The most important thing is the 3 pts but that was a below average performance. SAF is kidding himself if he thinks DDG isn't our no 1, he's one of the best shot stoppers in the world, still needs to work on crosses but the only way he will improve is if he plays.

1. Should have been 4 penalties for us, 2 for them. Awful refereeing.

2. Nani is getting worse.

3. Great to see Fletcher back.

4. Kagawa and RVP are great signings but we need more to compliment them.

5. De Gea proving he's the man for the job again.

6. BUTTNER MUST PLAY AHEAD OF EVRA AGAINST LIVERPOOL!

7. Powell should be getting a chance. We need to try something new.

8. Galatasaray fans. Wow.

9. We got the win but need to improve big time.

10. We need to work on our penalties. That's 6 in a row now.

Hard earned win tonight but I just wanted to say one thing, there is only one thing Nani should be criticized for and that was his penalty which was awful, other than that he was decent, his link up play was great, put one or two decent crosses in and he played two great over the top balls to Evra and Hernandez who should have scored. Problem is at the moment he is a scapegoat, so as you can see further down the page where there was a person calling him useless 3 minutes into the game, people will have it in for him even before the match begins.

CnM {Ed004's Note - Thank you. I thought RVP, Valencia and Evra were worse tonight}

I'm so angry with one particular player right now (Percy, you know who it is and I'll be interested to see your defence), that I'm afraid to post what I think in case I get banned, so....who was everyone's best Utd player tonight?

I'm going for Johnny Evans, and not just because I'm from NI - thought he looked strong and composed tonight, bar the dodgy tackle near the end.

I'm away to count to 10....

I know Nani was frustrating but let's be honest, he wasn't the only one and he wasn't the worst.

AJH

Agree4 Disagree1

I think you should go and count to ten, and re-evaluate the game you've just watched. Kind of predictable, all the Nani-haters coming out of the woodwork.. Truth is some of his intricat passing with Kagawa was one of the positives of our game tonight. Two through balls that Chicharito should have made more of. All in all a promising display by Nani, marred by a horrendous effort of a penalty..

In what way was Valencia's contribution any more valuable than Nani's?

Skeletor

Agree7 Disagree2

I too thought Jphnny Evans looked solid and composed

Gav

Agree3 Disagree0

AJH - mate I know he wasn't the worst, it's just so frustrating with the lad, because I know what he is capable of. I always had such high expectations for him.

Skeletor - I am by no means a Nani-hater, and Valencia was poor last night. The difference being, Toni can be forgiven a poor one due to his otherwise commendable consistency, whereas one word that can't be levelled at Nani, is 'consistent'.

Outplayed at home again! Glad for the three points and hope we will get better as the season progresses. Plus points were the defence, vidic and De Gea especially and three points. Negatives, Not keeping possession and Nani trying to gt himself fired. Let Fred the Red take the next pen please!

Im not one to jump to conclusions but its time for nani to find a new club,he offers nothing to the team and doesnt even look like he wants to be on the pitch, why was he taking the penalty?even after his miss rvp should be taking them,if not for de gea nanis diving antics would have cost us a goal, the bloke is a liability,id rather give robbie brady a chance than play nani again.

I'm afraid that performance was very poor but I'll be positive as ever,
1) Fletcher back, looked rusty but that's understandable.
2) vidic looked great one everything in the air looked back to his best.
3) kagawa played really well
4) great goal from Carrick
5) de gea saved us a point!
But Nani, words can't describe how ridiculous he is!

Caolán. {Ed004's Note - I knew this would happen. I thought Nani did more than Valencia tonight IMO}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I think edd has a point, seems to me everyone needs a scapegoat some times.

there where worse than nani tonight.
united have conceded more attempts on goal than any team in the EPL, and we again looked far to open in midfield i think that is more of and issue.
we let teams play and if we do that against the best we will get hurt.
jred

Agree7 Disagree0

Ed004 Valencia but in some dangerous crosses and tracked back unlike someone {Ed004's Note - Nani did track back and put in a few stunning crosses. Look at his corner then his cross with his left right after it put on the 6 yard box waiting for someone to tap it in}

Agree2 Disagree2

Nani had more of the possession then Valencia, yet still seemed to waste most of the chances he had to play someone in or deliver a decent cross, Not praising Tony V either. Both had bad games, But considering how many more chances nani had to show quality and failed to impress makes him an ideal candidate for worst United player playing tonight.... Well he and Evra :P

Agree0 Disagree4

Look at his slack passes played rvp a shocking ball it was behind him, if he passes properly rvp scores? Yes Valencia wasn't great but Nani is getting consistent, consistently bad! {Ed004's Note - What about RVP pools awful touch? I don't think it was that bad a ball and think RVP should hit it first time as it was put on his left foot}

We must play Lindegaard, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Buttner, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa, Rooney & RVP against Liverpool.

Sydney!

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Sydney, why would Rooney be considered when not fit.

A

Agree1 Disagree0

Lindegaard?

G.A.G.U.S

Agree3 Disagree1

DDG is a better keeper.

Agree5 Disagree1

Lindegaard has to play as DDG will purposely get bullied on Sunday by Skrtel & Agger. Liverpool will try anything. There will be plenty of corners and crosses into the box and I would prefer Lindegaard there instead of DDG. Rooney has been training hard indoors from what I have heard and will likely play a part in the game.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree1

So how is our goalie going to improve if we sit him? He's is a much better shot stopper and should play regardless of the opposition. The way he has been handled this year I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Spain in a couple of years at Madrid. Then you will be saying what a great keeper he is.

Agree3 Disagree0

Its not what's best for DDG its what's best for united and i agree lindegaard will be better suited to the liverpool game.
DDG shot stopping is good but he doesnt command his box enough and is still a bit suspect on crosses imo.
but his only young and wesoon improve in them areas
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

I think DDG is better suited to the Liverpool game unless they've recently signed a winger who can cross. Liverpool will play through the middle and not from the flanks, Crosses won't be a problem in this game. They are more likely to have quick turn and shoot chances which will take someone who has great shot stopping ability to save. This is why for me DDG has to start ahead of Lindegaard on sunday.

Nani out!! He has to be sold, surely Fergie is witnessing these same below-par performances each and every game now since February! The boy peaked, it went to his head a little, became very complacent and now has found himself struggling to refund half the form he once used to produce. He is going back the way as opposed to improving, or even levelling out. Cash in Fergie n Gill and bring in a young, hungry, driven winger.... Isco would be nice, or someone in that mould.

All the threat coming from Evra's corner. Oppo managers are not silly anymore, they know our Achilles heel. Why did Ev pass it back to Vidic? Should have been a Gala penalty. Then Ev gives away the ball and gets skimmed in one attack, just to add insult to injury he fouls matey to give them another opportunity to get the ball in the box. After Buttner's performance how did he not start tonight? Surely after watching this Fergie must feel Buttner is the way to go on Sunday.

Absolutely no threat coming from the right hand side, surprise surprise.

take your evra hating glasses off, for the whole first half evra had 2 players to mark as nani never came back once , in fact rvp came back and covered a couple of times.

in the second half when gala had the ball evra tucked in and i would imagine after having an ear full from fergy nani picked up the wideman
jred

Agree5 Disagree2

Gee Syd, what a surprise. Evra found himself against 2 regularly and was getting no help. It was very patchy from most. Scholes and Carrick sat too deep, Nani was his usual frustrating self, Valencia got going... eventually, Hernandez looks very rusty. Possession was squandered continually. It feels like we need to click, not sure how we do that but right now, we look very very rusty.

AJH

Agree6 Disagree2

I'm sorry but what does Evra passing it to Vidic when he wasn't free have to do with marking two men? What does getting skinned ONE ON ONE more than once have to do with having to mark two men? What does giving away a freekick after being skinned have to do with marking two men?

tonight the main issue was lack of cover, you ask what is being skinned one on one have to do with it , well it all comes to starting position , getting tight to the player early.

if you are marking two people you cant get tight to one in case it goes to the other, then when said player gets the ball its hard to close him down as he has a choice of passing to the spare man or going past you so you end up trying to stop the ball inside and the player going past you, which stops you just standing the player up.

watch the first half in particular the amount of times evra is tucked in only to have to come out wide to face the spare man while nani was stood with valancia is un real.
in comparison have a look at toni position on the right ,raf tucks in and toni is more or less rb, when the gala player gets the ball raf and toni are tight and there is no space to for the attacker to go in to.
basic football hope that helps
jred

Agree2 Disagree2

Jred, I know what you are saying and it makes complete sense, but on these occasions where Ev was at fault in the 1st half yesterday, none of this applies. He didn't have two men to mark on either of those occasions. Passing back to Vidic when Vidic wasn't free was careless and typical of Evra of the past two and a half years. When he was skinned he was positioned in between goal and the attacking player and it was 1on1, there was no other for him to watch out for, he was beaten easy and even fouled the player to give him another chance to get the ball in the box. He was better in the 2nd half and can only assume he got a bollocking at HT. Lets not forget Vidic was covering for Evra an awful lot in that 1st half. I wouldn't mind such poor defending if he was deadly in attack, but he is woeful in attack too.

Poor performance since the goal. Evra back and nearly causes a penalty in the first few minutes with a nightmare pass back into his own box, skinned a number of times already. Nani has made some awful decisions, but Valencia has been even worse. Not one good cross so far. Scholes looks tired, no way he should be playing twice in one week. We are lucky to be ahead and seriously need to step it up a gear. If we don't kill the game off at the start of the second half it could be two lost points.

Oh my days this is typical of the team for the last couple of years.... We take a lead in the first 10 or 15 minutes and we can not improve on it or up the tempo when 5+ years ago we would be 1 nil up inside 10 minutes and just rip into teams until half time not giving them a sniff at goal or even possession it is so frustrating why can we not build on things we have a far superior team yet we have probably been the worse team.

Nani is really getting on my nerves. He's meant to be playing on the left hand side, however he is always stood next to Valencia. This is therefore pushing RVP out to the left hand side with Nani through the middle there by negating our biggest goal threat. I really do hope Isco replaces him, he's infuriating.

Have to say, I've only seen Isco 4-5 times, but he looks like a top talent. Would still prefer Muniain.

G.A.G.U.S

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Can't see us getting Muniain though. Bilbao reportedly want 40 Million Euros which is a rediculous fee. His attitude is also poor despite his obvious quality. Isco is much more likely as I think that Malaga may be experiencing some financial difficulties. However this is unlikely to happen in January as Isco is playing for Malaga in the CL and so would be cup tied.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo both could be class ans will probably be but the money difference is outstanding we could of nabbed Isco in the summer for around £15million that is a snatch ! where Muniain would of cost maybe £25-30million

Agree0 Disagree0

Just cos he's cup tied doesn't matter much, we could still have him for 5 months and get him used to being in England, and with the team, winter wouldn't be as much as a shock then compared to signing him in August.

Also if he's cuptied then he can play league games and rest someone for Europe.

Whats your predictions for tonight guys? I am going for a thrashing of 6-0. I don't know why but after the 4-0 win I think the team will be on a high and will be ready to score more goals.

I would love an attack 4 of

Valencia--Kagawa--Nani
----------RVP

With Welbeck coming on for Nani and Hernandez for Kagawa and RVP dropping back.

-JakeW

Believable3 Unbelievable3

What I think is worth baring in mind is that this group is unlikely to go to goal difference and SAF knows that. So if we can get 3 goals up then I would expect a few changes to be made, taking into account that we have better quality in depth than last season when we would be bringing on Obertan and Bebe etc. So I will go 3 or 4-0.

May I make a plea to everybody who is like myself going to Anfield on Sunday. There is bound to be some kind of tribute to the 96 before the game. I call on all Manchester United supporters attending the game no I beg them to show the respect to these 96 victims that is due. This is not about some petty football rivalry or about Louis Suarez. This is about 96 human beings who were killed needlessly and the dignified fight that their families have put up in order to get the truth. Forget about Munich songs or some of the other arguments i have heard in the past couple of days and just take a couple of minutes to put yourself in the place of those families. Everyone here on this site knows that I have no love for Liverpool FC or it supporters but let me say I have nothing but total respect and admiration for all the families and I am happy to stand there on Sunday and support them in any way they wish. Liverpool fans taunted us about Munich from the 70's right up until Hillsborough and after, it's not nice, but it happens and will continue to happen in the future. Young is definitely out apparently so Valencia will have to come in. I think Carrick will sit out of this one along with Scholes and Ferdinand. Unless we see Carrick partner Evans to guarantee Ferdinand and Vidic being fit for the weekend? Reports suggest Rooney isn't ready, but could he make the bench? I imagine the manager would want him to get 20 minutes before the Liverpool game. I think the manager will stick with Buttner after his good performance against Wigan. I think DDG will play ahead of Lindegaard who will play against Liverpool. I expect Kagawa & RVP will start after being left out against Wigan. How can anybody be happy with the latest set of accounts! It baffles me. Im by no way intelligent and to be honest cant make out what most of it means. However, i do understand that we as fans are paying for someone else to own an asset the size of Manchester United. We pay the interest, we pay the debt, the glazers walk away with their pockets lined. Please dont come on here saying your happy with the figures, you have just accepted it. It was bad enough when the club took away the 'football club' on the badge. The last thing we need is to accept Manchester United is a business, its our football club. Who cares if net profits are up or down by x %, or marketing has risen, i couldnt give a monkeys. I want my football club to be a football club. The glazers dont, all they want is our money. Hate them. Rant over!

Bodgerico

Believable8 Unbelievable1

So if you don't accept Manchester United is a business then what do we do?

We have to be a business to be successful, City is a business, Chelsea are a business. For FFP revenues are going to have to be high, and they are.

You start by saying you don't understand the figures and then ignore what people have said about them and come up with your own opinion based on what, a hatred of the Glazers?

You did not need the latest accounts to know that we are paying for someone else to own our club, hate that by all means, I think we all do, but most have learnt to accept it as we do not have the money to challenge them and take back our club.

If you have no interest in the business side and you don't care about the marketing etc then surely your 'football club' is exactly that, a football club. They play football twice a week and you watch them on the tv. So I am unsure what your issue is with the current accounts without this just being the same old Glazer rant that we all know?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree5

Of course they bought us for financial gain, of course it's not good that £50m a year leaves the club via interest/fee etc, but facts remain football clubs are football teams on the pitch, businesses of the pitch. Our finances aren't perfect, but we ARE in a strong position and the figures ARE good.

Casillas was embarrassingly bad today. Just another example of overrated Spanish keepers. For a long time Ive felt both Reina and Casillas were vastly overrated, and today was proof. Hart was poor too, but both of City's goals were on Casillas. Dzeko passed it on the floor, to the middle of the net, with his side foot, from 20 yards out! Meanwhile DDG is underrated, thanks to those couple of blunders early last season. But Im fine with that. His performances matter more than his reputation. -KG

Believable6 Unbelievable7

In my opinion Casillas has been consistently the best keeper in the world for about 5 years. Of course there have been some greats still playing during that time such as VDS Kahn and Lehman as well as the great pretenders in Reina Caesar and Valdes. Ok he had a bad game last night, and to be fair hasn't played great so far this season but i still would easilly rate him in the top 3 in the world.
