Hey ed002. Could you please provide any information on how managers severance packages work? Are the managers paid th e remainder of their contracts if they are fired? Rumours that Pochettino can't work until the summer if he wants to be paid his severance pay?

Does each contract have different stipulations or is there a specific payment structure in the event of a sacking?

Thanks mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It depends on individual contracts. Caveats are common - typically they only apply if a coach resigns but might also be used in other ways. So there is no fixed process and agreement.}

Serious question. How much longer can ole survive? Performances, results and league position are mediocre and this has been ongoing since March. The squad is flimsy, we lack in key areas badly, and yes ole has blooded some kids. however I don't think these excuses will fly much longer. I'm not one of the mob baying for his head, I'd be shocked however if the higher ups at OT aren't ready to pull the trigger on him. Do any of the eds know what the current situation is with regards to the manager?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained before, the club do not want to make a change unless it becomes absolutely necessary. The issue is now over what to do in the transfer market.}

01 Dec 2019 20:29:33
Don't mean to be annoying but what do you mean by absolutely necessary? . We need midfielders and badly btw.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Your question was about the coach, not the midfield.}

01 Dec 2019 20:39:28
7 wins in his last 33, is there a worse record in football. Yet there seems to be absolutely no pressure on him. His post match interviews are almost as pathetic as his inept management skills.

Agree5 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 20:50:17
Yeah I know.
I'm just wondering at what stage the board would consider ole at the point of no return. Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right now the club’s thoughts are on not making a change unless they have to.}

01 Dec 2019 22:23:38
If this continues I can't see him making it till Xmas. Right now the club have more reason to get rid than keep him. 2 defeats this week and he could be hanging by a thread.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a self inflicted wound made by the amateurs.}

01 Dec 2019 22:50:03
Agree 100% Ed. That's why I have zero faith in things changing anytime soon. Oh to be a well run club 🙄.

01 Dec 2019 22:54:50
The players that down tools and stroll through games need going before the manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 23:17:39
who has downed tools. apart from the 89 mill flop and matic who makes a arthritic doney look fast.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2019 00:02:07
Don't know about players downing tools I just think that most of them aren't good enough to begin with. Seriously, name me a player in our squad who puts in high level performances in most of their games. Our players blow hot and cold, mainly cold 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - Maybe the players are waiting for a pay rise :)

02 Dec 2019 07:04:01
There was no lack of effort yesterday apart from Martial.
It's the lack of quality that is hurting us.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Dec 2019 10:35:49
Martial has put no effort into anything since he joined the club. Awful player.

01 Dec 2019 19:44:08
Can I delete all my previous posts and re-write them please? Football, bloody hell! 🤦‍♂️🤣.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed047's Note - Seems to me you can write the longest essays in the world to convince yourself everything’s good but clearly it’s not DLIB.

So just relax and wait and see what happens, it’s just a game mate. 😁

01 Dec 2019 19:57:09
Spot on Ed047 time to give those thumps a rest I think! At least we can still have a laugh and a joke about it. Enjoy what's left of your weekend pal.

{Ed047's Note - and you mate 👍🏼

01 Dec 2019 19:57:18
It's never too late to get in big sam🤔.

{Ed047's Note - call him and he will come! 😉

01 Dec 2019 20:25:15
Save Big Sam for the Championship promotion season.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - not a bad shout Eric 😂

01 Dec 2019 20:35:48
DLIB are you now of the view ole is not the right man for the job?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 21:15:04
I was just joking Park following my posts this morning. Part of me wishes we could just fast forward 12 months to a time where some of our youngsters have got more experience and we can see if Ole has got the recruitment right.

I suppose we still have a route to Champions League football via the Europa but I won't be holding my breath.

I just wish the Club had some direction and leadership. Results aren't good enough and I don't think Ole could complain if he got sacked but do you really believe the Club would back a new manager with what they need? In truth it's a bit of a mess but I just don't think there is a quick fix.

Sadly I don't have the answers pal I'm just trying to be patient and hoping the likes of Rashford and Martial will develop into the players I hope they can be.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 21:31:36
Yeh that’s fair enough DLIB. I wish I had your patience but unfortunately it is broken 😂. We have some exciting young players for sure, but I don’t see Ole as the person to develop and bring the best out of them. I’d be putting all my eggs in the Europa league basket because that’s our only hope of champions league football.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Dec 2019 10:38:18
Dlib its only a matter of time before your patience is exhausted.
Becks will be the same.
Shappy not so sure it may take him a bit longer as he needs to get back to plant earth first😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2019 11:49:51
Shappy is special and will write a 1000 word essay to explain why Ole is special.

01 Dec 2019 18:53:26
Anyone think Ole is just sacking himself week by week?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Dec 2019 18:57:42
Why because we have no midfield to go toe to toe with any team in the leauge they are garbage.

And it's making the whole. team suffer.

Anyone coming in now will have the same issues.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 19:19:21
Bolger2

What happened when we had Pogba, Matic, Mic, Fred and the rest playing, what happened there? what's was the excuse then?

And then, why sack the Legend and smilling one if we can still finish top 10?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 19:29:02
We have proved we can play well and score we have seen it but a lot of the time it's to late. I don't get we havnt got the squad to compete. yes we have and we have shown it in parts.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed047's Note - every mid table average club can have moments when they play well and score mark.

If you had the squad to compete it wouldn’t be happening occasionally.

01 Dec 2019 19:48:15
An average side is what we are watching, an average manager, its a points and results business, 2 promoted sides, 2 points no disrespect to them but its Manchester United after all.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 20:10:04
Ibem pogba and matic are included in the above post.

Pogba may have shown glimpses of being a top player but he is no where near a top player.

Matic. His legacy went last season

Our best midfielder is mctominay.

As ed has put it we are a mid table club with mid table players.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 21:58:17
Yet we are still better than most of the teams we can't beat at home or away.

So, we need midfielders and a new manager. Because you can put OLE in Leicester right now and they will be 5 or 8 in 4 months.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 22:57:24
Ibem we ain't better or we would be beating them.

Maybe we should ride out the storm before adding another manager with another way of playing and another set of coaching staff.

How many more times do we need to replace the manager?

Did we not all call this in the summer.

We didn't sign any midfielders we never replaced lukaku?

What did you expect?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Dec 2019 23:49:43
Today is on Ole.
His selections are poor.
No game management.
Players shooting from every where.
Look totally uncoached.
Poor subs and timings as usual

Plenty of choice in Mid Field of going with a three at the back.

Not good enough at all from the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - The Milky Bars are on Ole :)

02 Dec 2019 09:47:05
He's about as useful as the Milky Bar Kid.

Looking forward to today's game. I hope we go at them from the start.

Andreas is a bloody paradox.
Deadball is good
Eye for a pass.

Then horrendous decision making, truly awful positional play, almost weakens the team being in it he's so poor at times.

I really think he about be sold. Levitt, Garner, Gomes all above him now.

Anyone else seen Jose smiling, laughing, and generally more positive, he even got off the bench to shout instructions!
Is this the same Jose who rocked up and wrecked Utd? I'm beginning to think we got the bad twin.

That's how it starts.

01 Dec 2019 15:13:36
Maybe if fans and players showed him love then he would still be here and not Ole who hasn't got a clue.

01 Dec 2019 15:27:34
Keep Jose happy and he delivers you a title. Don't and he'll light a match as he's leaving. We have no ambition to match Liverpool and City and the minute so Jose was never going to be the answer.

01 Dec 2019 16:03:30
He's a performer. Always arrives in a sea of smiles and bonhomie, making friends with ballboys and pretending to buy into the whole club history and ethos. I can't believe people can't see this for what it is.

Today's game against a newly promoted team should mean a win for us, 3-1 would feel about right, yet something is making me think 2-2 draw. Whatever, it will be interesting to see 3 players. Firstly McGinn who we supposedly had an interest in, decent player but not sure he would be worth the big money. Secondly, Grealish, interesting player who is creative, watched him last week, always looking for angles into the box behind defenders. Lastly, Mings, I commented on him in May when I watched him talk Tuanzebe through the play off game, looked commanding and worth £25m they spent. Should be a win today with two tough games coming up, many teams bunched up from 5th down, no excuses today.

Redman, i think it would be a 3-0 to us. Just get a feeling. Fred with the hat trick.

I better wake up now, too much dreaming for the day.

This is a huge game for everyone involved. If Ole is to survive the next few weeks, we need 3 points on the board today. There's comments like "Ole hasn't lost the dressing room". He may not have lost it but I would question the players commitment to him. We're constantly out fought week in week out. Teams smell blood in the water and we're normally really slow to react in games.

Let's see will the players react today. Their boss is under huge pressure with the next 4 games shaping the rest of his Man Utd career. 50/ 50s, second balls, tracking back, all the basics when you are in a dog fight are non existant in our team.

A good performance here will provide a great platform going into the Spurs game. They are on a high with Jose but are still vulnerable. City's heads may also be gone knowing that the lead they've surrendered to Liverpool is almost insurmountable.

If Ole can navigate the next 4 games ending with Everton and chalk up 9/ 10 points, I feel that may be the turning point for him as our manager. If we come up on his one year anniversary as our manager and we're languishing in 15th, then I think it's curtains for the man.

I know there's been a split in the community here and we're all down each other's throats the last few months. Remember, we all want the same thing, for United to be back on top. Let's hope the tide shifts for this group and we can get a bit of momentum going.

No excuses, nowhere to hide. Get the job done and then onto Spurs!
