I know Morrison had gone and we can finally put this saga to bed, just one question,I'm not denying the boy had talent but if he was that good why wasn't he given a chance to prove it by playing more game time in the first team,I mean rooney and fabregas were playing regular first team football at 18.one more thing pogba must stay been really impressed with what I've seen of this kid

What a great goal by frazer campbell. never really understood why we sold him, hes much better that Macheda and was better than Diouf, anyone have any news on Pogba ? He was great when he came on yesterday. Ed/Syd

My third post and a brief one.

We are looking for potential.

Have a watch of Petrucci, he looks a most interesting player who may well be ready sooner than many think.

Last nights game

I was surprised how easily Stoke capitulated but it was a straightforward win in the end.

Valencia had a really good game, I wonder how much his lack of fitness impacted him last season and the beginning of this. Certainly he shows the level of consistency that we could only dream of in Nani. I recall taking some notable stick for suggesting Valencia should be first choice on our right. We still need a left footed player who can be more consistent than Nani (If Bale is too expensive I would keep an eye on McClean at Sunderland)

Scholes had a good game, but Stoke let us play at the pace we wanted to, they gave Scholes space and time to play quarterback. You can guarantee Chelsea and other will not afford him that time and space. They dropped Jones back on Scholes for a short while and Scholes went a little quiet.

Everyone has got excited about Pogba, yes he showed some talent last night. He actually relished playing with better players than he was alongside in the cup game time he was given previously. Lets give him time , he wont shine every time, but he needs to keep getting a chance in front of Anderson now.

Yesterday was an interesting day in a way that many will not have picked up yet.

Three years ago City were starting their project, in other words throwing oil money at any players that would play for them on the basis of wages. It has developed a little since then and some good players have arrived. Now they are continuing to offer big money at the top end to expand their squad.

Three years ago I said to my good friend that I would wait for the first signs of cracks in citys famous youth set up, as the project would mean a lack of patience and reduced chances for the youth in their ranks. So yesterday it happened, we took a youth player out of citys elite youth squad. Veseli may or may not make it however the message will be missed by many, you want a chance come to united we will promote youth when you have no chance at city whilst they buy the next big player. So Veseli broke the mold and he isnt a 15 year old pre contract, he is older. Maybe he will make it with us but it is the principle that made me sit up.
So is it no value in the market or has SAF (and Wenger) been making a deliberate ploy of leaving extra room open for young players beyond normal whilst the talented kids become fed up at city and maybe Chelsea and Barcelona. If you dont think it happens at Barcelona then note Thiago is unhappy now.

This doesnt mean we shouldnt sign two notable talents but it does mean we may just have pulled a fast one in the youth market

I think we should all calm down a bit about Pogba,
Was great to see him on the pitch doing well but let's not get too carried away, give the lad a chance before we put too much pressure on him.
Do we really think he will get a game when Clev and Ando are back, personally I doubt it.
Would be good if he got some time in the Ajax games though.
Thought the Ginger Prince was majestic again, well done Fergie bringing him back he looks refreshed and up for it and is controlling the midfield with Carrick along side him.
Some lovely touches from Berba shame he missed the chance at the end, still think he gives us something different and am glad he hasn't gone even if Sydney the so called expert says he will be sold in every transfer window that comes up.

Sorry for posting an article from elsewhere however thought this to be well worth a quick read:

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has split from his agent as he does not believe he needs one.

Valencia has been in stunning form for United this season and has set up eight goals already, having recovered from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season.

The arrival of Ashley Young raised question marks over Valencia's future and Juventus have repeatedly been linked with a move for the Ecuador international in the past.

But Valencia, who has a contract at United for another three years, says he does not want to leave Old Trafford and as such, he does not require the services of agent Diego Herrera to help with any potential move away - with the split understood to be amicable.

The United star is so happy with life at Old Trafford he feels he does not need an agent to help broker any deals elsewhere and he told Argentina radio De La Red: "I do not want to move from Manchester I am very happy and so I separated from Diego (Herrera). I'm happy where I live and I enjoy being in Manchester every day."

---

Now who here does not love this guy more than before after reading this?

not only is in the form of his life the guy has dropped his agent as he has no need for one because he "does not want to move from manchester"

Toni for number 7 (pride, commitment and giving all for his team!)

Hey everyone, I know some of ye might disagree, but I think that Ravel Morrison was very smart to leave United (btw I support Man Utd) for West Ham. These are the reason's I think it was smart of him. Firstly, at West Ham, he will get game time which he will benefit greatly from. Secondly, since he is no longer with Man Utd, he will be without most of the pressure to perform. At Man Utd, he was under huge pressure, with Sir Alex saying he is the most talented player to come out of Uniteds academy, so he had to try and live up to his reputation. At West Ham, he doesn't have half as much pressure to perform. Thirdly, if he does play well, Man Utd surely have a buy back clause, so he still has the chance to play with Man Utd, and by then he could have improved significantly and grown in confidence. That way he will be able to handle the pressure.
Tell me what your opinion is on his transfer. I, personally, think it was a smart decision.

Next season I think Pogba will be used in the same capacity that we use Evans, he'll be there but if everyone's fit he'll be on the bench.

I think our surprise will be that Tunners becomes a first team regular. he's been quality this season for Peterborough and I know the gulf in class is massive but I think he'll have the same impact and transformation that we've seen in Cleverley, Welbeck, etc. he seems to be at same level as they were last season.

I think we've found our Roy Keane replacement, Finally.

When everyone else at Manchester United, including the coaching staff and the senior players, had given up on the controversial 18-year-old, the manager persevered.

Ferguson recognised the natural talent in Morrison’s boots and stuck with the attacking midfielder when most other players would have been shown the door a long time ago.

But even the United boss had to eventually concede defeat in his attempts to nurture a talent widely described as the best to emerge from the club’s Academy since Paul Scholes.

"The case with Ravel is well documented,” Ferguson said on Tuesday night. “I think he’s better out of Manchester to be honest with you. He’s got a great talent, but having to deal with that is very important."

That, in a nutshell, is why Morrison is now a West Ham player, having signed in a deal worth up to £1 million after United told him to find a new club with six months remaining on his existing contract at Old Trafford.

Few people at United have a good word to say about Morrison, who had a string of disciplinary issues within the club, not to mention the far more serious problems, including a 12-month referral order after pleading guilty to witness intimidation early last year.

Morrison spoke on Tuesday night of his desperation to play first-team football having grown frustrated with a lack of opportunities at United - but he would have had far more to show from his time at the club had he shown more application.

Instead, he made just three appearances - all in the League Cup - before leaving United, with the club not even including a buy-back clause in the deal.

Every day in training he was in contact with players who had reaped the reward for their hard work and sacrifices. But Morrison disregarded the prospect of medals, status and fame; instead getting dragged into a murky group of hangers-on in his hometown of Gorton.

While many modern Premier League players may present a ‘gangster’ image, few allow themselves to get caught up in the trouble that has followed - and you fear will continue to follow - Morrison everywhere he goes.

And that’s why Ferguson accepts Morrison needs to get out of Manchester, to remove the leeches who latched onto his status and wealth as a footballer at the most successful club in the country.

The East End of London may not be the most natural fit for a young man who needs a fresh start, but he is likely to be housed in leafy Essex and under Sam Allardyce - a good friend of Ferguson’s - there is a chance he could fulfill is potential and eventually be worth more than £30m.

The suggestion is that his entourage will not follow him down south. That’s a start, but nobody who has worked with Morrison would bet on Morrison staying out of trouble. He appears destined to become a wasted talent. The legitimate question is being asked: if Fergie can’t sort him out, who possibly could?

One thing is for sure, Morrison is not leaving United because he doesn’t have the ability on the pitch. He has all the ingredients to make a top Premier League player: physically powerful, elegant and skillful on the ball with superb vision.

Since the age of 14, Morrison has been billed as the next big thing to come out of United and he appealed to a wider audience with a series of excellent displays in the side that won the FA Youth Cup.

But he simply couldn’t be tamed, despite all the chances he was given. Whether it’s absenteeism, intimidating victims of street robberies or throwing his girlfriend’s phone out of a window; Morrison has showed no signs that he has learned.

His age, his circumstances, his difficult upbringing, were taken into account by the people at United - but their patience could only extend so far.

Morrison will earn around £20,000-a-week at West Ham after signing a three-and-a-half year deal. It could eventually be considered the most inspired transfer of this window - or it could represent the end of a career most who have worked with him consider to be doomed.

It got to the stage where it was never going to work out in the red of Manchester United. Even Ferguson will hope that the change of environment will do Morrison some good.

Delighted with everything that went on yesterday, it couldn't of been a much better day for the club. I can't say i'm surprised with the lack of dealings but i am pleased to see Scholes come back and to also see the young lad from Man City being pinched - ive seen him in one match before and he looked a talent and apparently he is popular in Switzerland.

I think we should now look forward to the Europa League as i think some of our young stars such as Pogba, Fryers, Keane and Amos will get some game time. I'm always looking forward to having a look at Christian Eriksen - he could be a real target for us. Its rare that someone from within the club speaks out about interest in a player, Meulensteen did that. I'd like him to come in in summer, that'd be sufficient.

I think the remained of this season should be an exciting one and i think we should all get behind the team.

Great match yesterday , congrats to the lads .
Scholes was one of our best players on the pitch, guetting him back looks like a masterstroke
carrick is transforming into the player we all knw he can
evans was good but the buying a new cb maybe shows saf wont be patient with the guy but good display whatsoever
pogba was wonderful ....next season he might become a regular
Valencia is by far our best performer and apparently he has sacked his agent cause he never wants to leave man utd . him and scholes are our only players without agents ...shows a lot about their loyalty.
The only thing that disappointed me was seeing morrison leaving . BUt we all know saf is not an idio, so i cant see him just selling our best talent in a while for 1 mil. selling him to west ham while other teams would have paid much more to get him looks like bad business but it isnt . A buy back clause might be included in his contract or at least if he is to be sold we would be the first option . Better be safe than sorry ( forlan anyone ? ) and hopefully in 2 years time we are goana have one of the best attacking midfielders in the premiership

Was really happy to see Pogba get some gametime last night, looks like he might be staying after all!

Since my dad cancelled MUTV membership :@ i havent really been able to keep up with the progress other reserve players such as w.keane, petrucci, lingaard etc.

Not really a rumour but who looks the most promising at the moment?

1) Pogba was absolutely brilliant, I think the Ravel situation has made him think that if he plays up he'll be off. but yeah, he was absolutely brilliant.

2) I wish Keane had got 5 or 10 minutes towards the end, just for him to show what he can do.

3) Everton were brilliant yesterday, There back 4 were very, very tight. and Gibson was just brilliant, his passing, shooting, everything seemed to be done to a high standard. I think the pressure and hate he got from 'united' fans really did get to him. still, I hope he goes down as one of the Everton greats.

pogba did really well when he came on last tonight. scholes ran the midfield, all our play went through him the whole game.. smalling didnt have the best of games going forward, and give the ball away quite abit if am going to be critical of anyone. Stoke where very poor though.
Chelsea next, they have a few injuries themselves, and with cole being sent off, maybe short on defensive cover, terry was injured last night, not sure if he is back sunday.
our injuries SAF is hopeful of nani, young and rooney back sunday. inject a bit of pace into our play. which i felt in the 1st half last night we lacked. 2nd half valencia attacked his man more.

How good was Pogba last night for the time he was on, he looked pacey, and delivered 2 very good crosses.

Surprisingly, Amos looked more confident than De Gea between the sticks.

Thanks to Darren Gibson. I wish he has a great future.

So who will we have back for the Chelsea game? I am not convinced Rooney or Nani will be back personally. I think we will go to the Bridge well understaffed. Giggs & Welbeck will 100% start. The back four picks itself at the moment. Carrick in next to Giggs, perhaps even a 3rd midfielder chucked in there? Jones if fit? It will not be Scholes after playing 90 minutes last night and Pogba may not be chucked into a game like this so early? Will Amos keep his place in goal? I think he might.

_________Amos
Small__Ferdy__Evans__Evra
___Beast_Carrick_Giggs
Toni_____Welbeck_____Park

Does anyone know if Lampard & Terry will return? Ca$hley & Ramires are definitely out. Will look forward to seeing Cahill & Luiz as the partnership, we would terrorise them and if it wasn't for being at the Bridge I would imagine a penalty or two? Is Essien back yet? I hear Mikel is injured, but he isn't much of a loss surely? I think Torres will have a point to prove, he always plays well against us and he will want to make up for his miss in the last fixture. I think the man to watch is Mata, if Jones is fit then I would give him the job of keeping close to Mata.

i'm quite sure you've heard about the IPL style football tournament in India..and players being auctioned for ridiculous prices according to me..thoughts?

Rudi {Ed001's Note - I haven't really had time to look into it myself, it should be interesting though. If it can help to improve football's standing in India, that has to be a good thing, surely? India has such a huge population, it would be great if they started to produce some really top class players.}

I for one am glad that the spoilt little brat Morrisson has been offloaded! He needs to get his head out of his butt and realise he is a footballer and nothing else. God help him if he pisses off big sam lol.

He would have been a liability in and out of the dressing room and Fergie quite rightly likes his players to remain out of the limelight. Good ridence!

Just been checking stats against Man United, and guess what ? ....Yes your right...LEAST number of penalties awarded against Man U in the last 13 years....ONLY eighteen in 13 years !! thats almost one every two years!!!! is it any wonder you won the league with outrageous facts like the following:

Penalties awarded against teams in the Premiership, since the start of the 98/99 season. Premiership games only:

1. Manchester United: 18 (8 home, 10 away) % at home: 44,4
2. Arsenal: 23 (8 home, 15 away) home %: 34,8
3. Chelsea: 29 (8 home, 21 away) home %: 27,6
4. Liverpool: 32 (11 home, 21 away) home %: 34,4
5. Middlesbrough: 37 (16 home, 21 away) home %: 43,2
6. Everton: 39 (16 home, 23 away) home %: 41
7. Newcastle: 44 (15 home, 29 away) home %: 34,1
8. Tottenham: 48 (18 home, 30 away) home %: 37,5
9. Aston Villa: 49 (16 home, 33 away) home %: 32,7

and in case you want to know, Howard Webb has awarded the greatest number of penalties to United, followed closely by Mike Dean....

and thats a fact !

If we are about promoting youth lets go with him and stop all this nonsense about players at the end if their careers. Give youth a chance. Good night for us tonight with City losing to Everton and Pogba showing exactly why many on this site are excited by the prospect of him wearing the red shirt in the coming years. It was the perfect game for him to come in because Stoke were dreadful, that's probably the least competitive I've ever seen Stoke in a PL game. Hopefully we can get a couple of the injured players back for the Chelsea game and maybe come away with a good result from Stamford Bridge for the first time in a while, hopefully without more of the shocking refereeing decisions which usually occur when we visit Chelsea.
