Wonder what you all made of Grealish's performance today against City. I know he is in a team which is not great and was heavily marked but I was not inspired by his performance. I do have my doubts as to how good he really would be for us if we signed him.

Buzzing about todays game, just hoping we see some desire and passion today. There have been so many false starts this year but no consistent run and other results mean we are still in contention for top 4.

Everton are improving but we have enough if we play to our potential. I'd also play Ighalo, he's well up for it.

I worry we will see another listless performance which is what has happened so often this season. Fingers crossed.

Since we signed Bruno the side have looked more focused and "at it" than before. Maybe its the boost of having a top class new team mate, maybe Bruno's leadership is pulling everyone else up, or maybe his skill set adds a key missing piece from our side.

I think Martial might still be injured, so there is a good chance Ighalo will start. His presence and ability to play with his back to goal was evident against Brugge. Fred, scoring twice and McTominay highlighted how we can spread goals around the team if we have a striker who can hold up the ball and bring others into play.

Sadly it might be a little bit too much to expect McTominay to play 2 games in 4 days when he's just back from injury. So I can see Matic coming back in, yet his form suggests this wouldn't be as big a drop off in quality as it would have been before Christmas.

If we can get a win against Everton it could be a springboard and further boost the players confidence. We have a tough run of games in March, and we will need the players to be on form and confident if we are to push for a top four finish. I think its very achievable now. We just need to find some balance and consistency.

That's three fear ajh.
How many opportunities have we fluffed to kick on.
I hope ighalo starts too.
Let's hope we can win to keep momentum going. I think they will try to and at least that would be a start.

I just hope Bailly starts. Lindelof made a lot of mistakes last week that could have cost us.

I think this is a crunch game. We’re playing much better with Bruno pulling the strings, but Everton will be a much bigger test. I hope Mata starts as he and Bruno can really bounce off each other. Even if Martial is fit, I would play Ighalo central and him on the left as James needs a rest.

Lindelof starts which has left me no confidence at all. He's a disaster at the minute.

We seem to have started with 4 central midfielders. I hope that the plan isn’t to play Bruno as one of the front three. Seems like a bad decision to change from a winning setup.

Tim ~ totally agree mate on Lindelof. Watching the last game I watched him closely and he made a lot of errors and his positioning was poor.

Danny - hoping for a diamond formation with those players. Matic at the base. Scott and Fred doing all the running and Bruno pulling the strings behind martial and Greenwood.

442 diamond by the looks of it. Matic at the base and Bruno at the tip. With Greenwood and Martial playing as a split front two.

In theory it should give us an excellent based to work from while getting key players on the pitch in areas they can have the most influence.

Interesting to see we have shifted our formation/ tactics. Shows there is an actual plan to try and beat a team that have won 4 of the last 7 times we have played them at Goodison Park, including a 4-0 defeat last season.

Let's see how this pans out.

Okay first half. In fact good apart from DDG howler. Get Henderson back. Second half we were utter pants.

As i keep saying, Ddg is a liability and he should've been sold last year. Romero is a very good gk, and Henderson is an excellent deputy.
But we gave Ddg a new contract and we're stuck with him. Another shambolic decision.

Yes you wonder who the driver was for the new contract?

Red Man, we have an incredibly good now, who should be given a chance, and we have a fantastic young gk on our books, who has been the best gk in the league this year. And we still gave Ddg a new contract, when it is clear his career is on the wane.
So you have to ask, why did we give him the contract? Btw, he wasn't playing great even before we gave him the contract and everyone blamed uncertainties over his future for his bad form. This has been ongoing for 2years. But it seems no matter what he does, he stays in the team.

Shocking, the Bayern fans should be ashamed of themselves. Besting Hoffenheim 6-0, bringing a banner out and the game was fortunate to not be abandoned.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was really bizarre, why do it then?}

01 Mar 2020 09:37:31
It was surprising and bizarre. All because Hoffenheim owner has got them through the German leagues.

Bayern battered Hoffenheim. It may have been more than 6-0 to Bayern if they hadn't brought that banner out.

In a way it's a shame it didn't get abandoned. It would have taught the fans a lesson, especially if it had cost them the winning the league.

{Ed001's Note - it is more than that. It is because he bought the club, after the Bundesliga changed the rules to allow someone to buy a majority share if they had owned the club for 20 years or more. All the rest, other than Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, are owned in the 50+1 model. That is where the members (the fans) own the majority of voting shares. Wolfsburg and Leverkusen are different because they were originally a company team for VW and Bayer AG respectively.}

Cheers ED001. I didn't realise that.

{Ed001's Note - there were more protests today, Union Berlin fans held up a banner with his face in crosshairs. Seems a bit much to, in effect, threaten a guy's life over this.}

It's obviously to try and keep it to football rather than turn into a business, and maybe they believe success reaps rewards not some sugar daddy. However this is too far.
