Gutted for the Under 21's to lose in the last minute. Great goal from their No 2 but he shouldn't have stayed on the pitch after his horrendous tackle.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

What a finish by ekangamene, looks a solid player but needs to push on and show he's progressing.

Oh goodness gracious. we're back to KLOOT expecting money for nothing. Manchester United sets its season ticket prices at the level that will maximize revenue and it will be forever thus in the era of billion dollar clubs. so get over it. United is not a not for profit or charitable trust dispensing high quality footballing entertaintment at reasonable prices to people like KLOOT who seem to believe that the chance occurance that was their birth in the greater Manchester metropolitan area entitles them to watch world class football at rock bottom prices.

Pepe.

The idea that United were struggling before the Glazer's turned up is laughable. Yes, the PLC were scared of maximising the earning capacity of the club, but they were debt free. They won 8 titles in 12 years, a European Cup and 5 FA Cups in 14 years.

You rightly talked up the income coming from ignorant plums from all over the world chasing overpriced merchandise. Those that followed the club through the generations when United didn't have a pot to piss in have been sacrificed because they can no longer afford to attend because of your lovely Florida compatriots business plan.

So when you talk up people like Joel and Bryan Glazer and suggest that they deserve to pocket money partially designed to pay off the debt, walk a mile in a United fan's shoes when he can no longer afford to go to games let alone take a son or a daughter, as happened in generations past.

Then you might understand why people get piles reading crap like this.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

But you will be one mile closer to old trafford

Agree1 Disagree3

Was thinking of how to articulate a reply to the original post, but that'll do nicely KLOOT.

It's bad enough having the debt, Pepe - we don't need a defence of it rubbed in our faces, thanks.

Agree8 Disagree0

I agree with kloot as i'm not in a position financially to follow the team I started to support in 1962
, secondly after watching that awful performance against reading not to mention cup game against reading couple of wks ago and let's not forget the chelsea cup tie lol where united managed a whole eleven minutes of decent football all down to lack of quality in the squad nothing to do with fatigue, oh but I expect to be put right by people with the madrid performance, suppose 25% success rate not too bad,

Agree2 Disagree4

Well said Stevie. Unfortunately, the Glazer groupies will now appear and tell us what a good job they have done

Agree6 Disagree2

Well said kloot mate loved going old trafford as a kid on my dads shoulders ha! Hopefully when I have a littlen of my own I can do the same.

Agree6 Disagree0

I've never commented on the debt before AJH, because short of buying them out myself or supporting another team, there's not a lot I can do.

It's bad enough we have to live with it, but I hate hearing people coming on here, actively trying to justify it.

Please don't come on here giving us an economics lecture, and attempting to defend the indefensible.

People like Pepe, you may see us as just another business project - that's your loss.

Agree2 Disagree1

Did not relise SAF was a glazer groupie

Agree2 Disagree1

What do you want him to do, Boarshawred?

It's easy for us as supporters - we can give off all we like about it, but SAF is employed by the club and has given nearly 30 years of his life to it, building it up from the bottom, and giving us all the success we have had.

Do you want him to throw his toys out of the pram, and say, 'F**k it, I'm off'? And then what?

Fergie's the arch pragmatist - unless you start messing with his team selections, he couldn't give a sh!t who's in charge. He's only concerned with the minor matter of managing the greatest club in the world, and living up to the expectations he's created over the years, for the likes of you, who sit there now making snide remarks about him.

Perhaps you wanted him to make a stand, and leave. I'd be very careful what you wish for.

Agree7 Disagree0

Yes maybe you could be right like he says the glazer are the best owners we could have hoped for, its just i'm waiting for someone to second that, well it won't be me

I'm hoping we play a fairly strong side against sunderland. I know we have the replay coming up which we could do without but that's our own fault. Think we'll be up for that though try and knock their confidence before the league clash. Can see a couple of people being rested after internationals.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I certainly hope so, obviously I want to win but I want to help them on their way out of the league.

Agree7 Disagree1

We better play a strong team after last season, I don't know if Fergie and the players have forgotten but I and all united fans haven't i'm sure of that. If only we were away to them on the final day this season to have a good laugh as they drop into obscurity.

Brendan81

Agree5 Disagree0

Must beat Sunderland and help them on the way out of the league
Nomidfield

Agree5 Disagree0

Lets not concern ourselves with the problems of sunderland in there present position, worry about our recent awful performances

Boarshawred

I thought RED_SKY was the nost negative person on this site, but he's not on much now, and when he was, he recently admitted this season was a pleasant surprise.

Then NoMidfield came along with his one line portents of doom, but even he's lightening up a bit recently.

I think that leaves you, my friend as officially the most depressing aul bugger on here :)

Agree7 Disagree0

Yes i'm hoping things will improve for me when we start putting together a couple of good performances

De Gea told Onda Cero. "I am very happy in Manchester and it will be my club for many years. "

The Madrid-born goalkeeper came through the academy at Atletico Madrid and admitted he would like to return to the club sometime in the future - though his sole focus for now is playing well for United.

"I'm very happy in Manchester and I have a contract, " De Gea continued.

"But with the passage of time returning home is nice. I would always like to return because the love that they gave me there was special. "

Good to see David De Gea in the Spain squad. The other two goalkeepers also included are Valdes and Reina, so DDG is the most likely to start ahead of the others. It will be good experience for him, and if he impresses the boss he could even start ahead of Casillas when he recovers from his injury!

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Why is DDG more likely to start ahead of the other 2?

RedDub

Agree4 Disagree6

Because he's better.

Agree16 Disagree7

Well let's face it between Reina and De Gea its no contest, one's top of the league and the others mid table.

Valdes is made to look better than he his because of the 10 players in front of him, especially the midifeld. If he played for Oviedo or Valladolid he'd be nowhere near the Spain squad.

Agree7 Disagree1

DDG is certainly not better than the others, how ridiculous!
POTENTIALLY of course, but slow down.

Whistler.

Agree1 Disagree22

Currently he's better!

Agree16 Disagree0

Still better period

Whistler

Valdes is rubbish and reina is hit and miss. DDG is a better keeper especially how spain play. Non of them are great coming out on crosses so from a shot stopping point of view he is by far better.

Im not even entertaining this conversation.

Whistler.

Agree0 Disagree8

I remember seeing a stat before the chelsea v barca 2nd leg that said valdes saves less than 50% of the shots on his goal, in that semi final as a whole chelsea had 6 shots on target and scored 3. Valdes is an extremely average keeper in my opinion

Just a thought, and yes admittedly this might cause some reaction.
Reading the Daily Mail story on Yaya Toure this morning, (yes I know the Mails reputation isn't the best, although it quotes the sun, which in turn quotes his agent)

If he was to leave City, and the price was reasonable would he be the sort of player that UTD would : A, be interested in? B, would fit what we need?

Thoughts?

Sambo

Believable2 Unbelievable16

He's currently on £220,000 a week, he will be 30 by next season and will want a 3-4 year deal I for one would not be willing to pay that for someone who hasn't had the best season and not to mention is a city player. 4 years ago maybe but now? Not a chance mate

Agree11 Disagree1

He is precisely what we need but I wouldn't go near him due to the cost (transfer fee and wages), his age, the fact he goes to the AFCON and I'm not sure he'd be 100% committed TBH. A definite no-no.

HBadger

Agree9 Disagree0

No most definitely not. We need a younger player or 2 to come in, not a soon to be 30 year old on ridiculous wages. There are plenty of great options out there.

Brendan81

Agree4 Disagree0

More to the point I don't see City selling to us.

His wages are too big and given his age and fee the whole package would be a no go.

I'd rather find the next Yaya then sign the current one.

Agree4 Disagree0

As good as Toure is, he is all about money. His agent is trying to bully city into a massive contract, and if they are stalling over his demands there isn't a hop in hell that we will pay it.

Danny Pughnited

Agree2 Disagree0

If he uses the Fifa ruling to buy out his contract he'd be on a free, but I still don't think we'd pay the wages he'd be wanting. {Ed002's Note - Don't go there - it is nothing like as simple as that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - I expect the actual process for a player trying to but out his contract is very difficult otherwise we would see a lot of players doing it to force a move. Is it as simple as Yaya's agent makes it sound?

Adz {Ed002's Note - No, it is far from simple.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather have wanyama he is only 21 and he is a machine

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes because Yaya and his gent of an agent would bring tranquility to our club. Begiristein and co are trying to lower salaries and introduce more performance based payments and its obviously not well received.

Supasub

Agree0 Disagree0

We had a new yaya but we decided not to play him and he went to be a star at juventus. Pogba!

Do you watch Juve play and see how they are using him?
