in tomorrow's papers we're linked with baines for five million. Now i know certain people on here will complain but to me it makes sense. First of all five million is nothing out the budget. Indeed we would get that for berba so it doesn't affect the budget at all leaving money available for strengthening other area's. Second we get a good player very experienced in this league. And we still have evra as well for europe and other games. But it means evra could be rotated for the first time in three or more years. Which means he gets rested and also challenged. Third baines gets a year to settle in before evra leaves. Remember fabio going on loan he'd come back as number two to baines.

Not related to United, but did anyone watch today's El Clasico? Coentrao(sp) was great dint let a single cross in by Alves who i think is great in putting in dangerous crosses and Messi dint look much dangerous. Good goal by Ronaldo and a great assist bt Ozil hope he's coming to us in the summer.

Defence splitting passes like that is why I hoping Ozil does come to old Trafford, he's been amazing tonight all over the pitch. ( hate to say it can't see it though)

I don't really have a problem with the Liverpool fans coming on here. They're obviously just masochists who enjoy constantly being reminded how many Premiereship trophies we've won, how far ahead we are in the league, how tactically inept their manager is, how poor their squad is, how much they paid for that crop of mediocrity, etc, etc.

And let's face it, they probably do less harm on here, if we left them all by themselves on their own site who knows what fantastical conspiracies they'd conjure up if we left them alone for too long...

I try not to pay too much attention to who we are linked with in the press, however the general consenus is an attacking midfielder. This is possibly what we are going for, perhaps the odd journalist know what they are talking about and do have a bit of inside information. But i was thinking, a central midfield signing i think is really unlikely.

Think about how many we have in there, Carrick will continue to be important, Cleverly will be great if he stays fit as would Anderson. Fletcher may come back well and return to his box-2-box role. Scholes is pure class and SAF likes Giggs. Furthermore if Pogba stays we have another 'first team player' in there in SAF's own words. Tunnicliffe and Petrucci may also be given exposure. This leaves us with up to 9 central midfielders (as well as Jones who can do a job). Now, who out of that lot will leave? Maybe Anderson, but that seems unlikely to me. I think SAF knows they will come good, a top partnership will arise next season (like Carrick and Scholes). This is why i don't see a central midfielder coming in, apart from someone young, maybe a deal for Kovacic, McCarthy, Rodwell or Barkley could be what the boss is looking at.

I'm not expecting a busy summer in terms of incomings, we will stream line the squad, by the end of the summer i would say we will have a wonderfully balanced squad, thats for sure. Up to 12 players, all capable of playing for the first team/pushing for a place may leave with probably 2 or maybe 3 coming in.

The likely scenario is, Nathaniel Clyne coming in for defensive cover, an attacking midfielder (i'm praying for Ozil), maybe a young striker like Henriquez and loan him back to his club and then perhaps sign the promising Jack Butland from Birmingham. I still think that SAF is eyeing a young center back, we went for Varane in summer, we allegidly big for Nasastic (sp?) in January and also contacted Inigo Martinez from Sociedad.

Just a few thoughts, but i think these ideas are more likely than a summer of Hazard, Martinez and Higuain coming in like a few people are saying.

As for any decent players not doing what Luis did. Paul Scholes against Fulham at Craven Cottage, does this ring a bell? The irony is, that you still went on to lose that game. lol lol

Yet again Bliar, I have to tell you that Scholes never came out and condoned his actions. He never came out and said he will do it again. Suarez is a cheat. My god, if you want to know the kind of player he is, he bit a fellow player in the neck! Like a f**king vampire! What about this:

The man is a disgrace. Don't ever mention Scholes and Suarez in the same sentence again.

Newcastle are playing some very nice football. They are very worthy candidates for the CL. I bet Enrique is regretting his move.

Having to watch the 'Goal of the Season' video for the third time on the official website, it's so hard but i'm leaning towards Nani's goal vs Man City in the Community Shield as the build up play is simply beautiful, and the fact that it's against City makes it even more amazing. What's everyone thinking?!

Can i ask a serious question why does Blair Mayne spend more time over here than on his own page?

I know he's obsessed etc but come on, you dont even post on the LFC site so why post over here spurting bullsh1t?

This is my last word on diving ladies

"It's got to the stage where he has even told us: 'Don't try and stay on your feet if you're in the box and get a slight kick," Stam revealed in his autobiography being serialised in the Mirror.

"He wants us to copy other sides we face in European competitions and go down to win a penalty.
"Far too often English players seem determined to keep running after getting a whack on the leg, even though the chance to get a shot in has gone.
"I don't think diving has caught on with the English youngsters yet, as their fair-play mentality stops them from taking a tumble.
"Coaches at academy levels are honest and would stamp out that kind of cheating from their team.
Stam says that he does not advocate diving, as he is often penalised as a result of a forward going to ground under one of his challenges.
"I admit to becoming frustrated by the frequency of diving in the Champions League.
"Players from Holland and Scandinavia aren't divers, but those from Spain and Italy go down far too easily for my liking.
"Even players in Germany are used to taking a dive. In all those countries it looks like they have been brought up with it since their schooldays.
"It's tricky for me to take a dive, though. If I fall down under the slightest kick, I'm going to lookstupid falling down like I've been shot"

I find it quite amazing if not amusing that yesterday i posted something really positive about some Manchester United supporters who have been doing something great for 25 years and it doesn't get included yet if some plastic scouser sends in some abuse about United it always gets put in. Makes me question some of the motives of certain Ed's. I AM KLOOT {Ed002's Note - Why do you bother constantly bleating about the Editors? If you had a post cut again there would have been a reason. You have accused me of being biased toward Liverpool before but have failed to substantiate those claims.}

This how I think/want the man united squad will be next season. Defence: rafael,Evans,Vidic/rio,evra Mid:Valencia,scholes/cleverly,pogba/Lucas moura,young/nani. Strike: Rooney, welbeck/hernandez but I think we need a world class finisher like cavani...

Given an option between Sahin-Ozil and Benzema-Higuain who would your choices be, availability not being an issue ?

I would go for Sahin and Higuain.

Ozil is a brilliant player no doubt but i have my doubts about his stamina and fitness whereas Sahin is as good as Ozil has an awesome free-kick and is left footed.

Benzema is too similar a player to Rooney so I would pick Higuain for his finishing.

Haha £50m a few years down the line. No chance. Unlikely that both will make it never mind turn out to be of any value.

Just wanted to give a mention to Rio. Jonny Evans has rightly been given lots of plaudits for covering for Vidic this season, but Evans is a far better player with Rio beside him. It has been a big plus that Ferdinand has been largely injury free since Vidic has been out.

I have read the posts on "divers" in the game on this site.

This is the reality...football is a "game" that teams must win at all costs.

At this moment in time, it really doesn't matter if your team wins a trophy by cheating.

At least SAF has publicly admonished Ashley Young for his antics, and United supporters have declared through social media sites, their unacceptance of this behaviour.

This is more than any other manager I can think of that has dared to criticising their own player for this type of behaviour...but this doesn't mean Ashley Young the only "diver" does it?

The reality is that Luis Suarez is probably the biggest cheat in the PL, but is lauded as a great hero by those who support his club.

Recently Kenny Dalglish came out and suggested Andy Carroll just "fell over" at Newcastle.

There appears to be no desire to condemn their behaviour at this club!

Recent examples of Dzeko and Johnson diving to win penalties have been largely ignored by a press, shall we say impressed by City's finances.

Roberto Mancini convenient forgets this at his press conferences (like he forgets saying that "it is impossible for Tevez to play for City again").

Most supporters conveniently point to cheats at other clubs, like I have, but they are present at ALL clubs.

Did you see Drogba v Barca, his antics were clearly a pre-determined tactic to stop the flow of a superior team. If this is football, then what is the point? Well the point is, win at all costs!

It is easy to blame money, owners, coaches or whoever else for this ever increasing WWF approach to what was a man's game, where physical pain was an embarrassing sign of weakness rather than a tactical advantage.

So let me share this dirty little secret...if fans started booing their own players, showing that they will not accept the nonesense the likes of Young, Drogba, Suarez and many, many more serve up every week, it would eventually stop, but at the end of the day, if you are honest, winning at all costs is acceptable to the vast majority of fans.
