don't know why people are getting so worked up about a lack of activity in this window. Its mainly the relegation fodder who buy this month anyway. I can only think of four buys we've ever made in january: andy cole, saha, vidic and evra. And announced the smalling deal. Top players usually are not available in january and we should only be interested in top players.

Good to see that Chris Eagles ripped apart Liverpool, should of paid 20 million for him instead of Downing!

Fergie is clearing out all the deadwood and below par performers this winter bringing in 1/2 youngsters, continuing to the summer but hoping to bring in a new generation of top players then and complete his rebuilding exercise......

"Park being useless"

Don't think park is useless, hit some good form before he was off to asia. Linked up well with anderson cleverly in preseason. Think park will be useful in the style were trying to achieve. But in the midfield muddle we have it's obvious we need it settled so giggs and park can be a compliment to that. Bet a dollar that we'll be singing parks praises a few times before the end of the season.Plus eds the reply to not working. Can't get involved with others posts. Is it something to do with the phone being symbian? Thanks

..constantine.. {Ed007's Note - Sorry it took so long, I was waiting on the geek squad to get back to me. I didn't know what symbian meant!! lol. It possibly is that but we don't have one to test on, sorry mate.}

shappy i think cleverley would be better suited to the number 8 shirt which in itself could be vacant come summer. The 11 could go to young and move someone like pogba down to 18. Then that just leaves 7 & 9 to fill. Preferably new signings but maybe move valencia to the 7 not sure on that . Not sure on welbeck on the 9 either.

Right the other day people were surgesting that we will buy a coupke of marquee signings in the summer to fill the likely emptied no.7 and no9 but no one thought that in all likelyhood no.11 will be vacant as well. Now as much as i'd like a big signing i doubt there will be one, we didn't sign anyone last year as we didn't wanna hinder the youngster a year on when they are closer to the first team whats changed? whoever we bring in would hinder the youth more now.

The no.7 shirt holds a certain kind of magic around Old Trafford more so than the no.11 and no.9 even though these are important shirts. To me the no.7 shirt inspires a certain kind feeling within all reds, it stands for everything about our club, the work ethic, the cavalier style, the never say die attitude and the faith in youth(Beckham and Best). So for me whoever gets the shirt should stand for and represent the same values, the player i feel is most deserving of the shirt is Tom Cleverley. A talented hard working lad who has come through our youth system and has all the attributes we look for in a no.7 at Old Trafford.
I also think Danny Welbeck should have either the no.11 or the no.9 with the other going to a new signing.

Giving these important shirts to graduates of the academy would show the other youth players what can be achieved if you put the work in. We have always valued youth at our club and maybe its time to reward some of them.

Haven't seen any of the L'Pool match, but i bet they reckong they PLAYED AMAZING, but were unlucky - probably three sets of baloons deflected there shots. And the one time Carrol got a shot on target a Bolton fan threw something at it to block it. Can't wait to see what Dogleash will buy in the summer, probably Danny Graham, Richard Dunne and some other muppet. Liverpool's always a laugh!

Liverpool fans calling Benitez. Last season they were calling for Dogleash. Still obsessed with achieving the glories of yesteryear. But still oblivious to the fact that their former heroes can do nothing with the current crop of mediocre players. Next year will be ...

everyone raves about morrisson, pogba and to some extent even tunnicliffe.but one player whose name doesn't often crop up is that of petrucci.he is the captain of our reserves side.and is a good passer of the ball too.and he is already 21 or 22, if i am not wrong.

Anyone else agree that we should be playing De Gea instead of Lindegaard?

De Gea's mistakes have been poor, but surely it hinders his development having him sitting on the bench. He's not suddenly going to become a world class keeper, which i believe he can be. Lindegaard is an ok keeper, but nothing special.

Why pay £18m for a no.2 keeper, or was it another bad goalkeeping buy?

personally don't see us getting both but can see the reasoning..both had some premiership experience..plus side of rodwell is he can cover defence.

trouble though is even the everton fans think he's stalled. Can you believe it I read a fan saying sell him cause we got gibson! And a few agreed with him! Go on gibby.

Question is how many midfielders is enough? Wouldn't mind hearing people give a figure. How long will carrick be of use? Will fletch come back? Will anderson raise his game? How long till pogba and co are intergrated? Giggs will be gone park will be used less and less, players lose form get injured. So how many is enough? But if barkley is as good as a rooney second coming then i'm sure we got room for him. Better with us than a rival. ..constantine..

why do people want rodwell and barkley? we already have a lot of promising young players at the club, what we need is an established experienced player someone like (dare i say) sneijder/ozil/modric/martinez/ those are the sort of players we should be after, we're manchester united for fluff sake, we should be after the best players, not some kids who hardly get any playing time at their current clubs, like i said we already have young players with bags of potential, morrison, pogba(if they sign) tunncliff, cleverley,jones...

In the last two weeks the only things we seem to have done appears to be arguing over what the issue really is with Pogba and Ravel plus pushed a late thirties retiree to come out of retirement in view of the paucity of our midfield. Mind bogglingly Sir Bobby Charlton applauded that. This actually brings me to a point. I read several books whilst away not least a Biography of SAF by Patrick Barclay and one key word to feature is that of loyalty.
SAF expects loyalty to be absolute within the club. Loyalty is something he was brought up with and is a theme of his. Therefore the questions about why he supports the Glazers could be answered by saying he is practicising what he preaches and expects. He has to be loyal to the Glazers regardless of whether it is true or not otherwise be accused of displaying double standards.

Michael Carrick. Love him or hate him? I personally love him and here's why. To all those that don't really know alot about the football game, Mr Calm and Composed is a vital cog in the united engine. We have won 4/5 titles since he joined the club, including his first season at the club after a dark spell, and this season He has been absent from 4/5 losses we have experienced (city, Basel, palace, Blackburn).
The point I'm trying to make is that our central midfield problem is due to the fact we don't have anyone that compliments Carrick. Replacing him is not the best option but finding someone for him to play with is the key. I believe this is why the central midfield issue is still yet to be resolved and why Pogba and Morrison havnt been given a proper chance yet caus rightfully so Fergy just doesn't trust te team without Carrick.
What are your thoughts people (eds included), but for me Carrick should be one of the first choices on our team sheet tomorrow.

All this fake crap with Morrison an wellbeck is just the glazers pr trick. They will make a big announcement nxt week sayin Morrison and progba an wellbeck have all signed new deals. We all this it's great but in reality we don't spend any major money in another transfer window and the team doesn't improve. Very clever I'd say. All we do is line their pockets an pay off their debt. They give nothing bac at all. No new names at OT I promise you. No inside info just a realistic red. Sorry ppl.
