what do you guys think of jose callejon?
He is primarily an attacking midfielder but he can play out wide too.
He is very skillful and has a good eye for goal, he's scored a few goals for madrid this season and his not even a regular starter.
I think he would cost around £25m. The only problem is that he is begining to play regularly for madrid which could mean he is unlikely to be sold, atleast not for a reasonable fee.

Krasic for 10m ?
Thats peanuts for a player like him.
We you can buy a Bebe for 7m, why not Krasic ?
Valencia, Nani, Krasic, Young - we'll never be short on wings.

Finally Rooney got a goal from long range, he had been trying that for a long time. Now I just wish that he gets a goal with the chip shot (has been trying that for a couple of seasons now) then he'll be fully satisfied and will give even more to the game.
Other point is I think we must not get our hopes too high on winning the league this season. I feel luck is just not on our side this year with all the injuries happening one after the other. On the other hand City players dont even get out for a week with any sort of injury. Maybe its not our year. Anyways we should forget about world class players and just look for players like Rodwell who can cover up for the injuries.

United are 2.0 up, both goals scored by Diouf, both fantastic goals apparently. I have also heard there are scouts watching him and Macheda at the game, not sure what teams they are representing.

Vidic - Season
Fletch - Season
Jones - 6 weeks
Young - Three weeks
Twins - January
Clevs - January
Ando - February
Ferdy - 1/2 weeks?
(phisioroom)

Any chance of Fergie spending a decent amount on younger / unknown talent to help fill in the squad? I know we looked fantastic yesterday, but dang, we're dropping like flies. Maybe we should invest in 2 or 3 players as almost an insurance policy in case more injuries arise. I fear if the injuries continue at this rate we're in for some trouble.

Rodriguez's agent, Silvio Sandri, revealed: "The only thing I can say is that the Patito will leave Independiente to play in Europe when the market reopens.

"There are many interested clubs and he feels prepared to embrace a new challenge.

Could he be coming to us !!!!

We have scouted him several times and it would fit in with our transfer policy....

Him and Rodwell (looks more likely than Martinez :( ) would be a great bit of business...

also signing Rodwell would give us extra cover at CB whilst Jones is out.

Pretty sure Santos have agreed a deal in principle with Barca for Neymar, £10mill down payment and Barca can take him any time between summer-2015

What's the deal with Moutinho? I dont see how he hasn't moved to a bigger club yet the lad is pure class. Any interest from us at all in the past Ed's?

RedDevil92 {Ed001's Note - I believe there has been interest in him in the past, but it has never amounted to anything, no idea why though, he does look the kind of player Fergie likes.}

Anyone else think we should sign Neymar and Ganso, or at least try? Would be nice to see the £80 million Ronaldo transfer fee put into some young quality players! Also they have played together for a while now, and could combine very well indeed, with Neymar being able to play Wide left, right or up top, and ganso being the midfield boss we have missed, he has shown glimpses of keane and scholes!

If we were to let Macheda, Berbatov, Diouf and Owen to leave then we would have just the three strikers - they are all suseptible to injuries as is anyone and we know that SAF has liked to have 4 strikers on his books.

So this is a list that i think could be targets:

Cavani
Llorente
David Villa
F. Torres
E. Torres
Gomez
Huntelaar
Hulk
Munian
Rhodes
Higuain

Out of that selection who would you most like to see in a United shirt, and who is most realistic? I think all of these players could be got at if we wanted to, so i have tried to keep the list reasonably realistic.

For me i would have Cavani or David Villa, one of those two would be the dream. But i wouldn't be surprsied to see Torres or Huntelaar who i would be equally delighted to welcome to Old Trafford!

It is time for us to take a little time to look at what Sir Alex is achieving at this moment. With a lack of serious investment and an injury ridden squad that were humiliated against City. He has dusted them down and got them to go on a run that sees us hanging on to their coat tails and bringing down the goal average. People on this site know that I am not above criticising Sir Alex for his questionable transfer dealings, but for man management he is without equal. Who can honestly say with this squad and the way City have been playing that they believed we would still be so close at this point of the season. He has got the players giving every last drop of sweat for the red shirt and also showing quality when required (Berba and Carrick) I take my hat off to you Sir Alex you are performing a miracle and keeping the pressure of our beloved owners. Look at what Liverpool have spent and what their supposed messiah has done for them Nothing. Let us rejoice this christmas for we are Manchester United and our manager is Sir Alex. RAINFISHTROMBONE

It really annoys me how stupid footballers are. The amount of Uruguayan's who have come out and condemned the actions of the FA and Evra, saying the word is used with lots of their friends and no harm is meant.

Firstly, you are in another culture where it isn't acceptable to highlight the colour of someone's skin as a nickname. You're a grown up now be professional and adapt.

Secondly, you are not friends with Evra. If he is offended by something you say regarding his skin colour that is his to interpret. I can call my friend who is of African decent something slightly derogitory in good cheer because we are friends. If i said that to a stranger, I would fully expected a punch in the mouth!

I don't understand how people are complaining, ok maybe 8 games is a bit excessive for something that could possibly of been a misunderstanding and clashing of cultures, but to actually try and play down the idea of it being an issue of contention is farcical.

Some footballers literally are so wrapped up in their own values, ideas, beliefs and cultures that their actions trump anyone else's. It's ridiculous!

SAF has never been a abig fan of the Jan market. He will only jump in if any player he wants is being poached by someone else and he is in the risk of losing that player. As of now I cant see any of the potential targets leaving in jan except for maybe Rodwell..

Van Persie has been immense all season and has scored 16 league goals in 17 league appearances. Rooney started off well, went to sh1t and has recaptured his form over the past few games and has still managed 13 league goals in 16 league appearances. You wouldn't put it past Rooney to score bags of goals in the next two fixtures too. Rooney, Nani & Valencia all coming into form at the same time with Cleverley & Anderson set to return. We could see a lot of goals in the next couple of games. Anderson is useless when playing in a game where he has to get back and defend, but when he can stay in attack he can be pretty lethal. I can see him playing against Blackburn after destroying them last season.

If you watched match of the day tonight, you may have noticed the ex-Liverpool player, and Kenny Dalglish team mate Alan Hansen make a reference to "coloured players" twice. I'm not sure what colour he was refering to!

Expect next week the other MOTD presenters to wear Alan Hansen tee-shirts, and give a press release suggesting Alan's a mate and he's not a racist!

You honestly could not make this sh*t up!

I think our last few performances go to show what a difference a bit of confidence and a bit of form make to the players. It's easy to pick out players and say they aren't good enough when a team is underperforming. Just recently our whole team has been out of sorts, and that frustrates people and people call for players to be sold and an overhaul of the squad. I'd like to think the last few games have shown that players like Carrick, Evans, and an aging Giggs are still good enough for the squad. We need to strengthen for sure and for that some players must be got rid of but for the only real 'deadwood' are players like Kusczack and Gibson in my opinion. Not Carrick, Park, etc. They are players that could make way, sure, but are not 'deadwood'.

I stand by my opinion that we need maybe 3 or 4 players in the next two windows to have a great young squad.
