It's like a broken record. Liverpool start season quite well, brag how good they are.

Have a good game in middle of season against top team. Maybe this IS their year. We are finished. Hoofball.

Liverpool lose to bottom of table team. Crickets.

Perfect day in which United didn't kick a ball. Sanchez signs, and Liverpool lose to a relegation candidate. Better still there shiny new record signing set up the goal they lost by.
Whole new defence same old problems. Lol.

Welcome Alexis Sanchez

He is a very very good player, proven in the league, works hard, has plenty of skill and scores goals. I am glad we went in this direction and not a PSG reserve

Watching the video of him on the pitch reminded me of when Cantona arrived, also mid season, he too stuck his chest out and looked like he knew this was his moment. Let's see the impact but players like Rashford and Martial must learn from him. It will make the Champions League and FA cup interesting and hope we can make City sweat a little bit at least in the league

I talked about ambition previously and this in itself is good, not enough to bring the title however, it is a very positive statement. Whilst some will try and cloud the players decision saying it was about money, do not underestimate the pull of the club, the shirt and the manager. If we show the same ambition in summer, next season could be very interesting.

The owners have still to show the ambition needed to put us back at the top, this is a step, a big step, but don’t kid yourself it is the last step. More like we should expect from a club trying for the top and now I expect a new contract for the manager.

It's finally done!

What an amazing piece of business.

Not just because he's a fantastic player but for the statement it sends to the rest of England and Europe.

We will not go away without a fight, they will not cast us into the shadows, this City remains Red and is a timely reminder to Pep and their new money that one good season cannot undo our rich traditions, proud history and we can also flex our financial might when needed!

I think this was a major mistake by City! They may feel being 12 points clear at the top and with an array of attacking talent in their squad that he wasn't worth the fight but they have missed the bigger picture. We needed him more! He'll improve us more, we now become a different animal. To get a player of Sanchez's quality in the summer would have cost upwards of £100m in transfer fee alone and we'd still have to pay similar wages on top! Not only that but who's available? Possibly Greizman but he looks set for Barca. Maybe Bale but that transfer has always looked complicated, he's not much younger than Sanchez and has a questionable injury record. Ronaldo is just a pipe dream and let's be honest his best days are now possibly behind him and any potential financial package to bring any of those players to Old Trafford would be eye watering! The same can be said of City.

An added bonus of this transfer is that he is eligible for the Champions League. If we get Bailly fit and Sanchez hits the ground running then surely we become dark horses. Anything can happen in a cup competition and in Sanchez we now have a player not only with proven quality but a player that is prepared to work hard and track back when needed. He should be a perfect Jose player!

Under Jose we have re signed Pobga, pickpocket Chelsea for Lukaku, stolen Matic and now seduced Sanchez! His ambition has forced the board to dig deep and in fairness they have backed their man and delivered. I questioned their ambition and I'm glad to say that I'll be eating some humble pie.

Our squad is slowly evolving and falling into place. Now it's time to deliver!

Yer red man after 90 mil on lukaku world transfer record on pogba .
Second in the league going well in the CL just pulled off the biggest deal of Jan.
To make Sanchez the highest paid player in the league.
Added to the fact they got Jose in the first place .

Funny you used the fact city where going to sign Sanchez as a sign they where ambitious just a week ago . Yawn yawn yawn.

Glad we have signed Sanchez, he should give us something extra going forward, to go with a great defensive unit at the back.

Hope Miki fails miserably at Arsenal, then re-signs for Dortmund or another oversees club and tears it up again. He has all the ability in the world, but wasn't a great fit in this Mourinho side. Good luck after you leave Arsenal son! :-)

Mine would be

1. 95 96 the emergence of e class of 92 helped in the start of Fergies empire though he had won e league twice before.

2. 98 99 No reason needed. Name on the trophy. still tear up thinking

3. 07 08 Cristianos brilliance, Hargreaves free kick vs Arsenal, Nanis thunderbolt vs Spurs, scholesy goal vs Barca, . Terrys miss!

92-93, first title in 26 years.
93-94, first double and showed it wasn’t a fluke.
98-99,stunning football, a fairytale season, an incredible treble

It’s easy to forget how good that first team was, especially when we added Keane. Pace power, finesse, up for a fight, up for the beautiful game. Cantona pulling the strings, Hughes still on fire, they were a joy to behold

And the ‘99 team operated on the basis of you score 3, we’ll score 4. The FA Cup semi final was immense, a man down, facing a penalty in the last minute yet we still won. And Keane’s leadership when he knew he would miss the Champions League final was incredible.

Guys, do you think this is it?
Any more possible incomings?
Mahrez perhaps.?

If we were playing a 4-2-3-1, a front 4 of martial ( lwing) sanchez ( number 10) luka ( number 9), mahrez (rwing) doesn't look shabby does it?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2018 12:31:55
Greedy ;-)

I got slated for suggesting Mahrez in the summer but still maintain he'd hit another level with us or any of the other "Top 6" clubs, the latter looking more likely though as with his return to form I can see either Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea trying to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 12:19:34
I don't want to see Rashford pushed out. The kid will have a dip in form as all kids do but he has real talent and we will now see if he has the desire to push on.

If I were him Id be staying after training and working on my finishing, he is likely to get 20 minutes here and there so when a chance comes got to take it. His decision making is poor but he is learning.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 13:04:34
We rarely buy in January so I don’t think we will see anyone else this window. I think Sanchez has been signed as it was too good an opportunity to miss.

We do need to see Rash and Martial show some consistency, they are both very talented but have been flitting in and out. Martial is scoring great goals but I still think he needs to be more involved. Rash needs to go back to basics, he seems to have lost his way slightly. We also have Shaw making a claim for the LB spot so this summer’s business will be interesting. Let’s assume Sanchez makes the difference in the final third (not exactly a big assumption is it) then I still think CM is where we often look light.

22 Jan 2018 14:01:14
Jose has said 2 in during the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 14:52:48
Im old enough to remember Busby saying Best wouldn't leave the training pitch -had his own routine he practiced hitting and heading a ball through a tyre on a piece of rope which was attached to the crossbar was one of them. 10 in a row, left foot, right foot and head, sometimes with the tyre swinging. once he did 10 in a row he could move on.

Harry Kane said last year when he got farmed out on loan a few seasons back it just made him stay behind and practice.

SAF said the same about Ronaldo and Beckham. Red Nev said in his autobiography both he and Phil thought they had to do extra sessions just to be in the first team squad as they weren't as gifted as a lot of others.
