""Sanchez tweeted this about an hour ago: "Barcelona se congela, Man City ofrece :/"

Anyone want to translate? I think he'll still end up at Barca.

>>Literally translated it means Barca freezes, City offer. So, it actually means that talks with Barca have broken down and City are in pole position :(

ags""

@It doesn't say City are in Pole position at all, it means Udinese want him to talk to City because they are offering much more than Barcelona, but we know that Sanchez does not want the City move.

So City are only in pole position 'IF' Sanchez wants to move there, but he doesn't. Barcelona are in pole position if Barcelona is where he wants to go. Us in the background are sitting pretty comfortable too, because if Barcelona don't up their bid considerably, Udinese will offer him to the next biggest bidder which is us. Sanchez may settle for us if Barcelona and Udinese cannot reach an agreement.

People need to think again if they think we are completely out of the Sanchez race. It seems Sanchez will only move to Manchester United or Barcelona. Sanchez has refused to speak to City, he is not interested in a City move. Barcelona have offered just £22m for Sanchez, they have even tried to get Udinese to accept players in the deal, but players have rejected a move to Udine and Udinese want cash for the player.

I have heard to story's, one is that we have offered £25m and another is that we offered £27m. But it's understood we are Sanchez' second choice behind Barcelona. Lets hope Barcelona pull out and that would leave us in the running, as long as City don't bribe him with gold, I imagine he will keep snubbing them.

Udinese have confirmed we are one of four clubs that have made a bid for Sanchez, our bid is either £25m or £27m, either way we have made a bid and are still in the running. I still think he will end up in Barcelona, but while we are 'apparently' his second choice, we still have a chance. But more importantly, it proves we are still in for another winger as well as Young.

SANCHEZ

1. Man City- LOL pathetic. he doesn't wanna see you. just stop
2. Barca- can't make a good enough offer after their players to swap said no to Udinese.
3. United- We are running out of time but i think we have enough money 2 sign.

well thats a lovely welcome to a new signing. Makes me proud to be a united fan. You bunch of pathetic whining whinging muppets. Just cos some foreign flash name turns us down to chase cheques elsewhere. If his name was alessandro youngini you'd all be tugging off. He hasn't even pulled on a united shirt yet and already your moaning he's not good enough. No its cos he's not a big name. Your the same sort who would have criticised us for missing out on shearer and you would have nailed solksjaer before you saw him play.

4. Hazard- I think we are better getting than Sneijder at the moment.
5. Sanchez-
Barcelona- Win titles, benchwarmer
Man City (Abu Dhabi City)- No titles, Money

I for one am very happy with the players that united look to have all but signed.
These guys are going to improve the squad greatly and in Jones and De Gea we have two very exciting talents and almost certain future stars for club and country.
I think in Young we have a very good squad player he has great pace is very direct and is good from set pieces something we lack in our squad.
I believe that lads who are already giving out about Young are being idiots the lad could turn out to be a revelation for united and them very same lads will be on here saying how great he is.
People need to realise the transfer window has still got over a couple of months to run and that one quality creative midfielder signed and we will be very very strong next season.

We have nearly signed David de Gea and have signed Phil Jones, so we have improved the squad. We have offered for Alex Sanchez and have offered for Raphael Varane. We want Eden Hazard and want Pato Rodriguez. We have also agreed a deal for Pato, and have agreed a deal with him. We are looking to the future.

just heard on the radio there might be some substance to the sanchez to city rumours.

I would be gutted if he chooses city over, barca and us to go to them, no true united fan would do this and he would have gone purely for the money cos city won't win anything next season.

The only substance is that City have much money and they're attempting to throw it around. Sanchez will never sign for them, as his heart is set on Barcelona now (I can't say what he would've done had the money been equal and it had come down to Barca and Man U).

I think Sanchez has just tweeted Barcelona have stopped, Man City have offered. My translation is not that great, but I think this is what it means!

Sanchez doesn't have a Twitter account, or at least not one that he uses to update on his comings and goings. Furthermore, Man City are NOT signing him. He doesn't want to play there and I'm fairly certain his desires still play a major factor in all of this drama. Whether Barcelona can raise the funds to purchase him anywhere close to Udinese's asking price remains to be seen. They've tried now two different makeweights and both of them baulked. It seems the Young signing all but eliminates him from playing for Man U (at least for this season), so maybe it seems all parties are at a crossroads. Though my gut is that Udinese will eventually settle on whatever Barca finally decide upon.

Just wanted to give my opinion on Berbatov and Nani. First, I think they are both individually great players. Berbatov's technique is amazing and Nani has great skill on the ball. However, I won't be that gutted to see them go. Lots of people have posted here to say that they were excellent in the first half of the season - which is absolutely true. United played better in the 2nd half of the season, though, when they played less.

I think the reason for this is that, along with Carrick and Scholes, Berbatov and Nani had a habit of slowing down our attacking play. Fergie's best teams have always attacked with real pace and been direct (inasmuch as they went straight for the jugular whenever possible). Carrick and Scholes wanted too long on the ball last season and often failed to create "depth" in the midfield - i.e. when one had the ball the other remained square rather than moving forward to receive a pass. This led to them taking 2, 3 or 4 touches when 1 or 2 was needed, and often still passing square.

Berbatov received with his back to goal, usually 35 - 40 yards from goal, and his first instinctive move was back towards his own goal. How many times did you see him run the ball back into his own half last season? His goal was always to maintain posession rather than advance the game. He was excellent at it and would fit in brilliantly in Serie A. Nani slowed the game down for a different reason - he failed to pass early far too often. He didn't cross early, he didn't play inside early. Often he'd run the defender then head backwards then pass out to the wing - by which time the opposition defence was better set.

That's why I feel they are both likely to be allowed to go. Players brought in to replace them might not be as individually talented as them but will fit better into the team ethos. Ashley Young - whatever his perceived faults - advances the game rapidly when he gets the ball and I suspect he will replace Nani in the first team because of this.

has anyone given thought that now we have ashley young we have an even more versitile squad?

Nani plays left right and maybe we will see him centre.

young plays left and centre, bet fergie plays him just off the striker a few times too.

park can play anywhere,

yeh valencia seems quite limited but he is good on the right and even giggs could still play anywhere.

youngs signing doesnt seem that bad to me, lots of positions covered and he will assist a few, anyone hu is doubting him shud calm down, wait till he plays and then make judgement

Well sounds like the Ylung deal is to go through any time now at £16m with De Gea to follow at £20m and Jones already at £16m we are looking at a net spend of £52m.

Granted a couple of fringe players look to be on their way so recoup in the region of £12m but if we can we really expect key players last term (disappointing at times) to be sold Berbatov min £12m and Nani min £25m we be near enough break even.

So should we expect further signings or just progression of youngsters (Morrison, welbeck, tuncliffe, cleverly) and a couple of shrewd fergie signings (L.Diarra, M.Martin) rather than a marque name (sneijder IMO is to expensive and would restrict Rooney's space?

Would be interested people's thoughts.

i'm sorry mates but i just don't see us signing anyone huge this summer.the most likely one was sneijder but he costs too much.there's no one else really.i know we might get a surprise person who's huge like ozil or khedira but i don't really think we can get them.and iknow A LOT of people will disagree because some of you think we can get any feckin' world-class player there is but lets face it there's no team willing to sell their world-class player.

Cannot remember exactly when fergie stated this but I recall him saying something along the lines of 'I will stick with youth, well most of it'...and that 2 to 3 players will be brought in, it makes me wonder whether he will bring through tunnicliffe, morrison and pogba.

When united won the youth cup in 1992, giggs, scholes, butt, beckham and the neville brothers replaced hughes, kanchelskis and ince. We may see a similar breakthrough of our young talented players this season.

Our midfield may resemble the following next season:

Centre mids:

Carrick
Anderson
Giggs
Fletcher
Pogba
Morrison
Tunnicliffe

Wingers:

Valencia
Nani
Young
Park
Cleverley

I am assuming that Gibson will go, and that Nani will stay.

Young signing makes a lot of sense to me..

1. He is a good dribbler who can cut inside and shoot, and can go on the outside and deliver a great cross
2. Free kick specialist and corner taker
3. Costs less than Alexis Sanchez, is proven in Premier League and has better end product (i.e not simply doing step overs for the sake of it).
4. When games are tight and if united are chasing a game and need someone who will deliver a ball into the box to create a chance or score a free kick then young is your man!

We will have Nani, Giggs, Park, Valencia, and now Young for the wings. One will have to go, but who? It would make sense to keep Nani as he is improving (albeit slowly), and get rid of either Giggs or Park who will be coming towards the end of their united careers (retirement and end of contract respectively).

Sneijder would not be a good signing for us for many reasons

1. Cost too much in fee and salary for a 27 year old
2. He already reached his peak 2 seasons ago
3. Would interfere with Rooney's role in the team
4. Would not be comfortable playing in a 4-4-2 and needs a defensive midfielder to make him more effective.

Paul Scholes replacement? easy, we already have him - Wayne Rooney. No united player can the role of 'in the hole' better than rooney. Lets get a defensive midfielder and a striker to play alongside hernandez instead!

According a red top paper, Young now completed

"shley Young will finally complete his £16million switch to Manchester United in the next 24 hours after coming through his medical.

Young was assessed by United s medical team this afternoon at the private Bridgewater Hospital near Manchester city centre.

Young s tests were the final hurdles in his move from Aston Villa to Old Trafford and the transfer was agreed earlier this month before he went on holiday.

The England winger will sign a five-year deal with United, which will double his wages to £130,000-a-week.

IMO Park will leave especially from his comments he mate in the recent charity match.

one striker one cam is what i think we will chase for next.

We have signed a young defender who will one day be a good player (PHIL JONES) for 17 Million

Ashley Young for 15+ Million for a player who isnt really going to set Europe alight

A 20 year old keeper for 18 Million who has limited experience and to be honest he doesnt really know where he wants to be next season..

If Ashley Young is actually signed as it appears he will be, then I can honestly say that I've never been as soundly disappointed in a sporting decision. The notion leaves me feeling frustrated that others can't see how useless and superfluous Ashley is as a player. As dimwitted as Nani sometimes seems to be, I'd much rather have him on the pitch at any time.

Manchester City have made a late attempt to hijack Alexis Sanchez's proposed move to Barcelona, but the player has made it clear he still sees his future in Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo claims the Italian side are thrilled with City's offer of £35.8 million cash plus £4.5m in bonuses.

However, the 22-year-old does not want to move to the Premier League as he has his heart set on Barca.

According to the report, Sanchez has agreed to join the Catalans after Udinese accepted a £33.9m bid from Spain, which was said to have included Jeffren.

Sanchez was expected to fly to Barcelona to have a medical and formalise his agreement at Camp Nou.

But City's mega offer has completely changed the picture. Udinese reportedly told Sanchez to cancel his travel arrangements from Chile, where he is with his national side ahead of the Copa America.

Really??? This guy is not Pele he aint worth that.

I hope Sanshine is right with the post regarding Ever Banega, as he could be absolutely what we need against the bigger teams in terms of a holding midfielder.

I have also heard that a bid is being prepared for Pastore which would provide a much needed creative boost.

Nani and Berbatov are to be sold, Nani for £25-30 million to Juventus or Inter and Berbatov to PSG for £11 million.

Adz

Agree. Banega is potentially absolute top draw and Im sure he would be safely under £20m to. Worry of him settling in with the culture and club from what I have read of him, but at that price he could be a great signing. As for Pastore, although Im not sure exactly where he would fit in the team, for the past two seasons, him and Sanchez have been my dream signings. Pastore in particular has everything bar lightning pace to be up there with the best in the world. £32m for a 27 year old Sneider or £35-40m ( a very high price granted) for Pastore is a no brainer for me when you consider the age of Pastore (22-23?) and his potential sell on value.

Looking at Real Madrid next season, some of their players look like they could become available for good prices. With the signing of Nuri Sahin, players like Khedira and Diarra are seemingly available. Another player who seems to be possibly available could be Mesut Ozil.

Neymar and Aguero look like they could both be at Madrid next season and Javier Pastore is being linked with them, so I would love to see Fergie make a cheeky bid for Ozil. Remember how much we all wanted him last summer?

Another player we seem to have forgotten all about is a young lad who had every major European club after him in January 2010, Sergio Canales. He could be looked at also. Ed, could Ozil or Canales possibly be available? I heard Canales was linked with Villarreal. You heard anything else?

Neymar has agreed a six year deal with Real Madrid, all that needs sorting out is the transfer fee. Does this mean Falcao will be signed instead? Lukaku & Falcao?

Sydney!

I don't believe this is correct. Neymar is playing for Santos tonight in the Copa Libertadores final. If they win they play in the World Club Championship in December, and are likely to play Barca in the final. The speculation is that if Santos win tonight he will stay for next season and play in a Santos v Barca, Neymar v Messi showdown. The WCC is a massive event in South America!

its not that i dont like the idea of some top players coming to united, I would just like to see us focus on areas we need, rather than buy them because they seem good.

A world class CM is a definate and I would aslo like another top striker but I cant decide who... :S

having watched Sanchez play and Morrison play they look very similiar and play very similar. For me he would be a great buy but i think its time we gave young english talent a chance.

WE have Tunnicliffe, P:ogba and Morrison availalbe. I say we either loan them out or start integrating them into the 1st team. Tunnicliffe looks like hes ready for a place in midfield. With Fletcher there too we will be fine.

Carrick for me needs to be sold as he adds nothing to our midfield. We now have Park/Nani/Valenica/Young. Giggs prob retire end of next season.

Ideally a creative midfielder is what we need as Anderson is abit hit and miss but now might be able to get his chance since scholes has gone. On his day he is really good.

Think a cheeky bid for Parker or if not Diarra.

So, Varane has opted for Real Madrid; De Gea hinting he may stay in Spain; Sanchez going to either Barca or Sh*tty (we have said we will not match the Wastelands bid in the event that his Barca move falls through); Young deal still not completed; Modric and Sneijder deals looking lass and less likely. All we have to date is Phil Jones (who is one for the future, not next season).
David Gill has said that he wants our main transfer dealings sorted before he goes on holiday (which is at the end of this week, I believe).
What is going on and how can we lose so many possible transfer targets? I hope that there is some serious work on undisclosed targets going on or are we facing another "no value in the market" summer and all the utterances about being busy in the transfer market was just a ploy to get fans to renew their season tickets?

Surely if United would be willing to stump up 30m for Sanchez then we should be realistically go in for Eden Hazard. This lad is twice the player of Sanchez, and hasn't even reached his full potential yet.

20m and 80k/week wages sounds good ;).

The only thing negative about him is that EVERYBODY wants him, and Lille don't want to sell. :(

sydney thank you for your reply to my earlier comment on the fair play rules. I don't think you read it right going by your apples comment. I was saying it could be a good thing for us compared to city and chelsea as we earn more based on a larger stadium and more sensible wage bill. These rules could really hit them hard especially city as they don't make a lot in merchandise and the champions league money will be swallowed by the wages. My point was these rules could eliminate the spending power of most of our domestic rivals. Wont do much damage to our international rivals though.

Wouldnt it be worth United matching whatever City have offered for Sanchez? He's 22 and undoubted talent and surely SAF would be kicking himself if for the sake of 5-10 mill he was lost to City.
Plus Sneijder wont come cheap anyway, Modric looks extremely unlikely and Nasri is very much an outside bet.
If we dont sign any CMs at all this summer then i fear we'll get left behind

Theirry Henry 2008-2009 season. La liga title copa del rey AND the champions league. A treble year in which Henry scored 26 goals and had 11 assists. He will be 34 when our season starts that puts him over thirty when he achieved that. samuel eto would have been around 27 in that season. He is now 30 . 2010-2011 stats 37! goals 15 assists. Fabiano now aged 30 last three seasons.. 37 goals 17 assists 34/21 32/14.

Tell me those are players who offered nothing after 27? and secondly show me a direct quote that says alex gives a monkey about his wages. Look at the total wage bill of united. We are talking like it would soak up 50% or close. nani is young and has had one great season. his wages reflect that. What has Sniejder achieved? And his wages reflect that. What I would prefer is get him AND a younger version. What would be wrong in getting mata martinez and sniejder? And maybe we'll see anderson step up into a role he is more suited and familiar.

Looks like yet another twist in the Sanchez saga. Although he has been released by chile to sign his contract jeffren has come out publicly to say he's not interested in a move to udinese and will snub any offer they make.

Reports in Italy suggest this has alerted the mercenaries at wastelands who have acted fast abd tabled a 35m cash offer and udinese are trying to push this offer on to the lad.

It's also reported united are not willing to match the offer made by city.

What do you mean no one else has signed anyone. with these financial fairplay rules coming in isn't this to our benefit? Even accounting for the payments out to the vampires and their debt we still earn massive amounts. So we can theoretically in coming seasons spend more than most clubs. Certainly it eliminates most of city's and chelsea's spending i would have thought. I do think platini is waiting to make an example of someone preferably english as its the whole reason it was cooked up in the first place.

I love how everyone has "heard" that Dimitar Berbatov is going to be the make-weight in various transfer deals around Europe. As United bought him for £30m or thereabouts, continual ratings of £10m seem a little low, considering he just had a 20+ goal season.

As we get nearer to July, our fans should get used to Fergie springing surprises on us. The "definite" deals aren't always the ones that will happen. Remember what happened with Phil Jones the other week? The bookies and media were all convinced he was minutes away from signing for Liverpool. And suddenly United got their man. We may feel disappointed if only one of (and clearly not all of) Sanchez, Sneijder, Modric and De Gea don't come to United. But Fergie and Gill aren't complacent. If a player isn't willing, or the selling club looks elsewhere, United will find talent to bolster the squad. Bebe has been criticised but he was chosen for the future. Hernandez was already lining up for a very good Mexican national team, even thought we didn't know him very well in England. Smalling came from a lower league background to Fulham, and had hardly played for them before he joined United. Have faith in whichever players sign for United. Even if you didn't have a clue that a deal was about to happen! ;)

With Ashley young, Jones and De Gea pretty much already signed. Sir Alex is after a central midfielder seeing as he has just lost scholes (hargreaves doesn't count). With Cleverly back in the squad, United are going after wesley sneijder and if that becomes unsuccesful will go for Diarra of real madrid as he has already proven himself at (you could say) 3 of the top teams in the world.
--------------------------------------------------
In what way did he prove himself at Arsenal or Chelsea? He made 9 Premier League starts in two seasons for Chelsea and only lasted five months at Arsenal. In the past 2 seasons at RM he's made only 51 starts in all competitions - which is pretty poor when compared to the 47 starts Alonso was handed last year alone. It may be fair to say that in each of the teams he's been at there have been better players than him which have made it hard for him to get game time... but imo if he's not good enough for Arsenal, Chelsea or Real Madrid then he is nowhere near good enough for us. The only teams rejects I'd consider taking are Barcelona's; although I can't see how that would do much to bridge the gap in quality between the two clubs!

With Chelsea locked in the deals for Modric, Lukaku and co. Barcelona, City locked in the saga for Sanchez, Real and Chelsea again in the saga over Neymar i wonder whether it would be a smart move to pull out of the Sanchez saga and go all out in a 30+mil bid for Sneijder or even Pastore. It could prove to be a shrewd timing with all the major players locked in focusing their funds elsewhere and we could well get the deal done quickly. Just a thought, don't shoot the messenger.

Changing our style of play to a conventional 4-2-3-1 with Rooney playing up top, Sneijder behind him with Carrick and Fletcher doing the dirty work of hacking down players very much in the same way as De Jong and Van Bommel do, or Zanetti and Motta did for Sneijder at Inter would bring the best out of Sneijder as well and we all know Rooney plays really well alone up top too. With having Hernandez as the second striker and having to play only 1 striker every game we won't be needing another striker too and then could depend on Wellbeck as the backup. Young/Park or Nani do well on the left in a 4-3-3 while Valencia/Nani on the right provides really good and consistent supply with Sneijder to set them up free one on one against full backs with his accurate through balls.

Anderson, Cleverley, Jones and Giggs with our youth would be good enough cover in midfield on the bench as well while i think Fabio with his excellent ball skills and passing and good tackling can play in midfield (haven't we seen him do it for the reserves with great effect?) Possibly selling Berba and getting somebody like Morata would make us stronger in the striking department too.

Just a suggestion, which i think could work out really well with deals possibly getting quickly done without a lot of fuss since the others have diverted their funds to the deals i mentioned.

Manchester United not likely to win Alexis Sanchez race as Barcelona is approaching a deal with Udinese:

Alexis Sanchez could be confirmed as a Barcelona player in the next couple of days with the player's Spanish representative claiming the deal is now "80% done".

Alexis Sanchez will move to Camp Nou in a 45 million part-exchange deal, part of which will see Spain Under-21 winger/forward #11 Jeffren Suarez move in the other direction and play for Udinese.

Quique Pina told Cadena COPE: "Right now Barcelona just have to iron out a few details, but it's practically done. It's 80% done and the other 20% is what's to be ironed out.

"It's a figure close to 45 million, which is an initial value, including a player and other variables."

The Chilean FA gave Sanchez permission to leave the national team's training camp ahead of the Copa America so he could fly to Spain to complete his move.

As Barcelona is getting nearer and nearer to the Chilean winger "Chile Cristiano Ronaldo" Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United is likely to change its target to Aston Villa's winger Ashley Young, who had temporarily prosponed his wedding to join the Red Devils

David De Gea idolises Manchester United legenary goalkeepers:

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea says he has taken Manchester United's interest in him as a "compliment" and revealed that Old Trafford legends Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar were among his boyhood idols.

De Gea, 20, has been heavily linked with a move to United over the past few months, though no deal has been done yet for the Spanish custodian, who is currently on international duty at the European Under-21 Championship in Denmark.

United have been searching for a new goalkeeper since Van der Sar revealed his intention to retire earlier this year and De Gea remains the firm favourite to replace the Dutchman as the Premier League champions' No. 1.

Despite the constant speculation, the 20-year-old insists he remains solely focused on helping Spain at the Under-21 Championship for now and refused to be drawn on his future.

"I am trying to stay focused on the Euros for now because it's fundamentally important to our hopes that we all think only about that, '' he told AS.

"Manchester United are a great club and if they are interested in you, it's a great compliment, but Atletico are also great.

"I'm just more relaxed if I focus on the Euros. I want my head here, not somewhere else.''

But asked whether he is keen to make a step up in quality, De Gea said: "Everyone wants to do this, you want to carry on learning, improving, this happens in all areas."

He was also happy to talk up the abilities of two former United 'keepers, with the Spaniard revealing that Van der Sar and Schmeichel inspired him when he was growing up.

"Edwin has been playing at 20 years at the highest level; he's a great goalkeeper and a big point of reference for me, '' De Gea said. "(When I was younger) I liked Schmeichel a lot, as well as Van der Sar - they're the two best that I've seen.''

The Atletico and Spain u-21 goalkeeper had been giving positive comments on a move to Old Trafford.
Although De Gea did not reveal whether he is going to be one of the Red Devils or not, it is very likely that he would be Edwin van der Sar's successor.

The reported transfer fee is between 15-20m Euros

And as an after thought. Wish the reply to button would work....sneijder is also a very good free kick taker something we badly need. Look at arsenal's invincible team also. How old was pires and llungberg and co? and look at what they achieved. Forever etched into their history. And it was what? One and half seasons. If we could get three great seasons out of sneider it would be worth it. That team had a good balance of ages. And after? Too much emphasis on youth for them. And what have they won? Scholes would have been a drive for young players to wish to sign with us to play in mid with him. All respects to the underated carrick and fletch but I can't see too many rushing to share a mid with them though its a small point. Replacing scholes isn't just about talent. Its status also. If it were up to me i'd get sneijder and a younger version to shadow him or see what anderson can do in a more advanced role. But not put the need of that creativity on a young mans shoulders alone. Anyways. That just about wraps up a for arguement for signing him up. Cons red

To Joe regarding sneijder, 7 goals 7 assists really isn't bad. Not spectacular but not bad. Scholes in his day was looking for 10 a season at least. But we'd be buying more than that. A creative spark A match winner. A final decisive ball. Don't think the passion was missing in the treble season. Last year was a funny one for inter. The drug of mourino and its inevitable come down. And the poor saps got a jilted benitez too eager. That kind of change has its affect. Besides the reason I weighed it up in favour was more the effect it would have on our team. looking at it positively and on the message it gives to other teams that we are serious. It silences the doubters about the money situation. Losing to barce i am convinced had a negative effect on our transfer strategy especially with the younger talents who the likes of real and barce would go for. I'm not sure if i'm explaining this well and sure him coming could have plenty of negatives. If he doesn't sign i wouldn't be disappointed like with sanchez but if he does i'd genuinely be excited about what he can bring to the team. It feels like a case of speculate to accumelate. Don't put the weight of revitalising a stagnant midfield on young shoulders give it to someone proven. I Still think having young world class potentiel is the way to go but every once in a while, for the bigger picture. Get someone who's been there. Financially it will not drown our club nor stop us going for the best young talent. Constantine Red

You are wrong in so many ways. Obertan is not a defender, he is not necessarily out of favor just inexperienced, and he will not be going to Nottingham forest. If he leaves he will either go on loan in the premiership or back to france or we will sell him back to france. I would say a loan move would be more likely.

Going for snjeider is certainly a tricky choice. Like sydney says. He could well fall in form rapidly. Clubs like chelsea and man city can afford to take that gamble. I don't believe the dressing room would but upset with his wages though. And this is what weighs it up for me. The buzz such a player would create within the club don't underestimate. Rooney is still young and the renewed energy of playing alongside a big name would be no small thing. Also world wide. Like it or not many many kids worldwide are familiar with the computer games. Fifa pro evolution familiarises them with big players. Sometimes more so than real football. Names create excitement. On a global scale for fan base and for renewed belief at home. I think one high wage and a few real young talents would be worth the gamble. Giggs 37 doesn't mean they all go down around 27 plus.constantine red

I am thinking about the Fabregas saga between Barca and Arsenal. Barca refuse to pay, and after Sanchez cannot afford to pay, the 35mil asking price. It's a shame that Cesc wouldnt leave Arsenal for United, bc he's exactly the player we need in CM, young, skilled in possession, PL proven, etc. And 35mil sounds a good price too.
