Quite a few rumours circulating that Vidal has agreed personal terms with Arsenal will be sickening if they sign him, would make them able to push Chelsea next season. Hopefully its just media guess work but with Sanchez already there maybe there is some legs in it.

Didn't arsenal agree terms with William Carvalho?
Don't believe anything they say

Juve has a important game in june and unlikely to be doing any business at this time.

23 May 2015 22:47:11
We are likely to look to sign 2 midfielders if possible this summer, but considering we will need a RB, a CB, and a ST as well then things are starting to look expensive. Especially when you consider we could also make a move for Bale and could in an ideal world look for two CB. Then there is the De Gea situation maybe forcing us into the market to sign a GK as well possibly.

So wouldn't it be a great idea if we could bring in a solid midfield option on the cheap, as it happens there are three very good midfielders on free transfers this summer.

Khedira, De Jong and Milner, so if given the choice which one would you want to see signed and why?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - Unless Schweinsteiger is signed for the cheaper alternative midfielder? Would offer a lot of experience and possibly be an upgrade on Carrick. Him and Gundogan on the cheap}

23 May 2015 23:57:10
Shappy, of the three you listed, I would go for De Jong. He does not have a wide array of skills, but what he does, he does well. A true defensive MF who is tough and experienced. But I do like the Schweinsteiger rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2015 07:08:09
As the ed said, Schweni and Gundogan. De Jong only if we fail to sign a decent 2nd midfielder.
Schweni, Carrick, Gundogan, Herrera, Fellaini : Hell of a midfield

Milner. Underrated, great engine and good all rounder. Very good back up. And he's English.

Edurne wearing Red at the Eurovision. Definitley a sign that De Gea is staying.

Oh wait! She's now wearing gold. We had a gold away kit in 2001-02. The signs lads, the signs.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I don't think losing De Gea would leave us in crisis. We made top four thanks to him but if we fix the problems that gave him that responsibility to save our ucl dream, we should be fine. We will obviously get a decent goalkeeper if he goes, someone like Cech may be or Valdes for the time being. Why everyone seems to cry over him leaving? We will be fine. We would love him to have a legend OT career but that's the least of our problems right now.

Agree5 Disagree1

23 May 2015 22:47:17
Why are we so bothered? Because he is in the top 3 keepers in the world. Can you name one player we have other than De Gea in the top 3 in their position in the world? Answer is a resounding no. It's imperative that we keep our best players. People seem to think our defence will be so good next season we can play without a keeper. Hummels already looks a no go, I wouldn't hold your breath on couple of world class defenders coming in

Agree2 Disagree1

24 May 2015 01:34:05
Mate, who wouldn't want De Gea to stay? Its no wonder Madrid is after him. But can't a team win with a goalkeeper who maybe can't pull of extraordinary saves like him but still does a decent job? That is to say if we have a good enough midfield and defense. If we don't, that's another issue. If we still can't fix a problem which should have been fixed years ago, God help us. It ain't that easy but we cannot not splash the bucks on top defenders. We have the brand, the money, and now UCL (hopefully). If we miss out again, it will be no excuse. Valdes or Cech may not have the reflexes of De Gea but they're top goalkeepers. They have won because their team was good enough. There can be no excuse to say we are not good enough in certain areas. We are no Liverpool. Cheers.
PS: Hope De Gea stays, if not, good luck to him. We will be fine.

Are we interested in Julian Draxler? Not really having a good time of it at scalke? Really derserves to be playing for a better side with his talent? Would be a really good signing I think?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - No.}

23 May 2015 21:21:58
I still think Laporte or Varane would be better buys than the injury prone Hummels .Laporte was class again in La liga today and we all know what Varane can offer .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 22:07:44
I agree with you 100%. But its about what we can get too. Real Madrid isn't letting Varane leave for sure. Laporte might me a bit more realistic. Who else we got in mind other than Hummels? I don't understand the obsession with him. He is injury prone. Haven't us had enough of dealing with injuries?

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2015 22:42:21
If Varane was to leave Real Madrid his most likely destination would be Stamford Bridge. Him and Jose have a very good relationship, and Mourinho has said he is the best young defender around. Chelsea are strongly considering him as Terry's replacement.

But as I said that is an IF Real decide to cash in on him, if they do then Laporte is the player they want to replace Varane.

Imo there are three big name young defenders who will go on to become the best CB's in the world in a few years time, they are Varane, Laporte and Marquinhos. We should definitely be looking to bring one of these guys in as the long term key CB for our club. All great teams are built on a solid defence and every defence needs a player who leads the rear guard.

Now Marquinhos has decided to spend another season on the PSG bench, and to be honest he looks like a Barca signing to me, maybe with them being banned from signing players he is playing the long game.

Varane will likely only leave to join Chelsea and only if Real can sign Laporte as his replacement. So it would make most sense to go all out for Laporte this summer, if we land him then we will get a great young CB who will likely go on to become one of the worlds best. Plus it would mean Real can't sign him to replace Varane meaning they will most likey choose not to sell him to Chelsea which would stop a direct rival getting stronger to.

Or am I just over thinking it. lol.

Long story short Laporte should be our top priority CB this summer.

Agree4 Disagree0

23 May 2015 22:41:42
Otamendi along with garay we would have an argentine back line with Rojo

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2015 11:47:32
Ive always like Laporte and think he will be a worlds greatest, the only problem is we need experienced CB. He would be a great investment for the future but don't see him as the replacement we need, especially at the cost it would take to bring him here. At 21 he may struggle to adapt to the PL at his age, and the last thing we want to happen is him turn into a Mangala with all the potential he has.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2015 12:51:29
Easy choice, Laporte for me! Then Varane.

23 May 2015 19:30:49
I know the rumours are we have got over £100m to spend but I found a list of players out of contract this summer and I feel a couple could help strengthen our squad. There a more obviously but these are the better ones imo.
The list is as follows:-
1. Khedira
2. Chiellini
3. Rabiot
4. Schar
5. Yarmolenko
6. Uchida
7. Kaboul
8. Milner
9. Vlaar
10. Dejong
11. Huntelaar
12. alves

I think one or two may have signed new contracts but couldn't find any reports, anyway out of the 12 players I could find i'd take a gamble on:-

1. Konoplanka a good winger with pace and scores a few.
2. Khedira A good replacement for Carrick when injured depends on his fitness really but a good defensive midfielder.
3. Alves Just because he would be better than Valencia at RB and that's not his fault he's a winger. But could add something to the counter attack.
4. De Jong for some steel when the game is getting tough.

Who would you guys take if any or anyone else to be far?

Hope we buy some real top quality as we need it to catch Chelsea although I don't think they are that good, they've been more consistent and everyone else hasn't, like us a few seasons back the league, although more entertaining has been relatively poor standard.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

23 May 2015 20:00:39
Chiellini and Buffon both signed new deals. Rabiot I think did sign too, I am not sure.
Younes Kaboul? Are you kidding me? He was so awful for spurs this season.
Schar could be a decent CB, but do we need another squad player?
De Jong would be a good buy IMO, only if we fail to sign schweni, Gundogan, vidal etc. Only Herrera and Carrick the midfielders with Blind and Fellaini. At least one preferably two are needed for midfield.
Khedira? What's the point of a player who goes 6 months missing every season?
Alves is brilliant while attacking, but it could turn out to be a Maicon like signing in my opinion. Although I would still prefer him over Clyne. Coleman would be the one I would love to have.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2015 21:08:17
Most are pretty decent players, but the only two I would take is Rabiot from PSG and Schar from Basel is it? Both we could get for a fairly reasonable price too?

We should sign Khedira. he's on a free transfer.

Not saying we should sign him and not pursue another CM. because he wouldn't be the first name on the team sheet for me, but he'd be a good back up. rather have him than Rooney in Cdm lol

Believable0 Unbelievable2

23 May 2015 16:21:30
Not a big fan of khedira but see he Coukd be an asset. Injury record worries me.
However with all our needs we need to be clever with our buys and 1/2 freebies Coukd help with getting who we want elsewhere.
All goes wrong and we Coukd sell for £10m next summer!!

Guys Tom Thorpe is having a complete stormer in the reserves, totally bossing the defence and going forward strongly, passing beautifully. He defo deserves a shot at the first team

Believable4 Unbelievable3

23 May 2015 13:57:04
U21s on at the minute on MUTV. 1-0 up against City at half-time.

Possible Thorpe's last game for the club, which is a shame, because he looks a decent player. He'll be a good signing for a mid-table Premiership team, if he does go. Same with Rothwell.

Andy Kellett has impressed me. Thought it was a strange move at the time, to be honest, coming from Bolton. Good positioning ability, and good technique. Did well to create the goal.

Couple of U18s promoted for this game, too. Worth watching as a wee appetiser before the main course at 3.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 14:50:13
City's experience telling in the second half. Their striker, Iheanacho, looks a proper player. You can see why they have high hopes for him.

Similar story to the first team, for the U21s. Lots of possession without a cutting edge, grab a goal, but know its not going to be enough because the chances just aren't being created. 3-1 City.

Gribbin looks a confident, lively player. Only on, and he's already looking to run at the opposition. Good feet.

24 May 2015 07:12:13
Did we not win the u21 league stevie? No cutting edge?
We are U21 champions !!!

23 May 2015 13:17:47
I think the 2 must buys are an experienced, strong centre half and a fast box to box midfielder. With just them 2 additions it would make a massive difference.
After that a right back and
another midfielder(short on numbers there) would be a bonus.
I think a striker can wait another year as we only playing 1 up front, maybe cheap backup like Ings or somebody.
But quality cb and cm and less injuries and I think we will see huge improvements.

Just been having a nose on the Liverpool rumours page for ed002 info, I need my fix ed I'm ha, quite a big write up by someone and excellent input from ed2 as always which relates to United in certain parts.
How would people feel if we signed naingollan and matuidi this summer for our midfield? Not saying it's going to happen but certainly there is interest there.
Also it's fun to see the fans of Liverpool slating Rodgers, hating Sterling and still worshiping Suarez. If anyone is unhappy with our 4th place, it could be worse ha.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 13:11:12
Would love naingollan, he's definitely physical enough for England, not sure how likely that or matuidi is but I'd be made up if we could get either

As it is exam time for me, I've pretty much turned into an insomniac, so last night I was bored and started watch YouTube videos of Paul Scholes, and this leads to the question, what is your favourite memory of Scholes? For me it was in 2007 against Milan where he played that incredible scooped ball from the edge of the box to Rooney! The ball was inch perfect and in the process made Nesta (who was one hell of a defender) look a tad stupid! It's easy to mention some of the goals he scored as his best moments but I thought in my opinion that was probably one of, if not the best assist I seen him make.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 12:22:47
I was on the tear with my best mate who is a Liverpool fan. It was the Manchester derby. I was totally spangled and went on a long rant on how Scholes is the complete player. After being told I'm talking sh**, Scholesy popped up with the headed winner. Totally vindicated everything I just said. What a legend!!!

Hi eds. Everyone is saying that we need a top new striker due to our lack of goals however we have a player on loan banging them in! I know that the league henriquez is in isn't as competitive as the prem but he's still got a great goal return and he's still only young. Is there any chance LVG will bring him back or will he leave permanently? Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 10:52:01
I think the ed said he had agreed to sign permanently for that club mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2015 11:13:45
Thanks mate, it's such a shame as he was bought with the hope he would be a good player and he's not really been given a chance with us. He's scored loads where he is now and could have been a good back up striker for next season

Agree2 Disagree0

23 May 2015 11:21:13
But LVG said that he would talk to all the players after the hull game, and could it be he has an eye on henriquez?
If he is a statistics fan, he should be impressed with henriquez's return, and it wouldn't hurt if he spent the pre-season with us, which would give the manager to see how he plays.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 May 2015 23:03:52

Was wondering why no one links us with Marco Reus, a too winger who can play centrally as well. Reus, depay and di maria would be perfect behind Rooney. Although it'd be difficult to convince Dortmund to do part with 3 of their main player in the same transfer to the same team, considering we court both gundogon and Hummels

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 08:57:31
