Hi Ed002,

I know you are often busy but I was just wondering if you would have any time soon to put together a list of Uniteds current targets. Hard to see the wood through the trees at the moment with all the speculation. Would appreciate your insight.

Either way thanks for your hard work as always. Read the site daily but mainly lurk.

Cheers.

Whay do we think for Friday guys?
I'm half expecting rash and sanchez to start. And half expect to see 4 or more from herrera blind darmian romero young fellaini rojo to start.
With Spurs away on Wednesday it will be interesting to see if jose rotates a bit or sticks with his now 12 to 13 regular starters plus sanchez. He may feel its best to stick with that as they have the weekend off to be fresh for wed. I can see an argument for either policy to be honest.
He Will probably rest a couple and Give an opportunity to the likes of herrera Romero rash a start.

We shouldn’t take anyone for granted but surely this is a game when we can give the likes of Lukaku and Matic a well deserved rest? I’d play quite a few of those that are in need of a game, with a strong bench we should be ok.

Agreed AJH. Try rash or martial up top and see Sanchez get a start.

24 Jan 2018 21:11:14
I agree ajh. But he may want to retain the rythem and keep this core 13 / 14 starters and keep them working together integrating sanchez in preparation for spurs.
Either way of course we should win it will be interesting to see his approach. Mine would be to rest matic lukaku ddg Jones valencia. Maybe jesdie.

Sanche on bench with a few mins I’d say, keep him for Spurs.

25 Jan 2018 12:01:14
I feel Sanchez needs minutes with the team, so will get at least 30, it is also time to rest Lukaku and Matic.
I reckon the front 4 that finish the match on Friday could be closer to the starting 4 for Spurs
That gives fringe players a run out, but also gives Sanchez a chance to integrate with the first choice 4 (whomever that may be! )

Welsh Red Devil. Sanchez is a very fit player and I would get as many minutes under his belt tomorrow as possible.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2018 01:20:29
I think we should field just Sanchez on his own. He's a fit lad and can get around the pitch well enough so let's see what £450k a week gets us.

Would be great if we went in for laporte now. What a player but will he choose staying at bilbao or money?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2018 15:26:56
Would make my day angel! Top player but I think he will choose money.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 15:35:09
Maybe he'll choose to move to win trophies, or work under Pep, or to have a better chance of playing in the World Cup?

As much as I hope City don't get the player, there are many reasons why a player of his ability would be looking to leave Athletic, and even if he is moving for money, so what.

Agree1 Disagree3

24 Jan 2018 15:37:57
He'll go to City.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 16:14:53
Bloody hell we are not even in for him.

24 Jan 2018 16:21:41
Oh Danny, and here I was only having a bit of fun. We signed a player this week called Alexis Sanchez and the narrative all week was pep or money. Maybe you didn't see that headline 😂😂 I'm just having a little dig.

24 Jan 2018 16:44:26
Ah right, I've just had enough of the wage shaming over the last few weeks. Consider me gotten.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 17:04:53
No worries pal. Lol. But joking aside, he will be a great signing. A much better CB than what they have barring Kompany who is so injury prone. Hard to get players out of bilbao. But 65.million should do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 17:27:35
Personally not a big fan of laporte, he is decent but nothing great, he lacks pace and everytime I have seen him he seemed to get out performed by either that Nunez kid this year or yeray last year.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 17:46:51
We're not in for him as we have enough injury prone defenders.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 18:38:15
unless they are a volunteer, doesn't everyone move for money?

24 Jan 2018 18:50:11
I honestly couldn't give a shiny s##t who city sign I'm more than happy with our squad can't wait til next game 😊.

24 Jan 2018 20:14:10
Absolutely deano. It's just the irony of the headline 'pep or money'. It was quite disrespectful to our club, history and tradition.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 20:39:36
Indeed angel I'm getting used to the disrespect it shows we are feared again.

24 Jan 2018 20:58:49
I'm in agreement there pal. Headlines have been anti United lately. Might have more to do with Jose though.

Isn't Laporte Pogba's best mate . You just never know Agent P just might strike again and then we can sell Smalling to WBA (PLEASE) 😆😆.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 23:22:37
I think smalling has been really good this season again, he’s getting regular games and hopefully he’s going nowhere. Grass isn’t always greener.

Agree3 Disagree2

25 Jan 2018 00:02:47
Smalling is a decent player, but he's also an accident waiting to happen. Positionally suspect, has a tendency to rush toward the halfway line following strikers who drop deep, and could potentially be giving away a penalty every game for holding in the box during corners and free kicks. He has good points, strength, speed, and tackling ability. But Jones has been far superior to him in pretty much every respect this season.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Jan 2018 00:39:46
I always get worried Jones will get injured chasing parked cars.

25 Jan 2018 13:08:17
Unai Nünéz is a far better option!

Younger, looks a better player and his release clause is almost half of Laporte!

25 Jan 2018 20:03:54
Never heard of him Ronnie . Who does he play for 😆😆.

Hello ed002. are we genuinely looking to sign a full back this window? And where do u see a serious interest? Thanks in advance. Many are thinking the same question.

There was a great quiz I did earlier to name United's fans player of the year, every year for the last 30 years
It was not difficult as it just gave the year and nationality. So by the process of elimination I got 26 out of 30 but knew 2 others in kancheskis and Hernandez which i had spelt wrong.
I missed 10/ 11 teddy sheringham and ince 94 I think.
Anyway, i was astounded to notice some of the real fan favourites that never won it.
Big pete, , Bruce irwin yorke Cole rii evra ole neville And a most notable absentee scholes. .
Rooney RVN Keane Becks ddg mc clair all won twice. Ithink vidic and pallister won 1 each but no scholes unbelievable Geoff.

That’s a really good point ken. Perhaps the fans don’t always pick the best player but the one who stood out for another reason, perhaps they performed better than we expected? Scholes and Beckham were playing in a brilliant team which made winning it more difficult and whilst DDG has been excellent, he hasn’t had a huge amount of competition in recent years! Take last year, Herrera won it but was he outstanding? Probably not. My memory is not what it was but there are some surprising choices when you look back and consider who was in the team.

Yeah Ajh ddg won 3 years in a row before herrera. Some great players on the list it brought back good memories.

I think we take certain players for granted.

Of those still in the squad ddg herrera and valencia have won it.
I suppose each fans criteria is different.
For the season so far my vote could go to any of 4 players all for different reasons Young, matic, pogba or ddg . I hope sanchez makes a late bid for my vote this season.
