Pogba out and Ramsey in for January? I'd take that.

Believable4 Unbelievable14

25 Aug 2018 23:33:56
He couldn't lace pogbas boots.

Agree8 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - He is a footballer and wont be able to lace boots at all - saved by Velcro.}

26 Aug 2018 03:38:57
Pogba should play all out if he wants to prove that Jose is not a good manager. In fact the whole team should do it.
If the team doesn’t come out with good results it only shows that they are just at much fault as the manager.
Remember the word is TEAM. Not manager neither player/ s.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Aug 2018 09:00:03
Ramsey far more effective premier league player. Pog doesn’t want to be at the club, and the club don’t want him. Sell up and move on.

Agree3 Disagree5

26 Aug 2018 10:13:50
And it's Ramsey dream to play for United.
One decent season been pretty average for years, I would take a pass on Ramsey .
Ramsey matic Fred wig Herrera? No creativity.

Sell pogba now and buy Ramsey in January. Lol.

it's come to a point were i'm not even looking forward to watching united play spurs on Monday i can't stand the manager or he's setup. clubs becoming a joke i think.

Believable8 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - The club is not becoming a joke, the fans are continuing to be a joke if they are not interested in giving their support.}

25 Aug 2018 20:55:45
Win on Monday and this supposed Crisis club is a point of the top, shocking after being our highest since Fergie last season and winning 3 trophies in its supposed chaos. I too don’t enjoy the style of football but jumping on jose for every single thing to do with MU isn’t going to get this club anywhere.

Quite shocking the lack of support by some so called fans on here at the minute. If what we are told the manager signed a new contract and then gave a list of players to get to Ed and the owners so we could catch City. We got one out of five and now it's the managers fault all of a sudden. Ask yourself why didn't we get all the players for God's sake are we not Man Utd what is wrong with us. The trouble is at board level not the manager. The sooner we get a DOF the better. We will beat Spurs and Burnley and then all this will papered over until we hire a DOF . #INJOSEITRUST😆😆.

Agree3 Disagree4

25 Aug 2018 23:43:35
Are we going back to judging teams on a game by game basis?

Agree6 Disagree3

26 Aug 2018 02:41:09
We will win a lot of the games this season. Also avoid defeat in most aswell it's just the way he sets us up . We all know it's difficult to watch but he wins big games. Last season we beat all the top six teams and still didn't win the title with the points total . 😆😆.

26 Aug 2018 09:01:26
Sorry Ed.
Respectfully, it's not that simple. I am torn. In a sense I support but this dross does not not make this possible without provisos.
I don't know what it is but something is desperately wrong between coach, owner, CEO players and yes. FANS.
It is impossible for me go apportion blame as none of us knows what is going on within the club. They must sort it and give us football that we can support, death or glory.
I have donned my hard hat.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; many Man Utd fans are spoiled.

Agree3 Disagree2

26 Aug 2018 11:36:25
Yeah we are spoiled as we had amazing success and a great style of play mostly which is obvs very hard to achieve in tandem, on the other hand I guess we should expect success and a certain style of play but then again why are we any different to any other team who strive for theee things, we should be supporting our team no matter what and how dark it gets, as Jred alludes to we could be the national League and stuck their like my home town Wrexham has been for an age, we need to realise how lucky we’ve been, some clubs have not won or done anything or can afford to do what we can and would love to be in the position United are.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Aug 2018 11:55:28
Big Difference between fans and supporters in my opinion. It’s a certain type of fan that gives this historic club a bad name and represent this toxic label. Supporters we will never be short of and it’s supporters who represent this club in my eyes and deserve to be entertained not toxic fans who offer nothing and expect everything.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Aug 2018 12:16:28
It is amazing that so far 5 people have liked the opening post. Manchester United survived an air crash that destroyed a team and came back 10 years later to win the European cup. Yet when we have difficulties some want to stamp their feet and walk away.

Too many got used to the SAF success including the owners and Woodward thinking it would just carry on. People became arrogant and that’s where we are now, we have no devine right to play beautiful winning football. There are problems from the owners at the very top down but to change it we have to face it, not run away.

I stood on the Stretford End for years cheering us on to unlikely victories, who gave us a chance against Maradona’s Barcelona in 84 but we turned it round. The crowd were immense, yet play that game now and we would have people turning their back on the team, not bothering. Must be a modern thing, but in the past even pre SAF, adversity brought out the fighting spirit, now it doesn’t. Tomorrow night I want to see that in our team and we should get right behind them. If we go one nil down we should be the 12th man to get them going. That is what being a Manchester United fan is about. Be behind them tomorrow regardless of the problems, and that is no joke.

Agree2 Disagree5

26 Aug 2018 13:21:58
jred. I am not saying I will not support just that it is difficult.
In answer to the questions you posed I would support my team through thick and thin - otherwise I would have disappeared off here a few years back. It is just that seeming lack of cohesion within the club structure (I simply do not where the blame lies) and seemingly less than 100% effort on the pitch makes it very difficult, painful even.
Those are my feelings that I can't help nor will apologise for.
I understand your comments and respect them.
Here's hoping for better to come. Actually believing and expecting whilst supporting is for me becoming more and more difficult.
PS. No offence taken.

Hi JRED
Please cut a natural pessimist a bit of slack. You yourself said top 4 this year could be difficult and agreed when I said top 6 might be a struggle.
You are obviously a bit more optimistic than myself.
A pesimist is someone who has lived with an optimist for too long - I have you almost 50 years!
I don't think our views are that far apart. I enjoy reading your posts and agree with most. I am sure that to some extent we both have toes, fingers and eyes crossed for tomorrow night.
There wouldn't be much point to this site if we were in 100 %agreement.

Pep out! Terrible point against a newly promoted side etc etc.

Agree7 Disagree10

25 Aug 2018 18:04:28
This Wolves side looked far too good for the championship last season and I think they have added to the squad very well over the summer. They will surprise a few in the run up until Christmas. In Reuben Neves they have a Rolls Royce of a player who they will likely sell for a huge fee next summer if they can hold on to him in January.

Moutinho is still a joy to watch been a really good player.

25 Aug 2018 13:21:48
Just a quick change of subject. Be good to get the stats for teams committing most fouls. I frequently see now that Liverpool and City in particular commit more fouls than the team they are playing. These are probably to stop counter attacks and is I presume all intentional and part of the way they play.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

26 Aug 2018 15:53:44
It is how possession teams play. A foul in opposition's half is hardly ever given as a yellow, even when it is intentionally stopping a breakaway.

Pep's Barcelona did it a lot. let's be fair, it is a major part of the game today, but certainly Coty have have become masters off it.

Morning Ed001, nice review of the day as per usual btw. Quick question also, with Jose likely to leave at the end of this season, who do you think Should/ Would be ideal for the job? Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Jardim.}

25 Aug 2018 12:55:54
My choice aswell, perfect. Advantage over Poch is the trophies aswell, won the league up against PSG, also got to CL Semi's with a very young team, crazy. Rashford would be unbelievable under him, with the way Utd's been run recently we'll go for Howe instead.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, he suits United's style of play, suits United's history of building through the academy and is a winner. Seems the perfect choice. You are right Ed Woodward will no doubt go for someone like Pulis as that is the style of football every manager appointed since Fergie left has played! Allardyce is available as well.....}

25 Aug 2018 13:43:00
We laugh but its exactly the sort of thing i'd expect Woodward to do. The guy is clueless and sooner or later has to carry the can for his mistakes.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it would certainly make for interesting press conferences.}

25 Aug 2018 13:52:26
Realy do hope we get him, we MUST go in for him, maybe his time at Monaco is nearing an end? Built a team, achieved success and that teams been dismantled. Personally hope we stay away from Zidane though, for now.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't go near Zidane. Not convinced at all by him.}

25 Aug 2018 14:44:52
Zidane is exactly the guy Woody will go for. Big name, won trophies etc but totally the wrong style of play and manager for us. Why not give it a young buccaneer under a
Strong DoF.

Agree2 Disagree4

25 Aug 2018 16:12:02
Pochatino or Jardim for me. The more you see there teams play the more you want to watch.
Would certainly shake dressing room up as neither look like they accept less than 100%.
Jardim comes with record of toppling the big teams where as Pochatino has premier league experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 17:06:55
Didn't they want allegri at one point? I quite like his style of play. But I have liked to watch Jardims Monaco. I wonder if he could translate that to us if he was our manager.

I still think we might be a bit off of that point though. I hope Jose will want to prove all of the doubters wrong and go through a 3rd season and really build. Absolutely out of character but I feel like he needs to go through this and come out the other end.

Might be way off :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Who the manager/head coach is or will be in the future is not the choice of Woodward. I have explained repeatedly about Allegri and the agreement that was in place but there is a near zip chance of Jardim following Mr Mourinho as Manchester United manager.}

25 Aug 2018 17:29:35
Who do you think it will be/ should be Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - These were my words a while after the appointment was made: "It was a bad move to appoint Mourinho and a bad move for him to accept. He doesn't see MU as a progressive club that will adapt to what he thinks they need. He doesn't like being in Manchester and there are those there who still see a blue tinge surrounding him. There was a major error in taking on Ibrahimovich - it is disruptive with the kids (although one specific issue has been overcome) and he wanted to move elsewhere. Mkhitaryan is a disaster waiting to happen. Pogba's career belongs in Spain or Italy - certainly not Manchester."

If Mr Mourinho were to take the opportunity to express his displeasure at, say, the club selling Paul Pogba next week, then eventually the club will have to find a way to replace Mr Mourinho with someone else. They will take advice, as they always do in such situations, and the timing would then be critical as much will depend on who is available. But right now MU have a manager and are not looking to replace him - their focus is on brining in a Director of Football. If they were forced to have to seek a new manager, I would suggest Laurent Blanc would be the one.}

25 Aug 2018 17:55:25
Good insight Ed. Thank you.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 18:26:58
Ed do you think the club will sell pogba next week? It would seem to be a strange move with no opportunity to replace him until january.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not rule it out.}

25 Aug 2018 19:29:29
Thanks ed. Yes I'd imagine appointing a manager is solely not placed upon the shoulders of ed. I'd have thought it would have to be a boardroom decision.

Selling pogba? Is it a real possibility. I like the way you put that in there. Is it a hypothetical or a possibility :)

Blanc is a good shout ed. I'm sure they will stick by Jose though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The decision on any manager would, as I have tried to explain over and over, involve taking advice. Regardless of whether or not Pogba is sold next week, there is going to be an attempt to move him on.}
