Would valdes want to be a back up goalkeeper? I agree with those choices but I think we need a right back over a left back as we already have shaw/rojo and blind who can play there

Need cb and rb. So realistically vlaar and xhaka. We need a cm so i think moutinho or strootman (anyone but cabaye).
Then the icings on the cake will be Bale!!
Ps. I would still go for coentrao if he's available as he's brilliant player.

He isa good player but injury prone and offensively shaw is a better crosser of the ball and has a much bigger engine.

If you believe Hummels or Godin is our first choice CBs to buy in Jan and Vlaar is a back up would you rather Vidic came back for 18months?

Personally I'd like to see Hummels either Jan or Summer, Godin / Laporte / Varane in the Summer and Vidic back till end of '16.

And a Right Back. - Arias would be my choice but may be the Ajax RB Rijn

I would sell one of Evans, Smalling or Jones and that.

Gives us: Hummels, Godin, Vidic, Jones, Smalling - Not too shabby if you ask me.
2 world class CB, 2 Capable back ups who can cover RB and DCM plus an experienced leader.

{Ed004's Note - Rojo? I'd rather him than Vidic who has been awful in Italy. Also hummels has been in awful form since the World Cup}

TBH I forgot about Rojo but not sure where he fits in maybe taking out Smalling from list below so we have cover LB too but I don't see Rojo being good enough to be a main stay at CB or LB, a little like Heinze.

I hear what your saying about Vidic and Hummels - I read an article analysing Hummels and it pretty much said he was inconsistent and Subotic was the better - think it was espn.

With Vidic I think he could turn it around back at OT but only as a back up. That said older players who take that role play with their head. Vida does that but literally!

I think we need a top class CB pair but the pickings seem slim!

On the centre back front what's peoples opinions on the top five in the world
my would be
1.Boatang 2.Terry 3.Silva 4.Ramos 5.Kompany John Terry won't be a popular choice at number two but because of his age an lack of speed he gets it because not many people get by him
