Fergie Comments:

"We lost five players in their 30s this summer, " he said. "That helped finance the three younger players - Ashley Young, Phil Jones and David de Gea - I have brought to the club.

Probably the most damming statement about the budget constraints imposed by the Glazers. SAF admits that 5 experienced players need to go to finance De Gea, Jones, and Young.
This is unacceptable. Biggest club in the world? What a joke, yeah, on a shoestring. Sombody should come out and tell us the truth...absolutely disgusted

Just to let the lads know that our reserves won 1.0 away to Ayr, a twenty yard goal by Norwood and a MOTM performance by Pogba.

Our U18's are 4.0 up in the Milk cup tournament against FC Zamora, goals from Jack Barmby, Van Velzen, Kenji Gorre & Wilson. a truly MOTM performance by Mats Moller Daehli.

Yes it's Nicky Barmby's son.

The problem with Anderson is he needs a missus, he goes out has a drink, eats plenty of pizza and other junk food. He needs a missus to cook for him at home. I think that when he settles down, that is when we will see the best of Ando, just hope it's soon.

Sydney!

Sydney mate he's a professional footballer who is paid thousands upon thousands of pounds a week to play football. He should be fit, he should be improving after 4 years with us. He's at the standard now that he should have been at 3 years ago. If he hasn't mastered the art of putting the fork down after the fifth curry, he's never gonna learn.

He's not United quality and sadly never will be

Mumbles {Ed036's Note - I'd argue he was United quality in his first season, when he could express himself more with Owen Hargreaves handling the defensive midfield role.}

To be fair if we dont get Nasri or Sneijder i still think Anderson or Fletcher can be that creative midfielder. I mean Anderson started scoring goals at the end of the season and Fletcher always puts in a good performance against the big teams.

people like them with no self respect are essential for this site as without them we would be completely boored. Btw i must admit (Mr.) Bond that this site is more addictive than facebook/twitter

I just hope we sign a midfield marque player like Nasri, Modric or Sneijder. Not because we need them to be competitive in all competitions, but as a nod to the loyal 76,000 that turn up every home game, the lads who follow us away and in europe, and the millions of people that live every kick around the UK and around the world. I know we would console ourselves that our squad can cope without Scholsey, but lets be honest, most of us are secretly hoping for that breaking news banner on SSN to read "Manchester United have announced the signing of , , , , "
Put your own preference.
Come on Fergie, get it done

RAINFISHTROMBONEYour a true hard core manunited fan we all get it now. All hail the king. there are two types of people in this world rainy. You and everyone else. The notorious rainy.

Funny how everyone here would keep you here, no matter your taste for wind ups cutting it real fine, cause your woodwork, rather us all like you? how to be rainy classes coming soon. you have to move to ranies neighbourhood mind.but then you cant cause your not from around here.

Can't live and let live? your seriously trying to control this site and who talks in it?? it has nothing to do with the club. its your nature. If it wasnt the club it would besomething else only you would have the right to be king of in your eyes. The kinda people that kept coloured people at the back of buses for being different.

back to an old topic what's your beef with the people that support the club outside old traffs shadow? Don't hold back tell us you really think. i'd be intersted in reading it. but let me ask you a question. If your against the monster its become in your eyes why you not exclusively supporting the breakaway club way the divisions? hmmm. not counting any chikens the answer is coming.

this club is made by people come from out of the area. People who made the brand what it is by believing in it. Just like every fan who puts their time and money into the club far and wide.

but lets put some spin on it. you weren't there when the people that used their blood and sweat and heart to start that club, the local people whod come support and inspire the club to raise itself. I would be humble to say they are truer fans than me but not someone who by chance just happens to be born the neighbourhood. long long after the hard work was put in. Would it crumble now if your area stopped supporting it? Dont think so.

No fan outside has to bow to you. I understand your up it with the glory supporter negativity. Fair enough But other than that any other supporter be it from japan or honalulu if they follow the games and repect its history is as true a fan as you are.

try getting out the neighbourhood.

Which is a shame cos I would love nasri fantastic young player.

i really do hope that saf goes back his word an sign not 1 but 2 midfielders this transfer window 'cause we really do need someone as barca proved carrick, ando, gibson an even giggsy is not up to the task in the middle of the park. i'd like to see sneijder and lass diarra come in while pogba an tunnicliffe are both going to be players but not quite yet

Dear Editors for many years now i have always defended you for the site you provide and the rubbish you have to put up with, but recently i notice that your standards are slipping dramatically. If it is not bad enough that you let that care in the community reject Blaire maine infest our site now you have let his sister LFC come on here and spend all day talking Sh*te. Then to make things worse you make the result of brothers and sisters marrying each other come on here and go on about Citeh being a big club. For gods sake even you lot must have some sort of standards. I would rather read GAN and ED007 flirting with each other than have to put up with an infestation of bin dippers and MASSIVE city fans. I expect better from you in the future you must have a filter button use it. RAINFISHTROMBONE {Ed007's Note - It is a banter site, all fans of all clubs are welcome on the site as it is not an exclusive site for United fans. Just the same way you are allowed to visit other sites and banter with their fans. We do have a filter button, and more than a few people have suggested it is used with a lot of your posts, but you are entitled to your opinion as much as anyone and put your points across well, that is why they are posted and respected by some people. Maybe we should ask people to leave their postcode and if they don't live within a fifteen mile radius of Old Trafford we can just filter their posts out as well. If other teams posters bother you so much, you always have the option not to read them. Go on any site and you will see opposition fans are on them, it is the whole concept of banter.}

In reply to the fascination with Barca. Well it's because they are the best and we are used to being the best so after 2 resounding thumpings we have (as well as others) set them as the bench to step up to. It doesnt matter if we may only play them twice Sydney as unless we meet in the cup we also only play our title rivals twice and we need to beat them.

The key to beating Barca is simple. 2cm's man mark Xavi and Sergio and the forward line dont get the ball as much. Then all you have to hope for is a strong ref to NOT give everything Barca's way and see the cheats for what they really are.

If we were to impliment this v Barca with the squad we have now put Park on Xavi, Ando on Sergio with Fletcher following Messi. It would leave no structure to the midfield but the problem in the final was we went for area marking and we seen Evra follow a man and leave his area free for Pedro, Park go to the ball and leave Messi free then nobody followed Villa's three step move backwards to the edge of the box for the third. Man mark and hustle them everywhere (like Madrid in Del Ray final) and you will see the falling over/ full team crowding ref/ card brandishing/ feining injury/ etc, etc.

Problem lies with would our fans be happy going down this route of playing to stop the opposition rather than play our own game? If it meant a better chance of winning? Hell yeah imo.

I'll get a load of stick for this post no doubt but I don't care as this is how I would do it.

I've been waiting for fergie to sign a world class CM for the last 2 years and think Sneijder would be an awesome player but would need a no nonsense DM to back him up.

Anderson is a good attacking option but we keep playing him in the DM role, same goes for Carrick. If you look at Anderson highlights from his porto days on youtube, you'll see how much of a flare play he was.

Personally I think we need a solid DM first and foremost and if the funds are there either Sneijder or Nasri. Carrick should be sold, so to should Gibson. Park, Anderson and Fletcher would be excellent squad players and we've got Pogba and Ravel for the future. Sorry to say but never understood Giggs in CM, one footed, can't tackle or head and got shown big time in CL final. I'd love to see the following next season:

Keepers
De Gea (Danish dude as back up)

Back fours speaks for itself with (jones, smalling, Evans
as squad players)

Midfield
R to L Nani / Valencia - DeRossi / Fletcher / Park - Sneijder / Anderson - Young / Giggs (solid midfield with loads of flexibility to move players around if need be. Just keep Giggs away from CM)

Strikers
Rooney / Berba - Hernandez / Owen (Mechada needs a bit more time but can come in when Berba goes next season)

Carricks + Gibson = £18M
DeRossi + Sneijder = £50M

Go get em fergie

Can someone please find me a link which says Sir Al will not be signing anyone? An actual, big fat "NO"? You know why you can't...because there isn't one. The actual quote is:

"We started the season with the players we have and I am satisfied with that. We are not looking at the moment but we are looking at combinations of central midfielders now at the club".

Satisfied but not happy. Looking at but not commited to.

I'm not in the market to buy a Subway sandwich at the moment...but that doesn't mean I won't be next week, the week after or all the way up until the 1st of September. Don't take all the tabloid spin at face value people. Until Fergie says no and the window is shut, it means nothing.

look guys i have to say in a way i would be sad to see your team dip down but a quick run down of your squad heres what i think-park and evra too old past their best you should replace.andrson carrick gibson descent but not top-drawer.you need 2 midfielders in not 1.no giggs no scholes no vds next season all great players and you will miss them more than you think.chico was unknown last year he will be more closed down by teams this year.rooney brill player but just hope he does not go though his i want a pay-rise routine.a young keeper not used to the high ball english game i hope he will cope.i know lpool have a bit of work to do as well but i think this is a fair honsest analysis of your squad........lfc

Fergie yesterday..... "We've got a big squad now and we're going to need it, I think. It's a young squad too. We've got Chicharito to join us on tour, Darron Gibson's back home. Then we've got the young players at the club like Pogba, Ravel Morrison, the two Keane brothers... we've got a very healthy situation at the moment."

The Joey Barton rumour is classic 'misdirection'. It's a 'feeler' put out in the media to test fans' reaction to a different signing. Choose a player who is likely to be divisive (like Barton) and say that United are in for him. There's lots of shock and debate, and ultimately a more sensible player is signed who the fans can get behind. But without the Barton rumour to stir the pot first, fans' reaction would only be 'disappointment' to this EPL-based player in a summer when we have been linked with glamour names like Sneijder, Nasri and Modric.

So we should expect SAF to sign a midfielder from another Premier League team for a modest sum.

Can someone explain to me why when his beloved Liverpool have been humiliated by Hull Blaire Maine would still rather come on here and talk about United and who we are signing. To see him desperately trying to get Sydney's approval is embarrasing to say the least, but then you look at how much he is hated on his own site and you get some idea why he tries to make himself part of this site. He is like some desperate girlfriend who refuses to believe it's over and just hangs on. Well let me break it to you plainly Blaire "You are not wanted on this site or Liverpool's site" I suggest that you are given your own site where you can print your deluded rantings and leave us alone. Please don't respond Blaire, nobody cares what you think.....RAINFISHTROMOBNE

So SAF isn't going to spend money in this transfer window and barcelona have signed sanchez n are after fabregas so ED dont you think this squad wil be weaker than barcelona as we tryng to match them n we hv lost experince in goalkeeping department as wel n de gea and phil jones are still young... So basicaly we seem to be weaker than barca afta they sign fabregas....... Ed wat so you think {Ed002's Note - Manchester United have already spent £50M.}

Listen here All of these "leaked rumours" are nothing more than a distraction. I mean come on, Joey Barton? The scumbag put a cigar out in someones eye for goodness sake As if Sir Alex would sign anybody with such a reputation for violent behaviour off the field...

In the past, Fergie has used these so called "targets" to draw the attention of big spending Chelsea, Real Madrid and more recently City. Secretly encouraging these clubs to buy players who Fergie has no real intention of signing.

He will not tolerate greedy arrogant players who are in the game for the wrong reasons as they create dressing room unrest and are ultimately more trouble than they are worth. You cannot put a price on loyalty

I know Fergie isn't finished spending yet and I reckon it's gonna be either a complete unknown for less than £15mil or a superstar shocker

My moneys going on Cesc Fabregas. Call me mental but I can't think of anyone more suitable and I find it a little strange that he still hasn't signed for Barca (wonder if they're spent up or unable to promise him regular football?)

At the end of the day your guess is as good as mine and that's all these rumours are, guesses...

Fergie will keep it all on the down low and surprise us, just you wait :)
