I feel bad for Wenger being ridiculed. He is the reason why I respect the club Arsenal but this coming Sunday I put that respect aside because United wants to take advantage for all 3 points.

Really impressed with Hulk tonight against Barca, But barca are looking awesome and Fabregas comes off the bench to score and collect his 2nd trophy in a few days... Anyways, If wer to believe SAF and Gill then wer done in the transfer market, I for 1 am really happy with the squad, Number 20 on the way

What is it with these supposed "supporters" that say we have no chance against Real or Barca? We still have the same team that won us the premiere league and the community shield, got us to champions league final and fa cup semis. We gained loads of talent adding Jones, Young, and De Gea. In addition to that we are using Welbeck and Cleverly who are back from loan. So I ask, how are we not going to be able to compete?

Looking in at all you reds going on about Sneijder, guy is already on something like £180k a week, and from what I have heard wants £220k+ to come to United. These modern day footballers just get greedier and greedier, what difference will the £40k make, except letting him count his bank balance. You and I would be over the moon if we earned £180k a YEAR. Also he sounds the type that moans if he does not get his own way, and could be a disruptive influence. Anyway, you are Manchester United and you do not BEG players to come here, and this is from a Celtic fan. Hail hail Timalloy

Fergie extends an olive branch to the BBC then tells the FA today to " stop treating us like s**t "

One things for sure still not afraid to entertain a little controversy.

Coates could be going to Athletico Madrid, with Nacional reportedly discussing their bid. Would be funny if he didn't go to the scousers after them bigging him up so much.

We have got to be happy with our CL group opponents, all are a two hour plane rides away from Manchester. And pretty much zero traveling from airport to Stadiums. I will have to look up who we are playing in the PL when we return from these away trips.

I've been waiting for that big transfer all summer, constantly checking all the different gossip sites and twitter pages.
I was feeling a little disappointed in the lack of marquee signing but have just been looking at some stats on Tom Cleverley.

In the 2 games of the season his pass completion % is higher than anyone else I could see, inc. Silva at citeh, I know its just 2 games but goes to show this kid is a bit of a midfield maestro and will pass teams to death, think he and Anderson look good together but not convinced on any of our other CM beyond these 2.

Giggs (never has been a CM)
Park (will put in a good shift but should be used as back up or 5th man maybe)
Carrick (inconsistent)
Fletcher (not top level)

I think the attacking style and quick fluid passing has been largely down to these 2 in the middle and if either are absent I think our whole dynamic changes.

We really could do with a top class CM as we are really lacking.

Just my thoughts

Sydney, JRed, I am not hiding away despite last night's poor results for Scottish football, but I am a Celtic SUPPORTER, good or bad I will never abandon the hoops. There are quite a few english people having a laugh just now but we will be back, stronger.
You only have to look at your own club's history, when you were RELEGATED and people laughed at Man Utd, but you fought your way back, admittedly with big investment in players and SKY tv money etc.. but you did it and are now back as one of the top football clubs in the world.
We are Celtic and our name is known throughout the football world also and we will be back among Europe's elite sooner rather than later. hail hail Timalloy Ps thank God for Shamrock Rovers also

All i can say is thank god none of you are in charge at United You are either not old enough to remember the 80's and who we were and how we played then or just plain stupid. Utd like all other teams are a business and survival is all important rather than marquee signings to appease the ignorant (like that works anyway) Give the manager, Gill and owners a break. Despite your ignorant remarks we continue to dominate English football. Get a grip and get behind your team

Afternoon everyone

With gills latest statement, I'm curious to know how many think we are done in the market and how many think there is a rabbit in the hat?
Agree: no more signings
Disagree: at least one more

Why are so many of you so hung up on the Champions League. At the end of the day it's a bonus to win it, not the be all and end all.

The Priority is the League, every year it has to be the main priority., and yet again United are the best equipped to win it.

Chelsea are still an ageing team with the likes of Cech, Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Anelka all 30ish or over.

City are not going to win the league. They are not a team, just a bunch of individuals with too many ego's in the pack.

Arsenal are finished, whilst Liverpool have spent a lot of money bust still don't seem to have improved all that much.

United however have a new exciting look, they are strong as a team and the spirit inside the club is probably the best it has been since 2006-07.

Forget the Cash Cup, let the scousers brag about how many they've won, let them talk about their history, we'll concentrate on the present and future.

I'd much rather let this group of players develop for a couple of years and then win the CL, than bring in mercenaries who care little for the club on massive salaries for massive fees, with no guarantees that they'll improve the current squad.

It just shows how very childish you can be,Blair posted some stats about our new player a proven international who is still only 20.The only thing you could do was throw insults and snipe. Is this what green eyed monsters do because Liverpool are so busy in the transfer market improving the squad,as man utd have only replaced some players.

Ah back from the sunshine of spain to the rain of Manchester, I wonder why any player would prefer Barcelona to Manchester. I am so pleased to realise that someone has had the common sense to realise that the argument with the BBC was both embarrasing and also had nothing to do with the club and was a personal matter. The BBC were never going to back down as everything they said was the truth and there is no way that the club should have been used as it was to punnish the BBC. My question now is what is the point of Phelan now? what does he actually do? Or maybe that is the point do we really want someone in the backroom staff that says we are crying out for a world class player in the middle of the park now give us the money. Its good to be back. **Clarification on Current Sneijder Situation**

Earlier in the summer Sneijder was offered the chance to join United, not formally at this stage but through "informal talks". Sneijder did not and has not said a categoric 'yes', but his agent said to David Gill he is interested in the move.

Further to this, Sneijder was given the figures of a potential contract, and at this stage Inter said basically, "If Wes wants the move and United meet the asking price, he can leave".

However, Sneijder was slightly reluctant to take a pay cut and so United became disinterested and frustrated at Sneijder's reluctance to jump at the chance. As a result, Inter took this to mean Sneijder didn't want to move and so weeks dragged on and we find ourselves here, with Inter no longer willing to sell so close to the end of the window.

Sneijder however does want to move to United, and he has created an unfortunate situation where he will most likely not get his move unless he kicks up a storm, and fast.

So any move hangs in the balance and it will go to deadline day despite David Gill's denial saying he doesn't "think" he will make a signing."""
dear sir
you should print your own newspaper
you managed to perpetuate a lie until the last day
and keep everyone interested till the very end
well done
and to everyone else who contributed to this entire wesley sneijder nonsense
it was always going to be these 3 signings and no one else
as predicted from february

Can anyone tell me how they know what sneijder wage demands are from a source other than newspapers.

It was reported in every newspaper across europe that eto was being bought for 30 mill and was going to be the highest paid player in the world on something mental like 300k a week .
Only for the russki's to confirm that they bought him for 18.5 mill and are paying him 170 k a week.
jred"""
dear mr jred
ngiak for one is super glad that this crap is all over
after asking a very unnecessary question
knowing that no one here knows the answer
and you subsequently answered your own question with an example
that no one really knows the answer
its been a boring slow few weeks...
