Eds do yous know of any interest in salah of Basel, seems to be getting some good reviews and is tracked by arsenal and Liverpool atm. Also if anyone has seen him play could they tell me a little profile as iv only seen clips

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Liverpool, Dortmund, Spurs and Fiorentina have shown an interest in Mohamed Salah, and Basel will look to sell in January after dropping out of the Champions League.}

Was thinking of whom could be a good rock like player in our mid seems though felliani hasn't had the best of starts and was thinking what about Sandro from spurs. Great player good from range and a definite rock

I may get some stick for this why not have a mini raid on Chelsea, Cole is soon out of contract and surplus atm, although not the youngest could be a great CHEAP fix at left back whilst our youth develop.

The other is another whom looks to be offloaded, Kevin de brynne. Have always for the looked a real talent and would be a great little addition to our mid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nah you're alright.

Rumours of interest in Roma's defender Benatia, possibly bidding for him in January

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's only just moved there, is a starter in a team in inspired form doubt he'd leave half way through

Can't beleive Cardiff have sacked their manager he has done a fantastic job there. He will get another job soon.probably will get the Watford job again as his family are still living there.
What does the owner think that they should be wining the prem league, deluded. That's the problem with foreign owners like tan and glazers who are clueless about football they don't understand that to succeed you need to spend and keep reinventing the team. Untd could easily recoup 50 mil by selling some players and reinvest that on 1or 2 top quality players then give the youth players a chance to prove themselves in the team. Can't do any worse than the likes of Nani, Anderson young etc
Look forward to seeing the likes of Powell getting a chance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You are talking complete rubbish here.

I agree about Mackay being sacked for the wrong reason. but Tan wanted his own man, there is nothing wrong with that. - maybe they should had done it in a more dignified manner but the owner didn't want him.

your rant then going on to the Glazers is complete rubbish. The way they purchased the club although Genius from a business point of view isn't and wasn't right.

However, if you assess them on how they've MANAGED the club they've actually done a fantastic job.

I unlike most have no issue with the Glazers as management, I just have an issue with the way the club was purchased.

Agree0 Disagree0

While we all think the Glaziers aren't perfect you can definately say without a shadow of a doubt they are damned clever, buy the best club in the world and not use your own money then have the golden teat to save the rest of your crumbling empire is damned clever

Agree0 Disagree0

Moon the glazers have been detromental to mufc, the fact we've won during their stewardship is down to fergies genius and no small amount of luck in later years, to think or say otherwise saddens me, I will leave it to people who know you better to reprimand you,

Agree0 Disagree0

The Moon

They have managed the club fantastically? I assume you are basing this on the revenue increase and sponsorship deals over the past 8 years? What good are those things if they aren't put back into the team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Midfield General - The fact they left SAF too it shows that they're smart guys and decent owners to some degree.

I honestly believe they've backed SAF in the market when he's wanted to be backed.

we didn't spend big prior to the Glazers and we haven't since they took over. we've made some great signings, paid some big wages and competed on a global scale. we may not have won every battle but we signed RVP, Berbatov, Jones, Smalling & De Gea with other big clubs trying to sign them. - that shows me they will do what they need to get their man.

GAGUS - I'm talking from a management point of view though mate. I see the club as a club but they see it as a business, of which they've managed it incredibly well.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Moon

Nonsense

Before they arrived we bought players like Rooney and Rio, made statements like Cole and Keane, even Veron made a statement and Ronaldo at £12.7m was before they controlled finances. Our recent successes have generally relied on what was bought or developed pre Glazer.

The club has failed to invest at the level needed even in the summer just gone and when the £80m from Ronaldo arrived it propped up the accounts rather than purchased a top player.

I do not agree with your assessment at all of the Glazers and they have a lot to prove

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I think you're talking rubbish Moon I'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moon

I have to disagree mate. We have spent something like 400 million in interest and fees, just imagine what we could have done with that kind of money invested in players.

It is quite sad but the reality is in the late 2000's we had the opportunity to create one of europe's biggest dynasties proven by 3 champions league finals on 5 years but failed to reinvest and sat there watched players like Ronaldo leaving, Scholes, Hargreaves, Evra, Ferdinand never being replaced.

They have been a sponsorship success but a failure in terms of investing in footballing terms in the club.

I understand the concept of leverage buyouts but unfortunately we got bought at the worst time ever where there was an overextension of credit and it would not have happened during normal times and they would have had to put up a lot more equity and the structure of the purchase would have been significantly different and it's impact on the club.

All in all sad that it took a bunch of yanks taking advantage of availability of credit to buy one of the biggest sporting franchises in the world with very little protection and I blame the previous management of not having had some sort of a poison pill protection somewhere in there.

I think your wrong Cardiff as well. He upset the fans with the farce on the clubs colours, and now sacked a manager who's done no wrong. If he wanted his own man why not wait till the summer, its not like their bottom.

1st of all. Happy Xmas to everyone.Even though we have had a mini revival recently, I'm still not a fan of Moyes. I really hope he proves me wrong. I know he has done well recently, but let's see where we are end of the season.im surprised to see us so close to top 4 I must admit. But I'm happy at the same time that we seem to have turned the corner.
I agree he needs players to be brought in.and hope he is backed during the transfer window. I doubt we will make any signings during jan, but we are desperate for a few players especially at lb. and cm.
We also need a clear out. Start with Anderson, Nani, one dimensional Valencia, and young, even though he scored a few goals he is not good enough for utd, neither is wellbeck, he need so many chances to score its unreal. I know he works hard but he just doesn't have the class to go with it.

Lol! We never know what's around the corner. Maybe Rooney or RVP could go?.
I still think Baines/Coentrao and a Midfielder come Jan. Can't see Koke leaving a title contending team tbh (although we may loan back?).

Hi all, I hope you had a good Christmas.
My prediction is that by Valentines day Manchester United will be in 1/4 final of champions league, last 16 of fa cup, final of league cup and 3rd in prem league. 7 points behind leaders city. I would be pleased with that. I also believe there will 2 new signings in Jan (LB and CM and 3 departures (perhaps 1 big name departure).
I wish all posters here a happy new year. Keep the faith!

Cheers in advance!

Just bought 4 tickets to the Cardiff game

take my misses and kids why not!

Last game I went to (west ham) was quite loud for our lot am hoping it will be the same again come 28th Jan at 7:45

Maybe we could have a new signing I can watch by then

I really think cabaye, koke or even lallana can give us something different

Good win yesterday but the bigger question is what has happened to HoneyBadger? has Gav chnged his sign on again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its been a while! I've not posted in ages (under any name lol) but been checking in to read the posts again recently. Been busy with work/study and will be again during 2014 but will try to pop in from time to time.

Major Ups and downs so far but the last few weeks we have seemed better. Some negatives to yesterdays game but tbh I got more faith from seeing us come from behind (a la fergy) than if we had just coasted the game. It almost felt like we were back to our old ways, almost.

Still plenty of issues, not least our many injuries but also the obvious lack of quality in cm, lb, wing positions. We need to invest and i'm sure we will, hopefully at least 1 in Jan but its always difficult to do deals in this window.

Anyhow - most important is to say merry Christmas ajh, eds and posters. let's all hope for a 2014 of many positives for united.

Peace to one and all!

gav

Rooney to me is just like Torres, flattering to decieve and I and you know neither will be the player they once were and remember you can't quote stats.

Marcellius Wallace

-------------

I know you come on here for banter and a bit of a wind up marcel but when you say things like the above it removes any credibility from what you are saying. It isn't banter or wind up, it's just plain rubbish. I read that and thought everything else you say must be a load of crap as well.

You love to come on here and tell united how bad we are, where the weaknesses are and how we are on a downward spiral to mediocrity, and you state it as fact, rather than the truth which is what you hope happens. Fans of other clubs have been waiting for fergie to retire because they realise it makes united mortal again, we are beatable, but by coming on here and saying it's happening before it actually has stinks of desperation and bitterness. We understand you want moyes to fail, we understand you are scared of how good united are, but your posts are more and more desperate.

I am not really going to dignify the Rooney and Torres comparison with a response because I assume it was a joke, but may I ask why we can't use stats? Is it because stats would prove you totally wrong? You seem to be allowed to use stats when you talk about games won and points and performances, but when stats would prove you wrong they are 'not allowed'?

Keep posting on here mate because we are having a tricky time of late with our transition and posts like yours showing us how scared of united Chelsea still are cheer us all up.

GDS2,

I appreciate you are the self elected banter Police but that you see Rooney as World Class or anything close in his current form shows how deluded you really are.

If you honestly believe that being fit and running about a lot with the odd old flash of brilliance is world class then you are the banter clown.

Stats I have been told not to use because they don't show you in a good light. Thus I now assume it works both ways, or as always only when it suits.

You call me worried and was it not your pitiful little post on the other posts page saying how other fans were saying pleeeaasse pleaaase fail Man United but then at the end saying, we need a win I hope we win. Sad to the extreme.

It is you CTR and Brenda who can't face what has happended, you have to give it large and make out I'm talkiing 5h1te and as usual you avoid every other thing In my post but the the fact Rooney is not now and never will be the player he once was. You think different but then you are wearing the biggest pair of rose tinted Glasses I've ever seen son.

Wasn't it also you who posted by Christmas things will have evened themselves out and we will be in our more realistic position of 2nd or 3rd.

Well they have even out and you are in your realistic position are you not.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2013 13:52:12
As someone pointed out further down the page, Rooney has had a hand in 30 goals. If that's bad form I'll take it. You are clearly worried as the messiah Jose is struggling despite wasting huge sums in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marcellus, As you so frequently haunt the Manchester United pages (strange I know given you're a Chelsea fan?) you will no doubt have seen that over the past 12-18 months Rooney has been the subject of much debate. Many people on here do not think he will ever be the player he was, others feel that with better fitness and his current form he can reach those levels once agains. Rooney is a top player. World class - debatable, depends on your definition I suppose.

Torres however, has been on a downward spiral ever since his move to Chelsea. Injuries haven't helped him but to compare him and Rooney is ridiculous. Rooney still manages to positvely effect games creating and scoring goals something Torres has failed to do with any level of consistency.

As for our current position, fortunately titles aren't given out for your position come Christmas. Points wise we are closer to the top of the league than we were a few weeks ago. With what appears to be greater consistency, other teams currently above us playing each other and throwing in the odd shock result i.e. the Everton result this weekend then moving into the top 4 is quite doable over the next few matches.

The season is long, and the league is much closer than we've seen in many a year with at present 5 teams looking capable of mounting a challenge. It will be interesting come May. Until then Marcellus, you keep thinking we are worse than we are and theat Chelsea are better than they are. We'll see in May who is correct

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol u are so blind classellus, sure we are far from being the great team we are used to being, we realize our club needs us now and so we stand and fight the cause, not trolling on other pages telling them how bad their team is while not noticing the familiar signs that our own team is in turmoil.

Your strikers have scored a combined 5 PL goals between them and u have the nerve to come on here telling us our striker who is really performing this season is terrible, I m sure u appreciate the irony of that.

No it was not me who predicated anything and I shall not untill this crazy season starts to settle down.
I dnt pretend to proclaim the end of an era at all, our fans have class even though we are usally portrayed in a less than desirable light by bitter supporters like yourself.

Once again merry xmas Marcellus I hope u had a good one mate and ure bitterness did not ruin a very special time of year for u :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Noname

Wrote something similar but did not get posted. 75 million in the summer and 100 million the previous year and JM still not happy with the team who has no injuries and sets up to defend at all costs. People who thought he would suit us, he is the opposite of everything everyone loves about us, wingers and forwards and attacking football.

Marcellus

Spend another 100 million and I am sure you will come good or city can just spend 40 on Mangala and kill this league ad we can all play for second place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marcellius,

No idea what you are banging on about mate, you seem a little angry, tough Christmas? Santa not get you that replica Chelsea shirt with di Matteo on the back?

I have never at any point said we can't use stats so I am a little confused. Also, I am sad for wanting my team to win?

One question, when did I say Rooney was world class?

Hope every United fan has just read that post from you and had a good old giggle, you seem very stressed about something and utterly deluded.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2013 14:57:09
Ha ha,

Stressed, yep of course if that makes you feel better GDS2 i'll make out I'm stressed for you something else for you to hide behind.

CTR nice to see you back here, did it take long to extract your nose from the Gooners ar5e5.

It makes me laugh that you think I don't appreciate how well or not Chelsea are playing, hasn't Jose said that, didn't he say a cardboard cut out could score against us. Yet with all our poor play we don't find ourselves struggling to break into the top six.

You are literally desperate for new arrivals, desperate to get quality, desperate to get players back off loan, to sign Cabaye or any other above average midfielder.

You actually need them to hold on to your 6th place, like I said didn't Liverpool and City show you how far you are away from the title, which by all accounts you already hold, you've won 20 of them, you've got history. zzzzzzzz

Remind me also who beat City 2-1 and who lost 4-1 to them?

GDS2 it's the posts from you boys on this page that everyone pops over to have a laugh at. Now that is fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yawn. I swear u are just copying and pasting the same crap u have said for over a year now zzzzz

God I would hate to live in your bitter filled mind I really would and that's a fact!

Cardboard cutout lol I like that, ill give jose this for all his short comings as a man and manager he does give us some funny sound bites.

Wonder how long Roman will give him. 1 season? Maybe even 2 u think?

Merry xmas classellus

Agree0 Disagree0

Marc.,, whatever your name is. U said "we won 20 we've got history zzzzz". For me, that shows your lack of understanding and respect.
We have won the league 20 times, and it is a shame it irks you and your lot, but I tell you what, tough s. t, get over it and try to live with it.
If you don't recognise class and history, then you'll never aspire to it, there again, that's chelski fc for you. No class. Have a good Xmas!
Ps. We're not going away, so grow up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where has Sydney gone
He predicted you lot would be 20 points ahead of the scousers by xmas

Agree0 Disagree0

MG, I very much doubt we will finish 20 points ahead of Liverpool as I predicted at the beginning of the season. The manager transition has been tougher than I first thought, but I still believe we will finish higher than Liverpool this season. We need to concentrate on a top four finish this season, rebuild between now and September and next season we will be better. City will win the title this season. I see them winning the title comfortably. I think Arsenal will falter as per usual, get knocked out of the cups and then fall away in the league around March time. Then AW would have gone at least ten years without a trophy. Horrendous if you ask me ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing horrendous is your predictions.

Any way hope you and your family had a good Xmas and utd have a crap new year:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga gooner, on a united page talking about Liverpool, ffs. And a Chelsea fan talking about us again! One day we might be interested to come on to your page when there are a few more signs of life.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again you mention me in a post which has nothing to do with me, and your pathetic attempt at humour is embarrassing. Shall I apply for a restraining order now? The reputation of you Chelsea fans and your sexual tendencies are a little disconcerting (let me know if you need me to explain what that large word means) to say the least.

So 2 games to go for our 4 straight wins

Although I thought we would maybe able to get 2 points away from top 4 I don't think it will happen now and also we have Chelsea coming as well

I think moyes is starting to get his style across with the midfield beginning to improve week by week!

Honestly think cabaye is the player were missing prem proven and does score goals

Any other players would be a luxury but I think we may just recall nick Powell and play him cm which I wouldn't mind

Norwich away i'm going for a 2-0 to us with Rooney and januzaj scoring

Have a great new year people

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A liverpool loss and us winning gets us to 2 points of top 4 depending on how Everton and Newcastle go.

We will be a lot closer to the top come end of January and in the top 4 if we win our next 3. In a way it after our tough opening schedule we seem to have one big game a month in the new year against one of the top teams and then quiet a few reasonable fixtures. I believe we can accumulate quite a few points and will push up and as stated before " We will get top 4" but the real question is how close do we get t the top of the table :)

73/74 points will get you a top 4 spot and I reckon 82/83 points wins the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Careful Shahram, that sort of positive talk will get you blasted on this page.

Who would have thought, teams ahead of us dropping points and us winning a few games :)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2013 11:47:45
Do you really believe that points is the question here, you have had 3 wins on the bounce and prior to that a little unbeaten run and you have managed to overtake Southampton who have got 5 from a possible 18 and you're ahead of Spurs on goal difference who just sacked their manager.

It is not the points, did you not watch Liverpool and City, did it not show you how far domestically you are behind, let alone in Europe.

You talk of getting Carrick and RVP back, were you not playing the same garbage with them at the end of last season beginning of this.

Now you're talking about recalling youngsters in January. Some of you really seem to believe you've still got 5 or 6 world class players in your squad.

Rooney to me is just like Torres, flattering to decieve and I and you know neither will be the player they once were and remember you can't quote stats.

I think it will take a while longer for it to sink in how far you've fallen and how big a job Moyes has on his hands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol love the fact your example of how far we have fallen dnt include Chelsea!

Rooney like Torres? Lol its statements like that which makes any post from you laughable.

While we are closing the gap points wise I see the mighty Chelsea are struggling against stoke and palace, while somehow being allowed to park the team bus on a pitch in north London!

Write us off mate that's fine, we dnt want the attention yet, we will just go about our business.

Strange how u disappeard recently and after 4 points from 6 u are back! Fickle does not even begin to describe u classellus!

Agree0 Disagree0

Your team is playing like sh*ep, I would be more worried about your own team than ours. Too bad your leading scorer plays for Everton and how is Mata doing this year. You enjoy watching your great team park the bus on every tough away fixture, such a negative team

Agree0 Disagree0

Marcellus

United are still in all competitions, starting to win games frequently and are 6 points off the "great" Chelsea with 20 games to go.

I reckon you're getting too big for your boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2013 07:11:19
City are good at home but not that much good away.Yesterday even at home they were beatable. Sterling was wrongly given offside in first half, he missed a sitter in the second half, Johnson missed a great chance. City can outmuscle any top club in Europe. City has a right combination of physical and technical mix right now. If they beat Barca in CL I think they can atleast reach the final. City's counter looks devastating in their recent games and that is the main weapon Barca are fear of.

Whenever we played fully fit Hargreaves we had that edge in midfield against any team.

Any hargreaves like player and Koke alongside him will make our midfield solid imo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

City were there for the taking last night, they looked average defensively and Liverpool got their tactics spot on. They are badly missing Aguero, he is a massive player for them. It's like Liverpool without Suarez or MU without RvP. Damn I hope RvP returns against Norwich. We could really do with the RvP from last season and Rooney of this season gelling.
