48mins, milenkovic in jan and douglas costa but juve would prefer summer that's about it until the manager situation is sorted.

Think Costa would make a huge difference to the right hand side which is very unbalanced.

Iโ€™d drop Lukaku and play Rashford through the middle, flanked by Costa and Martial or Sanchez. Would be a very high tempo attack.

Milenkovic and maybe Douglas Costa look like the only possibilities.

Personally I would rather the club didn't sign either of them.

Firstly, Milenkovic looks decent, yet he is clearly a Mourinho type defender. Very physical, yet nothing special with the ball at his feet, he also hasn't shown himself to be a leader or defensive organiser. So I don't think he strengths us all that much and has neither of the qualities we are crying out for in a central defender (ball playing leader) .

Secondly, I would steer clear of Costa. He has all the talent, yet his attitude stops him from achieving his potential. That is why Bayern Munich were happy to let him go, and why Juventus are now. I don't think he has what it takes to make it in the EPL attitude wise, and I feel we have enough players with a poor attitude.

If these are the two players we are looking at I would much rather give Tuanzebe and Chong some games and see if they can make a case for themselves long term until the new manager comes in.

Milenkovic seems to attract a lot of interests, may be he has something special on him.

Kenedyandy, lots of players attract attention. How many of those sides are "top sides" with league title ambitions? How many will firm up their interest with a bid?

Also for someone so highly rated as a CB he has actually played many games this season at RB.

For me he isn't much better than what we have if at all at the moment. He might go on to become better in the future though. However, he doesn't have any traits or skills we currently lack while maybe only being marginally better than what we have. So I think he might be best avoided or at least not pursued until we have a manager who definitely wants him.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Dec 2018 16:39:48
Atletico and Juve are top sides. He might not be what the new manager will like but he is a decent player on my view. Anyway it's better to wait and see what the upcoming manager will want.

Much rather we look to the youth before signing.

Players like Chong, Gomes and Greenwood could cover RW and if one stand out we are sorted. similar story at centre back with Axel and RoShaun.

28 Dec 2018 15:05:22
He's been the same as the others. The attitude has been perfect and thatโ€™s key - you should be tired towards the end of every single game. Heโ€™s been top class and weโ€™re looking to build a team around him of course, but there are so many quality players [in this squad]. "Ole on pogba
Are people still desperate to get rid of the virus?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

28 Dec 2018 15:36:23
we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but regardless of what is the players should still give 100 percent, pogba can't deny himself that he's been way below par for weeks.

then all of a sudden he's playing out of his skin, its a bit of a p take out of the fans who pay a lot of money supporting the club.

its a case of let's start fresh what's gone is gone let's look forward, i said on another post today a pogba playing at his best will only make us better.

Agree4 Disagree0

28 Dec 2018 15:42:34
Yes we are. He hasn't got a strong head to play for a club like us and will down tools once things don't go his way.

Agree6 Disagree1

28 Dec 2018 16:34:45
On his day Pogba is in the top bracket of footballer's, but that day hasn't been nearly as frequent as it should.

You also have to take into account that ed002 has consistently said he doesn't want to be at the club. Him and his agent have been hawking him around to anyone and everyone. He doesn't have the best interests of the club at heart.

It's only a matter of time before he downs tools again. The reason Pogba and Jose clashed was because they're both egomaniac's. Pogba scored a goal the other day, held his hands in the air and mouthed "Paul Pogba, Paul Pogba"

A fantastic player he may be on his day. But with the right scouting we could improve on him and I don't think it would be too difficult.

New coach new era every player starts with a clean slate to an extent.
Like most jred you critisised him heavily you thought he would be sold last summer. What do you think?
Players form comes and goes but effort should be there all the time.

If he plays to the top of his form he can be hugely influential in every game but he has a lot to prove to a lot of people.
If he continues like he did last 2 games and puts those sort of performances in 90 times out of 100 then people won't be long in backing him and forgetting his lacklustre start.
Lots of positivity around and with the odd exception nobody is sniping. Great to see.
Lots of big challenges ahead let's see who rises to the occasion. Lot of players playing for their injured careers right now 'lets see who wants it and who is up to it over the next 5 months. Ole included.

Agree3 Disagree1

28 Dec 2018 20:35:35
I wouldn't of been surprised if he had left in the summer . It was obvious he wasn't happy under the special one.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2018 20:40:32
Do you want him to go as you previously said jred?

Personally, I don't think he wants to be here and I would be happy to see him leave.

No denying that on his day he can turn out and give a spectacular performance but those are few and far between. He is an incredibly divisive but influential person and player. I'd much prefer that he leaves in the summer. Make way for a player who actually wants to be here.

Can't ever remember saying I wanted pogba to go?
I said I thought he might go and said several times I though all this talk of he needs to play lm or needs x or y beside him was rubbish and excuses .
Is there anyone you would keep?

28 Dec 2018 22:57:32
Lots of changes need to be made. A lot of players in the current squad have either underperformed or not been good enough now for many years. I don't think you can argue that.

Personally, smalling, jones, Valencia, young, fellaini to name 5 who i believe should be moved on.

I think as Ed002 has said several times Pogba's future doesn't lay in the EPL. On his day and playing at full potential he is one of the best players on the planet.

Yet his lack of focus and his inflated ego will stop him achieving that on a consistent basis. If we can move him on, then that is probably best for everyone involved.

Let's hope Ole can get the best out of him until that point.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Dec 2018 12:33:27
I want him to stay stay can be a top class player under the right manager and in the right team.
We won't go out and buy a better player than pogba .

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚I always give an opinion and back it up.
You left Shaw and martial off your list.

29 Dec 2018 13:29:44
Haha, yeah right jred. You take everybodies quotes as gospel mate. You give others opinions. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Left them off my list? The concerns many of us including myself had with both Shaw and martial was their work ethic. It was challenged by Jose and they both put the head down and turned it all around. At least a couple of things he seemed to get right.

I wouldn't want to see two players who have worked incredibly hard to change their mentality leave. But the Shaw and martial of the last couple of years and two players I wouldn't want to have.

We should get the best out of players like Pogba (talented with baggage) and move them on just as they decline. Same as RvN, Stamp, Kanchelskis, Sharpe, etc.

Surprising to read the criticism of Diogo Dalot in various places from united fans. The lad looks a real talent. Ok, has been caught out defensively a couple of times but he's a young lad learning his trade at the top level. The defensive side to his game will come with experience. Attacking wise I think he's great, nice to see a right back getting forward and into the box to try and score or assist. I hope Dalot can nail down a first team spot in the months to come as he is someone in this new United way of playing that can really prosper.

welsh red we have to find some sort of way to moan it can't all be sunshine and roses.

jokes aside i like the kid, give him another 12-18 months of regular first team football and the views will be different, finally a defender that can cross a ball.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Dec 2018 10:08:36
Too early to judge. A defender should be able to defend, that's his job if he doesn't the defencive line is obviously weaker than it should be. In the modern game -and Ole mentioned this a few days ago- the full backs have to push on and fly up that line. So its not an easy position to play but he should be first and foremost a defender.

Denis Irwin could do it, so could Evra . Kyle Walker not so much.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Dec 2018 10:41:27
Whoever plays right back for us is going to have one tough job on their hands as things currently stand.

Primarily because we do not play with a right winger. Mata or lingard always drift in which has its benefits but it leaves a whole side of the pitch for the full back to cover offensively and leaves him with minimal protection defensively.

On the left its a different story with martial playing left wing which means shaw can hang back and leave martial to take on his full back 1 on 1 which he is getting better and better at.

Find an equivalent of martial for the right wing (chong or a new signing) and diogo dalot should have an easier time of it.

Welsh, it's the tired old game of judging personnel on a game by game basis, rather than over a period of time. The joy of living in a disposable society with a short attention span.

I would rather watch a flying Dalot down the right wing make some great runs and crosses along with the odd defensive mistake as he learns his trade. Instead of a boring Antonio Valencia holding back, playing the safe option everytime.
