Credit to Janusaj, he has created havoc down the right since he came on.

Huge improvement in the second half, Januzaj doing what ADM should have been in the first. Maybe ADM should be given a break for a week to sort himself out because he doesn't look right, might do him to the world of good.

A word of praise also for the much criticized Wayne Rooney who has now scored at least 10 goals per season for the last 11 years - the first premier league player to accomplish that feat. In fact he's averaging 20 goals a season.

If he continues to play at #9 or #10 he'll beat United's goal scoring record, and yet there are still many who belittle his achievements, begrudge him his pay check, and will never regard him as a United great.

I thought we were excellent in the second half personally. It was a breath of fresh air watching us play compared to some of the performances this season.

Januzaj plays best on the right wing. I think this is the first time Lvg played him there?

I thought we moved it faster and got into better positions and i agree much better in the second half. Still would like to see more shots from outside the box as their goalie spilled almost every shot. Big games coming now and hopefully we will get some form. Need to score earlier in games a sit takes the pressure off the players.

Shawthing, that's a pretty bizarre sat to pick, 11 is an odd number. Lampard scored over 10 goals a season for 10 years from midfield, Shearer scored hatfuls as a CF, Henry was immense for about 7 years. I'm not having a downer on Rooney who is giving his all right now but let's not find obscure stats to try and justify how 'brilliant' he is.

There is no tenable way that LVG can be kept on after this season. How can someone who has assembled the most expensive squad in the history of the EPL not be sacked after a seaosn where we are scrapping for fourth. With a squad costing that much it is criminal not to be fighting for the title let alone facing Europa league next season. Imagine how long ago a side like Leicester would have been relegated with him at the helm. can't wait for the usual response defending him after a season where he has won less than 50% of his games and destroyed some players with his joke philosophy. His football style is painful and the sooner he is sacked the better i would rather finish outside the top 4 if it meant him sacked than being in the champs league next year with him in charge. Pretty much every game has been a struggle this term not too many games including cup games against amateur sides have been convincing which is in excusable

Manchester City spent 600m over few years, and Chelsea also spent a fortune to build their squads to where they are today. There's also been some serious transfer price inflation since then. Even when they spent the money it took some time for everything to gel, and a number of managers. It isn't an immediate return. In his first year at Liverpool, Rodgers was lambasted.

The difference between success and failure is often the final ball, and that is where teamwork and timing are critical, and it's also where we have been so deficient, especially in the last 2 or 3 weeks.

There's very few posters to this site who had much positive to say about any of last year's squad. So, really, given that and the general lack of contribution from our new stars, what do you expect?

I'm not defending LVG here, just asking for a bit of perspective both in regards to the amount of money we've spent and also your expectations. Over the last few games we've dominated possession. We've also made some sloppy defensive errors, and failed to create final chances, but one could see some embryonic development - especially without RVP in the line up.

LVG only signed rojo, blind, falcao, di maria, shaw and herrera, hows he responsible for assembling the rest of the squad?

and lvg has won 53.13 percent of his matches at united he's only lost 6 out of 32 games, get a grip, every week is the same crap about the manager being sacked.

makes me laugh reading some of the reaction to games, we had 30 attempts on goal today, we played with a much faster approach we passed quicker and dominated the game, we did things today people have been crying out for yet still negative comments.

we are now 4 points in-front of Southampton, 5 in front of Liverpool and 6 in front of spurs, so the pressure is on everyone else trying to catch up.

we looked miles more of a threat with falcao and rooney hopefully this is the start of our "click"

Great 3 points. I actually thought LVG was complaining when he mentioned not having any 20 goal strikers, not that it was one of his targets. Way to go. Also I haven't noticed LVG take RVP off for Fellaini all season.

Our defense is really poor, so shaky! We need higher tempo and be more threatening.

Hoping for a better second half

28 Feb 2015 15:58:35
Not the best first half, lots of possession but only 2 shots on goal, think both ADM and Falcao are struggling with the physicality of the Premier League, unfortunately 3-5-2 has also made a return and we have looked vulnerable at the back, Rojo should be playing in the centre of that defence not Evans, the lad looks devoid of any confidence and terrified on making any kind of mistake.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 12:07:18
I think after making a statement like that its the beginning of the end for lvg.

how can you get 100% effort from every player when you slag them off in public?

started off with shaw now the strikers. yes they missed a few chances but how can you judge any of them when our style of play is so slow its hampering some of there best qualities. cannot believe he has come out and made public comments like that.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

28 Feb 2015 12:18:23
Let's not forget Di Maria as well. I do cringe when I hear his statements, someone needs to tell him how ridiculous he sounds. I put some of it down to translation but he is clearly blaming the players. Not a good move

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 12:30:56
the best attributes any of the top managers have in todays game is man management. gone are the days of trying to rule like a dictator even sir alex mellowed as the years went by and knew how to handle the different personalities in the dressing room. lvg hasn't been getting the maximum out of our top stars and he defo won't be getting it if he continues like this.

Agree2 Disagree1

28 Feb 2015 13:19:49
So what, he's right though. RVP and Falcoa haven't being doing what they're capable and he's just saying what we're all thinking. They'll either be motivated by the comments and play to how we all know they can or sulk like little girls. I don't want sulkers I want professionals who are able to take criticism.

LVG knows that they're 20+ goals strikers every football fan does, but they're not doing it.Simple.

Oh and before the Rooney debate is brought up LVG obviously felt the above mentioned could bang in the goals which allows Rooney to play in midfield. Which is why we now see Rooney up top

Interesting last year the manager got slagged off or saying we needed 5 or 6 world class players to compete for winning the CL and got slagged for that and that it effected the players moral and confidence lol, this guy says 10 times worst stuff week in week out and some seem to be kay with it. His brand of football i'd his own worse enemy and not the strikers.

Agree4 Disagree3

28 Feb 2015 14:28:52
I think LVG was saying it can also be down to the players - it's not necessarily only the manager's fault. and let's face it, many of the players have not been performing well even taking into account the systems employed. Virtually all of them have come under the microscope on this site.

As for Di Maria, he hasn't looked like a 60m player of late and that's obvious to everyone including no doubt ADM himself, but by suggesting he is not the only one at fault, it deflects the criticism elsewhere.

However, as is well argued below, if the whole team is playing badly for an extended period of time with no improvement, then you have to look at the manager.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 17:21:22
I am against LVG on this one. We have three 20 goal type strikers in the squad, and they are not blowing chances left and right. The issue is lack of service because we have not been playing with enough width.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 09:29:54
"It's not always the fault of the manager when a player is not performing well, I can tell you, " he added. "I think not only Di Maria [is struggling], " Lvg

It was only a matter of time until the manager started to publicly blame the players, he has a go at rooney, falcao, rvp and di maria, i wonder how that's going to go down .

That interview spells out exactly what's wrong with the club this season. Despite being charge for the best part of 8 months van Gaal hasn't been successful in implementing his philosophy [sic]. Van Gaal original argued that we would see improvement after 3 months, then 6, and now it's the players' fault. A rational manager would question if the philosophy is a good match for the league or the club. An ego maniac, however, will refuse to see any problem with themselves or their ideas, and blame everything and everyone else for failure.

Sometimes individual players don't perform well at particular clubs or in particular systems, when the poor performance is systemic within the entire squad, responsibility falls on the manager's shoulders. What do they say about tradesmen and their tools again?

would love to see how rooney and falcao play together hopefully we get a good result and maybe play some fast attacking football just to please BEAST ;)
