I've been thinking a lot about our problem in midfield; what about Marek Hamsik ? He's been mentioned a couple of times, but not any more than that. The lad is pure quality, and I think that he would fit well into our style of play. When our push for Modric, Sneijder and Nasri may seem difficult, why don't we turn our attention to Hamsik ?

What do you think, ED ? Is he the type of player that can plug our hole in midfield? And is there the slightest opportunity that Sir Alex may make a move for him, or is he AC Milan-bound? {Ed007's Note - I do think he will be Milan bound if they meet Napolis very expensive valuation of him, he is a fantastic player though, I agree.}

Berbie has to go this season or lose 30 mil on him nxt season. He and SAF havent sin eye to eye for awhile he hardly played in second halve of season. Not being in the CL squad says it all and then for berbie to walk out of the stadium. . . . Berbie is goning. That to me means we need a proven striker to replace him and as it already seems a big name CAM . expect two big name signings. TORQS

Not going to pretend to be in "the know" cos I ain't just a little more realistic than some folk.

De Gea just about done
Jones and Young done
Sneider, Modric and Sanchez not a chance in hell

I can see two more coming in and I think Thiago is a possibility where as there is quite a good chance of Nasri.

I can see Nani and berba going Fingers crossed Nasri will come in I think he is class plus the wife is a gooner lol

Ed Who do you think, if anyone, we will sign other than De Gea, Jones and Young?

I am personally confused why nobody has mentioned Ganso from Santos. He is a fantastic player and has the potential to be world class and is the exact mold of player we need {Ed004's Note - He is going to Milan}

I think he (Fergie) will retire at the end of the 2012/2013 season. Hopefully on 21 league titles and 4 European Cup wins.

Sam LR

I hope so, but doubt it. We have spent 50m so far, and not one of the 3 players brought in would have made the starting 11 in the CL final. If we do not buy at least one top quality player our first 11 next year will be weaker as De Gea is not as good as last year's VDS, Giggs (if he continues) won't have the same impact, and Young is no Giggs. Scholes is still to be replaced, and Rio is begining to show his age. Chelsea and City will improve the quality of their first 11's with proven international quality players without doubt, and Wenger will belatedly do something about Arsenal's poor defence The way things are, it is going to be much harder for us in the forseeable future

Why does De Gea need to change agent? Why did Bebe need to change his agent last year? Is it because their current agents are not recognised in the UK?...Don't understand

on twitter 2 ITKs claimed to have a BIG news regarding Liverpool and as a result they got huge number of followers within a very short time..after some hrs they said its not actually a news for Liverpool rather its a BIG news for Man United..so some Man Utd fans got them following as well..and when the time comes they posted the infamous Man United no.19 Banner at anfield..what a way to wind up the pool fans.. absolutely loved it..

Anyway United might make a cheeky bid for Hamsik.

eds, what do ye think on swapping berbatov +20million for neymar or sanchez? {Ed002's Note - Zero chance. Would Manchester United accept Konchesky + 5 million for Chicharito?}

That reply from the Ed is absolutely ridiculous
Berbatov plus 20 m would equate to around 32 - 35 million which in fact would be more than what has been reported to have been offered for Sanchez where as Konchesky plus 5 million is still nearly 5 million.
Add that to the fact that Chicha in todays market must be valued at a realistic 40 million, 002's reply although possibly made in jest makes no sense whatsoever

Rant over.

What does everyone think about Diego? With him saying that England would be his preferred destination he could be a cheaper alternative to Wes/Modric/Nasri (obviously I would want those three before dealing with Diego). I know he has had his problems with attitude, etc and he has maybe created riff within his teams but he does have skill. Could Fergie suppress his attitude and mold him into the player that he was suppose to be? Would having the twins and Ando help with integrating Diego into English lifestyle and football help with his attitude?

Just a thought, but does anyone else think that maybe all of the managers inter enquiredabout turned them down because they couldnt guarantee the future of sniejder? Not that i think we will get him. would like to see hamsik if he becomes available, im starting to get a bit concerned though as our chances of getting a world class CM appear to be getting thinner....also wondering if we may make another bid for benzema if neymar goes to real madrid

"One day in 1959, when Huddersfield were playing Cardiff City, Tom Williams, who was then chairman of Liverpool, and Harry Latham, a director, came down the slope at Leeds Road to see me.
Mr Williams said, 'How would you like to manage the best club in the country?'
'Why, is Matt Busby packing it up?' I asked."

Jeez guys chill. yes were in debt. yes we have to pay it back. but putting that aside look what we have done since the glazers have arrived. we have no 19 titles, and won a champo league, and appeared in two other ones. so debt or no debt we are still an extremely successful FOOTBALL club. and as long as the team plays well and keeps winning that shoud be good enough for fans.

and dont get me wrong i want the debt gone as much as the next guy but give it time. once these new fifa rules comme in wel see these so called 'big money' clubs struggling with their own debt

Noley"""
dear mr noley
this has been the same arguments that ngiak has had to endure and been accused of for a long long time
it always starts with sydney saying something vaguely to the tune that he is relatively happy with the transfer/club situation
then mr rainfishtrombone blasts in with his anti glazer raping the club chant
and then sydney replies he agrees and hates the glazers as well but we have to look on the bright side
ngiak had to admit that he was initially against the one sided narrow minded views of rainfishtrombone
but the last 3 or 4 transfer windows almost s**ted his views towards him
but now, especialy if we add a decent central midfielder, ngiak will be satidfied and although HE DOES NOT CONDONE (watch an attack on this statement, mr noley) the glazers methods/debts,
ngiak is happy with the development of the playing staff, club, the MASSIVE INCREASE in our revenues and its achievements

Barcelona may turn their attention to Nani if they fail in their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish and European champions are hopeful of concluding a deal for the Udinese star, who is one of their long-term targets, but with interest from Manchester City, Chelsea and other Italian clubs, his future remains unclear.

But, should they miss out on Sanchez, Spanish newspaper Sport have claimed that Barca view Manchester United winger Nani as an adequate contingency plan.

The Portugal international was one of United's star performers last season, scoring nine goals and setting up 18 more in the Premier League alone.

But his form did not guarantee him a place in Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line-up with the likes of Antonio Valencia and Ji-Sung Park sometimes preferred to Nani.

That competition for places has further increased following the £20million arrival of fellow winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa already this summer.

And mindful of his desire to first-team football, Juventus and Bayern Munich have already expressed an interest in Nani, and now Barca could offer him a fresh challenge if Sanchez does not move to the Nou Camp.

Hey, watch your mouth...Don t forget that you are talking about a player that made United 2 times Champions and played 2 finals, top scorer last year...I m just thinking what it will be if Berbatov didn t score those goals against Blackpool and the one against Bolton. So if you think he is a flop, so you don t no sh*t about the game called FOOTBALL Did Chcharito play in the final against Barcelona ? I did not see him...Yeah and maybe Owen made a great impact for the 2 years he had ? 1 goal agains City and one against Bolton for 2:2 draw...Be real people, Berbatov is a great player. When Rooney was down for much of the season, who scored all the important goals ?

So, I heared the roumor about Moutihno...A couple of years ago, I would have welcome him with open arms, but not now.
On my wishlist are 1. Nasri/Mata (hope we could get one of them, but I m 99% sure Arsene would not sell Nasri to United) 2. Modric (I think is a 60/40 chance to join Chelsea - London thing...) 3. Snejder ( I really don t know what is happening with this one...I don t think anybody knows...)

There is no chance we will sign Napoli striker Cavani. According to SSN the club president has put a 100 million Euro price tag on him.
-----------------------------------------------
This is true - but does not mean he wont sell if the right offer comes in. He's overvaluing the player to either drive up the price or scare away interested parties. I have a feeling it is the prior rathe than the later.

He knows full well that he will never sell Cavani for E100m - especially as Cavani has a E50m buy out clause in his contract

"""Sydney!..............................Sydney alwayst the politician Gives you one side of the story that suits his argument. Remember we still haven't spent anywhere near the £80 mil from the Ronaldo sale plus the £25 mil they promised every year. You are all getting excited about how much we are spending this summer but lets face it for the biggest club in the world with our commercial turnover we should be able to spend this every window if the manager wants to. Instead the money is Haemorrhaging out of the club to pay off someone elses debts. May i make the point that i do not doubt Sydney's loyalty to the club or his knowledge of the club. I just wish he would join the fight instead of sitting on the fence hoping everything will turn out right. The rest of you I ask to look at the big picture, we have forced the Glazers to keep the ticket prices down even though they planned hikes and we have slowed down the money that they have taken as dividends but that doesn't mean that they are not just sat there waiting for us to go away so that they can bleed the club dry. RAINFISHTROMBONE"""

@I completely agree with your thoughts on the Glazers Rainfish, and I can say without any doubt that what you and the others have done has 100% stopped the Glazers from taking out 'ANY' dividends since their arrival at the club. You have also stopped tickets from going through the roof. I have been told by a very good source that the Glazers 'DID' plan to take out the £125m in dividends, but because of the pressure from the fans they decided to refinance the PIKs instead.

So you can give yourselves a pat on the back for that one bud. I do have to say though, we have never been a club that goes out and spends like Chelsea & City. So Glazers or not we would not be breaking the bank to keep up with the sugar daddies. I am also very confident that they will be done with the club soon enough. They will either float us or sell us to the Qataris. So I am hopeful for our future. But in the meantime I will still enjoy the ride just like you are doing mate, you go to many games and you get excited when we win.

That is all I meant mate,

According to the Sky Sports website, 5 clubs have met the £40.3 million release clause for Neymar. SAF is picking his targets, not the Glazers. People need to sort their she*p out, we have already spent £50m and the international window hasn't opened yet. We will be debt free again one day, the Glazers will not be here for ever, they will float us or sell us one day in the near future, just enjoy the football in the meantime.

If O'Shea does leave, we'll definitely make a move for another full back. And with the da Silva's versitility we won't be needing a direct replacement at RB.
The Izaguirre rumours have me very excited and I hope something does materialise.
Are there any other targets? Ramos seems far-fetched and too expensive IMO.

No new striker is needed even if Berba does leave: Owen, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez.

Sanchez is still up in the air due to Barca's relative lack of funds. Fingers crossed If he comes, maybe Nani leaves. Maybe

deGea, Jones and Young are great signings.

Valencia are apparently interested in Berbatov for £14m and we have made inquiries regarding the signing of Edinson Cavani as his replacement.

I'm not sure how reliable the source is (Footy Bunker) as I have never been on the site before now. I did read a quote earlier from the Napoli president saying that Cavani was worth E100m so I can't imagine it is too likely (the latter part at least).

Talksport are reporting that Diego is in talks with an unnamed club. It could be us but I imagine it will more than likely be Liverpool.

I'm also told that Barcelona are refusing to meet Udinese's valuation of Alexis Sanchez. He is supposedly not keen on a move to Manchester City so were we to offer more than Barcelona we would be in with a chance of signing him. Chelsea refuse to get involved in a bidding war with City but were they to offer the right amount Sanchez may accept the move. Udinese are eager to sell this summer however so if a deal can't be arranged with any of the premier league clubs they may be forced to reach some form of compromise with Barcelona.

Arsenal are being linked with a variety of midfield players making it appear that at least one of Fabregas and Nasri will leave. Fabregas is the more likely to do so and we have not made contact yet regarding the signing of Nasri - so whether or not we are interested is unclear.
