I'm sure its time for another trio sculpture on the Old Trafford Grounds. "One Club Heroes"

G.Neville, Giggs & Scholes would fit in just right I'd say.

Would personally love to see the attacking flair of a Hazard or Lucas, but I think realistically we are more likely to sign Clyne, Izzaguirre, 1 from Kagawa or Eriksson. If we splash the big money it will be on a rock like Martinez.

Seems as though the Glazer's are flirting with unamed franchise in America to buy the rights of Old Trafford.

If we sell the naming rights for £200million we could potentially be called.....
- McDonalds Arena
- Budweiser Stadium
- Google Theatre of Dreams or something similar.

I for one would always refer to the stadium as Old Trafford so it wouldn't really bother me (that much)
Plus if they at least spent half of that on new players and half on the debt I'd be a lot happier.

£100m to spend.

Hummels 20m
Baines 10m
Javi Matinez 30m
Falcao 40m

That would make me feel a little bit better after being annoyed for a few days.

Ed004 amongst other people thinks that we will sign a left back, i think its more than likely as well with Fabio going on loan, and Fryers/Blackett not being quite ready to be second choice. So, who do you think we will go for? The problem is ever is never injured or rotated, and i don't think that he would want to be. So for me the threee possible things i can see us doing are:

- Cissokho on loan with an option to buy.
- Sign Izaguirre who wouldn't necessarily warrant a start.
- Sign Dodo, this is the last season we have an option on him.

For me Cissokho is the best option, but i also think Alba could be good, but may be suspect devensively. Its a poser, thoughts?

RedDevil19 {Ed004's Note - Izaguirre imo}

Since when did MANCHESTER UNITED turn into an average team? names that people are throwing about I.E Moses, Clyne, yeah sure these people are good with potential, but we don't need potential we need CLASS, how many players in the last few years have we bought that have had potential and been a waste, BEBE, MACHEDA ,DJEMBA DJEMBA, KLEBERSON, all good and ha potential all turned out to be a waste, we're Manchester united 19 titles 11 fa cups ETC We should be going for players who match our history, people on here putting names that tbh wouldn't even make a championship side, look at city regardless of money there not talking about Moses, tiote, and bains as there targets, we lack ambition in the market and have done for a few years now!

personally roy hodgson has always been my first choice for england manager. Has experience of international management with switzerland and finland. Took inter to to uefa cup final. Took fulham from relegation battlers to the europa league. Has done good job with west brom who a lot of people tipped for relegation this season. Ok he didn't do too well with blackburn but he inherited a title winning squad which was being dismantled. And then their was his other failure with that poor mid table team where he was treated shabbily and wasn't given time. He'd do a better job than the media's choice of harry redknapp who's only ever managed to almost bankrupt every club he's ever been near.

one thing kagawa not in a midfield two mid three or up with rooney maybe on the wings but doubt it. Him and Hazard will do just nicely but if it was a choice of the two Id go for kagawa. gives more fights more and would be our own little messi. and why the comparison with park? this guy is first eleven material. The bundesliga is a very strong league and saying he was second to gotze was not fair. if he wasnt near the end of contract your talking at least 25 MIL

MOVING ON

I bet my bottom dollar we dont sign a defender unless its someone like martinez. Who I dont think we will sign anyway.

Evans despite the everton disaster was getting more stuck in header wise and has Improved this season. Hes an in the middle kind of guy. Not outstandingly first team but better than just a squady. He will benifit from a settled back four and despite the mistakes who knows what kind of communication is going on down in the box but weigh it up with the massive experience of vidic and ferdi gone Id say hes done not so bad. after ferdis words of him I cant see a replacement for him

Ferdinand I look to maldini at the same age who went on for I think eight or nine years longer and thats with injuries. around the same time as ferdis age now maldini was weighing in with 15 games in a season. later down the line he managed 30. the pace of the prem nonwithstanding and Alexs expectations of longevity based on the milan model I expect to see Ferdi next season for sure

Vidics first serious injury? first I remember. will he come back the same. it was never about pace. torres run him knightmare once and yet id still consider him the best the world has to offer. I think he will come back fine. If we know for certain not then act on january.

smalling jones. when they got a run of games together with england showed they are comfortable with each other. both make mistakes but as skewiff a season weve had we are still in with a shot for the title so they must have done something right. in terms of an unsettled back four being called to do a job at rightback and an unsettled team both on form were superb and makes your mouth water what they will be like for years to come. they deserve a million pats on the back from all of us including evans. I wouldnt want any defender coming in and taking any chances they got. as good as subotic and the likes. not as experienced but for sure way beyond in potential.

five defenders is enough isnt it? in the golden boys era how many did we have?

I think fryers might stay too. not sure but he does and thats a little extra.

AND BLAIR DO NOT NAME DROP ME AGAIN THANKYOU VERY MUCH
kloots our pitbull and I found some respect for him. you came to the wrong door buddy. you the wrong shade of red.

How nice of Mr Bernstein, knowing that City dont play well under pressure, to take some of the attention away from the derby by announcing the FA have approached Roy Hodgson for the England job. Hopefully he gets the job, that way when things go disasterously wrong Bernstein will have no choice but to step down.

Question: as we are fighting on all fronts in all competitions each and every season. There is only the odd chance for a youth team player to get the odd game here and there.

So who would get the nod in Def, Mid, Fwd positions if a seat on the bench became available for each position?

Def: M.Keane, Fryers, Wootton, Brown, Thorpe

Mid: Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, James, Norwood, Brady

Fwd: W.Keane, King, Cofie

I've not added macheda & Pogba as they are classed as established members in the first team squad.

Free transfer (just a hefty wage?)

Raul or Del Piero? Maybe both?

Could u imagine what the likes of Clev, Pogba, Petrucci, W.Keane & Macheda could learn off any of them on the training field.

Owen's always injured so a proven replacement.
Raul would get goals for sure.
Del Piero could play League cup games with the legs of youth around him.

One would be amazing both would be EPIC.
Would give the chance to run the rule one more time for King & Keane to go on loan. There not quite ready for United yet.

What Does The Evening News Survey Say About Manchester's Support?

Whilst not at all scientific, given it was entirely dependent on who filled in the survey (I didn't, did you?), it was interesting to note that almost 1,000 more reds took part in the Manchester Evening News poll.

The fact that only 30,000 City fans went to Eastlands for the League Cup semi-final against Liverpool earlier this season speaks volumes about how many fans they have. If Manchester was blue, surely they'd be able to sell out a game of such magnitude? It's not as if semi-finals have been frequent occurrences for City over the past few decades.

Of all the Mancunian postcodes that are featured on the map (data for M4, M10, M11, M14, M15, M22, M23, M40, M90 and M99 isn't shown), United support has the clear majority.

M1 – 56% red
M2 – 83% red
M3 – 73% red
M8 – 65% red
M9 – 55% red
M12 – 56% red
M13 – 45% red
M18 – 45% red
M19 – 42% red
M20 – 36% red
M21 – 46% red
M60 – 94% red

City fans were in the majority in every one of the Stockport postcodes and also in many areas of Tameside and Oldham. Blue strongholds include Hyde, Dukinfield, and Stockport town centre, where more than 70 per cent of those polled said they were City fans.

Over in Salford, central and south Manchester and parts of Trafford, the results were reversed. In Eccles, Worsley and central Salford, more than 70 per cent said they were Reds. The area around Old Trafford is also apparently a Red stronghold, with 71 per cent of those in the M16 postcodes supporting Manchester United.

Apparently our supporters don't come from Manchester.

GK DDG, Lindegaard, Johnstone
RB Da Silva's, Jones, Smalling
LB Baines 10m, Fabio, Fryers
CB Vidic, Rio, Evans, Smalling, Jones

CM (sitting in front of the defence and spraying passes from deep to start attack) Carrick, Sahin 18m, Pogba

Box2Box (high energy player capable of getting up & down)
Fletcher, Tunnicliffe

AM (to get into goalscoring positions or to set up the strikers) Kagawa 15m, Cleverley, Petrucci

Wingers Nani, Valencia, Young, Brady

CF Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito, Macheda?, W.Keane, King

Not added Evra, Scholes, Giggs, Park as this might be their last season.
Added Baines: a left back that can add to our goal tally with penalties, free-kicks or crosses that lead to goals.
Sahin: will keep possession, play killer passes, through balls and even score few goals.
Kagawa: will add quality to the final 3rd in tight spaces he can provide a quick 1-2 or a slide through pass to create or score goals. Worth 15 goals a season & 10 assists.

These 3 players WOULD improve our first team and WOULDN'T break the bank.

Kagawa 15m????

With Japan at the Olympics and a possible Pre Season tour in Asia it would be a really clever transfer on our part.
Aren't some games being played at Old Trafford as well?

I remember Real Madrid virtually had Beckham for free after the money they received from promotion & shirt sales.

Also wouldn't it be a clever move for Sahin...
Rumour has it he's for sale because of his injured start and not enjoying the rotation at Madrid.

They played so well together at Dortmund and know each others game. I'm sure if we doubled the 8m price they bought him for he could be ours come the start of the season.

I would like to thank the Ed's for making my day today. They have told me the reason that most of my post aren't on this "Banter Site" is because I want to abuse Liverpool supporters. How brilliant is this and true. I want to throw abuse at them in any way I can. Guilty as charged. I hate Liverpool i hope they get relegated and King Kenny is there to take them down whilst the whole BBC Liverpool Mafie weeps and talks about tradition and "The Boot room" But most of all so that their plastic scouser supporters most of whom like Blair have never even seen Anfield and spend more time on this site than actually watching Liverpool are gutted. s**t City s**t team s**t Self pitying hypocritical supporters. I AM KLOOT
----------------------------------------
Just read this again KLOOT mate. 'Hate' is a very strong word, don't you think? The sad thing is, that most people on here agreed with you. Disney said 'To true' and he's never been to a United game in his life (probably). All of you who agreed with this malicious, vicious and hatred filled post, hang your heads in shame.

You call us 'bitter' but after reading this bullsh!t and your replies. It's pretty obvious who the 'bitter' ones are and always have been.

I expect this kind of hatred from KLOOT, the rest of you are just bowing down to him. Just to keep him from sending posts/abuse in your direction. The only 2 who seem to have the balls and brains to stand up to his insults/abuse are Moon and Constantine.

The rest of you are all sheep 'BAAAAA' 'BAAAAA'

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - You should have pointed out that he also failed to read and understand what I wrote. I told him that he needed to figure out the difference between abuse and banter. If fans are abusing insteading of "banting" I will cut it. Some of the morally bankrupt Eds may let other stuff through of course.}

Hopefully it'll be one of those I'm with stupid comedy shirts and he runs and celebrates with Balotelli ;-).

Be worth them scoring first to see that.

JUST A BIT OF FUN SUMMARY
Tevez 85mins Richards 0.G (it will hurt him mostly) 90mins
Young with a dive bomb triple pike (wins a penalty)
Rooney hits the keeper and Owen smashes in the rebound 90+12 (12min added on for The Saturday's pitch invasion streak. SCORE 1-2 get in.

Right so I do not understand everyones annoyance with nani, he is 1 of 3 (4 including scholes but he's a legend) world class players at the club 'game changers' with rooney and vidic and valencia, we all complain about players being un-loyal and holding clubs to ransom, but Nani has come out in a interview in the sun an expressed his desire to remain at Utd for his whole career, so no we should not sell Nani because he is sometimes short of form, he has also been hit with Injuries this season so that doesn't help! He's one of the Premierships best and and loyal addition to our club lay off the 'out with nani shouts' and marvel at what he could become, not ronaldo but could be close!

Sir Alex has stated recently that you don't need to spend millions to make a great football team.

G.Neville, P.Neville, Beckham, Butt, Scholes, Giggs
Brown, O'Shea, Fletcher, Evans
Have all proved this is possibles with treble & double winning seasons to prove it.

United don't buy stars we make them.
Is it time for Sir Alex to introduce his new potential QUADRUPLE winning squad?...

M.Keane, Fryers, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Brady, King,
W.Keane.
Plus DeGea, Jones, Cleverley & Welbeck I'd say the possibilities are endless.

Sir Alex seems to have a good relationship with the Managers of Everton, Swansea and Wigan.

I feel its time to test our FA Youth Trophy team out in the Prem next season.

Petrucci - Swansea would suit his passing game and would replace key players they may lose Like the ice man on loan.

Tunnicliffe - Wigan need a ball winner to start attacks and feed Moses on the wing.

King & Brady - Everton could use some pace upfront to bring on. With Anichebe almost always injured and LW Drenthe only on loan they'll need a winger with a good cross for Cahill.

The 3 Clubs joining will also be looking for quality loans maybe Wootton, Norwood, James, Brown

3 important player for United

Evra - most appearances due to no cover.
Carrick - (not a DM) only defensive minded midfielder.
Rooney - Only player to hit 25+ each season.

The rumours: J.Alba 15m or Baines 10m

DM J.Martinez 28m, J.Garcia 15, Lass Diarra 15m,
Bruno Soriano 15m.

Or the Carrick mould: sahin 18m, Cabaye 16m.

I think with Chicharito & Welbeck they would hit 25+ between them each season.

Plus Nani, Young, Valencia chipping in is enough.
We all know Sir Alex does like EPL experience......

Could it be Baines EPL
Lass, Cabaye EPL, Champs League experience.

Would be good additions and not break the bank.

I truly think Tunnicliffe may have a chance next season.

Petrucci & Norwood will go on loan.

Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley, Pogba
Will start the season but will they finish it?

Scholes & Giggs two games a week (no)
Fletcher - will he find his form & fitness (fingers crossed)
Anderson & Cleverley - staying fit (doubtful)
Pogba - is he ready yet (Juventus think so)

Then there is Tunnicliffe - Rumour has it he is a Grrrr City fan.

So why not sink them with our secret weapon. On the run to the FA Youth Trophy he showed power, desire & leadership qualities to take the game by the scruff of the neck & take control. Lung bursting runs to start attacks & last ditch tackles to close the door on dangerous situations.

This lad could have the same impact as Jones this season.
I see similar qualities, also the energy of Fletcher (maybe a replacement in waiting)

For years United have scouted the Globe for a Robson or Keane.

Has the search ended.

Everton were rumoured to want Macheda on loan last season. If we really want Baines we could put him in a cash plus player deal.

Evra may be used on the wing like Park in the games we need more protection down the right.

Sir Alex has use Full backs Rafael & Fabio this way in the past.

It would also be a cheaper solution to a left footer on the left. Baines----Evra
With Baines over lapping to cross with Evra covering.

Jordie Alba LWB/LW seems to be going back to Barca like so many Acadamy players do Pique & Fabregas.

I think the last 2 loan moves haven't been kind for the young Italian. Will Keane & Josh King will have more of a chance to break into the first team.

Lindegard
smalling jones Ferdinand Evra
Carrick giggs
Valencia Rooney. Nani
Welbeck

This is (I think) the last line up that faced city and did well.
Obviously DDG in and probably Scholes for giggs.
Nani might be out so either young in or welbeck/ Rooney out left and cleverly in the hole. Counter attack will earn us a win or draw. Just concerned if city score first. I think it will be a 1-0 / 1-1 because of what's at stake.
