Hi eds is there anything behind what Pep Guardiola has said to suggest that we may have already bid for Kroos?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's all paper talk.

Just wait until 11/12ish Friday night then all your questions for January will have been answered. It's as simple as that.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 23:43:55
According to tv sport bayern munich boss pep guardiola said about our interest in kroos "things move fast in football, here today gone tommorow" very interesting quote looks like the move could be on before friday!

I see have odds of 4/9 on Kroos to join Utd. That would suggest there is chance he will join. Anyone seen if there odds available for him to stay at Bayern?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The odds are simply a case of the betting agencies responding to all of the tripe in the media. They're also affected by betting patterns - which again - are dictated by whatever stories the papers (or persons on twitter) make up.

Agree0 Disagree0

News paper speculation is not enough to slash the odds into 4/9, decent sums of money have been put onto him making the switch, if you wanna argue with a bookie though go ahead!

Agree0 Disagree0

1980 - As I said - money being placed affects odds - but that tends to be based on media speculation and the say so of people who are supposedly ITK.

Bookies have had us down as favourites for about 20 players throughout this window with a few of those being odds on at times. I'd never bet on transfers because the odds are massively manipulated by bookies. They simply cut odds on anything that may be remotely possible just in case (I've even noticed a few instances where they have been taking bets on a player's transfer but not on them moving to the club which they had been strongly linked with).

When those in charge of managing the odds read that we've put bids in for Kroos and Dante - they shorten the odds dramatically. As of the moment I'm doubting that we've placed bids for either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would of thought to get a better thought on a transfer via betting sites, u should be first looking at the odds on him staying at his present club, then look at the shortest odds on clubs linked to get a rough answer of a transfer?

Agree0 Disagree0

People betting on media specualtion aren't smart betters, there just sticking £20.00's on or whatever they can afford to bet on things that they think may happen, not enough to slash the odds so quickly in one day, I believe he was 2/1 yesterday and now around 4/11 in places, there will have been decent money lumped on threw someone who either knows something or thinks he knows something threw an unreliable source.

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR - Most transfer betting will not have a market for 'stay at current club' because nine times out of ten it would have the shortest odds of any of the markets. Why would people bet on Kroos to go to Manchester United (odds on) if he was still odds on to stay at his current club? Koke is a great example of this at the moment. He's just signed a new contract at AM and so should be odds on to stay - yet slybet have him at 5/6 to move to United.

1980 - We seem to be saying the same thing? Two days ago the odds on Kroos to United were 2/1. Papers/twitter report that a bid is going to or has gone in. People lump money on the transfer and the odds shorten. Ergo - twitter/paper talk has lead to the switch in odds and thus in some instances odds are no more of an indicator as to the likelihood of a transfer happening than what's being said in the paper.

Really wouldn't put it past man city to do the quad this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No they won't.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's certainly possible. My gut says they will win the league and league cup for sure. The FA Cup and Champions League may prove to be a little more difficult.

Is it true that Chelsea have just offered us £74.2 million for Juan Mata? ;-)

Tony Kroos didn't look happy at all at being subbed off.

Also reports that United are leaving the top targets of Vidal and Shaw for the summer and will go for Fernando.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

People seem to be over exaggerating with his reaction. He took off his sweatbands and threw them on the floor. Hardly the 'strop' being reported around tinternet. If anything I thought he looked more frustrated with his performance up to that point than being substituted off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidal and kroos will be great, but Fernando will do a job for now and should be relatively cheap. So will be a very good buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports coming out of Portugal claim Manchester City are set to win the race for Porto midfielder Fernando. Manchester United and Liverpool have both been strongly linked with a move for the 26-year-old, but now it has emerged that City are favourites to capture the Brazilian. Portuguese daily Record claims Porto chairman Pinto the Costa has decided to cash in on Fernando after he turned down a new deal with his current contract due to expire in the summer.

Oh look at that, a city player tries to punch the ball off the line but nothing given. Yes spurs scored but that's just ridiculous

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Either you are being bitter or you don't know the rules. The only reason anything would be given is if he denied a goal, as the ball went in there was no goal denied so the correct decision was made. There have been 2 terrible decisions in this match that have helped city win the game, that wasn't one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct gds2.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't deliberate handball a red card offence

Agree0 Disagree0

Andersonschef,

In a word, no. The only handball offence in the game is deliberate handball. If it was a red card every time then you would have 3 or 4 red cards a game. Usually it isn't even a yellow. If you gain an advantage from the handball it is a yellow card, if you gain an advantage by stopping a goal it is a red card, simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to know, for the record I thought spurs actually got the better of a number of poor refereeing decisions although the most important one did go against them. I don't know why joels getting wound up, a spurs loss suits us and the referee had nothing to do with the result city could have had 10 or 12.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 20:57:54
Looks like a good week for us. Everton have dropped 3 points, and Spurs are down 2-0 and down to 10 men.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2014 20:56:02
Arsenal, liverpool, newcastle and now spurs have all had perfect goals disallowed against city and now a penalty for npthing against spurs as well. This is a joke. Why don't they just hand them the title

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just caught the highlights of the game and the officials were right to rule it out. The red card for Rose, on the other hand.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 20:49:53
Just reading what Cabaye said about joining PSG. He used the word 'project' when talking about how happy he was to be joining.
I for one am so glad that when we have players joining they use words like 'history' and 'privilege'.
Dont get me wrong i'm not bitter, good look to him.
Am I the only one who thinks its a sad state the way big money like PSG and rubbishy are trying inadvertently to distroy the great game and itsttraditional values?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2014 20:49:23
Kroos just got subbed on the hour mark tonight and threw a tantrum. If I was moyes. With his contract talks stalling. And the fact he is clearly not happy at bayern I'd take advantage. We've not had a good midfield since giggs. Scholes. Beckham and Keane IMO!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on Davey.get the contacts out tonight and put in a big bid (I don't mind if we pay over the odds he is quality).

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 20:23:43
Man city hassling the referee, Aguero going down holding his face. Seems like the Barca influence is starting to now appear into their play.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The linesman is having a stinker in this game, wrongfully disallowed a Spurs goal at 1.0 and Rose makes a good tackle and he is sent off and City get a penalty. Please tell me this isn't the same linesman that made some very suspicious decisions at Newcastle?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its working to our advantage though isn't it Sydney!? Spurs dropping 3 points is great for us right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe sandro rossell will turn up as city chairman next!

Agree0 Disagree0

As hard as it is for United fans to accept, it is probably better for us that City do win these games against our CL rivals. I think City will win the league anyway, so if they can take 3 points off Spurs, Everton, Liverpool etc then it will help our quest for 4th sport. If we could then manage to beat City and the aforementioned teams, we would be in a very strong position for that CL spot.
I hate seeing City win anything, but we have to look at the "bigger picture" for now, and hopefully with a few more quality additions we can look to challenge City again soon. Hopefully next season, but probably more realifstically the season after that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Betty/REDFAITH

I agree but it look a like city have a few injuries with Nasri and Aguero out for a while.

The funny thing is if City beat Chelsea on Monday at home and the scourers win away at WB they are only 1 point off 3rd place. I the we are in for some weird results and lot's of twists and turns.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh can't believe that youse are complaining about the ref certainly you've had your fair share of luck form the refs in the past I see no one mentioning that. ( not a man city fan )

Great game to watch AM against AB. Herrera and Koke on show.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

AB v good so far

Agree0 Disagree0

I will take Herrera over Koke. I think he is exactly what we need.

Interesting what midfielders combinations we end up going with if the reported interest are true and we actually bring in 2 guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would also take Herrera, he has a lot to his game but I think he could do a great job as a box to box cm

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred

I agree. Funny old game. AB much better team but end up losing and me losing money:(

Laporte is also some talent. It musts be the iberico that they feed these guys on.

Agree0 Disagree0

@GCU

I think Herrera and Vidal would be an unreal midfield for us. Both retain the ball well, defend well, have good positional sense and can split open a defense with a pass. More importantly they cover the length of the pitch with ease and have an unreal workrate, something we lack in midfield.

Any of Herrera/Koke/Gundogan beside Vidal would be a terrific midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred/REDFAITH

I think we all agree with Herrera being the better of the the two. He just gets around the pitch so well and can sit there and pass it all day and also defend. Herrara/Kroos or Herrera/Vidal would be unbelievable. Gundogan would also be good but I am more in favor of Vidal/Herrera.

Scary having those 2 in 4231 with what we have upfront and on the wings we would rip teams apart.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree cgu. As I said last week, Herrera is a super player. Put Vidal next to him and my name is rubbishhotmidfield.

Hi ed's I've heard rumours that united have bid for mangala and enquired about fernando. Is this true?

Hi eds, Konoplyanka in talks with lfc do we still hold any interest and do you think we will enter the bidding? Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I think it may be too late - the remaining interest is from Liverpool and PSG. And Liverpool shoud be able to figure this one out.}

I'm not sure where he would fit in personally, I think MU need to stick to strengthening the LB and CM area.

Ed, any news on Kroos, Filipe, Garay or Vidal? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Vidal won't happen. Garay can still be done but Otamendi might be an option. Filipe was injured against Bilbao whilst being watched by MU. Kroos as I have explained is posturing and I still expect a new contract will be agreed.}

Ed002, if Kroos does leave BM, am I correct in thinking MU, Chelsea & Barcelona would all be interested? Thanks.

Mata Stats

MATA :-
378app, 88 goals, 115 assists

Iniesta
631 app, 57 goals, 88 assists

Xavi
896 app, 86 goals, 81 assists

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's rather unfair to compare Xavi/Mata due to the fact Xavi is more of a dictator of the tempo rather than a playmaker, but those stats are rather impressive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't realise how poor Iniesta's and Xavi's stats were.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's just not compare. Xavi and Iniesta are in a league of their own

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't resist!

Wayne Rooney

589 app, 263 goals, 133 assists

Stats lie! He is a Sunday league player ;-) .

Just having some fun, bad day at work :(

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure where you're getting your stats from - but they are incorrect. There seem to be a lot of inconsistencies depending on where you look but the below seem to be accurate.

Club stats since the 07/08 season (Mata's first season with Valencia):

Mata:
298 games, 76 goals, 87 assists

Xavi:
337 games, 54 goals, 89 assists

Iniesta:
302 games, 36 goals, 60 assists

Agreed that Iniesta's stats are not really reflective of his quality - but Xavi's are outstanding given where he plays.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona play as a team. It doesn't matter who racks up the stats. Xavi and Iniesta are two of the greatest midfielders of this generation. Mata has time on his side to catch up to that, but stats aren't a way to proving that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do any of the eds believe an offer may be submitted by us for Kroos this window? papers seem full of it but then the papers always are full of it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like Kroos as a deep lying playmaker, he might have been pushed there because of the wealth of attacking players at bayern but his passing is metronomic. He's a bit slow but nowhere near as pedestrian as carrick. Considering Carricks age and form I think it would be a good signing for us. I do think we would need someone more dynamic than fellaini if we were to play with two in midfield though

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 12:23:36
It was great seeing Mata's debut, RVP back in the side but in my opinion we started looking a lot better when Rooney came on.
He was pinging passes all over, creating chances, shooting on site and we as a side looked so more threatening going forward as a unit.
Fo me he's been the biggest miss over the last month or so.
Just on the transfer front I don't think that we will see anybody else come in January. I hope i'm wrong.
I central midfielder would be ideal and tide us over until Sunday.
The big worry for me is catching Liverpool in 4th spot as they seem to be really playing well at the moment.
A win is a win but last night wasn't great and I think we struggled again in the central midfield areas which is worrying, especially against the likes of Cardiff.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well you were wrong a couple of weeks ago when you said we will sign nobody ;)
Lets hope you continue to be wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems MU are trying hard to get Nani out of the club, whether it be a loan or sold. Could we be looking for another attacking player? Has Liverpool's recent interest in Konopylanka made the MU board act on our interest? Could be an interesting last 48 hours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Genuinely think it'll be a boost when Fellaini gets back to full fitness, I know he's not going to set the stage alight but think he's got a lock more to show than what we've already seen of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope I am wrong Syd.
I think were desperate for a central midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats your opinion Syd, do you think anyone will come in?

Agree0 Disagree0

Konopylanka for me is an out and out winger and I think we may be moving away from that

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, I think we are trying very hard behind the scenes, but it is hard to do business in January. I think we may be trying to agree deals in principle for the summer. I would hope for a LB and CM, but think we may only get a LB, perhaps only on loan. We will see.

Jred, MU do have an interest in Konoplyanka, but could Mata have been signed instead?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred,

What has made you think that? I do agree with you that we should and probably will but nothing on the pitch has suggested otherwise. Do you think Moyes is waiting until we have enough quality in midfield and at full back to play the 4-2-3-1 or he will always stick to the rigid 4-4-2 of united's past?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will move to a 4_2_3_1 I think the signing if Mata points that way

Agree0 Disagree0

Mata Rooney and rvp don't fit into s 4-4-2 imo and when fit all will play

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred

Mata left. Janujaz right. Fellaini and Carrick in the middle. Rooney and RVP up front.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo
I don't think moyes will play Mata on the lw of a 4-4-2

Agree0 Disagree0

It has to be a 4231. You cannot chuck Mata out on the wing in a 442. That would be criminal.

Carrick & Fellaini would be well too slow and predictable. I really hope we can sign a CM and a decent LB.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 12:15:22
Anyone else think that a 3 of Kagawa, Januzaj and Mata behind a central striker would be nice to see?

The link up play and short quick passing would be fast and effective and enable us to actually break down opponents, With fletcher and Fellaini sitting behind to provide defensive cover and the wingbacks providing the width needed to create space. thus increase our chance production ultimately in the aim of increasing our goals scored. That is unless Welbeck is playing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Janu, Mata and Rooney behind RVP excites me. I think Kagawa is gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't work. Rooney is not in it, therefore it will not exist

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa is a waste of space in this team and league.
Cutt our losses and send him back to Dortmund and get a player plus cash in return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course Rooney is in it Mick :) I put him In it. Untill we get a CM I'd play as we did at the back last night with Fletcher and Jones and that front 4.

Ed woodwood at terminal 3 in departure
lounge with a load of other suits. Ive
just arrived but the board this afternoon
says Heathrow- Milan- Hamburg-Madrid
& Paris
Your guess is as good as mine!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was under the impression that Terminal three was for Transatlantic flights. I might be wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Manchester terminal 3

Agree0 Disagree0

Mainly transatlantic or long haul but some European flights. Doubt the board only had Euro flights mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is nani with him holding a tourist guide to Milan with him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or Paris for matuidi?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 11:22:39
Last night's performance wasn't that bad. I was impressed with Mata, who looked very good on the ball. Problem is: When we play Jones and Giggs in CM, we are never going to be able to perform to a high level. I mean FFS, Giggs should be no-where near the first team. Fletcher and Jones should have started last night, and I am sure the result would have been better.

I think that a 4141 system needs to be used, with Mata and Rooney playing the supporting CM roles behind RVP. The wide players' would have do come in-field to help out, but it could work a treat, as long as we compressed the space and playing a high defensive line.

I am not going to make any predictions about our next few games; suffice to say that we should be taking 6 points.

Onwards and upwards.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2014 11:21:45
Moyes clearly doesn't like Kagawa. Any thoughts that he might be off to Bayern in a cash+swap deal for Kroos

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What would Bayern want him with what they already have. he will never get any time on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 10:48:20
Anyone think there could be a swap for Kagawa + cash for Kroos. Perhaps that's why he didn't feature?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2014 10:14:00
If we dot sign any other midfielder this window, then I would really like to see both Fellaini and Fletcher given a chance to play together. Ppl seem to have written Fellaini off already even though you can count the number of games he has played for us on 2 hands and he has had to play through injury. I think f fellaini plays as the holding roll which he did well for us the last game he played for us(I rememeber shappy I think showing us his stats and they were very good considering he had to cover for giggs a lot of the time).
Fletcher out of all our midfielders offers us the most energy and can pick a pass so giving him license to bomb up the field with fellaini covering when needed, In my opinion is the best cm pairing we have at the minute.
Having said this I still hope to see a new cm come, preferably kroos :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2014 10:00:39
Fernando of porto would be a great addition to
our squad .Lots of energy and a real box to box
midfielder . I read last week that we might be
interested and at £9 million not really a great
risk -we could even throw in Bebe and anorange
to clinch the deal lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Damn right. He is quality and will be very good for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 09:51:46
It seems Konopylanka is a January target for Liverpool. He's a very intelligent player. I wonder if we still have an interest now Mata has signed? I guess we will find out soon enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well he is better than salad imo and if they do go for him because they missed on salad, I think in hind site they will be try happy with how things turned out.

The next 48 hours should be lot's of fun :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's better than Salad, but I wouldn't take him over a big juicy steak

Agree0 Disagree0

God the auto correct on spell check is terrible. It is meant ti say Salah and not sale LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

GCU must be kidding,
Salah is a pretty Dynamic Winger who would be a great addition to any side
There was a reason BR was unhappy after scouting him for 6 months and losing him, I find it hard to say the same for Konopylanka

Agree0 Disagree0

DJ

How many times have you watched him and he is in for rude awaking to the PL :)

Konopylanka is much better IMO. You guys have to stop reading all the press headlines mate :).

Egyptian Messi they call him, problem is messi has more talent in his small toe than salad has in his entire body LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shahram

Finish your salad and post man. On a side note, what do you make of Keylor Navas? 3rd best GK in the La Liga behind Courtois and Caballero.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, do you think MU will try to sign Konopylanka? You called this some month's ago so it would be impressive if it happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think it may be too late - the remaining interest is from Liverpool and PSG. And Liverpool shoud be able to figure this one out.}

Deeps

No and why do you ask?

The Scousers have picked themselves a real good player if they do the deal and I think Moses is as they say cooked :)

On another note, never thought I would be saying this but hope city beat the pants off of spurs tonight:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Shahram

You place a lot of bets for La Liga games, thought you would have an opinion. He is the Levante goalkeeper.

I think Yehven is a very good player. Not sure how would he fair in our "physical" league. I had seen him for the first time at the Euros.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deeps

To be honest Valdes is having a superb year at Barca and probably the best keeps in that league at the moment.

Outside the PL games I generally bet 2 or 3 teams in 4 or 5 European leagues once I get comfortable with them and a certain level on consistency. I have been betting Bilbao, Sevilla, Villareal most of the year as the odds on the top 3 suck and not worth the wager.

I have Bilbao on a win or draw against AM tonight.

Yehven will be handful and I believe they will have him down the left and with their strikers they will create havoc for all teams. Moses is pants and this guy is a huge improvement.

Hoping someone hijacks the deal. Keeping fingers crossed we do something. I still think we will sign one more:)

Banter please Eds,

Morning Gents,

I know you boys give Ashley Young a lot of stick, and rightly so, but you have to admit, that goal he scored last night was an absolute worldie, amazing goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wouldnt say an amazing goal, but he did finished it well. He's still sh*t though and needs to go, a few more of those goals might get us an extra couple of million though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brendan it was a brilliant goal mate. If hazard does it he is Balon D'or material when one of our own does it it is ok.

He is maybe not everyones favorite but personally I prefer him to other options out left.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree GCU, he had acres of space as no one closed him down, he had plenty of time, saw a gap and hit it as hard and low as he could. Nothing world class about it, just a good strike. If he had beaten 3/4 players, been under pressure and still got his shot away and scored I would agree with you, he took his chance well though. I'd rather Januzaj, Mata or even Lingard in front of him on the left hand side tbh. He's had plenty of chances in my eyes and has to be one of the first to go in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley young is a diver and is rightly derided for that but his form is picking up and for as long as he cuts out the theatrics he is better than some give him credit for. He is a different option for us if needed

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 100% with snakey.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is poor Snakey, needs to leave along with Nani. His stats since he joined from Villa are, played in 78 games, scored 11 goals, made 12 assists. That's approx 1 goal every 7 games and approx 1 assist every 6.5 games. Not good enough for a winger in my eyes. Even Nani has better stats than that and he has been pathetic. Since Young joined us, Nani has played in 75 games, scored 16 goals and made 18 assists. That is approx 1 goal every 5 games and approx 1 assist every just over 4 games.

Neither is good/consistent enough to be at United going forward I'm afraid, in my eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

But Brendan, Young has spent most of those games playing more defensively to help out Evra. You can't say the same about Nani.

That's what annoys me about Nani. Obviously got the talent, but doesn't produce, whereas Young is less gifted, but works his at$e off.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 09:28:23
Dont know if the rumours are true of DM looking to bring Coleman in to replace Rafael but I think the young Brazilian has gone back a sight this season.

He seems to be getting into terrible positions defensively making the wrong decisions and generally just looking quite poor.

Dont get me wrong I have been his biggest fan up til this season but IMO he is going backwards fast.

What does the Ed and posters think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, I think he offers nothing defensively and when we have a poor midfield it's very noticeable. I like Rafael and he could be back-up to the RB and LB position so still has a future here IMO, but I think we need new fullbacks. Not 100% convinced by Coleman, but he's having a good season.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2014 09:20:09
This maybe something but is probably nothing.

This morning not more than 10 minutes ago while driving to work I saw a 7 series with dark tinted windows with the registation plate M10 YSE. Now I don't know if that is Moyes car or not. So if its not then this is a nothing rumour.

But what is the importance if it is? Well I now live in Newcastle and this car was heading in the direction of an area known as Jesmond. Now most of Newcastles players live out near Ponteland but a few live in Jesmond, Tiote definately does and I think Santon does as well, as well as one or two others.

So if that was Moyes then what was he doing driving towards some Newcastle United players homes on a Wednesday morning?

Like I said though its probably nothing.

Nah doubt it, they probably have that helicopter on rent for the rest of the week so he would have flown up ;p

Interesting to see if we make anymore signings - a toite for short term would be good imo

Shappy coming up with sightings and rumours now, what is the world coming to? :-)

At least its not a 'my brothers, mates, sisters, cousin twice removed saw shhhhneyederer in the Stretford Arndale' rumour :-)

Lets see if anything comes of it and if it does, you'll be the first person to ever get a sighting rumour right on here :-)

Type the number plate into google, sorry to say that it was sold by a Lloyd's dealership secondhand in Newcastle. Still possible that it was Moyes' car but unlikely that it still is

Snakey

Fair enough, I just wondered.

Would like santon, good for the short term as first choice left back and in the future good cover for both fullback positions if we get a world class left back.
Never know, maybe DM got lucky and found a second hand car with the perfect number plate!

Manchester United are set to make a sensational swoop for Bayern Munich playmaker Toni Kroos.

Speculation is gathering pace in Germany that he may be on his way to Old Trafford.

With only 48 hours left of the January transfer window, Moyes will have to make a bid of around 27 million euros to land the German international.

"I am unable to rule anything out, " Kroos told kicker-Sportmagazin.

i can't help but feel sorry for kagawa, we all know moyes doesn't seem to rate him as much as most of us do and with mata's arrival it makes it even worse for shinji. I like shinji very much and would hate to see him treated the way jose was treating mata at chelsea. I honestly wish bvb would try and come for him. what do you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Feel exactly the same. I really think he needs a fair crack at the Number 10, even with Mata coming in. I think he will go and we will see him go on to be class.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think his time is up at OT, unfortunately.

I think we should offer him back to Dortmund for Reus.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe, if he doesn't fit in Moyes plan, their possibility to send him to munich. Link up with lewandowski and gotze again in league he know well, could be nice for him. Get good player who want to be starter every week (Kroos, Martinez. The mega mega squad of bayern his their strenght and their weakness. some of them will want starting role in the sunshine.

Just adding, we need to stop playing Jones in the middle in every game. When we got big game and need to pack the middle, perfect but that's it. Some fox here ask for starting role at cb for the rest of the season and I cannot agree more.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hoped he'd play last night with Mata as I feel they could link up well but it's obvious he's finished at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is Mata showed more in 80 minutes last night than Kags has all season.

He will most definitely be sold in the summer IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a top play-a-maker

Agree0 Disagree0

Class, GD. My favourite thing since I signed up to Twitter, by far.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has all the abilty in the world but his confidence is shot, moyes has given him plenty of chances this season and apart from in patches he's produced nothing worth remembering, people may say he's being played out of position on the left when he gets a chance but he plays well for japan there. once rooney starts in the 10 role behind RVP juan mata will show shinji exactly how to operate as a playmaker from wider areas mark my words.

Poor showing but we got the result! I went to the game and the best thing about it was us fans cheering ole's return!

Can I remind you guys moyes can't just stick em all on pitch in regards to mata rooney januzaj and rvp and think it wil work give him time to get them in ship shape rvp, mata, rooney are also not fully fit

In regards of players we need we need a cm any will do to freshen it up and also a lb that can defend

looking forward to the next 2 games

good result, keeps us within touching distance, I agree with previous posters that our game is still slow lethargic and allbeit with mata#s introduction still too predictable. Mata will provide that much needed innovation in our play once he has players running off him at speed both from wide and from deep but none of our current midfielders run past the no10 like lampard, scholes, robson in their prime or indeed like ramsey, ya ya, or even ramieres. in order to get the most outta mata rooney kagawa adnan etc we need a runner from deep to create more space and greater options,,
in a nutshell our movement is poor the crucial players get on the ball and they have limited usually static and heavily marked options, Mata will improve that but he needs further help the Q is can we get that missing link this window for me Kroos vidal and gundogan can all do that. can woody pull a rabbit of this stature outta the hat with 3 days to go? I fear without it we may come up just short but maybe Mata will be just enough. I for one believe more will come and I don't think we could have a more solid foundation block for the next era than Mata. please woody abracadabra before 11 on friday then we will leave you alone for 4 months ;o)
