Question for the Ed's, reading that the club have activated De gea's one year extension. Do both parties have to agree to it being triggered or once its in the contract can the club activate it, even if the player doesn't want to. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - De Gea agreed to it when he signed the contract so he does not need to agree again. Manchester United cannot use it to profiteer.}

What are peoples thoughts on mourinhos reaction to rashfords miss?

Understand why managers show visible anger when a player fluffs his line such as guardiola and sterling even ferguson and ronaldo.

Just found mourinhos reaction strange, more of a “i told you so.

He said as much in his interview didn't he? He said everyone has been asking me to play Rashford in the 9 position so I did and let's talk about that.

Understandable reaction. Rashford not showing any progress in finishing or final ball.

No big deal.

Not really a big deal but ideally with a young striker who might be struggling for confidence it would be far better to see an encouraging reaction from the manager. A striker getting in to all the right positions but suffering from an inconsistent end product isn't particularly hard to fix, especially if it's all down to decision making. Hope Rashford isn't dropped on the back of it because we've looked a far more dangerous team when either he or Sanchez has led the line.

Have no issue with what Jose did. A meal has been made of it because it is Jose. A video was doing the rounds of Fergie reacting like that to a Ronaldo miss. If Jose has taken rashford off because of it I could understand the hysteria. But he kept him on and he was our most attacking threat so clearly Jose sees something in him. Nobody can fault rashford’s effort or industry, but his final ball and finishing really needs to improve. Not sure Jose is the best manager for his development at this stage of his career. An attacking manager would be wonders for him.

It's always about Jose.

Rashford misses a sitter and Jose reacted like us fans reacted, disappointed, no big deal. Everyone calls for Rashford to play but when he does he doesn’t take his chances, he misses chances. Only so long the ‘he’s young’ excuse will wash.

Not even a discussion point for me.

If you thought jose’s reaction was bad imagine half the fans watching it. He’s lacking confidence and you could see that. If only someone like Rene mulensteen was still at the club to work with Rashford and martial. Heck he’d improve lukaku a lot. Never been replaced.

At the highest level the margins are tiny, forwards need to be clinical. I have seen some great finishers down the years, most natural because it’s instinct on what runs through the head at that moment. Rashford has some great attributes, pace and some skill to wrongfoot the opponent but finishing is not natural by the look of it. He can improve and may become more confident with experience but whilst I am happy to be wrong I don’t see a 30 goal a season striker.

As to Jose’s response, can't win can he, no reaction he doesn’t care and for me, he, like every other manager, would be frustrated at the miss. It’s a non story pumped up because of who it is.

I was disappointed with his reaction, but I loved the water bottle slam dunk.
