Well we don't mame it easy for ourselves do we? But what a game. DDG has probably broke his back from the amount of bows he had to take. Two excellent stops in the last minjte and ashley youngs off the line clearance. For once we had some luck.
Herrera for me should always start. He speeds up play fantastically and for a small player his agression, interceptions and tackling are fantastic and he seems to bring out the best out mata. Fellaini exceptional again but does sometimes look uneasy on the ball. Wilson is a gem and imo right now better than januzaj. His blistrring runs are a joy to watch, something we've lacked in a striker for a long time. I personally feel a striker like aguero/suarez is what we need and i'm sure wilson will be a great. My only concern today was our inability to kill off games. Although we showed our strength to hold the game out we shouldn't have been in that position. Mata had a chance after being laid off by rvp which he skied as did fellaini. Today we were lucky we didn't rue it but we need to make sure we kill off games. Maybe i'm being a bit harsh since we didn't have rooney or adm. Lastly what i loved while watching the game is that once we scored the second, we didn't dit back and let them attack. We clntinued to press, looking for another goal. We look good. We look confident and let's hope this leads to a big run. Ggmu. Great job guys!

Winning when you're not at your best is a skill we've honed, and now got back. Talk about riding our luck at the end, stunning save and clearance off the line.

I thought RVP was terrible, and is miles off form still and needs some time on the bench.

Smalling and Rojo generally looked solid, apart from last few minutes.

young and valencia both did well.

I think the main issue, is that we still seem to make individual errors far too often.

I think a CB and a quick DM, and we'll be solid.

Definitely shows differences of opinion, I thohght rvp had a brilliant game, he was running the channels, chasing lost causes and generally looked quicker and sharper, he was better than Saturday but I suppose he scored then so he gets he plaudits.

Just to add to that GDS, he should've had an assist when Herrera skied that sitter.
There was also a time in the 2nd half when he should've been put through, however the ball got held up a little too long and he was offside - not his fault.

agreed on rvp. always in a good position to receive the right pass and it was delayed. Wilson should have put him through, Herrera could have slid him in instead of passing to fellaini who skied it from the edge of the box, he passed to Herrera when he could have shot.

I miss you already Beast :)

Anyone got any team news for tonight? Is Rooney out injured? We looked really balanced at the weekend, I know Hull are in a bad run at the moment but we need to win these games, build some momentum and get firmly bedded in the top four. Shame Beast is taking some time out. He's an entertaining poster with the reassuring realistic negativity of a long time fan. You'll be missed on here for sure.

I just hope that we have no new problems and that LVG deems Falcao fit enough to start. All though a cold night away at Stoke may not be the best of games for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

Cold or no cold the money he is on if he is fit he should start

Agreed ! He'll be really pi!!ed off when he finds nobody there!!

Hi all, Ed002 if you are about can you shed some light with the difficulty Mancheter United have complying to FFP.
My understanding is that we have raised our wgae cost and this extra cost is over and above the % growth for wages allowed in any given season, 1) is my undrstanding correct? 2) is this somehing we must address beforewe are alowed to compete in a Euro competition? 3) can we incur fines / penalties? for the breach of rules 4) are we over the allowance significantly or is it something we can fix without major changes to personelle?
I know you don't really like talking too much about FFP in too much detail as it confuses the masses but I would appreciate a topline report from you if possible

Thanks in advance

Ken

{Ed002's Note - (1) Yes, your understanding is correct. (2) No, it will not exclude the club from competition. (3) Yes, possibly a fine and possibly other sanctions are the most likely outcome. (4) It completely depends what happens going forward to next season.}

I think we are about to see a big drop in wages. I can see RVP going which will be over 200k, then the likes of Nani who we are paying 120k for the privilege of being loaned out. Other players like Cleverley and Anderson leaving will collectively save a lot. And with one or two only coming in then we will probably have a tighter squad with a marginally lower wage bill (hopefully).

Is there a difference between UEFA and FA versions of FFP? I was under the impression UEFA was all about profitability and FA is about permissible wage growth. There were reports recently that UEFA was about to reconsider its regulations to factor in debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They are completely difference and FFP in terms of UEFA's definition factors in existing debt - which makes no difference to appreciable difference to clubs like LFC or Chelsea but it is a significant benefit to Manchester United. We are not going to get in to discussing any of this here but there have been discussions with UEFA over certain aspects of FFP that need to be reconsidered.}

Don't forget Hernandez as well, and people like fletcher, maybe young, there is still fat to be trimmed

Ed002 does point 4 in your response rely solely on players no longer receiving a salary from the club (hence being within the % increase tolerances)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed002 thanks for the response most appreciated. I don't understand the rules but respect you don't want to go in to it.
