Why do people still continue to piss Ed002 off. This happened last summer and looked what happened and now he's not posting again till september

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree Mancitysuck

I feel I may have annoyed her but it was not intended.

I am a great fan of 002 and 1 reason why I come here

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a banter and rumours site, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.theres bound to be differences, people wind each other up, there's no transfers at united yet and people get impatient but the window isn't open yet, we have to respect each other a little more and have a laugh, oh and I think we will sign shaw, kroos, claisse, and 2 more that's hard to call at this time, let's relax and enjoy the World Cup

This takes the mick I was actually looking forward to Ed002s tips on transfers. someone always has to spoil it for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was the eds I'd just ban the offender.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2014 13:25:05
everyone needs to chill, don't get frustrated and expect too much of the eds, it is my belief the site great, and that is in no small part due to the eds especially Ed002 hard work and insightful contributions. so please don't ask bloody stupid questions that cannot be answered.
come back soon Ed002 we all miss you

to ed2, there's no option to reply to your post, guess that's another thing I don't understand! but then I suppose, if we all understood football then you might be out of a job!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Sure, fuck you.}

03 Jun 2014 13:23:43
Anon, on all the threads I clearly see "reply to above post". I'm sure Ed002 has already said today or yesterday that "now is not a good time". I'm sure Ed002 has a far more important job away from this site so no need for you to concern yourself with him being out of work. Why not go and create your own site you do understand and we can come on there and get the inside track on how to be a bit of an understanding person. Don't ruin it for some of us on here who are patient and do understand what this site is trying to do. Amen.

But I do like your posts!

I realise it is only the start of June and the world cup is about to start but I am already concerned about Mr Woodward and how he will cope in the absence of RVG! If we can get one signing tied up before the WC starts then i'd feel much better about the rest of the summer.

its probably on twitter somewhere, its across the internet but not with any reliable source backing, that's why I was wondering

United are again heavily linked with Konoplyanka. £12 is faily cheap for a winger who I believe has real potential. He is far better than Ashley Young for our left hand side and has some serious pace, I remember watching him play against England for Ukraine and he ripped Johnson and Walker apart for the whole game. If he is one of two wingers that we bring in this year then i'd be happy! Also with Ukraine not being in the World Cup I believe that a deal could be struck smoothly with Dnipro to buy him (and announce) without distractions.

What are everyone elses thoughts on this potential deal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have bid for him, but the player wants Champions League football next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent player, only 24. But the rumours are that he wants CL football. This may or may not be the case. Comments on this one are unconfirmed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh one season loan deal to play with Dnipro in the Champions League and then bring him back

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2014 20:21:29
van gaal has said that he wants 4 signings before the world cup but manchester united seem to be linked with everybody whos anybody, as per. I was just wondering if any of the eds knew who these 4 are and how likely they maybe?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Did he say that on Twitter? And why?}

Its probably on twitter somewhere, its across the internet but not with any reliable source backing, that's why I was wondering

{Ed002's Note - So you thought it cool to bother the great God that I am over this?~

People only talk to god when they have a problem

{Ed002's Note - So that is football and religion off the list of stuff you understand.}

To be fair Ed/God lol, this is a transfer rumour site and he never mentioned your name in the original post.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Is that what you think?

Haha true. I definitely don't understand football rumours either, but then if I did I wouldn't need the help of "the great god" that you are

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear Lord, it is Monday, Monday evening and we are still waiting for our "write up". We know patience is a virtue, but we need something to smile about. We know you are busy guarding the heavens, but if you could answer our prayers we will be very grateful.

Ed002 does a great job and is one of the reasons this site is what it is. He/she constantly gives out info which the majority of time is accurate, maybe not correct 100% of the time but on one is, yet some people give him/her abuse for this, which is unfair imo as the vast majority of the time the info is correct.

Edd004 if you wish to answer mate, If man united say couldnt.sign anyone, what young players from man uniteds youth team/academy would you give a.shot in midfield?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - Only one ready would be Powell}

Would you not think Lingard could be ready to play back up on the wings

Bar the 4 goals on his debut he was quite average during his loan spells.

Surprised to hear that Lampard is definitely leaving Chelsea - personally saw him retiring there myself. Perhaps they want Fabregas to fill his position in the team and start alongside Matic or Ramires. It wouldn't be like for like, but Fabregas would get some of the goals and lots of the assists that he was responsible for.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Chelsea are rumoured to be after koke along with Barca. I don't see them
Showing interested in fabregas as well as koke,

I believe the only ones in the running are us with Chelsea unfortutntly I see us being clowns and me Woodward having another terrible window

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Koke is not first choice for Chelsea or Barcelona.}

02 Jun 2014 15:38:27
Eds/regulars, now that King Juan Carlos of Spain has abdicated, does this mean anything for our chances of getting some Real Madrid players on the cheap?

I only ask, because he is a big Real supporter, and his leaving may cause serious upheaval at the club.

Interested in any thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am sure msny will arrive.}

Stevie his son will take his place who is also a Madrid fan. So this will have no effect on Real Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard the new king is a close personal friend of Suarez, chances are he will move to RM as a result. Can see Ronaldo returning if this is the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Spain having a new king will have as much as an impact on RM as William becoming king will have on his team Aston Villa.

It looks like the Cesc Fabregas saga is going to be another long drawn out one with plenty of viable teams interested but to our benefit they are dropping like flies.

Arsenal: Seemingly no interest much to the fans dismay. However their midfield is their biggest asset and one of the best in the league and even though he is better than their players he isn't that much of a step up from Ramsey Wilshire and Cazorla and whilst they have bigger issues to deal with it seems sensible not to go for him.

Man City: Apparently they are looking for defensive players and if they keep Yaya I would struggle to fit him in the team anyway. I rate David Silva higher although he is better than Fernandinho imo. Then again it is Man City who have more money than sense.

Liverpool: Midfield isn't their weakest area and they need a defender above all else. I also don't think they could afford to buy him.

Chelsea: Seem to be more interested in Koke but so do Barca which could work bad both ways. If Chelsea get Koke will Barca keep Cesc? If Chelsea don't get Koke will they go for Cesc? I think it's likely Koke will join Barca as it is many Spanish players dream to join there or Madrid which could leave Chelsea in the running, then again if he still loves Arsenal would he join a local rival. Same could be said for us though, would he join a bitter rival?

Man Utd: He wants a move to the premier league and we may be the only club left, it's pathetic really I know but it's as good as a chance as we may actually get to getting a world class player. We need him the most so have the most incentive to get him and let's hope some groundwork was lUd last season seeing as though we wanted him them. Hopefully Dave and Mata will put in a good word, we can only hope.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There are countless options. He will be drawn by the fact that Robin has settled in well (other than under Moyes), that he is a fan favorite. De Gea may help to twist his ear but he seems focused on Iniesta at the moment. LVG is a top manager which is another draw and he knows that we will be back fighting around the top very very soon. Arsenal don't seem to be going for him as you say, he is apparently too similar to Ozil. City unlikely, Chelsea I think want Pogba and Liverpool no chance. I think as you say, we may be the best option for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't it reported lvg doesn't want fabregas? Should this be true isn't it irrelevant if fabregas would pick us or not

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is Bookedredmole, we don't know for sure if LvG is not interested in Cesc. He may well be.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think anyone can definitely say what LVG wants really, and that's one of the factors I like about him.

When our midfield is our weakest area for all to see and a player like Fabregas becomes available, even if he has maybe hinted at not wanting him which could have been because he was maybe seemed as hard to get after last years saga, you'd have to be pretty stupid not to at least throw an offer in Barcelonas direction.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one knows but LVG, he has certainly not said that he isn't so we can take it that it as a rumour and nothing more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point Sydney. I just don't believe he is a target. In my opinion I don't think he is what we need right now

Agree0 Disagree0

Wednesday is a terrific opportunity for Tom Lawrence who will make his Wales debut against Holland. He will certainly be out there to impress van Gaal.

I can't believe that we are being linked with Suarez. Haha, you got to love the silly season! I wouldn't want him anywhere near our team, great player but terrible attitude and temperament. No thanks. Imagine Suarez and Evra in the same dressing room!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Most absurd rumour in some time, that one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha it is hilarious, best rumour of the year for me. We have more of a chance of getting Messi!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney is hardly a saint is he?

Yes he's a complete tool but what a player.

Put a £75m bid in for him just t shake things up!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2014 17:06:33
As far as I am aware the article was written by a guy saying that to make a big impression United should bid for Suarez to show that we mean business. The player could have been anybody, but the headline wouldn't have been as good if it wasn't Suarez.

Slow news day, pathetic journalism and a stupid headline to make people interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a £65m release clause in his contract, but they are pointless in this country as we learned from the Arsenal bid that was rejected. I am not sure why Suarez agreed to this release clause in his new deal after John Henry refused to sell him to Arsenal. Unless this time round the contract is worth the paper it's written on. It's a pointless rumour him being linked to us, but I can see RM paying £65m for him this summer or close to that figure. Liverpool and especially Suarez will need to think carefully as he will be 28 in January and we seen how quickly Tevez went from hero to zero. At 29 Tevez took a dive into decline. Very similar players. RM may not come back again for him so he will need to consider it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, am sorry but how can you compare Suarez to Tevez, Tevez has an absolutely abysmal attitude, took a 6 month holiday without permission, he also relied on pace, Suarez on the other hand loves football to the core, looks after himself extremely well and doesn't rely on pace, he can easily play at a high level until he's 32-33 due to that very fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of Suarez assests is pace but he could become more of a RVP player than say a Sturridge

Agree0 Disagree0

Plymouth, LOL, yes Suarez has a great attitude.

Post of the day goes to Plymouth Red ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no link, the story comes from a newspaper article saying we should bid £75 million to show we mean business.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Suarez has a great attitude. LMAOF. Except when he is hungry. Or losing. Or playing on a day that has a "y" in it.
And his teeth are always offside!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lmfao***

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, my point being is Suarez will never take a 6 month sabotage and he will always give it 110% whilst out on the pitch, regardless of whether he wants to be there or not.

Opinions please.

This is obviously a very important transfer window for us.And so far we have nothing to show. There is no doubt however that people at the club are working very hard to bring people in. What I want to ask is.

1)Are we taking a big gamble(like last year) chasing unrealistic targets while the achievable ones are actually ready to come right now? We've supposedly put players like carvalho on the back burner, while chasing kroos, bastian, cesc and other players who are just not going to come. Yes, carvalho is a different player(a DM) but a much more achievable one. What could happen in the near future is that some rich russian club or monaco or whoever will come in and buy him. Something like witsel. And in the end we'll be left with the fellaini like players. Its not just carvalho. There may be other players we can get for our midfield who are not "A listers" and yet will improve us massively.Players like konoplynka are available for 12 million. Now whether he wants to come here or not is a different thing, but the club should at least try their best to get him, instead of chasing robben, sanchez and di maria.

2)the luke shaw case
Could it be that the delay is that he is waiting for chelsea to commit to someone else? And if chelsea actually refused to match southampton's evaluation then kudos to them. And we should follow suit. He's a wonderful LB with immense potential. But he's not the only left back in the world. Do we even have a backup plan? Shouldnt we be looking at rodrigues, kurgawa and moreno too?

3)which youngsters do you see stepping up next season if you had to pick 3?Mine would be wilson, perriera and lawrence.

Agree0 Disagree0

The delay is simple lads, we haven't offered Southampton an acceptable amount for Shaw. MU could sign him tomorrow if they wanted. But it will be a larger fee than we are offering now.

Afternoon Ed's.( I'll post a quote from the news if it is allowed).

He’s a big enough name and I know
the list that he’s given Ed Woodward (club executive vice-chairman), ” assured Schmeichel. “All of them are in talks and are willing to join Manchester United.
Peter Schmeichel joining the party now? Or is he credible(being the club ambassador)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you have ever watched MUTV you will know that anyone connected to United are not allowed to say anything against them!

If you've ever heard about the corporate sector, you would know that you can't say anything about the company you work for. Moving on, the question is , why make a fool of yourself by making everyone say that "our targets want to join" and then ending up signing nobody (Sorry Marouane!), unless there is some activity happening.
Post Script: He has in the past called the first team "not up to the standard", so your point stands invalid

More of a question for the Eds than a rumour.
AC Milan have had a poor season in Serie A, there is uncertainty with the manager etc.
They do however, have some very talented players! Defenders like De Sciglio, Mexes, Montalivo in midfield and attacking players like El Sharawy and Balotelli who under a strong manager like LvG would be an asset to any team.
My question to the Eds is, could you see many of their big players being tempted away from the San Siro and if so, would United be interested?
I for one would take any of the players I've mentioned

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This is just a random list of players that Manchester United have shown no interest in.}

I'd take De Sciglio in a heartbeat but aside from perhaps El Sharaawy (I'd want him to have an injury free season elsewhere to see just how badly his recent injuries have stunted his development) I wouldn't want any of the players you mentioned.

I'd be surprised if we moved for any Milan players but would not be surprised to see Balo or El Sharaawy move on this summer.

hi edds,

was watching the u20 tournment in toulon last night and marquinhos of psg was immense, still alittle rough round the edges, but superb.

with david luiz coming in, any chance of him leaving? if so, utd should go for him? not sure what kinda price he would command but at 20 be an investment imho?

cheers, scott.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I assume you are joking. This is an example of why we don't discuss money.}

They only signed him last year for something like £27m when he had only just turned 19.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the OP was refering to 20 as in age.

Cheers sammy, one was refering to his age! with regards to a fee, £40 million? Rio was signed for £30 mil and he served us well?

Talk on some of the other pages is that Adam Lallana is a better player than Cesc Fabregas. Now I don't think we are going to get Cesc, my guess would be he ends up at City, but it is laughable to suggest that Lallana is better. I do not buy the 'Cesc can't play CM without players doing the work around him', its nonsense. Lallana had one good season in the Prem at the age of 26. Cesc dominated the Prem from the age 18 for years. No comparison to be made in my opinion.

Would love to hear other peoples thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cesc held his own at 16 too. Would have him instead of Lallana all day long although Lallana is decent. Agree re: Cesc likely to go to City. If I were in his shoes I'd choose City.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2014 12:53:31
Just to clarify - I don't think Lallana is a bad player at all! I think he's decent. But he is no Fabregas.

Someone asked further down the page who would you sign from the clubs who finished in the top four if you couldn't sign their best player such as Suarez Ozil Hazard Toure.

One thing I noticed not one of them have a left back i'd take.

I'd go with player who cover positions we need someone for so Kompany, Ramsey, Sterling( Liverpool were tough to pick) and Azpililcueta.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I see everyone mentioning Ramsey, I just don't see it. I mean he didn't even make the England squad! Even Cleverley was ahead of him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good one Andy, haha ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2014 12:25:13
The reason Ramsey never made the England squad is because he suffers from the same affliction as Giggs. I'm afraid he is terminally Welsh. Lol.

Ramsey was the most inform midfielder in the league up until he got injured. If he stayed fit for the whole season he would have had a better season than Yaya Toure.

He was probably Arsenals best player this season. And there title challenge fell apart when he got injured. that's probably why most people have picked him, the only other player i'd choose from Arsenal is the Ox, but seeing as I chose Sterling then it seems silly yo pick the Ox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Petty sure I saw ed04 say the same players dave = azpilicueta

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey is a good midfielder because he has everything a midfielder needs pace power shooting and able to pass bit like Wilshere but struglies with injuries

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hoping Andy was joking in both ways.

I'd take Ramsay at OT all day long. He's just what we need.

Hi Eds, thanks as always for the site.
Eds, a little while ago I remember someone asking if you could provide a 'blanket' post stating who the most likely transfer targets are and what the chances are of them being completed. The Eds quite rightly said this was too early to answer but I was wondering if now might be a better time? It might help stop the same questions being asked over and over again.
Thanks all,

Been a while since I posted, but I view regularly and I think the work that you do is superb (Particularly Ed002).

I was wondering if you had any insights as to who the targets are?
